You can bet on sports with the kiosks they have in the bar area. The menu was definitely sports bar in nature with lots of draft beers, cocktails and "bar" food like wings, ribs, cheese curds and other stuff you'd find at a Sports Themed Establishment. The cheese curds were pretty good and there was mustard at the table for dipping. The Bourbon BBQ ribs were fall off the bone tender with a nice sweet BBQ sauce. Had a Day Trip With the Boys™ to the casino and after a rough start on the tables we all decided it was time to eat and recharge our luck. We had news from one of the guys in our group that they had a killer buffet and we were ready to win all our money back there, but like my grandpa, Covid took the buffet away. So we all agreed on Ascend because the prices looked pretty decent. I really dug the look of the place. Classy, up to date, good lighting, clean. Not a super sports dude, but I didn't even mind the tvs showing all the sports things. It was done tastefully. We sat near the stage but weren't there for any of the live music. I'm sure that would have been pretty great. 10/10 Ok, look. I'm a little hungry hungry hippo. I like my food. I was hungry as our schedule forced our hand to skip lunch, short of gas station snacks on the way to the casino. So when it was food time, I was ready. The issue was that they had so many good looking apps. But I'm also a problem solver, so I ordered three of them. I love fried pickles. I find the best ones are the spears over the slices. That being said, the pickle friend were a must. Not disappointed. The spicy aoli they give you for dipping, *chef's kiss*. They were perfectly golden and not overly breaded. 10/10 I've been on a "get as many wings as you can into your belly" kick, so naturally I ordered the ten (10) bone in wings with their sweet chili sauce. These things were surprisingly large and well breaded. A lot more than I thought they would have been. The sauce was *chef's hug*. I did have a little difficult time distinguishing wing breading from wing meat. So I'm not really sure if they were large because of the breading or because of their meat. 9/10 My third and final appetizer were the mini beef tacos. I have never had these outside of a gas station, so I was surprised to see them on a menu, as I don't think I've ever even seen them on a menu. They came on a plate covered in a type of slaw/relish type situation. No big deal. I'm an adult, I can scrape it off. They ended up being pretty damn delicious. Much beefier than the ones you end up getting while putting $20 on pump 6. 10/10 For my meal I ordered the fish and chips because who doesn't like fish and chips? Came with slaw, seasoned fries, homemade tartar, and two nice size chunks of fish. The fish were good sized, loved the breading they used, and the flavor was *chef's pat on the shoulder*. The fries were chonky and seasoned wonderfully. Only thing that would have been a little better was one more piece of fish for the price and possibly the slaw in its own little container. Convenient location for dining at the casino. The food was alright, but nothing to write home about. Salads were ok but their ranch dressing was not very good. The meat on the wings was subpar and the buffalo was lacking flavor. The adult grilled cheese was the best thing we had. But overall average food. The service was good, attentive and quick. Visited Ascend with my husband for a very late dinner (8 pm) while visiting the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. We were greeted by the hostess who went into a very long/confusing explanation that could be summed up with "They had a list but could not guarantee us a table even if we're put on the list". Ultimately, we asked if we could sit at the bar and were told: "If we could find a seat". The bar was busy but the restaurant seating area was not. Staff appeared to be clearing out tables and chairs, so I am not sure if there was an event although there didn't seem to be one. Nonetheless, we found two seats at the bar that had been recently vacated and needed to be cleaned. Someone came over and mediocrely cleaned quickly upon our arrival. A bartender greeted us immediately, took our drink orders, and gave us menus. The service she delivered during our meal was prompt, accurate, and friendly. The atmosphere at Ascend is great. It's a really nice-looking sports bar/lounge. There are a lot of TVs, as well as a very large projection TV showing various sports. The BIG downside is the food. It looks WAY better than it actually tastes, and given that it's not good, it's also pricey. My husband and I ordered pickle fries (app), and burgers/fries. The food arrived quickly and was hot, but nothing that we ate was fresh in that it was all freezer food. The pickle fries were good because even bad fried pickles are still good but you don't get a lot for the price. The burgers looked good but were not good, frozen premade patties and they taste like it. They were edible but not good. The fries had a lot of seasoning which we liked because without it they wouldn't be good at all. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Ascend, which is too bad because the atmosphere is great but the menu/food leaves A LOT to be desired. read more

