I've see this Carlito's Mexican restaurant for awhile but never went. It seems kind more fancy than the usual burrito and taco joint. If I had a date, I'd come here, kinda place. I figured I'd just get a to go order of a burrito. Carlito's is located in the eastern side of town on Antelope Blvd. other wise known as Highway 36. It's set back in a shopping center across the street from Bud's Jolly Cone ice cream and burger joint. Lots of parking. I go in and place my order with the person up front. I just want a burrito to go (steak) and not have a plate with a bunch of sauce over it, cause I like to eat a burrito with my hands not having to use a fork and knife. I guess that's just me. They said they could do that and I waited not too long. I got the burrito, feeling the weight in my hands, and headed back to my house. I unwrap the foil and its all hot for sure. I have some salsa at home, so after biting off one of the ends, I pour some of the salsa on. YES, this was the taste I was looking for, a real Mexican flavor, not like that Americanized Burrito place at the north end of town. The burrito had all the fillings I like and I didn't even finish the whole thing. Save about half for later. Now I'd like to try the dine in at Carlito's.

Prices are pretty much normal for these days, around $12 for a basic burrito and you can add extras from there. I see they do hvae this California Burrito which I've never had. I just don't think French fries belong in a burrito, but that's just me. I ordered a regular Al pastor, marinated pork, burrito to go. No communication problems or anything, easy to order. My burrito was ready in pretty fast time. I picked it up and it was nice and heavy, like a burrito should be. I get home and open that piping hot burrito from the foil. Good sized and smells good. I like to eat my burritos with both hands, not a fan of the fork and knife approach. I used the foil to hold it and bite off one end and then poured in some salsa and topped with some cilantro I had. I'll say this is a decent burrito, no skimping on the meat or anything and tastes like a burrito should taste, not all Americanized like Chipotle or that other place at the north end of town. The chips and salsa were DELICIOUS and super flavorful. The salsa was super good. The service was great. We ordered the margaritas and I got the fajita platter. This had all the meats and all components were AMAZING. The sauce was just so rich and diverse. Every element was excellent, truly. I loved the rice/beans. I cannot describe the sauce but it tasted so unique. These have been my favorite fajitas that I've had. Great work! Overall, I recommend.
