Generally Applebees is a safe bet for a cold beer and quick appetizer. Good news is that the beer was cold, even though they were not serving any Bud Light, aka America's beer. Bad news is that our server forgot about us after our initial order and my glass was empty for 10 minutes before she acknowledged we might want a second beer. Nachos were the same as always taste wise, but came out like they got dropped or slid all the way over to one side. Looked bad and not very appetizing. We waited for 15 minutes and stood up at our table before our server noticed we were ready to leave. When the check came back, she had forgotten to add our second round. We left enough to cover the bill and a tip and headed out amid other customers who were complaining that they couldn't get anyone to take their money. read more

I got my name written down on the waitlist 45 minutes before close and was told they would get us in 30 minutes and that they would text me when they had a table available. I never got a text so I tried to walk in after the 30 minutes but the door was locked and I was not allowed to come in. We visited this Applebee's location on a Monday evening. They were not that busy and our party of 8 (2 adults and 6 children) were seating fairly quickly. Our waitress was pleasant through most of the night and was efficient in filling our drinks and taking our order. The problem began when we waited for 30 minutes to have the beginning of our meal brought to us. My niece received uher meal first. It took another 5+ minutes for 5 more meals to be brought to us. I noticed that they had forgotten my broccoli and the waitress said she would go get the two other meals and check on the broccoli. It took another 5+ minutes for her to bring my two young daughters their dinner (my daughters were very hungry and I let them start eating my meal until their meal showed up) and tell me that my broccoli would be out shortly. Needless to say my broccoli never made it to the table. When the waitress brought our check to the table I reminded her about the broccoli and asked to have it deducted from my check. Her response was that she never charged me for it. The broccoli was a part of my meal and not an "extra" so I asked if I was paying full price for my meal and she told me that I was. After which she accused me of not wanting the broccoli. I stated that I did want my broccoli but did not receive it and felt that I should not have to pay full price for a meal when I did not get all of my meal. She discussed all of this with the manager who very reluctantly gave me $2.50 off my $14 meal! Worst service ever at this Applebee's. We have been to Applebee's restaurants all over the US from Washington to Florida and never had an issue like this. We love Applebee's, but I will not be back to this Applebee's location in Redmond Oregon. I am very disappointed as to how I was treated and the level of service that they provided. read more

