I was in Rome visiting for a wedding and stayed at a nearby Airbnb. After driving all day from NC, we didn't feel like going out, so we order from this Applebees using DoorDash. The orders ranged from ribeye steak, sirloin steak, chicken Alfredo, and French dip sandwich. The order was prepared much more quickly than I expected and since I was less than a mile away, it arrived hot and steamy. The steaks were cooked pretty close to how we ordered them and seasoned nicely. My daughter said the Alfredo was pleasant. I can't speak to the actual brick and mortar store or the ambience inside, but DoorDash orders can be complex and the food not so great when it travels a few miles; especially if other orders are delivered before yours. I found the food to be fantastic and flavorful. No complaints at all! read more

We visited this Applebees for lunch today. I've never been so disappointed and annoyed at the same time. Kelsey was our server, according to the receipt (because she never told us her name). We waited about 10 minutes to even get Kelsey over to get our drink order. We thought we would try the pickle fries because they looked great on the menu. We received a handful of pickle fries, mostly broken in pieces, in total maybe about 12-14 fries. We asked our server if this was really $8 worth of food and she said yes and there was nothing she could do about it. We were very hungry and so we ordered our food and waited an additional 35 minutes before it came out. We ordered 2 grilled cheese burgers and 1 Tex mex bowl. You wouldn't think 2 of the same dish and a rice bowl would take so long, but it did. When we went to pay the bill, Kelsey discouraged us from completing the survey on the credit card receipt machine and that really annoyed me. Take a look at the pictures and see if you think we got a good deal- to me we got ripped off and had a bad server. We'll never return to this Applebees again. We will also tell everyone we know to stay away from this place. read more

The family likes Applebee's so we ate here. Had 2 for $20 and 2 for $25 meal choices. Waitress was very young but pleasant. She tried hard. Took a long time to get our food, (is slow when u in de south?) could have been faster but okay. Soup, salads, cheese sticks and bbq was very tasty. Beer kept us amused as we waited for our meals. Walked in on a Saturday evening early around 6 p.m. Multiple groups waiting at hostess stand with no hostess in sight. Not busy at all. Seated first 2 couples right away after hostess showed up 10 minutes later. Told group of 5 ahead that it would be 25-30 minutes for a table. Also told us it would be 25-30 minutes for a table for 2 even though there was a ton of tables available. We walked out and won't be back. read more

If you've been to one Applebee's, you've been to them all. Can I get a witness? Look, Applebee's isn't anything wonderful. It won't knock your socks off. If you had guests coming in from out of town, Applebee's would not be anywhere near your "Er-mer-GERD you gotta try this!" list. Still, it's inoffensive. It's like the Maroon 5 of restaurants. Everyone can handle it as background music, but I bet you don't know any truly rabid fans. Applebee's works the same way. Chances are even if you were traveling with a group of 200 people, every single one could find something unobjectionable on the menu. Their Perfect Margaritas come pretty close to living up to that title, and it's nostalgic for me, because when I was an undergrad at Berry, Applebee's really was the only show in town if you wanted something other than beer. The food has that familiar chain restaurant quality of tasting like it was probably frozen and warmed up, but what the hey. That'll do, Pig, that'll do. read more

A good Applebee's. Yes it's a chain restaurant but that's okay. I guess you could just expect the same food quality that you get at any Applebee's. Service was decent, and the hostess seated us quickly. Their lunch menu was kind of disappointing and only offered Monday-Saturday. They do, however, have the 2 for $20 deal (two entrees and appetizer) which isn't bad. The spinach and artichoke dip is pretty creamy and good. read more

