We have not gone back to this Applebees I nearly two years b/c of such a horrible experience. We have gone to Applebees in Florida, however and the food, service and cleanliness was great. We were hungry and had heard that this one on Morgan Avenue was under new management, so we stopped in. The manager sat us. The table before ours and the one after it still had the last family's leftover plates still on them. And you could tell it had a while since the customers had left. My grandson and I went to Applebees on Morgan Street in Evansville, Ind. it was around 11:00am. A young man , Orlando, was the only person sitting people and taking and delivering orders. A group from work ordered lunch to be picked up from Applebee's. We waited 30 minutes after promised time to actually get our food. When we got it to the office, we found salads with brown lettuce and some chicken. Considering we had ordered different types of salads, we couldn't determine who got what but it didn't matter because there was nothing other than brown lettuce and chicken. I paid $15 for this salad that I couldn't eat. We called and spoke with the manager who promised to send us all gift cards via email and took down our email addresses. We've been there before and the food was usually good. Went twice during the last two weeks. Top notch service and the food was great. The sound level was good. My visit on January 23rd, 2024 did not go well. The DISTRICT MANAGER was there and staff were on edge. I ordered the "all you can eat" shrimp, riblets and wings. The service was inconsistent at best. The riblets were burned beyond recognition, void of any sauce or taste. The boneless wings were inedible. Hard, crusty with little to no chicken discernible within. Even the sauce was substandard. Applebee's is no longer the preferred Neighborhood Grill and Bar it once was. They still have great specials for two people such as 2 for $20 or 2 for $25. Half priced appetizers and drink specials. The food is hit or miss. Visited this location on a Sunday at 1230pm. There were 39 people in the restaurant. Three tables were speaking to a manager for cold food and long waits. One table only one person ever received food. We waited for 45 minutes as tables before us received steaks. Once we received a burger and pasta we waited another 15 min for napkins, silverware and drink refills. Now this could have been an off day and things happen. The beer cheese was way below par not terrible but definitely not worth the price given that it was delivery the steak was good enough salad was fine. The pretzel bread sticks were so heavily salted It was hard to even eat them combine that with the subpar beer cheese definitely not worth the price. read more

Our appetizer was brought out to the wrong table by OUR SERVER, then taken to the back and brought right back out to us. The chips were burned tasted like burnt oil, the spinach dip was cold. All of the sauces on the sides were spilt over onto the apps. Then when my bourbon street steak came out it was way over cooked (supposed to be medium) and way over seasoned, and the mashed potatoes completely tasteless. Awful service for everyone seated with our server. Other parts of the restaurant were getting drinks and food. We saw other servers hustling. Our server, however, was rarely seen. We made three separate trips to the bar ourselves to get our own drinks bc she would not even make eye contact when she walked by her tables. Multiple groups left after being seated bc she completely ignored them for over thirty minutes without even getting their drink orders. Groups that arrived even an hour after us ordered, ate and left while we waited for our order which was placed well before those parties even walked in the restaurant. Upon arrival to the Pick up entrance, I waited for 5 minutes, as 8 different employees looked at me and walked past without any acknowledgement. Finally someone came out with my order. We were pretty disappointed with our experience tonight at Applebee's. The service was awful and the food was okay. Our server, Amari, was very very slow and you had to ask her multiple times for things and it seemed like our drinks were always empty. At our table we got the 2 for $20 with 2 side salads with honey mustard dressing, which was the highlight of the whole dinner and the cedar lemon chicken which was alright. The chicken was dry, the rice was bland, and the toppings on the chicken didn't have much flavor. We also had a pick 2 appetizer meal with the pub pretzels, which were very tasty, and boneless wings with sweet Asian sauce, which were very gristly. I would not get those again. Lastly, we had the oriental chicken salad, which was alright and had way to many noodles on it. Then, when we were paying, we tried to use the machine at the table to pay and it was not working so we had to track down our waitress, which took another 12-15 minutes to do. We asked the hostess to get our waitress, after waiting 5 minutes and she couldn't find her. Then we had to ask the manager with hair the color of a stop sign to find our waitress and she wasn't much help either. Finally our waitress appeared and had to take the card to the back to get it to work. Needless to say, we won't be going back to Applebee's any time soon. read more

We went to Applebee's on Morgan Ave. because I had a gift card. This was possibly the worse meal I've ever had. Our entrees were absolutely horrible. I had the BBQ riblets and my husband had the chicken penne pasta. I can say that the salads were the best thing we had......even though we had to wait 45 minutes to get them. I understand staffing is low, and I'm not complaining about the wait.....the quality of the meals were awful. I just ate at my local Applebee's. Service was a little bit slow. I had one of their burger deals with an add on salad. It took more than five minutes to get a glass of water. Fortunately, the salad did arrive before the meal. When the hamburger came to the table , it looked good, but upon the first bite, I discovered it was rare. which I did not order it that way. The french fries were cold. I know some people may like it this way, but the cheese on the burger was overwhelming, which took away from the taste of the beef. On the menu next to where the burgers are listed, it shows an add-on salad for two dollars and some change, but when I received the bill, I was charged a price of almost $4.00. I called the manager to the table and then he found it in the front of the menu as an ala carte item, and said I got a good deal. I must say that was not a four dollar salad. My wife's meal was, in her opinion, actually very good. She had the blackened cajun salmon and broccoli. I thought that the manager's lack of response to informing him that my burger was rare and french fries were cold, was really lame, and he just walked away after I complained about it. read more

Holy crap was this bad. 35 mins of waiting for food wasn't the worst part. It was the empty restaurant and the employee that endlessly tried to avoid talking to us about our food. We should have guessed something was up since as soon we walked in the hostess looked at us asked how many, and walked away from us to get someone else silverware. Once someone else took us to our table and we did not get silverware by the way. We sat for 35 mins for our order which was simple enough that anywhere else it would be out in 15 mins. My wife asked to speak to the manager, and I guess the manager wasn't told about it for a bit cause it took her 6 more mins to get to us. The food was at least hot and was edible. Probably the worst Applebee's I have ever been to. No... I was the worst I have ever been to. After waiting for 10 minutes, a waitress walks by and asks me if I have been helped. I said no ma'am,so she apologized and said that no one told her that I was seated. Lol. Root beer was flat, French onion soup was cold, and my bourbon street steak came out 30 minutes later on a dinner plate with raw onions. Lmao. I told them them that it's supposed to come out on a skillet. They said there was a new line cook going through training in the kitchen. I asked, who is performing quality control back there? With a blank stair she responds with, so you wanna speak to a manager? I said no madam, please just take it back and have them prepare it correctly. 30 minutes later and after sounds of joking and loud laughter coming from the kitchen so loud that the whole restaurant could hear,the meal turns up. Picked up order to go and I called the number on the Togo sign when I arrived. They said they'd be right out. 30 minutes later they came out and asked if I was picking up order and I said yes. The server said, "well they didn't tell me". When I got home, no chutney on the bone in pork chop. we asked for plain burger with the items on the side and it was all on the burger, and we ordered celery with our wings. That was missing also. MGR wanted to make it up to us, but I said no. this is the third time in a row we've had issues. We will most likely just choose to go somewhere else from now on.
