We always choose a local restaurant over a national chain, and Tremont Cafe did not disappoint. Lots of different egg, meat, toast and potato combos to choose, so you didn't have to order an oversize meal to get the items you wanted. And happy to upgrade the default pancakes the blueberry pancakes that were delicious! It was a good meal that didn't sit heavy for the day's travels on the interstate. read more

Walking in, I absolutely loved the classic diner feel and the history of the restaurant. It really gives the place its small town charm. The service was great! The waitress was friendly and the food came out pretty quick! I did have one strand of hair in my food but it wasn't worth the complaint and having my food remade. It was not gonna kill me. Lol. And the food was still delicious! However, if it weren't for the hair, I would have given it 5 stars. read more

Five star in every category. Servers keep your coffee hot, always a friendly smile, comfortable clean environment. Exceptional in every way. Will return to try Fiday night prime rib meal is $25. read more

Tasty little breakfast spot with friendly fast service. I ordered the "Toast" breakfast that was two eggs, two bacon, and I got a biscuit instead of toast. Everything was cooked as I ordered it and the biscuit was pretty good. My husband ordered the $10 chicken fried steak breakfast (smaller portion) and he said it was tasty and just the right amount of food. Coffee was pretty standard diner coffee, nothing great, but not burnt. Overall, not a bad place to grab breakfast. If you're just passing through, it's not too far off the freeway, easy to get on and off, and there is plenty of street parking. read more

Very nice staff, good food and very clean. Only gave 4 stars because food was just OK, nothing that stood out.

Originally went based off the published menu photos, that were obviously way out of date. Other than that, the place was great. Food was delicious, staff very friendly. Overall it was a great experience. Definitely recommend. read more

This place is super cute and clean. The waitress was very nice, efficient and not intrusive! Had a BLT on Rye which is my fav. Most places don't have rye bread. Very delicious! This will be my go to whenever I'm in Red Bluff around lunch time! Thanks ladies for the hospitality! read more

Traveling through Redding and visiting friends, we were recommended to stop and have breakfast at this restaurant this morning, 10/26/25. Found it easy off of highway 5 and the breakfast was the best I have experienced since leaving home in 1955. Everything was fresh, very tasty and service was outstanding. Tremont Cafe - Joan Suess enjoying a perfect breakfast in a cafe doing business since 1863 - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Red Bluff, California

Such a clearly local place. Full of friendly people and good service. My vegetarian daughter loves the vegetarian Benedict and I enjoyed the standard Benedict. My egg adverse spouse had a burger that she said was delicious. But I wanted to comment on the humble fruit cup. A small thing but I have never had a better fruit cup. Fresh berries, bananas. Usually, a fruit cup is just a cup of grapes. It may seem silly to comment but it so enhanced my breakfast that I wanted to comment. read more

We stopped in Red Bluff during a trip back from SF, arriving late at night. As such, we got a super late start on Monday morning (afternoon). After loading our car, I groggily searched on Yelp for something interesting for breakfast, and landed on Tremont Cafe. This cafe stood out as being a local business and focused on classic American breakfast fare. Tremont Cafe is situated among the historic downtown buildings in Red Bluff. A charming area. We were greeted warmly as soon as we set foot in the door. Despite it being 30 mins to close when we arrived, our server provided kind, patience service. We each were able to order breakfast items at 130pm (yay!) and I was able to get my much delayed morning coffee with ample refills. We enjoyed our eggs, coffees and gawked at the historic photos and local lore on the walls in the cafe. We even bought a piece of art from a local artist that was hanging in the dining space. Thanks for the hospitality and warm service during our travels. You helped us recover from a long night of driving. We'll come back! read more

Amazing service. The food is great! The location and the restaurant itself is perfect. We love supporting this small local business!

On a vacation from Montana back to our home in California, we decided to try a cafe Instead of the usual chain restaurants. The Tremont Cafe in Red Bluff was fantastic. It was easy off road and back on. The staff greeted us promptly and our order were taken. I had a omelette with country potatoes. I've been to a lot of places, but this was probably the best. My husband had a chicken freid steak and eggs and he loved it! Prices were good in this economy. It was A small town and made Us feel safe and friendly. We loved them. Make USA Great Again! read more

Just your typical diner. Really wanted to love it, but just couldn't. Server was neither friendly nor unfriendly. Coffee was typical diner fare--meh. I had the country fried steak and partner had the corned beef hash. For the country fried steak it was again typical. All eggs were farm fresh because bright orange yolks (hope that's why). The hash was completely inedible. It looked and tasted like canned dog food--so gross! Ambiance was a little tacky but would have been tacky-cute if other parts would have been better. read more

Perfect breakfast! Eggs, bacon and wheat toast were all great. Will return if we pass through here again.

