YUMMY! decided to visit while i was in town since i always hear good things. i got the steak salad, garlic fries, and PB smoothie! the area is an open area where you order and pay then sit down like a cafe. i really enjoyed the PB smoothie it wasn't overly sweet and had a great PB flavor. the salad was good with lots of steak, but id ask for the dressing on the side next time. I really liked the garlic fries, super crispy with a soft texture and it had a very strong garlic flavor. the portion sizes were honestly huge and i definitely want to be back to try more items! super cute date night spot too with a lot of seating area with booths as well. there isn't much of a service interaction but my food came out quick and everyone was friendly read more

Before entering the restaurant I had looked at their menu and decided on avocado toast and a mimosa. (I am a very picky eater) Was informed the avocado toast was a breakfast item, so I had to research the menu again and then I decided on a turkey/avocado wrap with a peach mimosa. The wrap was very good but they served me a regular mimosa in a regular water glass. I was surprised to find out we had to go get our own water and even napkins, and put away our tray with the trash. The place was right in downtown. Clean restaurant with friendly staff and lots of food choices. The Chai bowl is supposed to be the most popular. I chose that bowl but wasn't wowed. I should have gotten the teriyaki bowl like the gal at the counter suggested. My fiancé had the burger and fries. He said his burger was really good. The truffle fries were good. They had a great crisp on them and flavor. The Dubai cup was okay. The strawberries were good and they gave a good portion of the kitafi, but the strawberries were cold and that turned the hot chocolate hard. Well, we had a veggie burger that was quite good, but considering the name has the word pie in the title the berry pie was definitely underwhelming. It's a good place to eat just don't get the pie. I just went for lunch and it went well. I ordered the Bacon Burger without tomato and a side of Garlic Fries, along with a fountain drink. Their Garlic Fries were super juicy and delicious, and the burger was one of the best burgers I've had in my entire life. Worth its price. The service was a little manual. I have to order up from the counter, get my own drink, and bus my own table. It's not really that much of a hassle for me, but you should know this if you decide to visit From The Hearth. The ambiance was good. The place was very clean, was well-maintained, and was very spacious. Very nice in there, and the staff are nice. On a recent trip to the area, we picked From The Hearth for breakfast. But when they say breakfast service stops at 10:30, they MEAN it! We drove 30 minutes to have breakfast but we arrived at the counter ready to order at 10:31 and were not allowed to order breakfast. We were disappointed (I showed the counter person my phone with the time) but what can you say, rules are rules. ‍ We settled for Lattes and a croissant to share. Wow! I was super hungry and not sure what I wanted to eat. Was leaving Redding and headed back to Sacramento. Just started scrolling nearest restaurants on YELP. High review count and 4+ but sub-5 stars = good food. 5 stars = paid for advertising. There was a young lady at the order counter, but she gave me time to decide. That was nice as I'd never been there before and there was a lot on the menu. I ordered the carnitas tacos. I usually do carne asada, but that didn't appear to be an option. Holy guacamole! Those tacos were not only a work of art, but fantastically delicious as well. I'd say top three of all tacos I've ever had. Ordered to go and the tacos were served in a compostable container designed to hold tacos. I ate in the car, but the dining area was huge with lots of tables and nicely decorated. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and I'm glad I did. They had some really good sandwich options and pies from the bakery. I decided to try the Kahlua Pulled Pork Sandwich. I also ordered Truffle Fries and a Jumbleberry Pie. The Kahlua pulled pork was amazing. The chipotle aioli added a great flavor and had a kick to it, the house slaw tasted fresh. The Truffle fries tasted amazing and the Jumbleberry pie was sweet and the crust was flakey. The inside is roomy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the chimichurri steak tacos and they were delicious! The meat was nice and tender. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table. The food arrived fairly quickly. I was passing by saw this place had great reviews and wanted to try it, I was disappointed with their "Jamaican jerk tacos" and "garlic" fries. Nothing about the tacos tasted jerky, there was a was a pink sauce I'm guessing that's the "Chipotle aioli" which tasted really bad and the chicken was dry and flavorless. Barely got through those tacos even though I was very hungry. Just nothing about the tacos made sense, those flavors just did not go together. These tacos have set the line between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. And if the tacos were good, they would do the latter. Unfortunately that's not the case. I wish I could have said something better about the fries but even before I noticed the pool of oil under them, I could taste how greasy they were. I had been to the Redding location a couple of times, and liked it very much. So, since I had stopped in town for the night, I decided to come by for dinner. Everyone was beyond friendly and helpful . They have a very large menu, with enough items to please the carnivore or the veggie eater I liked a lot of the different things on the menu. The thing that really caught my eye was the Texas steak salad. However, I just wasn't feeling like having a salad. So, I asked them if they could do it as a rice bowl instead, and they said "why not? ". They were out of the basmati rice, so instead, I had it on quinoa and kale. Oh my God, it was so good. The steak was tender and flavorful, and all of the "fixins" that came with it were awesome. . The quinoa was the perfect texture, and even the kale was good. To me, kale is like brussels sprouts. By itself, yuck! But if it's been "zhuzzed up" properly, it's very good. From the Hearth was a fantastic restaurant and bakery! We visited From the Hearth in Red Bluff on our way to the mountains from Redding, and this was the best food I ate in the area. Thanks to the local Yelpers who pointed us here as I had never heard about this wonderful eatery before. We came here on a Saturday morning and the place was steady with some parties dining in. The staff was super friendly and were happy to make recommendations. Menu featured a lot of different breakfast items and the display case of pastries could not be missed. We ordered a drip, dirty chai latte and my partner had the breakfast burrito while I had the breakfast tacos, and we shared a side of eggs and potatoes with. On the go, we ordered a peach cobbler pie and a maple cronut for later on. The food was delicious! My breakfast tacos were tasty, with the corn tortillas, pork belly, eggs, cotija cheese and a salsa with pineapple. Three tacos was a good portion, especially because they don't skimp on loading up these tacos. My partner ordered his breakfast burrito with ham, which he said was thickly cut and was delicious with the potatoes and eggs and side of salsa. No complaints. Even our drinks were solid, with strong coffee and a chai tea that was very aromatic from the spices. Later on after our last hike, we had our pastries - the peach cobbler pie and maple cronut, which both were very tasty! You have to try the famous pastries here, in addition to the savory entrees you can find here. I'm so glad we discovered From the Hearth while in the area as it ended up being one of the best meals we had on our long weekend. This might be the best food we had on our recent vacation in the little town of Red Bluff and that includes some highly regarded restaurants we went to in Bend, OR and Shasta, CA. This place is very well priced for the quality of the food. My entire family opted for bowls of one type or the other. All fantastic. Even my picky daughter loved hers (teriyaki chicken). We were very pleased. The restaurant is the perfect form factor for families too. Order at the counter then sit down. It was nearly 110 degrees outside. The variety means it's great even for picky people and the quality is great for that too. The food is unique, healthy and well presented. The pie is tasty and the crust is so moist and buttery. I love that you can have a nice, full meal here and then opt for an real dessert. They also have numerous drink options from coffee and tea to soda and custom drinks that change seasonally. The interior is clean with nice decor and has lots of seating. They have outdoor seating as well if you have a dog or just want to enjoy the weather. The prices are reasonable and you might have a bit of a wait time as they get busy, but there is good reason for that. The coffee was delicious! I was excited about my NW Hash as it had so many things I love in it. However, while it was good, it wasn't very hash like. It tasted like the ingredients were never cooked together but were just tossed together. A runny egg might have pulled the dish together but the scrambled eggs didn't.
