Great place for people who have kids, not so great for those of us who don't like listening to loud obnoxious kids.

I had "dinner" here tonight with my family, and it was the worst experience ever! The only upside was that the manager comped our entire meal (thank you to the male manager on duty 7/22/2013 dinner shift). We did not get drink service promptly, so I started looking around for a waiter running around busy assuming he or she was ours, instead I see our waiter leaning up on a table in the bar talking to two ladies. I am giving him the "come over here look" to no avail. We waited 10 minutes for him to come take our drink order, annoying yes, but not as bad as the booth behind us that waited for 30 minutes before he even acknowledged their existence! He immediately went into his we have $5 margarita line...I sat quietly and waited for him to finish and then proceeded to place all drinks and food order because I was nervous we would never see him again. We ordered ice tea, Dr. pepper, kid's milk, mozzarella sticks, kid's mac n cheese, chicken fried chicken w/ mashed potatoes, and Garlic Rosemary Chicken Pasta and a side salad...Yes we were starving from our road trip. This last food item is from the seasonal menu and isn't usually and entree, but the server assured me it was not a problem..."I can get you anything you want! [*cheesy smile*]" Drinks arrived, then appetizer. Dinners appeared, kid's mac n cheese, chicken fried chicken, some pasta dish with shrimp (FAIL), and the biggest side salad I have ever seen (FAIL, should have been here before meal). The person that brought the shrimp pasta said, "oh I picked up the wrong dish, Ill be right back." I told the waiter to just forget the side salad since my dish would "be right back". Sorry, but why would I want that salad now that my warm pasta dish will be here to indulge in, I ordered it so I would not plow through the mozzarella sticks. "I'll be right back" turned into 15-minutes of waiting while my family ate....cursing myself for not taking that side salad, and no drink refills while we waited! When my dish finally arrived I had to wait for silverware, that I had asked for when the 1st round of meals came out, so I could drive into my hopefully delicious meal. My Garlic Rosemary Chicken Pasta which should have been "grilled chicken glazed with garlic, thyme and rosemary herbs, then paired with tender asparagus, artichokes, portobello mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. Served over a bed of fettuccine noodles and lightly tossed in bruschetta. Served with toasted garlic bread." Delicious sounding right, it was the time I had it before too, hence the reason I wanted it as an entree portion! What I got was a bowl of fettuccine noodles, with charred chicken breast, a few mushrooms, rosemary stems, and ONE slimy asparagus stem, no sauce so it was dry and terrible tasting. UNACCEPTABLE! My husband spoke to the food server who seemed ever so aggravated, but his job is to ensure quality service and food right? Manager came over and said he would have dish made again, I asked for it to go because my family was done eating. The server came back with the bill and the side salad was still on the bill, that sent my husband over the edge! Spoke to the manager again about this terrible service and he did the right thing and sent us on our way with no bill! We waited for my food and then headed back to our hotel. We stop through Red Bluff on our yearly road trip, but we will NEVER eat at Applebee's again! read more

Ordered carside service tonight first time got home an entree was missing ugh had to drive all the way back across town and wait to get left entree.. I should have checked my food before I left.. Ate there 10/20/13. My son's corn dog came out cold & still frozen in the middle. Food was blah. Tipped the girl $5, just so happened to check my statement today & someone decides to tip another $6 on top. Horrible and scary to think this could be happening to others. Never going back! read more

This is the worst Applebees i havw ever been to. We waited 55 minutes just to be served cold food, cold soup, no silverware, hard fries. Ridiculous. Now i know why Applebees is losing business. Never again will i come to this place when working in Red Bluff again. read more

DONT EVER ATTEMPT TO EAT HERE, YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR FOOD!!!! My family and i attempted to have dinner here and sat there for over an hour waiting for our food. In total we were there for 1.5 hours before we left without paying for our drinks and salads. Not to mention our server was very rude and should not have come to work today. Perhaps their slogan shouldn't be "There's no place like the neighborhood" and instead should be "We used a microwave on 75% of your food." I went here on a whim because my wife wanted to go out for lunch. We were deciding between Round Table Pizza and Applebee's, and I let her choose. Brownie points for me on that decision, but was it worth it? No. Let's start at the beginning. The environment was fine, not many people at lunch which seemed odd but it was cool, clean, and not loud. Then came the waitress, Kelly, I only wish there were more waitresses like her. A very nice personality, prompt with everything we needed, and very attentive. She was fantastic and would get a 5 star from me. The food, oh boy, where do I begin? My son's macaroni and cheese was clearly microwaved as it was piping hot and clumpy. Being that he is 2, this did not faze him. No harm no foul. Then our appetizers arrived. Spinach dip and chips (crazy hot, microwaved.) Mozzarella sticks (seemed to be fried so no harm there.) Wanton chicken tacos (seemed fresh, there's a plus.) My wife ordered the club melt with French onion soup. What she got was a decent looking sandwich and yet another piping hot bowl of food that didn't taste great at all. I ordered the BBQ Brisket tacos with fries. The tacos were mediocre at best, which was unfortunate, but the fries were good (how do you screw up fries anyways?) We left feeling a bit cheated. The price of the food could have gotten us a much better lunch anywhere else. This was super frustrating. Perhaps our expectations were high and we expected all fresh food. We were passing through and stopped here for dinner. My husband and I had the worst service ever. We saw our cocktails sitting at the bar for about 10 minutes before they were delivered. The ice was melted and the drinks were watered-down. We had the waitress send them back only to have the bartender refusing to remake them. The bartender was busy dividing out in and out burgers brought in by friends for people sitting at the bar. A very strange vibe. We voiced our complaint on the corporate website and received a call from the manager apologizing. He offered to mail us dinner coupons to have dinner on then. This was six months ago and we still have not received our coupons. read more

