9/7/18 was terrible. Seated (2 of us) waited over 20 mins and had not even been acknowledged. Finally the table next to us received their food and although the manager was attentive to them she proceeded to walk away again not acknowledging us until I said "excuse me miss" to get her attention. Placed our order and the server who then was assigned our table was not friendly, gave us looks, and made us feel uncomfortable. We very much inconvenienced this staff by having dinner at Applebee's. When in Grants Pass consider other choices as not all chains are one in the same. read more

Are you kidding me. My friend and his wife took me here for dinner. The bill was $137 for three of us. The food was microwaved Cr@p. The $8 drinks were weak in small glasses lots of ice. The service...what service...Slow Slow Slow...Then the kicker...the waitress wrings out a dirty wet cloth on the carpet so close to me that my leg gets wet. When I bring it to her attention..she blows it off and says they clean the carpet every week? This place is run down. The bathrooms are marginal..like somthing you might see at a Taco Bell in Mexico. Visited restaurant on 9/19/14. My family and I have been seeing the All You Can Eat crosscut ribs promo airing on TV. Once seated, we noticed it wasn't on the menu, nor posted in restaurant. We were informed by our waitress that the promo had ended. My family and I left the restaurant and went somewhere else. Service was slow, we arrived around 3:30. There didn't seem to be a lot of wait staff present. Currently, we are watching the Oregon vs Washington State game. Again, the Applebee's promos are running. Checked the Applebee's website and what do I find? First slide on site is the All You Can Eat Crosscut Ribs. It'll be awhile before my family and I visit an Applebee's again. Seriously, every single time my husband and I eat here, we are highly impressed! We try to get something different when we do eat here and we're never disappointed by the choices! Used the "curbside" feature on their app for a 6:30pm pickup time. I waited in the car for 15 minutes and tried calling to let them know I was waiting and their phone wasn't working. Went inside to get my order and it wasn't ready. Had to ask hostess 3 different times when it would be ready she was completely clueless my 6 year old granddaughter would have done a better job. Waited for 45 minutes before getting my order. The fish was disgusting and stank, my pasta was a glob of dried out noodle. The only thing that was half way decent was the extremely small portion of coleslaw. This meal cost over $30.00. Worst experience ever will not go back. read more

I have no idea why this restaurant does not have better reviews! The food was amazing but what made our experience so amazing was our server Jessie. She was so attentive to when we needed refills and always came by to check on us. We overheard her conversations with the other tables and she was just so personal and sweet to everyone. The food was good. The service was the worst. We got there got seated and the waitress brought menu took our order. Drinks came out slow, but the salads took over fifteen minutes and we had to ask to get them. Then while we were eating then they said the food was ready and did we want wait to finish our salads or bring the out now. We said now. That took another ten minutes. We also asked for one more ice tea and that came out just before we were ready to leave, and we had to get a third waiter to bring us takeout containers. Then the waitress asked if we want a bag to take out the food in but never brought the bag. We had to stop at t hostess station for one that the guy dropped on the floor then handed to us. DO NOT order the chicken fajita roll up! Corporate needs to delete that from the menu! Was about 80 % lettuce, 10%tortilla, 5%sauce/spread of some sort/ and 5 %chicken parts. Manager tried to make it right, but second one was pretty much the same. How many fajitas have you seen with lettuce? Service was good, just feel like corporate America is putting a stranglehold on store to cut overhead to get their shareholders more dividends! I took a lady who has a developmental disability to meet some friends she hasn't seen in over a year to Applebee's in grants pass even though we live in Medford. The four of us ordered but only the other party got their meal. After an hour we left and the waiter tried to give us our meals in a to go box which we refused because we were leaving and had a half hour to 45 minute drive home and also we were hungry and wanted to get food to go so planned to go through McDonald's. We were completely ignored for an hour and couldn't get anyone's attention until the check for the other two guests arrived. Horrible experience for us. read more

Normally can go to Applebee's for a standard fare and it's consistent and decent. This location was the worst of the worst! Long, long wait for everything from water to orderring to food. Not busy, servers standing around and had to get their attention every time. Food was so bad. A warmed up microwave dinner would have been just as good if not better. If there was a way to give no stars this establishment deserves it. I have had food not prepared not as requested many times. I don't choose to go here but we have had meetings here and it seems they just always have issues. So because I didn't want to eat here today I did the drive up. I asked all the right questions and they were going to come right out with the food. Lies! Was passing through and stopped for dinner. They were not very busy and the hostess didnt have any menus ready. We were seated and the waitress was good and friendly. I got the grilled salmon and it was dry, the green beans were good but didnt have any garlic taste. The baked potato was good but they just put sour cream and forgot the butter. My friend had the same and they messed up his side order. Broccoli instead of green beans. His salmon was also dry as if it had been out for awhile before being cooked. . Ok so let's acknowledge that this is Applebee's. Not expecting a Zagat raved experience. That being said....our table was sticky, our utensils weren't clean, I asked for appetizers to come with the meal (they came before), my daughter's chicken strips were rock hard, the tortilla soup was the worst I've ever had and don't get me started about the wait for our food. Our waitress was MIA, seriously. We mostly interacted with a totally different waiter. It took every bit of an hour to get our meals. AT 1pm on a MONDAY! After driving in the car for about 9 hours, Grants Pass was a welcomed stop to stretch our legs and find some food. Lohi (our GPS), found Applebee's for us so we decided to stop here. Normally I'd give a place like this 3 stars since it's a safe and predictable menu. But this time I'm throwing in an extra one. I was traveling with the parental unit and they, being vegetarian, have special dietary needs. I shoulda checked and heeded the advice of the good people on Yelp. I walked in from a local hotel and sat at the bar, with three other people, not busy, and waited 10-15 minutes before I got an insincere "hello". Soon after that I put in an order for a beer and it was delivered along with a menu. The bartender disappeared for lengthy periods and a few of the other bar flys were making comments on how service seemed slow. I can understand that if you are swamped, like Joes Sports Bar was earlier during the Packer game, that service can slow down a bit. But this place is dead and it seems like the bartender doesn't even care. Customer service is out the window as far as I can tell. It's almost feels like my presence pisses them off as I am just one more job for them to do. Really off putting and I won't be back. Other bars with great food nearby are JD's and Joes. 100% better service, with a smile, and fantastic food and drink. Sorry Applebee's, the bartender is the face of the brand when you are in front out of town and this one is pretty sad. read more