I've been dining at Applebee's for many many years. I love the ribs and the riblets and the riblet platter's. Another one of my favorites is the fiesta lime chicken. The Mexican rice that goes with it is awesome I truly recommend any of these dishes. I also like their cocktails in the house Long Island iced tea is inexpensive strong and will do The trick. Overall it was a decent experience. I had the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp and my boyfriend had the quesadilla burger. Our waitress had a whole meltdown for being called "ma'am " and would ignore us because she was too busy sitting in the booth next to us talking to customers which I guess were family. I will never return to this location. My last visit resulted in a 3 day sickness from the boneless wings I ordered. The service was poor I never saw the same waitress, they were all unorganized and seamed like they could care less about there tables. The tables were sticky and booth seats were filled with crumbs. I'm not the person to typically leave reviews like this. I've worked through the pandemic in the service industry as a server,bartender and a manager. First, I want to start off by saying our server Brittany was OUTSTANDING!! She was very receptive and consistently checking on us. Seriously she is the only reason this experience was decent. Other than that everything else was awful. The wait time to be seated was terrible. I understand that they're obviously short staffed, but the inconsistency of wait times caused many customers to leave. The alcoholic drinks weren't any better. My friend and I ordered the Tipsy Leprechaun and it was horrific. The amount of lime juice overpowered the entire drink. Also, I don't think that Jameson was put in it because you couldn't even taste it. The food was pretty great. Any mistakes that were made Brittany was on top of it and made sure we got what we needed. We decided to try the Mutiny Oasis and it was the worst drink I've ever had. Again, Brittany made sure we were taken care of and gave us the absolutely best service! The bartender was very disrespectful not only towards us but towards Brittany as well and she's just doing her job. She deserves a raise or a promotion because she genuinely did a wonderful job! After the Braves baseball game is over, restaurant options are very very slim in Rome. Needless to say we've been to this Applebees ALOT after the games end. Literally each time we go, the service and waitresses are shitty. Occasionally the food isn't that great either. Tonight we got stuck with yet another slow waitress with horrible manners. I also watched the host ask every table around us if she could get them anything- everyone except our table. We ended up asking for to-go boxes not long after the food arrive. Our original waitress never seemed to even come back to our table (3 other waiters came by) until we asked for our check. That took another 20 minutes. It didn't help that we were seated next to a family with unruly kids (not Applebees fault- but it further put me in an irritable mood). I ended up leaving to go wait in the car before I told someone off. We're usually pretty chill and understanding. Like, we know how it is when it's a busy/crazy night. We get it. But tonight wasn't that busy, so what's the excuse for such poor service? I'm never coming back here again. I'm just over this place. I mean, it's clearly not going to get better. We went to Applebee's this past Friday late evening around 7:45 pm and this is absolutely the worst run establishment I have set foot in. There was one older couple ahead of us who got there before we did. We were told it would be 20-25 minutes. We waited 45 minutes watching 10+ tables walk out and the restaurant was almost empty. Multiple people left because of the wait time. At 45 minutes we were told it would be another 15. Keep in mind the couple ahead of us we're told 20-25 minutes and had waited over an hour at this point. With a screaming toddler (who I would have not made wait) had the staff explained and updated us that the wait time given originally had been very much extended but they failed to do so. At the point of 45 minutes I spoke with the manager Talon. Who was not only incompetent in customer service and how to treat the customers but was also very arrogant and gave me one word answers to why the wait had changed, why we had not been notified, and that we would not be sat even due to his staff's negligence to communicate with the customers. I asked for the corporate number and he said "make sure you tell them my name, Talon." Which I replied I would let them know after all my years of working in restaurants this was unbelievably poor management and ran horribly. Talon then replied as I walked out the door to not come back in front of my family as well as all the other customers. We ended up going to Steak 'n Shake. Who welcomed us warmly and we received much better service there vs this poorly run establishment. Corporate should be ashamed of this location considering the fast food next door is tan better than this sit down restaurant. read more

My husband and I have never in our lives experienced such terrible customer service at a restaurant. We were seated immediately, however we waited 20 minutes for anyone to even come to our table to ask if we wanted anything to drink. When they finally came and asked we both asked for water. Waited ten more minutes, and watched the man who took our drink order walk by 3 times empty handed getting other customers change. So we left. Absolute shit. And then the lady at the door had the audacity to say "have a good day" on our way out. Well, lady, would have been a whole lot better if we had actually gotten any kind of service. We have been going back to Applebees after several years of not going due to bad staff and nastiness. The food has been very good and service is good during the week. On weekends and especially Sunday it is terrible. We went in to eat (Sunday night) and notice there were only five tables with people. We stood at the front several minutes before anyone came. A waitress took a couple to be seated and we waited again. Finally a girl came up she ask if a high top would be ok. We agreed then the waitress walked up and said she wasn't ready. She had no tables she was waiting on. The greater looked at her puzzled and ask why. The rude waitress told us she didn't like to have kids on high tops but if we were ok with it she would wait on us. We turned and walked out! Applebees was a great place to go for years then they let servers in that rather talk to each other and ignore guest. Well I guess it hasn't changed. I will not go back. I notice their health score was 88 B that should have been my first clue. It's a shame to lose a great restaurant to bad management. Wish someone would turn it around. read more