We had a great experience at this Applebee's staff was fun and friendly ordered a bacon protein style burger was pretty good a little greasy decent flavor my son had a regular cheeseburger was really good sweet potato fries everything was fresh and hot thanks for a great meal. read more

We've been here a few times and the service is always excellent! Today I took my son out to lunch and the server/bartender did such an excellent job I decided to Yelp from the restaurant. Renee greeted us with a smile immediately, recommended certain specials that we actually ordered and kept our drinks full! She might be able to read minds too, because the bill arrived exactly at the moment I thought of it. Friendly staff, fantastic food and of course another perfect experience. read more

Came in for lunch and had the cedar salmon. It was great, but the artichoke parmesian topping was too strong for my liking. Took it to the side of the plate, problem solved, and it was excellent. Great flavor and the peas, potatoes and veggies were just enough. My bf had the mushroom swiss burger. Said it was nothing to rave about, sadly, but not the worst either. Servers was great. Does anyone really like eating this stuff? If you like pseudo gourmet food that tries way to hard to disguise its once frozen nature by taking on additional words in its name and then doubling its price. Then you're good to go. (exp. Cheeseburger for $5 becomes The Original Brewtus Steak Burger for $10) read more

Good food but not so good service so I don't go here very much because of that I don't like it when you have to ask for a refill on any drinks you have and I always have to ask for the check it is not hard to tell when your done as all the plates are empty so sad I would go more but I don't like to see people that don't take pride in there job if they would just go that extra step I would leave a lot bigger tip read more

Ok, it's an Applebees. Nothing spectacular, but I have to give credit where credit is due. It was kids night, the place was packed. The hostess was very nice, seated us as soon as she could. Our waitress was friendly, attentive. I had a Santa Fe Chicken Salad. It was a decent salad. As I said, it's Applebees. My co-worker had a steak and it looked pretty good. Food was fine. Minus stars for service (not horrible but not great). We had a few questions about the menu and server Sarah began to get clearly annoyed. She impatiently said,"I'll get your drinks while you decide." Excuse me? You should have brought our drinks BEFORE you came to take our order. My Dad is 84 and you could have been more patient. Then they brought four salads (only three of us at table) and at the end of the meal they brought my Dad a beer which belonged to the table next to us. One staff member walked over to burger king next door bought food brought it back to applebees and ate her burger king food at a table in the bar area... Enough said? Two more employees came in with food from competition and ate too... My burger was burnt beyond well done... Oh yea the burger king girls mom is the manager... Awful. And I mean that knowing I lowered the bar because it's Applebee's. Super slow service and the food was just pathetic. My wife got one of the worst salads I've seen. Well we went here again last night, it was a friday night around dinner time an the place was packed but we were seated right away in a booth which i always like having with the kids. We got our drink orders in pretty quick but the bar was packed so it took a min an we got our appetizers before we even got our drinks but our waiter was Adam, an that guys the bomb he took care of us very good!!! Even tho it was packed an everything took a min to get we expected the wait with how many people were there an the service (well Adams service) was freaking awesome, all in all it was a good experience again but if you go try to sit in Adams section this guys service is bar none the best ive every recieved at this place read more

The worst ever I have gone to apple bees in Maine and they gave us our food in 15 minutes it took us 1 hour and then we left we came back to complain and guess what? Service was good but the food left a lot to be desired. Ordered the wings they were done except they just poured the sauce over them. The second time was a charm the service sucked. Ordered wings with no sauce and the waitress looked at me like I had 2 heads. Drink order took 20 minutes. The bartender didn't know the difference between bourbon and blended whisky. Nothing to write home about! A bunch of smart aleck kids work there. The bartender was ok. I got stuck at the Best Western across the street last week and went over and had a cold happy hour beer. I looked at the sticky menu and decided to stick with beef jerky and peanuts back in the room. Perkos by the Best Western was MUCH better! read more

