They have the BEST carnitas ever. My lord, I can't get enough of their carnitas... their stuffed carnitas taco? Was out of this world! Food came out steamy hot and maintained great temperature through my meal. Tasty chips and salsa. I love spicy so asked for spicy salsa to heat up the chip salsa and it was good and habanero hot! The place was still busy for a Tuesday at after 1 pm...and very clean. It was a classy touch for them to notice a messy floor (from customer before us with muddy work boots) and clean the floor before seating us...I didn't even see it! Stayed overnight in Red Bluff on July 4th while headed home. Not many places open but happily found Kaloca's. Service was friendly and our meals were served extremely fast. Hubby can be picky about food temps but he was surprised the tacos were hot. He commented they were the best tacos he'd ever had!! Decided to stop in red bluff and Glad we found this place after driving a few hours we were hungry! We were seated right away. And the service was fast and friendly even during their lunch hours. Back home in Red Bluff and I just wanted something easy for lunch. Kinda tired of Chinese fast food, so I heard this Mexican place was good. Heavens, we sure have a lot of Mexican restaurants here in town. There one right across the street from this place. Parking for being downtown isn't too bad, you can usually find something within one block. I just wanted a burrito to go and go back to my air conditioned house and be cool. I ordered a basic burrito to go with steak. It came out pretty fast and it felt heavy, that's a good thing in my book! Paid cash and I'm outta here. Service was friendly and quick. I get home and unwrap that thing. Usually a whole burrito is a bit too much for me to eat in one sitting, so I used a sharp knife and cut it in half. That gave me a good look at the insides too and an opening to pour some salsa into it. Looked pretty good to me. My first bite, oh yummers! It had that real Mexican taste and was nice and hot, compared to that Burrito Bandito joint on the north end of town ... luke warm food and no real Mexican flavor. OK, I'll get a burrito here again. Solid Mexican food in Red Bluff? You bet! This cute little place has about a dozen indoor tables in the dining room. The location is smack dab in the middle of Red Bluff on the corner of Main Street and Oak st / Antelope Blvd, with street parking right out front! The Service was fantastic! I love it when a restaurant has the waitresses work together in a team effort to make sure that their tables are serviced. Well, this is exactly the method that this restaurant uses. Our drinks remain full the whole time our basket of chips and salsa remain full, and the waitresses were extremely attentive . Now to the food, they offer three different types of salsa, one being a chunky pico de gallo. That's very mild, they have a medium red salsa that's a bit more spicy, but very mild to medium in heat, then there's the green salsa that has habanero peppers in it, making it very spicy. My wife ordered the Carnitas lunch plate, which was a huge portion of Carnitas. The Carnitas had Pacia peppers and onions in it, adding more flavor to the dish, the Carnitas were also slightly crispy, which is a nice texture when you're making your own tacos. I ordered the combination plate with the shredded beef taco and the chili Verde enchilada. The portions were so huge that we could not finish our plates. The food came out steaming hot, which is appreciated in today's day and age to make sure that you don't get a foodborne illness. The flavor for these dishes was on point. They both tasted very good, Delicious in flavor. Overall, I think we will definitely be back to try them again . read more

This place is bomb! We were at the gun show and looked up reviews for the best food in Red Bluff and found this gem! Chili Relleno was the best! Fresh and not a single seed! Lots of cheese and the sauce was amazingly wonderful! Chili Verde enchilada was fire so fresh with great flavor. Carnitas burrito is on point - love how it only has meat so that's the showcase flavor. Rice and beans are tasty and fresh too! Ceviche is fresh and yummy. Add some Tapatio for that finishing flavor! Tostadas are nice and crunch and fresh jalapeños topped it off nicely! Overall I would certainly come back and highly recommend this lovely place!! read more

