One of the BEST breakfast meals that I have ever had. I had the Hearty Tremont (two eggs - sunny side up, 4 slices of bacon, biscuit w/gravy and hash browns). The bacon was perfectly cooked. Not too crispy and not too chewy. The biscuit with gravy rivals the best I have ever had. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns could have been slightly crispier. Now I know to order them a little more crispy. My wife had the breakfast burrito. It was really fresh. She wishes the potatoes were less crispy but that's because she likes her potatoes mushier in a breakfast burrito. She said most people would like it the way it comes. I love this place (first timer). We WILL be back for the prime rib on a Friday/Saturday evening. Great job, Tremont Staff! 5/5 stars was a no brainer. read more

Based on reviews, I ate here this past weekend for a late breakfast/early lunch. I ordered the vegetable omelet. The omelet was ok. the vegetables were oily and the dish could have been hotter. Driving down interstate 5 in need of food near Red Bluff and the Yelp reviews direct me here. Thank you Yelpers for helping me find this place! The food was very good. I'm not talking gourmet good but rather very good diner food good. If the tater tots, onion rings and French fries weren't all scratch made, they sure fooled me. Perfectly deep fried, nothing was drenched in grease. I had the French dip. It has a good amount of beef and tasted exactly how I expected it to. My dad had the BLT. Holy heck of bacon. They did not skimp on the bacon. Now, for the entire reason for my review, my mom had a patty melt...on GLUTEN FREE bread. She said it was amazing. When traveling she is limited and realizing that they could make ANY sandwich with gluten free bread really made her day!!! Next time I'm in this area, I will need to come here again. Oh, and they serve the breakfast menu until 3pm. There was a kid next to me that got a pancake that was as big as her head. It looked delicious. read more

Scoped this place out on yelp then stopped here on our road trip back home from Pleasanton, CA. Can't speak for their lunch but breakfast was great. We had The Tremont (bacon & eggs) the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast Burrito and split 1 pancake. All three plates were amazing! Service was fast and friendly. I haven't been to this cafe in six years but I remember that the service was good and the food was too. Typical cafe atmosphere.

My buddies and I stop by this cafe for bfast every time we visit Hayfork. The food is pretty good. I had one of their scrambles this time and enjoyed it. Everything was well seasoned and the sourdough toast is definitely sour, which I enjoy. I always forget how large the cafe is, finding a place to sit shouldn't be a problem, well at least for bfast. read more

Atmosphere is welcoming as well as the service. I requested whole eggs over the liquid mixture they use for scrambled eggs, but didn't get that. Locals eat here to enjoy a delicious hearty breakfast, etc at a fair price. Located in cute, historic old town Red Bluff near the beautiful Cone Kimball tower. For a big, special breakfast I like steak and eggs -real meat! For a light breakfast, the T.H.E. is perfect (toast, hashbrowns, eggs) . The omelets are fantastic too . Stretch your legs by walking along main to the cute shops that still wrap your gifts for you (Plum Crazy, Enjoy the Store, etc). read more

If you are looking for a place with top notch all-around service and food, don't stop here. The two stars I am giving is for our waitress, who was sweet and tried to be helpful, and the fact that the food was not terrible. Additionally, my husband did not complain about his plate. I should also add, he almost never complains when we go out to eat. Now for what needed improvement: 1. The seating area in the back was dirty. Dirty in way that showed the place hadn't been given a scrub down in some time. The tables hadn't been wiped down, the chairs were not lined up tidy, and the floor was gross. 2. Terrible coffee. I'm no coffee snob but if I'm paying for coffee at a cafe, it should at least be ok/so-so coffee. This was terrible. I also had to ask for sugar and creamer as it was not offered or brought with the coffee. To that end, straws are also not offered with the water. I feel like these are 101 items at restaurants and cafes but did not seem to be a part of the routine here. 3. I requested the veggie burrito with an add-on of sausage. This is what was written on the slip; however, when the burrito arrived it was green peppers, onions, and sausage. No spinach and mushrooms like the veggie burrito describes. The salsa tasted like it was from a bottle of Pace Picante. The sour cream was cold and not soft, so no way to really spread it into your burrito. I will say - our sweet waitress offered to make it right by bringing the correct burrito, but it was sizable so by the time she came back I was a 1/4 way into it and was getting full. We also did not have time to wait for a new one. She did take off 10% for the error, which was great, but I am accustomed to that kind of error being removed from the bill altogether. I did bring home the remaining half of the burrito - it didn't taste too bad. Overall, the restaurant has a small town feel which is what drew me to choose the place for our first breakfast in Red Bluff. In my opinion, the place would fare much better with minor improvements. read more

This place is blatantly not following current guidelines for COVID 19. We went inside to order and was told to "sit wherever you want" and saw several people seated inside. We picked an outside table and sat down, a server came over, gave us menus and was not wearing a mask. We asked him why he was not wearing a mask and he said "um, I don't know" and turned to a female employee and asked her "why aren't we wearing masks?" The other employee (also not wearing a mask) just shrugged and walked away. We promptly got up and left since it was clear they have no regard for public health regulations. read more