Service was slow even though they were not very busy. The food was as expected from the chain which we like. The problem with the food was we didn't get the wrap we ordered, instead we got someone else's. We just ate it anyway because we were tired and didn't want to wait. We mentioned the problem when we got the ticket. Our server immediately knew what happened, apologized and discounted the wrap. That was cool. We paid with cash, $40 for a $22.85 ticket. Ugh...worst service EVER., when we arrived there was another couple in front of us they seated them promptly ,we stood there for 5 minutes before we got seated. The only good thing about the service was that they kept filling up our limitless glass of iced tea. The only reason the food tasted good was that there was so much seasoning and salt on it you couldn't taste anything else I had the chicken with potatoes and it was somewhat dried out... We had been on the road all day and were passing through and decided yo stop for lunch. We should have just kept on going !! The place was slow and only had maybe 4 other tables of people this was around 1 pm . Restrooms were filthy !! None of the stalls had toilet paper in them and things were thrown all over the floor. Horrible experience. Had to hunt down a waitress after waiting 10 min. No beverage refills, food arrived cold, when we did request something it NEVER ARRIVED. This may have been the worst service I've ever received in my life. Being a former server myself none of what a server should do was performed. She didn't introduce herself, and forcefully demanded to know what we were ordering. She also presumed that due to our appearance we would only being ordering appetizers. I am a super easy going person and have worked in the service industry myself; this being said, I am sorry to have to pick on an establishment so harshly. My wife and I stopped in on my lunch break. We were sat promptly and the place was very clean and nice. Our waitress came over after we had sat for over ten minutes with not a hello or water to our table. When out drink order was taken we ordered lunch as well. 15 minutes later we still had no water, no drink order, and not even a glance towards us or a word toilet us know she was there. The establishment was not very busy and there were four wait staff working. We finally walked out of the restaurant without any water or service. We drove two blocks and went to the Red Dog. Try to find another place to eat! This Applebee's has the worst service ever - not due to wait staff but because of poor management planning. Even though there was an event at the adjacent fairgrounds, where it wouldn't take a genius to figure out this would result in more customers, the management failed to bring in more than four (that I saw) servers. The poor waitress serving us was tending bar for the entire restaurant plus waiting tables in the bar area (which was full) plus doing carry out. Walked here from the Comfort Suites last night. It's clean & tidy. Sat at the bar and had a drink. While reading the menu I noticed they had calorie counts on every single item. I hate to say it but seriously don't waste you're time/money here. I mean it's just Applebees so it's not like our expectations were high but it's bad. So bad. The service the food, all bad. We went here about two weeks ago and did the 2 for 25 deal. I got the ribs and my husband got the steak. He upgraded to the 8oz for like 5 dollars extra. He also got a 16oz beer. Our food took FOREVER to come out. Once it did she set his food down and the steak was maybe 4oz. She said "oh yeah we're all out of bigger steaks". Okay not a big deal but maybe something you should mention before you bring the food out. The ribs were so dry I couldn't even get the meat off the bone. Once we had our food my husband had to remind the waitress about his beer. She brought over a 22oz saying "oh the bartender poured the wrong size on accident. She brought our check and charged us for the bigger steak and the bigger beer. When I mention she still charged us for the bigger steak still she acted very annoyed and stared at our check for about five minutes. To be honest we had very low expectations for this place, based on the reviews and also on the general reputation of Applebee's. My dad is a veteran and so we decided to take advantage of their wonderful special to provide a free meal to veterans. The food was actually really good. The Bourbon Steak was tender and juicy, not the dried up mediocre steak I was expecting. My dad's burger was apparently "really delicious" as well. Mom got the ribs and they were a bit dry but the sauce was decent and she enjoyed her meal as well. The service, which I'd read was terrible, WAS GREAT. Super friendly wait staff. The food came out quickly even though they were PACKED. A pleasant evening indeed. At Applebee's of all places! Strange, but you won't find us complaining! We have friends that work there and the manager is great - when he's there and working - but we have had many, many inconsistent services there and today when we couldn't get either of the servers chatting with each other nor the bartender, who gave me eye contact twice but couldn't be bothered to leave her friends to serve...anyone...we walked out. Sorry guys. You count on us to spend $100 a month there, which will now go to some deserving place. By the way, the same thing has happened - only worse - at the Bend location. My wife and I went here as we've had good experiences at other locations but unfortunately we didn't even have the chance here. We came in on a Friday night at 9pm and the restaurant was about a little less than half full. Not exactly packed especially for a Friday night. We walked in and there was no one at the hostess station. We waited a few minutes and and then started to realize that nobody even cared we were standing there waiting to be seated. We actually waited for 7 minutes which felt like an eternity when there's nobody else waiting and nobody at the hostess station. After our 7 minute wait we simply left. If they didn't even acknowledge our presence when trying to be seated, I can't imagine what our service would've been like if we actually sat down. The evening of 12 Aug, 2013, I was part of a party of six that ate at this restaurant. The quality of the food was uneven. Some wasn't hot. The burgers were cooked to the point of being denatured, perhaps reheated. The "Applewood" bacon wasn't crisp and was inferior to Shari's. Service was pleasant, but abysmal. The server failed to bring two requested condiments, a beer, and the requested Saltines for the baby. Moreover, confused by the application of a discount voucher, the server intended to collect payment w/o a written bill! The restaurant wasn't crowded but the wait for food was long. It is REALLY hard to register a complaint. A call to the restaurant revealed that the general manager wasn't available. The email form on the Applebee's website didn't work. A call to Applebee's customer service resulted in an after-hours message at 10AM on a weekday. A call to the parent company, DineEquity, connected me to an operator who said she was directed to not connect the public with a live person. read more

I'm afraid to have a beer from the taps because the last time i did it stuffed me up so fast i couldn't even finish it (dirty lines). My son ordered the house steak (med well) and it came out black.
