I came to Red Bluff on business along with my Manager. This is an older established bar and restaurant in the downtown area. The menu has a majority of various burgers on the menu. I had the Jalapeño Burger and my Manager had the Cowboy Burger. Both burgers were delicious. The waitress was great and did a good job. read more

The 4 star reviews are questionable. It's a dingy bar that may or may not be serving food. Friday at noon when I went in, there was nobody eating and nobody in the little pass-thru window where you could potentially order food. There were two old guys drinking at the bar and that was it. The bartender tried to rustle up somebody to take our food order, but before she was able to get anyone, we had already decided to go to a restaurant instead. We were looking for a place to stop for lunch on our way to Redding that was actually open, and we struck Gold! I am not sure what their regular menu and hours are, but during this Covid situation stop, they were open on a Sunday with an all day small plates and drink special happy hour. My boyfriend and I went to the palomino room with his service animal on Sunday . We walked in, sat down ordered drinks and food. We were eating our delicious food when one of the bartenders came very close to me telling me the questions he needs to ask about having a service animal. I never got his name but he had black curly hair. My boyfriend answered all of the questions and even showed her registration as a service animal. Now I'm ok with all the questions asked but why in the world wait until we are eating to approach the situation . He was so close to me that I asked him to back off and after my boyfriend answered all the questions, he was still discussing it. I even asked him to drop it but he continued. It made me lose my appetite so we got boxes and left. We both felt harassed! I wish I could give this place a better review because the food was delicious but I will not. I hope this bartender learns how to drop a subject that customers don't want to discuss any further. After a long day of auctions we were looking for a place to eat in area of Red Bluff. After reading some of the Yelp reviews we were apprehensive about stopping here for a quick bite. My husband went into the business to "check it out." He was greeted by "James" the bar manager who was very friendly and highly recommended the food here. He explained that the bar was a separate business from the restaurant, called "Ramons." We ordered a drink and the classic hamburgers which were very reasonably priced and delicious! My wife and I don't get to Red Bluff very often but when we do we always stop at the Palomino Room for lunch. We order the Philly Cheese sandwich plate. We haven't been to the restaurant in about a year and were surprised and dismayed at the changes. The music playing on the Juke box was some new age crap instead of the old western classics. The regular dining area was closed so we had to eat in the bar room. Almost no lighting. The restroom was remodeled and was clean and tidy. The menu has changed and the prices have risen. Gone is the Philly sandwich along with many other favorites, now more like yuppie food. I had the regular burger and fries and the wife had the New York steak sandwich. We also ordered side of onion rings ($8 for 6 rings) as well. The burger was OK as were the fries. The steak sandwich ($18) was a different story. Incredibly tough and grizzly. Impossible to eat. My wife ate only a few small bites and pushed it away. I shared my burger with her. The onion rings were really oily and had a weird taste, like being cooked in the same oil as fish or liver. No more Heinz ketchup, cheap crappy tasting generic instead. I think we'll pass on this place in the future, too bad. read more

Friday night 6:00. Walked into the bar area. Found a table right in front of four giant TVs. Waitress came right over and took our drink order. Returned shortly. We ordered dinner, Tes Mex tacos and cheeseburger. "How would you like your burger cooked?" whoa pardoner, we have been asked that question since we left Texas. We added Garlic Fries. Dinner came out and huge basket of hot right out of the fryer delicious fries. Delicious cheeseburger cooked just right spectacular salad too. Attentive waitress and bartender. Christmas dinner this year was ok. They did not have the festive drink selections they had in prior years and they struggled to make my Lemon Drop correctly. They did have the baked potatoes we were hoping they would have (we specifically requested them when making our reservation). I ordered the two step and It was OK. Kinda pricey menu. I'm sure I'll return, but mostly because dining choices are limited here in town, rather than outstanding food and service. Having said all this, the night life is not bad.
