Worst service ever! The place was empty yet we were ignored for ten minutes. I worked for Applebee's for four years so I can say... This place is NOT up to corporate standards! Came here passing through on our way to WA. It was not a horrible experience but not a great one. Got there and customers were waiting on the hostess , so we waited and then more came and waited. many waitresses seen the line of customers but... nobody came up, or said welcome, we'll be right with you. minutes later finally the hostess who seem to be missing for quite some time showed up. granted, it seemed as if they were not used to having many people or a busy night so they seemed kind of flustered. however a simple smile or greeting goes a long way. At least the hostess after making customers wait should have apologized, NOPE nada. - after being seated we got our drinks and ordered dinner, got the drinks and server left. He seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people who showed up for other parties. So much so didnt come back until after dinner was ready to be brought to us and served. after dinner was served we had to wait to get utensils because we were never given any so well our food sat in front of us we were unable to eat unless we used our hands?! that was frustrating. finally someone came by and we were able to ask for utensils. we ate our meal and then we left. was this a horrible experience? no. Was it something I would come back to you if I lived in this area? definitely not. I'm just glad that we were just passing through and it wasn't a super horrible experience... but after driving for a long time and just wanting to relax and have dinner experience wasn't the best. Food wasn't too tasty but it kept us feeling fed. Bathrooms need some cleaning up. They need better customer service training. Everyone arrived by 5:40ish and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that happy hour lasts until 6. 5:58 and still waiting for our order to be taken. Flagged down the manager to get our drink and app order in before 6: "No problem" he says, we'll get the happy hour prices. Placed our dinner order as well. 6:30 before we see apps. 6:40 when we get our dinners. And the bill did not reflect happy hour prices until we asked that it be corrected. Pretty funny that the "server's" initial response was that we weren't there before 6 but quickly stopped himself because he knew he was wrong. After having an horrible experience with the server, we decided to reduce the tip to show our displeasure with the service. We usually tip between 15-20%. Here we tipped 11% which was still generous considering the service we had. While going through the credit card statement, we found out that we have been charged 30% tip for the service. This is stealing and cheating!!! Leaves a very bad taste after a wonderful trip to Lassen national park. Server was not up to the mark. Other cons: 1) Server was not up to the mark. Got carside last night and it was fabulous! Adrianna was great, she's very funny and friendly. My order was taking just a few minutes longer than anticipated but she kept me updated the whole time and even offered me a free drink while I waited. She definitely goes above and beyond! My food was delicious, I ordered the classic combo and a few other appetizers...they're half off Wednesdays! All in all a great carside experience, I'll definitely be back for more! read more

We have lived here in red bluff ca for many years . Have tried Applebee's several times but regret it every time. Went in once on a Sunday evening and waited ten to twelve minutes for a table we thought , then the host asked us to leave they didn't have enough staff to wait on us .. tried another time which we waited again ten to fifteen minutes then the host escorted us to a table only to get to the table and her turn around and say I can't seat u we don't have the staff to wait on u .. just tried again today but thought we would pick it up . Sent in our order they gave us a time which we were there by and waited twenty minutes longer. We asked if we could be helped my wife told them we were picking up an order . He went to check on it and returned telling us there working on it only he couldn't say how long .. twenty minutes goes by then the manager asked if we've been helped we explained we were waiting to pick up our order which over twenty minutes had passed the time they gave us. He goes and gets the order give it to us and apologizes. We check the order and leave mad only to get in the car and start looking over everything.. the food was cold . Ribs cold , onion rings and fries cold heck, even my mashed potatoes were cold . This is a huge failure for the Applebee's name . Applebee's red bluff ca is so disappointing it's sad because there's not much here to choose from .. don't waste your money . 1 star only because 0 stars wasn't an option. My family and I were recently in Red Bluff, on the way to our vacation destination. We checked into our hotel, and called Applebee's for pick up. Red Bluff was experiencing a heat wave (surprising, I know) haha, and the guy (Sam) who took my order, offered to deliver the food to my hotel. I ordered the following: 2 for $20 menu: asian chicken salad, penne pasta, mozzarella sticks, a basket of bread, and another house salad. The service was prompt, the young man who delivered the food was friendly, and the food was delicious. The order was correct, and the food was served at the right temperature. We didn't have a problem with this location. Stopped in for the night down the road, and were looking for something familiar we knew our little one would eat. It was a pretty dead night, the waitress was attentive and seemed friendly. Food was not great however, went with the appetizers and could tell the boneless wings had been sitting out and then thrown back in the microwave. Also got the Wong tong tacos and it was a very small amount of chicken with coleslaw on top. Big tvs all around and one of the few locations that still has random stuff all over the place. read more

