I placed an online order for a Blackened Cajun Salmon around 6:45 Sunday evening. Per the online notification, my order would be ready in about 20 minutes. Therefore, I decided to run down the street to gas up at Sam's before retrieving the order. By the time I got to Applebees my order should've been ready per the approximate time given at confirmation of order. I walk inside, no one at curbside podium. I moved to bar, and the bartender doesn't even recognize me. I am standing there with my young son for about 3 minutes before a young lady who was standing with a group of employees having a conversation finally comes over and ask if I have a to go order. I said yes and provided my name when asked. She proceeds to check the ready orders and then goes to kitchen when she didn't see an order for me. While in the kitchen I hear her say to someone In the back that the person for the salmon is here. She then comes back out and advises that they were out of salmon, and inquired if I wanted a replacement. I advise no, and request a refund. She brings back out the manager, and he goes through a whole spill about how they normally don't run out, but there was a big promotion and they had an order go out right before he could update the system. In a hurry to get my son his meal at this time, I became a bit agitated and advised I just needed to get a refund so I could get my son's meal somewhere else at this point. He then asked if I wanted a replacement to which I responded I don't, because my son's diet wouldn't allow a deviation at that point. The next day when I returned home (I was only passing through), I noticed that my refund hadn't been received. I call the location and ask for a manager. Michael comes to the phone, and advises that he's not the same manager I spoke to on Sunday. I express to him that I was disappointed with the lack of communication prior to me getting to the location and that I hadn't received my refund. He responds by saying that my refund should be received in 2-3 days, and then asked when I planned on coming back to the restaurant. I advised that I didn't live in the area, to which his response was that the only thing he was able to do for the inconvenience was to offer a discount for the next time I ordered from that location. The fact that I know it's possible for a gift card to be provided in that instance was just the cherry on top of a terrible experience. Update: I was contacted by Donald, the other manager at the location. I explained to him my disappointment with how my situation was handled and he offered me a gift card for the inconvenience. read more

Verry disappointed with this establishment. Our writers Trinity was very rude and seemed like she was more interested at standing behind the bar. She brought us our drinks then took out order and we didn't see her till we left. Empty glasses for my meal. The food was okay but not what was advertised, I got a burger that was suppose to have lettuce, tomatoes, onion ect. None of that was on my burger. I just want to thank Tom. Came in on a work trip, long day of travel, and this was the closest restaurant to the hotel. I was greeted immediately, sat very quickly, and he was immediately attentive to my needs. Like not only did he take my drink order ( old fashioned), but immediately let me know that he did not have the normal cherries that would accompany an old fashioned. Then he made a darn good old fashioned. We started up a casual conversation about bourbon, then we started talking about smoked sugars, which woods are best to smoke with bourbon , etc. Like this is the first real conversation I have had with anyone at an Applebees in over 10 years, probably longer. Would not necessarily recommend this place, the food wasn't terrible but the service was our waiter did not introduce themselves and there was loud music playing from the kitchen. We finished our food and were told that they would be back with the check, we waited for the check for about 30 minutes watching the employees talk and chat to each other. I had to microwave it in the hotel Suite two minutes which burn it but at least cooked the inside. My husband did not get half of his meal and had to make a trip back Twice so that was a total of three times and still didn't get all that he ordered correctly. I don't usually write reviews, but the experience I had at Applebee's thanks to Mariah was absolutely worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, Mariah made us feel like VIPs. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for every guest were impossible to miss. Being from out of town this has been the best restaurant experience we have had in years. She went above and beyond to ensure our food was perfect, our server had everything covered, and any small issue was handled immediately with a smile and grace. It's rare to see someone lead with such energy and heart, and it clearly inspires the whole team. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming, and it was obvious that Mariah sets a high standard--not just for service, but for kindness and respect. If every restaurant had a manager like Mariah, dining out would be a five-star experience every time. I used to like Applebees but i just can't anymore with them. It's like they've given up especially this one in rock hill. I've been twice I think and it's always dead inside and no one is working. Service is very underwhelming and the food just isn't as good as I've had at other Applebees back in Maryland. I don't know I just don't really go to chains anymore anyway. So will not be back. I went to the Rockhil Applebee's after work on May 1 Ciera B was amazing. Told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes and it was told me I could wait outside. She would bring it out. Wanted to wait for me to check my order and make sure it was correct. She said she checked it herself this is the first time I had my order perfect. I usually am missing my extra maxi ranch sauce, she was pleasant and accurate. I hope I get her next time. read more

