Absolutely terrible service. My fiancé and I sat in our booth for 20-30 minutes, waiting for our waiter to come and take our drink order, then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes for our drinks and to actually place our order for food. Once our food actually came out, it tasted and looked like it had sat under the warmer for longer than needed. Definitely would not recommend. We sat there for over an hour and 20 minutes and only had our food for the last 20. There were other tables that came in after us that got their drinks and food ordered before we even spoke to our waiter. Not to mention, the hostess seemed totally lost that there was more than two couples standing in the lobby, waiting to be seated. read more

I have usually had a good experience with this Applebees but this time was different. Walked in on a Saturday night and ordered a chicken sandwich, as they advertised on the menu. A manager came to the table 15-20 minutes later saying that they don't have it anymore. She seemed rather uninterested in the situation and did not apologize at any point. I instead ordered the chicken tenders. Food was disappointing overall, the tenders were more like nuggets. Then, after I had got my food, I saw another waiter give several people chicken sandwiches, including people who ordered after us. Waitress was nothing special. She also seemed rather uninterested. Before everything came crashing down, the food was very good and we had a party of 12. My family ordered two desserts; very good and the other family didn't. Anyways, we wanted to order another dessert... a lava cake. So the waitress updates our bill *we were charged for it* but we end up waiting a half hour and we never end up getting it because we leave. Half hour into this wait we see the lava cake finally coming but as the lady was verifying to our waitress, our waitress said "no they already had theirs" and give it to another table!!!! First of all, we did try to stop them and tell them "hey we ordered another one remember that's OURs" but no we were ignored as there was no manager on site. We tell another waitress "hey we never got our lava cake" and then our waitress comes up and says "you guys ordered another lava cake?" Uh yeah we did, and then she never came back so we left. I get it, you're busy and it's Saturday night I understand being busy but having to wait a half an hour for this one dessert and you give it to another table? Went here on a Friday night with family, expecting for it to be a nice dinner. It for the most part was a good dinner, besides me asking for a medium-rare sirloin steak. And when it came out that shit was black as the night sky. They should have better cooks making and preparing customers food to their liking. I thought that Apple Bee's had better food and better chefs. After I waited another 25 mins for them to finally bring out a medium-rare steak that I had originally asked for. I would put zero stars if I could. WORST service I have ever experienced. My roommate and I decided to split the unlimited wings, which we have done several times without an issue. Our waiter Sydnee gives us the dirtiest look. We got one plate of wings and after that we waited an entire hour for another plate of wings. The manger and our waiter passed our table several times but did nothing. The manger brought over our food and didn't say a thing. He did not check and see if we were satisfied with our service. He completely ignored us. As a customer I am extremely disappointed. It should not have to take over 2 hours of us waiting. A manger should always check in with their customers and not ignore them as if we weren't even there. Our server Sydnee was extremely rude the entire time. The only person that was helpful was the sever Kennedy. She was not even our sever but we had her before and she was wonderful. We asked her if we could put in another order and without hesitation she immediately put it in. Thank you Kennedy for the amazing service. Not what it used to be, no half off apps and 2 for 20 was 2 for 29 Food came out and it was just sloppy and missing ingredients, when they remade the food instead of making it the right way they just put the sauce on the side, sauce wasn't the problem it was the preparation. When I got my food for the second time they didn't even ask if it was ok or anything else they could do for me. Didn't even bring me another set of silverware with the new plate so I had to eat the whole meal with just a steak knife so it didn't go cold.. Go somewhere else! read more