The food was great but the service was horrible the waitress only brought out half of our tables meals and forgot the other half when the mistake was pointed out to the waitress she argued. She was unfamiliar with the menu. The manager corrected the issue and was very considerate. read more

Gave this spot another try because my fiance loves there wings. Well our server, doni, was incredible. She made sure we were satisfied with everything. She gave us top notch service. Definatley will be asking for her the next time we stop in. Thanks doni. read more

As a business traveler, I stopped at this Applebees and did not have a pleaseat dinner. Service was very slow. servers never came to my table and offered service. Had to call over the manager to help me. took them 20 minutes to get my first drink and food. Then my drink was empty and server finally offered me another drink after it was empty for 10 minutes and had came over with the check. Really? Over all, I will never stop by here again. The food was OK but the last three times we've done carside to go it was 15-20 minutes after the pick up time we were given. No one came out to let us know anything about our order being delayed or if it was forgotten. Will not be going back due to the poor service. read more

Applebee's is Applebee's and they seem to always have good food. The staff here in Red Bluff were very friendly and efficient.

I called in for a grab and go. A polite woman answered and asked me to hold. On hold for 5 minutes before she was ready to take our order. Two salad wraps with 1 side of fries. She let us know it would take 15 minutes. After 20 minutes the woman came out for our card. And it took another 10 minutes for her to come back with our food. By now the stop has taken a lot longer than it should have, and we race to get back on the road. When we open up the bag, the wraps are cut from end to end, very poorly wrapped, and missing dressing entirely. Hard to hold, poring out of the tortilla, and very dry. Not only that, I had two large chunks of miscellaneous, undercooked, red potato. Very unsatisfied. Oh, and they charged 11.99 for each incomplete salads, 1.50 for each tortilla. A total of $30.06 for this unsatisfying and disappointing stop. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I will never come back to Applebee's again. And I will remind my coworkers and close friends To NEVER come here. We got here at quarter til 6 and haven't received our food. It's now 6:45. A family got here about 15 minuets after we sat down and are already are enjoying their food. For an Applebee's, we had the best experience ever for a chain restaurant. At 3:30 pm the place was deserted, but no one was slacking, chatting among themselves or on their cell phones. Every server had a quick pace and was attentive to their customers. Food was excellent with crisp tender veggies. The chains in the Bay Area should take a few notes. read more

I've gone for dinner, with friends to drink, and on a date here, and not once have they disappointed me. Oh Applebee's... I don't expect much from you but when you completely fail me it really sucks. I called in an order one evening when I was on my way on the I-5 and my hotel was close by. We ordered a salad, mozzarella sticks and some brisket tacos. They gave us a 10 minute wait time but when we got there 20 minutes later the staff kept asking us if they could help us and we kept saying we wanted to pick up our food and kept getting the response of, "oh let me check I'll be right back". After about five minutes of that we were told to talk to the person at the bar because they handle to go orders. We finally got our food, got back to the hotel and found the wrong salad, mozzarella sticks without sauce and no fries or slaw that was supposed to come with the tacos. This was really annoying not only because we were tired but because pretty much everything was missing and wrong. We called back and the guy apologized right away, he knew the salad was mixed up but didn't realize the rest. So we went back and received all of our food that was missing and the correct salad. The new salad was good and way better than the first one that had dry chicken. The tacos were fine and luckily we had a microwave because by this time the food was cold. The guy told me over the phone he would give us a voucher for two free entrees on him but when my boyfriend got back from getting the correct order he handed me a business card with "2 entrees on me" written on it. Basically we have to go back to Red Bluff to get our free apology meals but we will definitely not be going back to Red Bluff for a long time and I was disappointed he didn't just give us a gift card. read more

I took my family into Applebee's for my sons 26th birthday on Jan. 12. My 7 year old grandson made sure our server, Amy, knew it was his uncle's birthday. At the end of our meal the Applebee employees came to our table and sang happy birthday to my son and presented him with a Sundae Shooter. It was a very nice gesture from Applebee's. The bill showed up and I was quick to grab it before my daughter could and handed the bill with my credit card to our server without looking at it.....The problem I am having with all of this is, we didn't ask for a Sundae Shooter and I got charged $2.49 for it. I like Applebee's but it's a shame this has happened and I will no longer eat at an Applebee's again. They lost a good customer over $2.49....... read more

Nice folks good beer. Better than the local bars some of the servers are horrible, and some are great. Not a whole lot of choices of places to eat, and grab a good beer in Red Bluff. read more

Not so great! Stopped here while passing through but could've save the $30 for something better down the road. It was very crowded and stuffy, the food was not so great, and the service was ok. I felt bad for the waitress because she seemed very busy. I only come here when I'm craving their BBQ boneless wings, other than that I never go to Applebee's.