The lady who sat us was very rude she said (before we could get a word out) "you are going to need to be patient" both confused we just said "okay?" And sat down she told us our server was going to be a minute then brought us menus. What a woman...smh. Thank God our server was MUCH more polite. She came over and explained everything with a positive attitude and took our orders. Good job! She literally turned the entire experience into something completely unexpected from when we initially came in... I stopped by Applebee's tonight with my family. We ordered an appetizer, and it was not even warm. My son ordered the double neighborhood burger. To my surprise, it was 1 burger patty cut in half. Only filled half the bun. Sent back and got something else. I ordered bourbon street chicken with shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes. When it came out it was swimming in grease, and I had loaded mashed potatoes, which I didn't want. I tried to eat it but couldn't. The onion rings my husband ordered was hard. Convenient stop for Lunch at exit 79 Off I-77. Easy access & parking less than a 1/4 mile. Lots of drink & food choices at a reasonable price. I had the Grilled Chicken & Shrimp with saltee mushrooms & onions served with mashed potatoes. I'm from out of town and was highly disappointed to learn they don't offer free kids meals on Tuesdays despite it being online as one of the local restaurants that offer it. Had a 15 minute wait time to get seated, after she stated it would only be a 5 minute wait. There were only 5 families seated in the entire restaurant. Ordered Shirley temples, and they came back with sweet tea with sprite mixed together. And water with white foamy chunks that sank to the bottom. We ordered appetizers and it took minimum of 45 minutes to come out. Fries were stale, and mozzarella sticks were cold and the cheese was not melted. After about 30 minutes of having the appetizers the waiter came and asked if we had received our check, however we had ordered meals and did not receive them. We waited another hour to receive our meal. When we got our meal we did not get any silverware and plates and it took 2 waiters and 10 minutes to get extra plates and silverware. After about 20 minutes we received the check, and they had complications with the card and had to get 4 employees to swipe the card. We love Apple Bee's, but varies from restaurant to restaurant. The service at this Apple Bee's left more to be desired. The parking lot wasn't very full, we walked in with a couple in front of us & behind us. The inside looked near empty, maybe 5-6 families seated & a couple around the bar. We waited 5 minutes & the couple in front of us was seated, then we waited another 10-15 minutes, we decided to go elsewhere, as we was walking out, the hostess told us that it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. With a near empty Apple Bee's, the wait and service was unacceptable. The food probably would have been just like the service. I'm sorry to write this type of review. The lady that sat us at the table also bought a plate to us. We had a server her initials T. D. (young lady) she was nice and welcoming but that didn't last long. The young lady that sat us in bought out my plate first and a few minutes later T. D. bought out my husband's plate. Both plates should come at the same time. After that T. Pros: Good food and drinks. My mudslide (which I needed after a pretty stressful work week) was super delicious, as was my pasta dish and our mozzarella stick appetizer. Cons: The service is kind of erratic, and slow AF. Yesterday, being seated proved to be a problem as it took the hostess ten minutes to seat a party of five, and then took her sweet time doing God knows what before getting to us, and then she seated us at the bar when I saw plenty of booths available (including two right next to each other just ahead of the waiting area as my husband and I made our way to the bar). The staff could have been a little more attentive, especially after we got our check and waited for someone to run our card. I'm not saying anything new here. Other people have said the same thing I have: good food, poor service. The service was as bad as it gets. Waitress was inattentive to our needs, only checking on us when we flagged her down. When we arrived, we waited an inordinate amount of time for someone to even acknowledge our presence and get us seated. Once seated, We asked how big the regular beer was and how large the Brutus was only to be answered by " I'm not a bartender, I don't know". It's obvious that the training of staff is, at best, poor. We love other Applebee's and the food is great and reasonably priced, but this franchise is, without doubt, the worst. First off, let me start by saying I will never come back to this establishment again, and neither should you. Also, I had to give at-least 1 star but this place deserves a negative 5... My girlfriend and I are both white and the rude service started off right away because we are white. When we arrived the restaurant was "dead" and there was plenty of open booths however, the hostess (5'8 African American, didn't get her name) chose a table near the bar. I didn't think anything of it at first. Later on, when more people I arrived, I noticed that if you were African American you got a booth, no matter what. There was an older white couple that came in later and guess what.... they got a table. The service was so bad and they noticed right away unlike us. They left after no one came to them for 10+ minutes. I don't blame them. We should have done the same thing because I couldn't eat half of my supposed to be medium steak but turned out well done. There was no blood at all and was very tough on the edges, couldn't even chew through it. The only good thing about this place was our waitress, Emma F. (Who was also white) She was outstanding and received a 20%+ tip. I went to Applebees cause I like the oriental salad. it came out with chicken cold and on bad lettuce. sent it back and chicken was warm but still old discolored salad. the wait time was extreme. the waiter was great but kitchen food not. it just insults me to get the same salad twice the same way except for warm chicken. ordered what waiter suggested, it was good but we were there for 2 hrs. I guess kitchen help got upset over me returning the salad, twice, but honestly it insulted me to get the salad in the same condition, like I would eat that. One of the worst apple bees to go to. I had to wait over 30 mins for my smoothie and when i finally get my smoothie it had chucks of ice in it so i sent it back to get blended more. When i ordered my food i let the waiter know i wanted no mushrooms with my food and it still came with mushrooms which was fine bc i just sent it back to be made again but instead of remaking my food they just gave me the same food just took the mushrooms off and brought it back 5 minutes later. I still saw small pieces of mushrooms on my plate so i got upset since i had been waiting over an hour all together and was the last to get my food at the table. Horrible customer service also. My boyfriend and I went to Applebee's Rock Hill Sc today we ordered steaks and an app. The wings were hard and old .my boyfriend ordered a steak med well mine was supposed to be med ..they both were well done ,dry,and awful. Nats were everywhere the C.O machine was broke and we couldn't get a soda just overall horrible experience. To top it off the manager offered us 20 $ off our next visit my boyfriend told her we would not be back so she gave us 10 $ off the crap we couldn't eat .I will never eat at Applebee's again .Horrible food horrible management .. no wonder there is never a wait to get a seat !!!!! read more
