Excellent experience! I needed repair on my dryer. I had an appointment for 9am-12pm, expecting they would get here at noon. Had a broken Samsung ice maker and called Appliance Works. Pleasant and friendly employee listened to my issue and quickly and effectively set up an appointment for a repair person to come to my house. Explained what their house call fee was and if they were going to do the repairs the fee would not be charged. Scott arrived when schedule and was warm friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly determined the problem and let us know there was a part that needed to be ordered. After a week I called to follow up on the part and was told it was in. He showed up being very safe, masked up like we were. He was the nicest and most qualified technician. My ice maker was not working so I called to schedule a service appointment. They informed me that it will be a $55 service call. I was fine with the fee however my ice maker was left undiagnosed. The service tech Roman was very friendly and hospitable however he ran his tests, reset the ice maker, tested the voltage and found no issues. All I was left with was that I should replace the ice maker because "we," can't figure out what is wrong with it. My problem is that I was still charged $55 without finding out what the problem was. I didn't need to pay a company $55 to tell me more ice maker was broken. They quoted me $243 installed for a new one. I have a Samsung so I went online and ordered a new one for $115 and installed it in 5 minutes (7 screws and a plug). Not satisfied with their business model. read more

I have never ran into a company that doesn't fix and work on all major brand appliances. I have a Samsung top load washer and was told they don't work on them. I was excited to find a company with such great reviews but in less then a minute on the phone I was shut down with no suggestions as to who else to call. The best companies should always be willing to help even if that means referring you to someone else. In my opinion they need to train their people then and extend their service list. read more

I thought my washing machine had a mind of it's own. I called Appliance Works based on the reviews I read on Yelp. I got an appointment for the next day. I was given a window of time when the repairman would be here and they were right on time. Ty gave my washing machine a thorough inspection and even had me do a test load of laundry. As it turns out the machine is in perfectly good condition he just made the recommendation to use a lower spin setting. I would call Appliance Works again without hesitation. read more

3.5 stars. First, I would like to thank SRP for the monster power surge that set fire to the electrical board in my dryer. They shall be receiving my gratitude in the form of a claim for $300. Naturally, I discovered the problem on a Friday afternoon. My first call to another highly rated appliance repair business resulted in an answer of "I can probably get to it Monday or Tuesday. Text me your information." Apparently, he was too busy to collect my information or actually give me an appointment. Not to mention it would take me 27 minutes to text my address & phone on my flip phone as well as a refresher course on how to type a number. Forget it. So I called Appliance Works. They actually tried to work me in the same afternoon, but when the repairman got tied up on another call, they promptly called to let me know he would have to come the next day, a Saturday. And he did come in the window I was given. Although I assumed it was the board, he stated it was only a blown fuse and would be a mere $130 to repair. Unfortunately, he had to leave for over an hour to get the fuse. After he came back, he realized it was the board and would really be $270. He forgot that a Frigidaire had to be tested differently. I could forgive that since he was relatively young. The kicker was that the part would not be in until the following Friday. I expressed I could not wait that long and was considering just buying a new set. It was only after we asked if there was any way to get the part sooner that he offered to have it expressed. It was to get here on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went, and I did not hear from Appliance Works, so I called on Wed morning. The gal I spoke with contacted the technician and through some miscommunication advised me the tech did not know if the part was in. I wasn't happy about paying an extra $30 for rush unnecessarily. She had the tech call me himself and he clarified the part had come in on Tuesday, but not until late. He was going to confirm the right part had been ordered before calling. He did follow up and came that evening to fix it. Again, he was on time and the repair was made at the quoted price. He also gave me a detailed receipt so that I can file a claim. Although there were a few snags, Appliance Works was very accommodating in scheduling me promptly. I would definitely use their service again. read more

tl;dr - you would be STUPID not to at least give these folks a shot. actual review - I called Sears and they wanted $99 just to come out to my house. That sounded like bullshit and the market shows that it was. A very pleasant person at Appliance Works scheduled me (on Friday afternoon) for an appointment between 11a-1p on Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when Brett from Appliance Works called me at 11:15 today and asked if he could head over! You mean you're not going to waste my whole day? Of course you can come over! Brett quickly diagnosed that my ice maker needed replacing and didn't snow me on why - simply showed me the problem areas and then showed me the unit he'd replace it with. I am completely certain that replacement was required. The cost for the parts and labor was VERY fair and likely would have been twice as much or more through Sears. Brett got me sorted out in 30-40 minutes and I was not at all iffy about having him in my house. I hope to never need to call Appliance Works ever again, but if I do, they will be my first choice. read more

