Poor service, ordered the 2 for 20.00 received drinks and salads, 45 min after that we got up and left, never got the entrees, we watched people come in, eat and leave and never got our food, we notified someone from the wait staff that we were leaving and could wait no longer, as we drove away the waitress and manager ran out after us like we were thieves, All in all a poor experience and one I will avoid having repeated by simply not eating at Applebee's again and discouraging everyone I know from eating there. read more

She didn't even bother with finding out if the sides could be substituted. She works for tips and yet she made us feel like we were bothering her by being there. Party of 6, got in to this Applebee's around 9:30pm on saturday. Seated at table 65, with Kaitlyn as our server. The hostess whom sat us was rude. Also spoke loudly by our table about her issues with other employees. Waitress was slow with service and inattentive with food being brought out. We received a plate with browned celery on both ends. Waitress and kitchen not catching this upset multiple people in our party. Asked for a manager, was sent some kitchen cook to talk to us. After 15 mins an actual manager makes it to our table to see how we were doing, we explained what happened and she made a horrified face and tried to bring more celery. So unhonest wait staff and absentee management is the reason we will not be returning. read more

The place was really busy for half-price appetizers. The bartender stole a $15 tip on friend who paid debit card. I had to have the manager fix this. Can't believe the bartender tried to steal $15 though. The food came out all right most of my experiences have not been great here the food usually comes out mediocre or taste like it was frozen before. I have been coming to this place for the last year in a half. Def a big change from good to worse. Unfortunately I ordered a huge meal for Mothers day to eat at home due to the fact that my back has been out for a week and was just looking forward to stay home with the kids. The experience I went through was horrible. To start off I purchased gift cards that come with a $10 bonus that I was not able to use. Secondly my order was not even complete. My kids had to share plates mind you these are small plates for full grown kids who were not happy at al;. Spaghetti was over cooked the steak was not well done. Brownie plate came with literally one brownie when I ordered the box to serve 6-8 people. Etc etc. I do appreciate Erica who was the cashier that night who actually came out her way for the 50.00 that the bonus cards would not cover but I do not see myself ordering from here ever again!! It's Applebee's. I'm pretty sure everyone living in the US has been to one. The food is mediocre, and the staff (no matter where in the US you are) always seem to playing out their roles as the cast of characters from the movie "Waiting." So, why would I give this place 4 precious stars? Ok - so we go to eat with our 4 year old and 14 month old. Miserable, but necessary to teach them how to behave properly. And thankfully, no one has of yet challenged our decision and made me explain to them that good parenting isn't keeping your child sequestered so as not to bother the general public, but to teach them how to interact properly with society. Lesson learned to tonight: Do not trust your 4 year old really know what he wants to eat for dinner. Without even glancing at the menu (with words and no pictures), he states without doubt, hesitation, or any ounce of wavering - that he unequivocally wants a hot dog. Score! They actually have them on the menu. Food ordered and brought to the table, 4 year old looks and sees that tragically! His little brother has been ordered and has received Mac & Cheese. The hot dog is now the most unappealing meal. Ever. After explaining that he has ordered said unappealing hot dog and we will not be ordering him anything different, he slinks to a spot between Daddy and baby, assumingly hoping to steal some Mac & Cheese while we aren't paying attention. At this moment, the manager does his forced visit (no manager visit during your meal? $10 off your next one), compliments us on an adorable baby (required courtesies even though our baby is adorable), and notices a seeming professional pouting pre-schooler. He asks what the issue is. We explain the totally I appealing hot dog story, and there's nothing wrong with the hot dog, he will live, this is a life lesson thing. The manager states he wants everyone to enjoy their dinner, even the smallest members and insists on bringing our now smiling and overjoyed and thankfully using his manners and thanking the manager son his very own Mac & Cheese. Of which, he ate it all. So, although the food is mediocre, and it's a chain, and all that jazz, we thought the manager did a great job in making sure all his customers were satisfied, even the smallest, usually ignored ones. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Well can't say I was surprised. Way to treat your customers like they don't exist. I'm visiting my family in town and wanted to have a meal with my mom. We walked in and stood at the front for 10 minutes with not so much as an acknowledgement that we were there. In fact, one server was sitting at a table in direct view of us on FaceTime. She then took off to the back leaving us there, like I said without acknowledging us. So we decided to seat ourselves in the bar area tables. Still sitting there no one acknowledged us for another 10 minutes. We just decided to walk out and go somewhere else. Ew. When you walk into this Applebee's, it's just grimy. I went here with a large group (8 total) and we were lucky to get the large table - it was the only one available at 9pm on a Thursday. We came mostly for the drink specials - everything is "2 for 1". This is one thing that really annoyed me. Lots of places have 2 for 1 specials, normally around 4-7pm. Not at Applebee's. Here it's 2 for 1 24/7. Okay, that would be cool - if it was a special. But what you get instead are two huge drinks set in front of you at the same time. It's just so unenjoyable to know that you have to chug your first so your beer isn't warm by the time you start your second mug. And it's not like you actually get a discount, either. I ordered a dragonfruit mojito to start. It came out to be able $8-9 for the (unexpected) two, but I am almost certain that the syrup flavoring was pure corn syrup. And I had no idea that it was 2 for 1; I really just wanted to try one, not slog my way through two gigantic glasses of the stuff. Also, the mint leaves were not muddled; they were thrown in as an accidental garnish. And they were entirely too sweet and overloaded with ice. The food was no different. We had a sampler with fried chicken, "queso", spinach and cheese dip and salsa. I swear, this place goes out of its way to find the lowest quality cheese possible, and then adds water to it. The queso makes me nauseous just thinking about it. The fried chicken was on the same par as McDonalds, except overfried. The chips ranged in being not salty at all to extremely salty. The spinach dip was a nonevent. We did get resupplied with additional chips, though. The bathrooms could have used a good scrubbing; it was just a little bit too grimy. On the bright side, our server was nice - a guy fresh out of high school - but our drinks also went empty a few times. This place was pretty packed and I really don't understand why. I have ate at Applebee's a million times with friends and normally receive wonderful service and awesome burgers. Well I cannot say that for this particular Applebee's in Ocala, FL. I'm visiting from California and took my friend out for dinner. We ordered, food was brought to us. We were asked by our server if we needed anything else or sauces. I asked for Bleu Cheese dressing and told they were out. My friend ordered his burger with no mayo. He bit into it and the cooks had put mayo on it. At the end of our meal I asked for a slice of cheesecake to go. The server said they were out of cheesecake. Then proceeded to tell me they were also almost out of another item. How is a restaurant out of several things? How does all this happen to one table? One thing I know is I will never return. I spoke with Andrew the manager on duty and he just apologized and that was it. I said I need to speak to another manager because this is definitely not acceptable customer service. He said how can I make it better? Apparently according to Andrew they had cheesecake and does not know why our sever said they were out. Obviously the team of servers, cooks and managers do not communicate very well with one another. I literally had to ask Andrew to somehow compensate for our undesired experience. He did not even offer any compensation besides "I'm sorry all this happened to you". Please do not eat at this Applebee's, unless you want to experience a similar situation. read more

