First time to this location. I wanted to watch the Packers vs Viking. Party of one so I sat at the bar. The staffs were all accommodating and attentive. As far as the food. I ordered 6 wings garlic Parmesan and roasted Brussels sprouts with balsamic and bacon. The wings didn't have garlic at all and very little Parmesan. So I would give it a 3/5. Same with the Brussels. Can't taste the balsamic. All in all. A really good place for a cold beer, watch some sports and great customer service. It's not overly crowded. Which I like. Guess I'll have to try something else on the menu next time. read more

Went in for dinner last night and ordered lemon pepper wings as an appetizer. I had to ask my server if he forgot to say LEMON PEPPER because the wings tasted plain and void of any LEMON or PEPPER! There for Valentine's Day early lunch. We arrived at 11am and were the first to be served. Ordered hamburger and tots. Asked for mayo and mustard and onions on the side. Order came out with mushrooms on burger and waitress put mason my burger inside of on the side. Tater tots were cold! I had a late meeting, that didn't include food ; therefore I was on the hunt. Kudos to Hickory Tavern for being open until 11pm. Hobos, Tavern on Tracks, etc all close at 10pm. I could have walked in those places at 9:44 and ordered but I wouldn't appreciate it so I don't do it. Shannon, the bartender, suggested a great Cabernet not the most expensive to increase her tip. Shannon helped me select the fish and chips (actual house made chips & ranch) and it was spot on! Either I was hungry or it was quite appetizing! Sorry no photo but I'm sure the 9oz pour and the freshly made fish were reorder-worthy. & order your rolls and 1st cause trying to order them at 11pm was a negative. My family ate here for my niece's 7th birthday lunch on July 23rd. We enjoyed our experience very much. Our server Debuion was a delight and very attentive. She kept us laughing and by the end of the meal my 3 little nieces were running up to give her goodbye hugs. She also interacted with my brother who has autism and is non-verbal. She spoke directly to him and made him feel like he was part of things; you wouldn't believe how rare that can be! The family and I came here on a Sunday and was seated immediately. The server Will, was awesome had great recommendations and humor. The menu is pretty decent, with specialty burgers, oysters, shrimp and even pasta's. My wife had a prickly pear drink which she says we very tasty. Overall not a bad place and the food and staff was super friendly. Will be back to try one of the specialty burgers. The wings were really good. We've been to this location twice in the past three years. Both times we've had terrible service. On our recent visit, one waitress took our drink order/delivered our drinks and then disappeared. Another waitress showed up and took our app order and then completely abandoned our table. 20 minutes later I flagged down the manager. He was very kind and produced a waitress to take our order and came with our appetizer as well. It had clearly been languishing under the heat lamp for some time, but he comped it so it is what it is. The third waitress was actually very good, but the food still took forever. Our plan for a quick dinner turned into close to two hours. Oh well. My teenager was the first to point out that the service is probably so slow because the waitresses seemed to be doing a lot of standing around and talking rather than actually working. Went here for dinner during a recent visit to our Son and Daughter-in-law's house. It looks like a sports bar, and would be a great place to watch a game, but the dining experience was pretty average. For appetizers, we tried the chips n salsa, and the pretzel bites, both of which are very good. For the entree, my wife had buffalo chicken tacos. Think of a half chicken breast or very large chicken finger, inside a taco shell. It wasn't diced or cut up or anything, so a little tough to eat, but she said the flavor was good. I had the fried grouper, which was not good at all. The greasy breading was completely falling off the pieces of fish (it wasn't even a whole piece of fish....but rather a number of smaller pieces), and it was a mess to try to eat. All that would have been okay if it had a good taste. But it didn't. The steak fries were very good....all 10 of them. Service was okay, but the wait time for the food was pretty slow. Overall, there were some very good things, and some pretty bad, so I end up with an average rating. read more

Everything I have had here is good. Great atmosphere and good beer. A little pricey for bar food but worth it. My only complaint is that they have had a beer on tap for months and everytime I request it, they say something is wrong with the tap. read more

We found Matt! Matty has always been a fantastic server the last place is at a loss for a golden guy like him! As we got in it was the typical Hickory Tavern that we had been to twice before and weren't really too enthusiastic about it being the same...waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after we were seated and after contemplating leaving since we had been waiting so long CJ who ended up being our server had saw how upset we were and came over as soon as he caught eye contact with me and asked us if everything was okay. We asked for Matt and ordered but he didn't know who Matt was. Our food arrived 22 minutes later which is pretty good time so there obviously were some training or replacements in the kitchen. Matt sported is and came over and that just made the whole experience that much better. Now that I know for a fact he works here we will be back and will be looking forward to sit in his section. I already told several of my colleagues and they are all looking for the best server in rock hill! Also, cj is a very respectfully southern young man....in Matt's absence I wouldn't mind being waited on by him either. read more