The refrigerator in our rental house had stopped working, so I looked to Yelp to find a repair service. Appliance Works had someone out within 24 hours. Their communication was fantastic, as they were dealing with multiple people (both myself and our renter). They came during the designated time and had the fridge working within an hour. The repairman had called me and told me exactly what caused the problem and confirmed the cost before doing the repair. After catching my microwave on fire and causing smoke damage to my home, I needed a new microwave. I looked at their reviews and sent them an email with a list of questions. I received a response right away! Within an hour I was able to pick out what I needed on their website and didn't have to go to the store. An hour after the transaction was made, a neighbor offered me a microwave and installed it! I contacted Appliance Works right away requesting a refund. I honestly didn't think I would get one. The tech was awesome and went above and beyond to try to assess/fix the problem with the least expensive solutions. He recommended that with our older fridge, we're better off buying a new one vs. investing more money with the expensive fix. We are taking his advice and appreciate the honest feedback. Appliance Works comes through again!!! My refrigerator stopped working. :( Knowing my unit was 11 years old, I was prepared to hear the compressor was shot, and to me, that would mean a new fridge. I left a message after hours, received a call the next morning minutes after they opened at 8AM, and had an appointment for later the same day. Tech called before arriving, came during the appointment window, was able to repair the unit for under $200, thereby saving me thousands in a new purchase!! I was beyond thrilled. :) Couldn't be more happy with this company. These guys truly rock. Greatly overpriced. Nice repairman. Jeff came and correctly diagnosed that the iceing kit had to be replaced on my refrigerator. He said that he'd have to get the part and would call me with a quote. I got a quote of $847, I looked up the part and found it online for $200 -$300 from reputable sites. I called back and told him what I found and asked how long it would take to repair. He said about 2 hours. AppliancePartsPros.com says that this is a moderate 2 hour job do it yourself job, so he's on target. I called another local company with high Yelp ratings that quoted $575 for parts and replace. Thanks for the diagnosis but YIKES, $500-$600 in labor cost for a 2 hour job, not for this guy. My washing machine would not drain and spin at the end of the cycle. After calling a few places, I found Appliance Works. She said their schedule was pretty full, but took my name and promised to do what she could. Within 10 minutes, I got a call back saying she could have someone out the next morning between 8-10. She even verified my model # so the repairman could have the most common parts with him. At 8:15, I got a phone call that the repairman was on his way and would be arriving in 20 minutes. Upon his arrival, he diagnosed the problem, walked me through the repairs and told me the cost upfront. Within an hour, he had the repairs made and was on his way. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 3 loads done and the machine is working like new! I've used these guys not only in my own home but in a rental I own as well. They've fixed issues with a fridge, washer, dryer and a stove. Everytime to my satisfaction. I even had one tech advise me that it would be cheaper to replace a washer I had than to fix it and advised against that type of washer in a rental as they broke down more often. Great advise and saved me some money. The service call fee is $50 and is integrated into the bill if they do work for you. These guys are pretty good. read more

But because this company apparently continues to train their employees (go figure) - they were up to date on the lates test resources and knowledge of today's appliances. So my fridge is fixed. I tried to fix our Kitchen Aid dryer to no avail. I called yesterday afternoon and Brett was able to fit me in the next morning. He called me when he was on his way and had our dryer fixed in about a half an hour. He even asked if he could borrow the vacuum we had in the laundry room to go ahead and clean up the back of dryer and get rid of some built up lint!