Waitress gave us cocktail napkins then left without taking our drink orders. Came back later and took our drink order. Then came back for food order. It took so long for 4 simples orders. Appetizer came out at 1:20. Food at 1:40. Which is way too long! Everybody's food got there but mine. Mine came a few mins later and it was wrong. I asked for bbq flavored fries and got sweet potato fries. I hate sweet potato. She was very slow and seemed to be lost. She seemed to be only able to do one thing at a time. I got the triple bacon burger and there was so little sauce on the burger I could not taste it. The only reason I go there is for the beer cheese dip with pretzel. My wife Karen and I went on a date with another lovely couple to the local Applebee's. There was a 15 minute wait at 10:45pm. We were sat by 11pm. 10-15 minutes later we order drinks. By 11:30 we had drinks but then she decided to stop and NOT take our order because Karen had to use the facilities. Understandable right? Come back when the whole party is present. No! She comes back 5 minutes later to take our order WITHOUT Karen present. We then waited another 30-40 minutes for food at a basically empty restaurant at this point. Refills are nonexistent. We had to ask the hostess for our check. Overall our server sucked and we will most likely not be back. read more

I guess we got lucky. Showed up on a Sunday when all the churches are getting out, expecting horrible service and a long wait...It's Ocala...the bible belt stops at the southern tip of Marion Co., so if you're not wearing church clothes or dressed in full "horse" attire, they look at you like you turned off the wrong exit. We were sat immediately. Our waiter, Kevin, was funny, personable, in a great mood, interacted with my kids, our food came quickly, cooked perfectly...all around a perfect lunch. My 8 yr old triplets couldn't compliment the experience enough and eight year olds know everything, just ask them. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I am a server and this is the worst place I've ever been to. Took over an hour to get our alcohol, then the server explained that another server stole ours. When they brought the drinks they weren't the right ones. Sent our appetizers to a different table- even after speaking up that the food runner had the wrong table- she proceeded to give them my food!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!! Wow! Chain restaurants normally are clean & have consistent food/service, not at this location! Upon arrival the restaurant was at 25% capacity, with 4 groups at the hostess station waiting to be greeted. As we were being dated it was apparent the restaurant was filled with dirty tables, our clean table had food debris and straw papers on it. When the food arrived it was okay, our server was pretty good. The real problem seems to be the managers lack of leadership and enforcement of proper chain standards. read more

