Adam, kept up on refills that I dubbed him the refill king, he checked on us often, the restaurant was clean, even the bathrooms. My husband had a delicious bourbon street mushroom Swiss burger and fries, without asking he brought in fry sauce too! I had the triple appetizer player with pretzels, wings and wonton tacos, everything so delicious! We shared a dessert! This is the closest Applebee's to my house and we eat here maybe 2-3 times per year. While I want to like it and strive to keep coming back, the places tastes like sadness and poor decisions. Nobody seems to want to be here. Employees, guests, nobody. There is nothing upbeat about the restaurant and it is eerily quiet every time we visit. Decor is extremely dated and the large bar area looks like renovations have been taking place for the past decade. It is HUGE and EMPTY. I get having a bar in Utah is challenging with the liquor laws here but at this point, tear it out and add more tables. Or a pinball machine. Or a salad bar. Something that makes sense. Food is mediocre and very bland. They DO have an Oriental Chicken Salad that is pretty legit and if you add a little more dressing to it, the dish really shines. Other items we have tried are average at best and flavorless at worst. One day I hope to come in and have something that doesn't make me regret my decision. My partner and I went on a double date here and there were three waiters helping us and every single one of them treated us like crap. The first waiter was a women and she was just really short with us and treated us like we were stupid. Which I didn't appreciate in the slightest. Visited in October, and I know it's been a while, but here we go. I took my daughter and then fiancé out the night prior to their wedding, and it was a very good experience. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Our server was friendly and helpful. We were seated right away, and welcomed by our server immediately. Since it's a chain restaurant I tend not to give excellent ratings unless something or someone has done something exceptional. We called in to ask for an estimated wait and they said they couldn't give it over the phone. Not allowed, whatever that means. We were told to check Yelp. So we did. We got here and we're promptly and somewhat rudely told that Yelp isn't accurate and it would be a longer wait. Something that would have been really easy to say over the phone. The hostess was rude to us and other customers we saw come in while we were waiting. I get that Father's Day is a hectic day, but when the first person you interact with upon entering the building is rude it makes you want to just go somewhere else. Today I went to Applebees with my family and what we received was very bad. We have been to applebees many times before but we all tried something new. When we go we normally get the wings and tacos and love it. The staff there is always wonderful and very kind. Me and my dad decided to get the 2 for $27 deal. It either comes with 2 salads or an appetizer to start. We choose the appetizer and got Onion Rings. It was a great amount of Onion Rings to share with my family of four, the Onion Rings came with a dipping sauce. For our main meal I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken. It is grilled chicken with a zesty lime sauce and drizzled with tangy Mexi-ranch, it is then covered in a cheddar cheese on a bed of crispy tortilla strips. When it came out it was very hot and I had to wait for it to cool down. When I finally got to eat it I squeezed the lemon on both the chicken and the rice to give it extra flavor. The Spanish Rice was very dry and have very little flavor. The chicken on the other had had very strong flavor and the Mexi-ranch sauce was very delicious. I did not like the tortilla strips on the bottom of the chicken. Over all I would not order this again due to more than half of it being wasted. The rest of my family did not love their meals either. My brothers pizza was very doughy and had little cheese. My dads pasta had awful flavor and was very runny for mac and cheese. My mom loved her Wonton tacos but she always gets those. read more

My husband & I just got back from supper at the Riverdale Road Applebee's. Normally we have gone there for lunch or for the before 5:30 pm specials. We ordered the 2 for $25 which for my husband he ordered the 6 oz. sirloin steak with the garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli and I ordered the chicken breast and the garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My order was enjoyable but my husband said the only thing that really tasted good was the broccoli. Too much garlic in the potatoes for him and the sirloin steak lacked flavor and taste. He wished he had ordered a burger. I guess you win some and lose some. Our server David was pleasant and helpful. There was some on going noise and commotion about 10 feet away from us. It looked like the patrons were two young women maybe late teens or early twenties sitting in a booth almost done eating. They seemed fine until a male server kept going over there to them and chatting with them. Then the girls must of liked the attention and began to get louder with their voices and laughing. When that server fella would walk a way the girls quieted down. But then he would go back to their table and two women servers joined in the visiting. My husband finally had to take out his hearing aids because the noise was too much. It looked like the servers did not have enough work to do because clearly they were just visiting and carrying on and making us uncomfortable. As we were leaving we asked to see the manager. My husband stated his issue with Applebee's for the night. The manager listened and gave a nod to my husband but as we left the restaurant my husband & I both agreed that manager did not care whether we were happy or not. We felt like the noise maker young women and the servers were chosen over us. My husband is a Vietnam Veteran and I am a retired RN. We have enjoyed coming here for lunch in the past. I tend to eat at Applebee's every here and there. I used to eat at s quite often. They are always busy, this is a fact. I have came in the morning, afternoon and night. Weekdays and weekends, they are just always busy. Usually doesn't ever take long to get seated though. That's good. I will say customer service is just a little bit slow. That's cos they stay busy and that's okay. I don't think this place is spacious, all locations seem so crowded when there's a full house, a bit suffocating like there isn't any air. The bathrooms are relatively clean expect for customers throwing their napkins everywhere besides the trash, but other than that it's sanitary. Today I ordered off the neat 2 for 25 , and one appetizer of 2 side salads. I for the 6 oz sirloin medium steak, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, and a side of sweet chili Asian boneless wings. Let's start with the steak, I can't stress enough how the chefs back there know how to cook a steak. It always comes out perfect here but when I go to an actual steakhouse it's always wrong. That I like. It was nice and flavorful as well, and very filling. The broccoli though? Salty, it was weird. I like broccoli but not salty broccoli. The garlic mashed potatoes? Bland, but that's usually how I like them, but don't name them garlic mash and have it bland. The texture was perfect and potato skins excellent though. The boneless wings? Sauce was too thick and sweet. Definitely not the sweet chili sauce I like. & I tried the $1 hurricane cos hey why not? Basically over sweetened Minute Maid fruit punch or berry flavor is what it taste like to me. I would always recommend Applebee's to anyone. It's a classic. read more