Order Curbside TO Go last night. Waited over 10 minutes, and ended up having to call, for someone to bring out my order. I arrived 5 minutes after the recommended time too. We ordered a bowl of soup which ended up being a cup and the croutons had been in the soup for so long that it was just a disgusting mushy mess that looked like puke. All of the rest of our food was cold to the point that we had to warm it up. Very disappointed. read more

The food was fine, came out timely. BUT we had to wait 20 minutes to catch the hostess to ask if our server was coming. Then waited another 10 minutes and finally came over, so we ordered both drinks and food. After that, our food came and then we waited for 30 MINUTES for her to run our card so we could leave. She was having a casual conversation at a few booths over, while the rest of the staff was sitting at the bar talking and being rowdy. I finally went over to the bar and asked if I could just check out there since I had been waiting for so long, and the reply I got was "I don't know". So I handed my card over and went back to the booth, PASSING our server still having a conversation with the other booth. Waited another 10 minutes until the manager came over and asked if we were okay and I told him what was happening. His response was "oh, heard" (slang for oh shit) and he walked off. Bartender was loud and obnoxious (flipping his tumbler around like he was Tom in "cocktail", and hooting like Rick Flair. ) also, like Chili's they took chicken fried steak off of the menu (should be a crime in the south to not have that in any restaurant ). I will never eat at the Applebee's in Rome again. Tonight me and my wife went out to have a date night. We got to the restaurant and had to wait for our waitress for 10 mins before she showed up to our table. We then ordered there new two for 8.99 appetizers. We were brought there beer cheese pretzels and had to wait on our salsa verde nachos. When we got our nachos my wife noticed that they were covered with rotten lettuce. We asked to speak to the manager who was polite, and apologetic he tried to explain that the lettuce was just heated so it looked like it was bad my wife then pointed out that the lettuce was cold to the touch. So the manager then took the nachos back to be fixed when he returned they were missing half of the toppings the first set came with. We were hungry so we let it slide. After we finished our appetizers we waited 20 mins for our main course to arrive. When our meals came I was excited to try the new brew pub philly! So I decided to dig in. I took my first bite to bite into some of the meals prep paper. I immediately requested the manager to come back. After waiting for 10 mins he finally came to see what was wrong with my meal. He started off joking about how the kitchen staff had it out for us, which I thought was extremely rude then offered to fix my food for the second time tonight. I told him that I didn't trust them to get it right and comped our meal. I will never eat again at the Applebee's in Rome. This Applebee's used to be really great but last time I went here I had to wait 45min to be seated I ordered a 16oz steak that was smaller than what I ordered the steak tasted like it was frozen and did not have any flavor at all when I asked is this really a 16oz steak was told yes that it's a value sized steak the waitress barely came around to refill my drink and the juke box was blasting music I could barely hear my friends talk. Also you are a steakhouse your steak should be on point and be really good if I want a steak I can go to Walmart and get my steak and grill it myself. I honestly don't see this establishment staying up and running very long if so it's just for the alcohol. Not worth the time or money I wouldn't even leave a tip read more

Me and my wife went here for a drink, we wait for a wile for a table, it was Friday night and this is one of a few restaurants in Rome that open late so everyone looks like is there. Since we wait for a wile we order drinks and also food. Food was pretty good, I order shrimp and my wife pasta the waitress was really nice and very attentive he came and give refills and ask like two or three time if we need anything else. When I get this kind of service I don't mind to wait in a line even if is just for a drink. We definitely will go back one of this nights. read more