This was the worst breakfast I've had in a long time, if ever. First of all our food took over an hour to arrive. The waitress never came by our table to apologize for taking so long. She walked by our table several times but never stopped. That would have made us feel better for the wait, if someone had at least made a comment about the wait. Once it arrived you could tell it had sat a long time under a heat lamp. The toast was soggy, and just about everything was barely warm. Also one of the orders was wrong. The waitress offered to fix it but said it would take a long time. We told her we weren't waiting any longer after waiting so long already and told her she could comp that dish instead. They ended up comping about 2 1/2 dishes which was nice but still didn't make up for the horrible experience and bad food. Highly disappointed! :( read more

The pancakes: light an fluffy. Potatoes Obrian: hot and crispy. Te breakfast burrito: the size of a duraflame log. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. My coffee was never empty. We were in Red Bluff on a stopocer in the way home to Sonoma County and stopped into the Tremont for some breakfast. Cute place in downtown Red Bluff. The location used to be the site of the Tremont Hotel, and there are neat historical photos of Red Bluff in the 19th and 20th centuries around the cafe. We had a wonderful experience. Generous portions and very affordable. But an even bigger bonus was the excellent service. Very friendly staff who chatted with us out-of-towners and really made us feel welcome. They serve breakfast until 2pm. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Red Bluff and hungry! read more

It's been a long time since a breakfast restaurant got my order for Eggs Over Medium so perfectly over medium! And not every small town restaurant serves a nice whole grain bread! Bacon a little on the fatty side, but cooked perfectly. Friendly and hospitable. Quick service to take the order and to deliver food, with about 50% capacity at the time. Definitely popular with the town residents. Sooo happy to have another locally owned restaurant to patronize. read more

Conveniently located on our way to Lassen Volcanic National Park, we've stopped at Tremont Cafe to grab food to go before getting into the park and hitting the trails! This cafe offers a nice selection of options (including breakfast burritos, pancakes, sandwiches and salads). You can ask for your own toppings if you would like. Sides includes French fries, onion rings, potato tots. Portions are generous which is great if you are looking for a meal to get you all set for the rest of your day! We stopped here on a Saturday night around 10am and it was buzzing which is usually a good sign :-) The staff is very friendly. There is free wifi here. These guys are nailing what they are going for. Small town, mellow diner with a couple of old guys hanging out this morning at 6:00 am. My wife, baby, and I rolled in, got a couple of early bird specials (eggs, hash browns and toast for me... Pancakes, bacon and eggs for the wife). Good food, that came out quickly, attentive service, clean bathrooms, and historical wallpaper up showing old time photos of Red Bluff. It's not a restaurant that will blow you away, but I think that you should commend when a place is doing everything it's trying to be. Only criticism is that the toilet paper was super coarse. Can't take off stars for that, I just need to be less dainty downstairs, but if they could get some softer 2 ply TP, that would make quite a few people happy. read more

Review is a little late, about two years late, but I promised I'd post a review and better late than never. Was with a group of friends taking a road trip from LA to Portland, looked this place up on Yelp on the way up for a breakfast stop. We arrived just before they opened in the morning, a very friendly man seemed to be the only one working the floor, and I think the owner came in soon after and was reading a paper and with a cup of coffee to the rear of the restaurant. I had the breakfast burrito which I had read on yelp was supposed to be pretty good. I definitely enjoyed it, the ingredients all tasted fresh and wholesome. I was pretty surprised. The burrito was quite large, but again I couldn't get over how fresh everything tasted. Nothing was mushy or bland. Definitely was a pick me up during a 19 hour drive. Two years later, thats how much of an impression it left upon me, I still remember that the place and that I wanted to post a review on it. read more

This was the perfect place to enjoy a filling brunch! Having had my fill of "sweet" breakfasts the past few days, it was time to turn up the "savory" with a plate of Mushroom Burger and Onion Rings, topped off with a strawberry milkshake! The following event could have been easily avoided with a little more communication, but I'll still mention it for the record: I ordered the Mushroom Burger expecting a mouth-watering portabello mushroom type affair, devoid of meat. Alas, their version of mushroom burger meant a standard beef 'n cheese burger with some sauteed mushrooms in for good measure. I must thank our waiter SO MUCH for his patience and understanding in rectifying the matter, because just a few minutes later, he came out with a side plate of extra mushrooms to replace the meat patty I'd removed. I really appreciated his attentiveness and promptness! The rest of the meal was spectacular! Crunchy and perfectly-cooked onion rings and a very filling milkshake. Even my monstruous hunger wasn't enough to finish the meal and I hate to admit that I had to leave 2 onion rings on the plate. ;_; I highly recommend this brightly lit, fun, and friendly place to dine! read more

This was a great small town american restaurant I found on my road trip to Seattle. The menu was heavy on sandwiches and traditional entrees (think country fried steaks and meatloaf). They also had a small but well stocked salad bar and homemade soups. I had a tri-tip French dip sandwich that was beefy and the au jus made it all go down easily. My NYC roommate had a turkey sandwich with avocado and a mountain of tater tots. It was a great lunch! Service was warm and friendly. Highly recommended for lunch! read more

Felt a bit overpriced for what you get. Our sides of 2 scrambled eggs looked more like 1, except for the one of us who opted for over easy. French toast was a fairly small cut (because regular bread), we expected a slightly bigger volume given it was the same price as a belgian waffle. The scramble with bacon was "lacking," per the member of our group who had it. Food was alright otherwise, but the service was pretty slow (no check for refills despite no real crowd), so overall we thought not worth 3 stars on this visit. YMMV read more