Finally got food from Applebee's via the DoorDash app. I ordered the "build your own appetizer" with pretzels & beer cheese, tortilla soup, taco-covered queso, and mozzarella sticks. I also got garlic mashed potatoes, chips and salsa and potato soup on the side to round the price up to free delivery. Yeah, I'm not a skinny person. Anyway, the chips and salsa were really good. Everything else was a total Salt bomb. Whoever their chefs are REALLY like their salt. The potato soup had zero potatoes in it. The tortilla soup was pretty good, though it mostly tasted like corn. I recently was contacted by an owner or manager (I'm not sure) about my previous negative reviews and offered a gift card. I will try one more time, will get the burbon street steak again, which is one of my favorites. We'll see how that goes. But if anyone from this location reads this, man. Please tell your chefs to lay off the heavy salt. read more

Fantastic!! I'm not one for visiting the typical "family friendly" restaurants like this very much, but I was blown away. I was a little leery of the low yelp rating that it showed as of this review, but we took a chance because it was a close location; we were not disappointed! We were promptly seated, and it didn't take long at all for our server Brittainy to come to our table and greet us. We knew what we wanted (their new all you can eat shrimp/riblets/tenders), so we were able to order right away. It only took about a minute to get our drinks, and about 8-10 minutes after that to get our food. It was hot and delicious and exceeded our expectations! And they started on our refills for the all you can eat stuff before we were half done with our plates. Zero complaints!! Definitely coming here again in the future! I have to stay out by saying I have always loved coming to this Applebee's in Riverdale, UT however after tonight I will never eat here again. And I will be telling everyone I know to do the same. I came for a night out with my family and ordered an oriental 'crispy' chicken salad. Whenever we go to Applebee's, my mom and I always order the ' 'crispy' oriental chicken salad. They brought out our food and handed me a 'grilled' oriental chicken salad. I let them know that I had ordered a crispy chicken salad. Our server, Zoey, said to me that I ordered a grilled chicken salad. I told her again that I had ordered the crispy chicken. She stated, I can bring you a crispy chicken, but you did order the grilled chicken, very rudely. At this point she was arguing with me about what I ordered and trying to point out that I was wrong and she was right. That's when I got really mad and told them to just give me the salad, I wasn't going to argue with her. With no question or further discussion, they put the plate down in front of me and continued on. My family asked me if I wanted to switch it for what I ordered, which they had also heard me order. I told them, "No, I will just write a Yelp review." I said this as Zoey walked by, which made her turn around and ask sweetly, "Are you sure I can't switch your salad for you?" I can't believe that a server would act like this and argue with a customer and then turn around and act that way because I said I'd write a review. My mom was also upset because she felt as though she was rushing us after that. Half of us were still eating and she asked us if we needed any boxes. Then she asked my mom and our friend, "oh, are you girls still picking at that?" Which made them feel like they should have been done and that we should be leaving at that point. I waited 15 minutes with an empty glass before she refilled my drink, even though she filled the rest of the table's drinks. And she didn't ask us if we wanted dessert. She wanted us out of there! I am not kidding when I say we avoid dining at places that have that crappy store Kraft dressing.. years ago Applebee's had fantastic ranch and blu cheese dressing, and then all of the sudden they turned to the crap tasting store bought out of a bottle ranch and blu cheese, so over the past 12 years or more we haven't gone to Applebee's much. Today we went for lunch and my little boy got wings and ranch, and I could tell by looking at it, it was "Good" dressing! Thank you so much for bringing it back. We will be coming more often now.