Super disappointed in our visit to the Mount Pleasant Applebee's on Sunday evening, October 10, 2021. It was our 34th wedding anniversary, and even though DH isn't a fan of Applebee's (I am, or at least I WAS), he knows I love surf and turf, so we decided to go for the "add a dozen Double Crunch Shrimp to any steak entree for $1". Hah. Upon being seated, we were informed by our server that they were all out of the shrimp "special" (bait, come-on, outright advertising lie, whatever you want to call it). In retrospect, we should have cut our losses and left then. Being in pleasant frames of mind for obvious reasons, we shrugged it off and went ahead and placed our orders. Our appetizer wings were awesome, as usual. The wings (and the fact that Yelp doesn't let you give zero stars) are the only reason for the one lonely star on this review. The steaks, though cooked pretty closely to order, were of iffy quality. My sides were wrong, and pretty inedible anyway. The broccoli was raw (at least the baseball-sized chunk that wasn't completely unappetizing mush was), the green beans were decidedly undercooked, the diameter of one of those fat pencils that you give kindergarteners when they're learning to write, and both were unseasoned and completely flavorless. The squeak that resulted from biting into one of the haricots-verts-on-steroids WAS pretty amusing, though. Hub's potatoes were a gluey mess, and his onion rings were, well... weird is the only word that comes to mind. Toss in having to ask for silverware after our mains arrived and in response being handed two bare steak knives, and at a certain point in the evening I wouldn't have been surprised if Ashton Kutcher had popped up from behind a booth and announced that we'd been Punk'd. We have been to the Greenville and Ionia locations, and were happy with our experiences at both (DH simply isn't a fan of noisy establishments, but will tolerate the chaos if the food warrants it). This time that definitely didn't happen, and since he's a one-and-done type guy in these sorts of situations, I can practically guarantee that IF I go to an Applebee's again, it will have to be with a girlfriend. Thanks bunches, Mt. Pleasant Applebee's. $75 wasted, one less option for a casual night out, and a nearly irresistible urge to kick the television every time that commercial advertising the shrimp "special" comes on. Went in for the $1 wings if you purchase hamburger, in the past I have always liked their burgers but didn't like it on this visit, however the wings were good but ridiculously small. The server was more than nice always checking in making sure we were doing alright. I found a hair in my food which I understand happens I brought it to their attention, they made me a new plate but still charged me for it. I think they were trying to be slick bc on the receipt there was: my bfs meal, the app, my meal and my meal again. Then they gave one of mine to me for free. I'm sorry but that's not right. Well where do I begin. Go through Mt Pleasant at least once a week now. Was originally from suburbs of Detroit always had wonderful service and food at Applebees in Whitelake, Taylor, Milford-Southlyon area and Pontiac. First the Mt Pleasant location closes earlier than any other Applebees I have ever been to. So we were down the street and hadn't eaten dinner yet and it was 9pm. We were sat in a section and waited 15 minutes, no server came to our table. Many servers passed us and just looked away. I called the hostess over and asked if the waitress/waiter knew we were sitting in their section. 5 minutes or so pass and the server finally comes to the table. We know what we want and order drinks and food including chicken tortillas soup. 15 minutes later she comes back with 2 bowls of broth and vegetables. No drinks, No cheese or tortillas or anything that made it what I have had numerous times at other Applebees. So I started eating that and was halfway through and my friend looked at me and said let's go. Our pop was never brought to the table. Out in the parking lot the manager came out and asked if anything happened and my friend said nothing happened and that's the problem. He did give her a quick rundown of what did happen and she had nothing. No I am sorry nothing won't be back. My daughter and I did go to the Applebees in Big Rapids. They were awesome and food was good. They are owned by different people than Mt Pleasant one. read more

The best time to go to Applebee's in Mt Pleasant is after 8 or 9 when all of the appetizers are half off! My favorite has to be the wonton tacos, they are so good! The staff has always been super nice! The drink specials are always great as well. I have never been to a bad Applebee's but when I go to one that isn't in Mt Pleasant, I'm just reminded that my favorite one will always be this one. read more

My family aren't the biggest fans of Applebee's but I personally love it. The service is relatively quick. Each table has a little touch screen so kids can play games on it (not for free) but the highlight isn't some touch screen for little kids it's the incredible tasting food. read more