I don't know why I continue to give this place a chance. They ALWAYS disappoint! Had to stay in town for the second night in a row due to the snow and road conditions at my home. So mom and I went to Applebee's. The only menu item I rarely have a problem with is the Oriental Chicken Salad. That was my plan, but the menu cover had this appetizing and very appealing meal with a steak covered with shrimp with some sort of sauce. I showed the waitress the picture and said, "I want this." Showed her the picture! It was on the cover of the special menu. On the cover. The ONLY picture on the cover! So it isn't a tiny picture. Honkin' Big. Our wait for our meal seemed a little longer than usual (the folks behind us were served their meal within 5 minutes). I received my meal and although I hollered after my waitress, she didn't hear me. My mashed potatoes were COLD. Not even warm. My steak was WELL. And chewy. (I asked for Medium.) And the shrimp were still in the ocean somewhere as they were NOT on my steak. My mom's meal was also cold. I asked the host to get my waitress and when she came back I asked her where my shrimp were. She asked me "Did you order shrimp?" WTF, I showed her the GD picture where there are clearly shrimp swimming atop the steak! She said, "I'll go get you some shrimp." Another five minutes go by. I used the little game/appetizer order kiosk thingy on the table to notify my waitress that I needed her and still no response even though she was behind me delivering the people's order. The bloody thing has a flashing red light for criminy sake. So I get on my cell phone and call the Applebee's and ask for the manager and I ask her to come to my table. As she gets to my table, the waitress (finally) shows up with my shrimp. Meanwhile, my barely lukewarm meal is now cold and mom is nearly done with her meal. So I explain the situation to the manager. I tell her that I know this isn't a five star restaurant, not even a three star restaurant, but that when the food is brought out, it should be at least warm, not cold. My steak was tough and chewy (besides being WELL and cold); my mashed potatoes were cold. The manager apologized and really went into some excuses about what she was doing. She said that they had new management since the 1st (it was the 4th), and that they were working on things and that this kind of thing shouldn't happen. I told her that everytime I came here this happened. Everytime. (This Applebee's once actually made me miss a airplane flight they're that slow.) She offered to redo my meal, but I said, "My mom is done with her meal - even though it was cold as well." I was just so overwhelmed and upset with the experience, I told her I didn't want anything. She comped mom's meal (and obviously mine) and off we left with me still hungry and very upset. I asked my mom, "Did you think the manager came off as condescending?" And she felt as I did. So even though they have NEW management (for four whole days), this Applebee's still sucked. This will be the very last time I give them a second (or 20th) chance. read more

We were a party of five (four adults, one child) on a Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and we were seated quickly. The waiter was running around, took awhile for the menus to show up. When we were ready to order, I requested "NO MSG" in my food ... uh? Waiter brought over their Allergy notebook and left it for me to find the meal I was gonna order to confirm there wasn't any MSG. Think the meal would have tasted better with MSG as it was without any flavor whatsoever; the chicken was somewhat dry. It was some kind of curly pasta with artichoke hearts and crispy spinach. They need management help SERIOUSLY!!! Just went in for lunch every dish they gave us was DISGUSTING!!! I was half way done with my beer and realized the glass was dirty in the inside it had lip marks and food particles on the inside, so nasty couldn't finish it!!! Ew we normally love the pretzels and they were gross, their fryer oil is OLD!! We will never go there again and it's a def. stop when we are on our way to medford, at least once a week!! We asked for a booth because we have a 3 year old. Even though there were MANY empty booths, we were told no, we had to have a table because the server where the booths were was overwhelmed. It took over 45 minutes to get 2 salads and Mac and cheese delivered to our table. I can prepare, eat and clean up those items at home in less time. Once we got our salad, the didn't get the memo about "dressing on the side" so we had to send it back and it took another half hour to bring a new one. Went here last night (7/5/2014). Service was, as always, abysmally SLOW, and this time the food was also mediocre to poor. Wife had the Chicken Fajita Wrap that was practically void of chicken! Her wrap was supposed to come with dipping sauce, but didn't. The food deliverer said she'd bring some, but never made it. I had the ribs which arrived dry and luke- warm. This was after waiting nearly an hour, so we were so hungry we just ate it anyway. There were very few people there, so was not at all busy - therefor no excuses. The manager did give us $10 off a $70 tab when we complained. This restaurant seems to have a very high personnel turnover. Wonder why.... Perhaps the owner should study up on what it takes to run a restaurant. read more