This restaurant inside of the casino is off the hook. First thing we noticed was the electronic ticker around the restaurant giving the sport stats. We were offered a half an hour for a table but we could sit at the bar and order food so we picked that option. The staff came right out from around the bar, and wiped down the surface, passed out menus, and took our drink order right away. Prices were affordable and the drinks strong. We did try our hand at the bar top gambling video machine and did NOT hit the millions but did get to play for 1/2 hour on $20.00 so it was entertaining. The bathrooms are in the back corner of the restaurant. You have to go out of the restaurant, into the hallway of the casino to use the bathroom, but they were extremely clean and convenient. We were able to order two entrees, two drinks, leave a tip and stay within $60.00. we actually came back after our concert to have a burger and enjoy some free entertainment. We normally eat at Ascend when we're at the casino. Good food and genuinely good service. Tonight we sat at the bar for over 5 minutes while a bartender and manager ignored our existence. Kimberly was the manager. She looked at us several times and walked by us twice. Then 2 ladies came back from break and one was Abigail. She immediately greeted us and offered a drink and menus. Her service was fantastic! The food was great! She needs to train the manager. The only thing Kimberly managed to do in the hour we were there was hold up the counter. Went to Soaring Eagle this weekend and on a Sunday night we decided to try this place. When we sat down at the bar, there were a handful of people at the bar already...maybe 3 or four small groups, one group in particular very drunk who seem to be drawing most of the attention of one of the two bartenders. We were ignored for 10 minutes, until finally one of them come over to take our drink order and give us menus. We got our drinks (no complaints) and had to wait till a third bartender showed up and to give our food order....a pastrami reuben and fries. Let me say that the food we saw being served looks good, especially the nachos...but then fails to deliver. And I mean fails...their seasoned fries to me tasted like they came out of a frozen bag and were not hot, were not even warm. I was completely non-plussed, because usually fries are decent if not remarkable, and these didn't even come close. The reuben? I've had some bad reubens, but this didn't even come up to that level...the red saurkraut was bland and the whole thing was dry. Bleah. If I end up putting pepper, mayonnaise and red hot sauce on everything, you've not done your job. Coupled with the completely indifferent service I'd say go elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin? I came in with my handicapped mother who needs to use a walker to get around. The host I don't remember his name proceeds to speed walk us to our table. We lost him for a couple minutes and he pointed to where we can sit. Didn't bring us to the table at all. Our waitress seemed like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. She was cocky. She took our drink order and it took 19 minutes for her to bring us our drinks. Once we got to ordering I ordered the chicken basket and cheese curds, my dad ordered the classic American burger and my mom was going to eat off my plate assuming I was actually getting 15$ worth of chicken tenders. The cheese curds arrive and there was about 6-7 of them and they were tiny. Like are you kidding me? 9$ for 6-7 cheese curds??? We got our main dishes and there was 4 chicken tenders and some very over seasoned fries. Chicken tenders is usually a safe option. NOT AT THIS RESTAURANT. The chicken tenders were soggy and had no taste to them what so ever. When my dads burger arrived it looked like a frozen patty that had been crushed. My dad and I ended up switching meals but this hamburger had absolutely no flavor. How can you call yourselves a sports bar and serve disgusting food? It's been a few hours since we have ate here and we all are feeling horrible. NEVER AGAIN. you guys need to work on your customer service as well as your cooking. read more

Service is very inconsistent. Once I actually left my table and got my drink from the bar because the seven people serving 20 guests couldn't be bothered. Great beer selection and awesome service, didn't like that there were commentators from a radio station trying to broadcast a different game during the the MSU game that I was trying to watch. TV volume kept being turned up and down during the play. If you're going to advertise for people to come and watch their favorite teams, let's try and make that game the spotlight. read more

I met Bobby the shift manager.... he should make you proud, what a personable and informative gentleman!! Our waitress Samantha exceeded our expections and was so on it!!! I've been here 3x now. 1st time was great! 2nd time, my husband and I got drinks at the bar fairly quickly but then sat there with empties for over 10 min, during which another couple came up to the bar and sat there for over 10 min without one person to greet them. They finally got up and left without any service. We left and got better service at the casino bar. Brushing that one bad experience off, my husband and I made plans to go there to watch a football about a month ago (even got a hotel home), only to find out AFTER the game had started and requesting them to change the channel to the game (which was another whole big thing in itself bc apparently only one person knows how to change the tv channels) but they told us they don't get NBC. It's a sports bar! If the tv provider doesn't provide the channels necessary to accommodate your SPORTS BAR, switch providers. It took so long for anyone to even answer us as to why the game wasn't on and even when they did, they were rude about it and took forever for anyone to cash us out so we could leave. We missed half the game by the time we got to the other side of town to bdubs, which again, defeated the purpose of our hotel room. The place is absolutely terrible, so don't go there expecting anything great as far as fast friendly service. The interior design is the only nice thing about the place. My sister visited last night and let me know her bad experience which confirmed to me that place is just horrible. read more