Tremont Cafe - Roast Beef and pepper jack. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Red Bluff, California

Tremont Cafe is your typical small town local diner, serving breakfast and lunch till 3pm. Parking is on the street, but really not a prob in this town. This is just the kind of place you wanna order something you don't get in big cities with fancy organic breakfasts and long lines out the door. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. Growing up in San Diego, the only place you'd hear of Chicken Fried Steak was at some truck stop being eatin by burly guys holding their forks and knives in strange ways. But traveling around now, I've come to appreciate a good (prob unhealthy), Chicken Fried Steak, and Tremont does a mighty fine version here. Served with some really good hashbrowns and 2 eggs anyway you like. I had mine over easy and they were perfect. My friend had an omelet served with the hashbrowns as well. The food was tasty and well done. Service was friendly and coffees refilled easy. If you're in Red Bluff and need breakfast, this is a good choice. read more

I have been to Tremont many many times and I can honestly say that I have Never been disappointed. Their food is absolutely phenomenal and you can really feel the sense of care and familial presence. The service is every bit as amazing as the food, they treat you like family and are extremely attentive to the needs of their customers. This is a must try for anyone and everyone! read more

Don't come here. Both waitresses weren't wearing masks. The country fried steak was mediocre, the hash browns undercooked, and the toast somehow managed to be stale. The gravy was decent, but then again, how do you screw up gravy? read more

I'm giving this place 2 Stars (should give 0) because the service was wonderful. But the breakfast was just awful. How do you wreck breakfast? I'll tell you how ... Stopped here on our way up to the Lake for Labor Day Weekend. Cute town and this place looked like a nice little local coffee shop/cafe. Very dated interior but hey, some of the best places are ones like these! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and showed to a table by the window. There were a few other tables with customers but the place was relatively empty. The menu is very simple (eggs, omelets, pancakes and French toast. No Eggs Benedict here folks. We ordered the Mini Tremont (breakfast potatoes, bacon 1 egg and toast) and the Pancake plate that came with bacon and an egg. Mini Tremont - Egg over medium was perfect. Bacon was super fatty and limp. Potatoes were the frozen flavorless O'Brien kind. Really disappointing. I opted for the sourdough toast which tasted off. Like the butter had turned sour or something it was terrible. Pancake Plate - pancake was okay but the first bite tasted funny and it was underdone. Scrambled egg looked more like a flavorless omelet and my daughter asked for crispy bacon and it literally came out petrified. Great Customer Service Overpriced menu Overrated food Dated Decor Will not be returning read more

This place has been here forever and is one of very few places in RB to eat. The food is fine. Nothing fantastic, but decent. The service is mediocre as well, same with the ambience. Just ok. What really got me was the $. Not a single lunch item under $15. Sodas $4. It was $65 for 3 people. That's without a tip. read more

Great food and very friendly staff. Local restaurant on Main Street that caters to great food, customer service, and creative recipe items.

I have been here to the Tremont a number of times with some friends of mine. This is a great family owned and operated digs with friendly upbeat staff. The food is tasty, check out their deals. The most recent time I came was with a large party of 30+ people for breakfast. The prime rib and eggs were on special that day- I also got a English muffin and a bowl of fruit (watching my diet) even with a large party our service was prompt, the price was right and the company was the best. Food was just ok. I liked the atmosphere here and the country music playing. Just didn't' wow me. Eggs were over cooked, chicken fried steak was good, but I think the gravy was from a packet. Hashbrowns also undercooked. read more

The place was great. The food was OK. We ordered 2 Traditional Eggs Benedict with hash brown and regular potato for breakfast. The potato was so dry, I felt like they cook it ahead of time and just reheated it in a microwave because it was so dry, hard, and burned. I couldn't even feed my kids, we had to go to another place to buy my kids something to eat. Also because it's still covid, the waitress did not wear her mask while taking our order and bringing our food. read more

This was a perfectly pleasant stop on our I-5 road trip. An old fashioned diner with sandwiches, burgers and ice cream and small town friendly service. Our server definitely knew everybody else in the place and was getting in their business (in a warm way), scolding the teenagers and reminding them to head back to class on time. "I will call your mother!" The food was OK and in addition to the standard deep fried sides, they have a basic salad bar and a couple of soups. Certainly not the best food we ate on the trip, but everything was fine. Downtown Red Bluff is a bit off I-5, but it was a relatively straight forward exit and return to the freeway on the main road that runs parallel to the freeway. They had a good selection of Dreyer's ice cream for cones, sundaes and shakes. Certainly the highlight for our boys. read more