Don't go anywhere else in red bluff for Mexican food. I already reviewed them on google now I gotta spread the love here...everything by itself tastes good...the rice, the beans, the ground beef is seasoned to perfection, which makes for a really good meal. I tried yaels enchiladas for the first time the visit, and will definitely be getting it again. I've tried their carne asada quesadilla before too and the meat is also seasoned deliciously. While traveling along I-5 we stopped in for lunch. It was a delightful restaurant with authentic decor. This was our very first visit here and the service was friendly and helpful. My wife and I split a 3 item combo, beef enchilada, chicken taco and chili rellano. I also had the grilled fish taco which was my favorite. I would definitely order two of the grilled fish taco's ala carte on any future visits there when passing through Red Bluff. (One additional note, if you have children, there are chalkboards on the wall by each table to help keep the kiddos entertained. It's rare to see a restaurant with so many reviews rated this highly. When I was looking for some lunch in downtown Red bluff, I had to do a double take when I saw the rating here, but after looking at the reviews, I knew this was the place I needed to try. Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo and Sunday so we knew it would be busy and called in our order ahead of time. We had our dog with us and saw that they offer a few tables in the front where you can dine outside. Our food was ready just as we arrived, and they had even added some chips and salsa. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We headed out front to eat and the weather was perfect. We could not believe how much food you get for the price. My husband had some chicken tacos and the taco was so full of meat that the lettuce and cheese and tomato were actually outside of the taco and we had smash it all in. Neither of us has ever had a taco with so much meat! I ordered the Popeyes enchiladas and I love that they have vegetarian options here. We felt the same way about my enchiladas. It was so much food and it really makes you feel valued when a business is welcoming and offers generous portions like this. The enchiladas were absolutely delicious and I would recommend them to anyone, vegetarian or not. They were cheesy and earthy and all the flavors really worked together. I personally do not care for black pepper, and it was clear from the chicken and the beans that this establishment really likes to use black pepper, So I did not love ALL The flavors, however, my husband did and I realized that this is a preference that is very unique to me. I still ate everything, because despite the strong pepper flavor, it was still quite good. The chips were especially crisp with a nicely chunky flavorful salsa. Thinking light, we ordered Fajita Salad and Fajita Quesadilla. What could go wrong? See the photos. I was overwhelmed at the sight of the Fajita Salad and the flavors blew me away. My wife's quesadilla was equally overwhelmingly delicious. We were seated next to an impromptu chalk board. I live in Hawaii where there's little to no great Mexican food, so I look forward to eating at Mexican restaurants while in CA. We ate at Kalcoca's Mexican Grill twice. My wife had a chile rellenos combo plate twice, and the chile relleno was great each time, but the second time, it was spicier than her (mild) preference. I loved it! I like to start at a new Mexican restaurant by trying either a chicken quesadilla, or a torta. For our first two visits here, I had one of each. The torta had good flavors, but was half the size of many I've had. It wasn't as juicy, and the meat quality wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped. The chicken quesadilla was HUGE!! The chips were perfectly cooked, and the salsa was great! Overall, the three of us were happy with the food here, and this was the reason for our second visit. I ordered the #2 combo (enchilada and tamale). The food was great, and the tamale and rice stole the show. Tamale was shredded beef and was one of the better tamales I've had. Something about that sauce was phenomenal! My husband had camarones Ala crema which was very good. Shrimp cooked to correct temp and also in a great sauce. But he was still sorry he didn't split with me...oh, that Verde sauce!!! Portions were quite large. Red Bluff has many Mexican restaurants and I'm pretty sure this is one of the best. A small place with a huge menu variety. We have eaten here numerous times and get something different most of the time. We have had not one thing that wasn't delicious. My favorites are the Chili Relleno and Anything chicken. My husband loves the huge, burritos. He's 65 and one would think he couldn't eat a huge 2.5 lb burrito but he does each time. This small cafe sized delight is not good for large parties or even medium sized Possibly with a reservation. At lunch this place is always busy. The staff is as great as the food.