Dishes are always served dirty. Every time so far. Kinda gross. First time, we were given empty plates to share our order and the plates the waitress grabbed were clearly used and had food crumbs and smears on them. We got some replacements but that was a big fail. I think since the "cleaned" dishes are dirty too, they can't tell the difference. ha Actually, the server just wasn't paying attention. Second time, food was good but silverware and bowl were crusty and dirty. Maybe their dishwasher doesn't work. Pretty unappetizing. Spotted a manager but he was busy hanging out, sitting at a table with some customers he seemed to know and I didn't want to waste my time waiting for him to be available. Friendly staff, updated interior, ok food When I was reading the other reviews for this Applebee's branch I almost chose a different restaurant for dinner. As it turned out this was not necessary. This Applebee's is as good as any other restaurant in their franchise system. The staff is friendly, the food is as good as it is in any other branch and the design was recently updated to the company's new modern approach (depending on your taste you either like the minimalist design over their old cozy appearance or not). I recommend this branch if you are looking for all American favorites in a casual atmosphere. BTW - most other restaurants' appearances in the area are run down and create the impression that they are not as spotless as the Applebee's. read more

"Son in Law...You were very polite in the way you handled this "incident". Any desert they "offered" would have been tainted with something I'm sure. I'll be adding my own "review'' of the fodder & service in this and other media. Organizational structure, staff training and customer service makes me wonder why this food service licensee is able to operate (in any state). I can think of more than a few TV chefs' that would put this establishment to shame...oops, they've done that to themselves!" Such a disappointment. I've given this establishment 4 chances, and it just doesn't get better. My last visit takes the cake. We wait forever to be seated (boyfriend and I) and the server didn't greet us at our table for at LEAST 10 mins. Of course, we were getting annoyed. She finally comes up and I noticed her name is Kelly- the MANAGER?! Her demeanor was super weird. Totally laid back, leaned on the table and the side of the booth seat like wut? I'm not going to assume she was..but she SEEMED under the influence. Boyfriend got a quencher blackberry tea, she forgot the berries no big deal. Takes forever to bring them to our table. On my way up on I-5 to Redding, we stopped at this Applebee's for lunch. I tried their Bruschetta Burger with garlic fries ($8.99). The burger is made of 100% Angus burger, with a pesto sauce, bruschetta mix and mozzarella and served between grilled focaccia bread. It looks and tastes fancier than your typical Applebee's fare. Bottom line: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my entree. Their service was pretty good, too. read more

Hv always recvd grt service here! EZ in and out for call ahead and p/u. Love their 2/$20. I usually order their steak w/baked potato and seasoned veggies w/Caesar salad. My other half the same or ribs. The quality in steak has declined as of late. Whn ths deal initially began it was fabulous! Here it is months...years later and what began as steak is now a tad questionable. Needless to say I've ventured out of the box still tkng adv of the 2/$20 altho detouring frm the steak. Its no 4-star for sure. Ths particular Applebee's restaurant is clean overall. Staff and service members are friendly and outgoing (1 or 2 maybe a little too friendly) as in over the top annoying. My biggest complaint...my glass sits empty...seriously. I warn waiter/waitresses I LOVE my ice water, may as well bring a carafe, do they listen?! I was a little hesitant to try this Applebee's after reading some of the poor reviews. We were very happy with the food and service however! The friendly hostess greeted us immediately. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and the meals arrived quickly and were tasty. We tried one of their Halloween themed drinks and now have a little crystal skull shot glass to add to our Halloween decor. It will look cute filled with Halloween candy! read more

I thought that I finally found a decent restaurant here in Red Bluff other than China Doll and a couple Mexican restaurants. After we had a nice meal a month ago at Applebees, we returned. We arrived at 8:15 Pm. When I asked the prices of the glasses of wine on the menu, she simply said ( in an annoyed voice) that she did not know but were AROUND $6.00, $7.00;or $8.00. If I ordered the 9 oz. glass, I could not specify white or red. They would bring me whatever they chose. From my many years of dining out in expensive or local cheap restaurants, I have Never heard from a waitress that there were no prices listed anywhere. The menu lists calories but not prices. . Regarding the food, my son ordered the "all you can eat" Special for $14.99 which includes "ENDLESS shrimp, chicken tenders, barbecued riblets and French fries." It is a total rip off! First he had a decent plate of breaded shrimp, tiny cup of coleslaw , and French fries. . When he finished it, after a long wait came 2 small chicken tenders and 3 French fries. Our dinner guest and I finished our meal and no waitress to be seen . My son's plate was empty and our water glasses were empty. We then spotted her sweeping the floor. No waitress available to bring the rest of his meal. At my request, the manager came to our table. I told that we had been there over an hour and my son had very little to eat. The other guest and I had long finished our meals and my son was still hungry as he had not been offered the riblets or any more food. It was late and we could not wait any longer. The manager apologized and ended up giving us a bag of food to go. The Manager is good but waitresses need to be better trained and better attitudes. The snotty waitress placed the credit card machine on our table, without a word, and walked away. I am disappointed to see such terrible service from an Applebee's and will not be returning. read more

Went with a party of 8 or so for lunch. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Took a little while to be seated even though there seemed to be space. Food was fine, although maybe not quite as quick as one might expect. This review should be read knowing Applebees is not my preferred food style (give me Thai anytime). Our first time at this location and the service was horrible. They had the bartender working tables and the bar.l could forgive slow service for that. But it took 40 minutes to get the food and there were only about 20 people in the restaurant. Then all the rest of the staff appeared and finally after us asking we got our food. The person who brought it didn't ask to refill our drinks, or ask if we wanted more napkins since we were eating sandwiches. We waited another 10 after eating hoping to order dessert, but then the hostess just showed up with our check so we paid and left. No one ever came to clear our plates from the table.