Another disappointing trip to the Mount Pleasant Applebee's. I will say, before I get into things, that the service is always good. I've never had a problem with service, but the food, on the other hand, is pretty terrible. I've had good instances here, and bad ones, and the bad ones definitely stick out more than the good (or more like "decent") ones. So last night, me and the girlfriend go out for dinner and a movie. Applebee's is conveniently located directly in front of the movie theater in town. We decided to go with the 2 for $20 deal, which comes with an appetizer and two entres. We had the boneless wings for our app - a few of the wings were super hot, and the rest were barely warm. The flavor sucked and you could clearly tell these just came out of the freezer. Meh, whatever, wings are wings. Disappointing, but we moved on. Next, our meals come. For some reason chicken tenders sounded good to me - something I would never order. It came with fries and coleslaw - mine was good, but again, the food was barely warm - it seemed like it had been sitting around, but the wait for the food wasn't even long, so I have no idea what the deal was. The big disaster was my girlfriends meal. Advertised as "Creamy Parmesan Chicken", she got a tiny, thing, overcooked and dry piece of chicken that was burnt on the edges; spinach was CLEARLY just came out of a bag. It wasn't steamed like it was supposed to be. It was completely raw spinach out of a bag. She subbed out the rice that came with the meal for broccoli. The broccoli was also raw and pretty much cold. So in reality, she got an overcooked piece of chicken with some nasty cheese on top, raw broccoli, and spinach out of a bag. What. a. joke. We sent it back, and it was clear it was thrown in the microwave for maybe 30 seconds. The spinach came back wilted this time, and the food was still cold because they hadn't heated it up long enough. Completely disgusting meal, all for a great deal of $27 plus tip!!!! This place is a joke and they could care less about what they put out for food. STICK TO BURGERS AND SANDWICHES - everything else is from a bag or microwaved. Those Applebee's commercials become even more comical now after this meal, when I see that commercial of what looks like a fancy chef preparing my meals. I'll attach a picture below if I can.. The experience I had was mostly good. The service was very good. I sat at the bar and received very attentative service. The food was just okay. I had the Chicken Parm and the noodle were under cooked and the sauce tasted a little funky. I would definitely return but order something else read more

Disclaimer: It is Applebee's, you can't expect greatness. We ordered an appetizer of the Boneless Buffalo wings with hot sauce. Semi-spicy, but could have used more sauce in my opinion. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Diavolo since with its spicy shrimp, pasta and all under 550 calories, how can you go wrong? I was wrong. Shrimp were not spicy at all. The whole dish was very bland without any real taste. The chucks of onions in it were barely cooked, which is definitely a no no in my world. My Husband had the 12 oz ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes. He ate the whole thing without complaints. The loaded mashed potatoes were very yummy. Worst service I have ever had, (and I eat there a lot). I sat at the bar and the moment I sat, the two male bartenders were complaining about how they were doing last call at 1015 (saturday night closing at 12). One literally said "Everyone sitting st the bar right now is pissing me off and is annoying." While the other one said, "*Im trying to get rid of everyone at the bar right now" As they both proceeded to complain and talk crap about everyone sitting at the bar, avoiding trying to get any drinks and being incredibly disrespectful to their servers when one tried to stand up saying it was nearly 2 hours before they closed and the servers' tables would be mad-when they are a lot of drink specials! My apps were cold after I waited over 50 minutes for it, (which I get it being busy) but i didn't get a single refill on my WATER because I was uncomfortable to order anything else. We weren't checked on once. I will be coming back just of the amount of times I have come and have gotten a million times better service! I have NEVER not tipped, but tonight was more than necessary. Everyone at the bar was disappointed and appalled the way these two men were working. If I ever get them I will ask for a different server/or leave and won't ever sit at the bar! I have been a server/bartender for years, some days and doubles are harder than others but when you're gonna be stuck working regardless or your money is based off of tips, you would think they would be at least somewhat decent.