We ordered delivery at around 9:45 PM on a Saturday because we had some friends over and were in the middle of something and couldn't get away. They all 3 ordered the Mac and Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken and me (not being overly hungry and needing a long lasting snack) order a couple things of the Beer Cheese Pretzels to snack on over the course of the night. We order through the app and Door Dash seems to be the delivery company. The food arrives and we start handing it out only to find that both my orders of BEER CHEESE pretzels are missing the key ingredient...BEER CHEESE. So I call the store to try and get what I actually paid for and the so-called "manager" was very rude telling me they aren't responsible for delivery and he couldn't do anything but refund my order instead of just getting me the cheese. This man hung up on me, a customer trying to resolve an error that THEY are responsible for. Terrible service and terrible customer support. I 10/10 recommend a different establishment here in Ocala, don't waste your time with this place because all you'll get is wasted time and lousy service! read more

Poor service from the start as I was sat down but this time, I had company. It was a brother & brother stake out for him and myself and which we wish for this memory to disappeared from existence. From, which we sit, we were served our drinks at a moderate paste, but without even saying what we wanted as an appetizer, "our server" (I don't know; she left quickly) came rushing by took it and left in a zip. Our drinks came few minutes later, as we placed our order, we had to continuous deal with a rude group of customers on our left/right side with their lighten issue. Our appetizer compared to our Entrée was both unsatisfactory like our drinks - given and rush like a zip. My brother was completed unsatisfied with his experience and food. Even to mention that I wish you were better (it has been in our past experience we have dined here) - . My 2nd steak still was over cooked. Our bill was delivered with no compensation. Then manager said we did not have final bill delivered to the table. Two crooked managers did not care and just walked away. The only good thing about our dinner was the waiter was attentive and the wine was good. It's been years since I've been to an Apple Bees. (The ones in Antioch & Riverbank Ca are horrible!) But our movie didn't start for over an hour so we decided to give this location a chance. Wow...where to begin. Have always thought Applebees was an alright place to go. Decent prices, decent food, decent service. Nothing "wow", but a nice place to go. All that changed today. Three of us there today - us and one son, Justen. This may end up rambling, but there was so much wrong that this list is going to be crazy. When the waiter arrived at our table, he started off with "I'm sorry it took me so long, but I just had four tables come one after the other and I'm so busy and you know how it is; everything happens at once". Ummm... OK. Hello and good afternoon to you, too! LOL I knew we were in trouble... Three drinks: sweet tea with lemon, unsweet raspberry tea and unsweet kiwi tea. We got no lemon and the kiwi tea was sweet. He took our order and said the kitchen had to cut lemons. OK. We ordered 3 course meals...Caesar salads, appetizers and burgers/fries (2 Med Rare and 1 Med). We waited and waited and waited. People that came in after us got food. We asked the floor manger where our food was and pointed out that the others got food. She said "that's because they only ordered appetizers". We told her yeah, so did we...could we at least have our salads? She went to see about getting them. The waiter stopped by to tell us the salads were coming out, but with a three course dinner, they like to space it out and bring the courses out one at a time. Yeah, no kidding. How about giving us the first course??? Refills on the drinks. A sweet tea with lemon this time and a sweet kiwi tea (was supposed to be unsweet - no raspberry tea, was still half full) Then come the salads. Then came two of the three appetizers, then the third. OK. Then the floor manager brings drink refills: an unsweet kiwi tea, a sweet tea and, sets down the unsweet raspberry tea and says "they must've just made it because it's warm and melted all your ice". Great... Thanks for not bothering to bring me a glass of ice to add to the tea!!! The burgers...not one with any pink...one was actually well done and dry. The other two were so greasy there were puddles of grass on the plates. All the fries were mushy and tasted like old cooking oil. Not one of us could eat them. Kitchen manager came out and apologized, but was mostly a song and dance with no accountability for anyone for any of it. He ate the bill, but that isn't what this was about.
