I recently tried Kipplee's for the 1st time on a Wednesday evening. I ordered pickup around 4:45 pm and was quoted 40-45 minutes for pickup. The restaurant itself was a very cool atmosphere, clean, and cozy. While waiting on my pizza to finish cooking I grabbed a beer at the bar area. The bar was very spacious and I loved the barroom decor, however the noise level was off the charts. I ordered a large sausage, pepperoni, and jalapeno pizza , which was pretty good. I also ordered 1/2 of the fan favorite hot ham and cheese. I'm glad I only ordered 1/2 because the flavor was horrible and it went into the trash can instead of. I would definitely stop in and give them another try. read more

Well I would normally ever do this but the exception has been made. We went to Kipplee's tonight for eat in Evansville Indiana. When we got in the bar it was extremely load even though it wasn't busy. Before we could sit down at a table in the bar, the server, Alexis D, asked what we wanted to drink. I odered a beer and amanda ordered a coke. Those who know I drink and Amanda does not. The server brought 2 draft beers to the table and not Amanda's coke. I asked Alexis why there were 2 - 22 ounce beers and she was combative saying Amanda ordered the same as I did. Lol yeah never in a million years would that happen, Amanda hates beer. She gave us a disgusting look and walked away to get her coke. She left the second beer at the table and said I would drink it... ummm no it's dinner. I wanted to pay and walk out before ordering. Needless to say the second beer had 75% left and was warm piss. I order bottles most of the time to just make sure it's cold. The rest of the service was extremely subpar at best. Most know we are 30-200%+ tippers. She made her bed lay in it and I don't like being judged as a person trying get something for free. That is not me ever! She is lucky for $6 I wanted to leave $0 but Amanda is much more of a bleeding heart than me. Still should have been $0 tip consider it a blessing! She didn't charge for the coke but your looks pissed me off. Never going back read more

They make the best ham and cheese sandwich that I've ever had. I've tried to make them at home but they never quite hit the mark. So yummy! There pizzas are great, to. I can eat a whole 16" pie myself. It may take a while but I'll get it done. Servers are pleasant and friendly and there when you need them. I'd highly recommend Kipplees! read more

Visited Kipplee's while passing through EVV on my way to this year's Indianapolis 500. Sat at the bar for a couple of beers and lunch. Kitchen got our Breaded Pork Tenderloin order wrong; served grilled by mistake. Instead of sending it back, we went ahead and ate. Bartender was more interested in her girlfriend sitting on the other side of the bar and it took forever to get our check. I had to call to her across the bar twice to get her attention to pay the bill and then she slammed my credit card down in front of me without even a "thank you". Very unprofessional and unfriendly. I guess she is more interested in serving her locals. Kipplee's hasn't changed much at all since it was Larry's Stadium Inn back in the late '70s when I was attending ISUE, except the service was much, much better then. Will I go back? Called to place an order. The kid working answered the phone with a "uh hello?" I asked is this Kipplees? He answers with an insolent "uhh yaa." Then I say I want to place an order for pickup. He says "what can I get you MAN. " I've heard good things about the pizza but have never tried it. We stopped by and ate in the bar this time. They had good beer draft deals on Thursday night for $2.39 pints. We ordered the loaded pizza and added cajun sausage with all the other ingredients that were on the pizza already. I like the way they cut the pizza into squares rather than slices. The medium pizza was 14 inches that was more than enough for for the two of us. This was during the covid dining restrictions but we enjoyed ourselves in the bar area with proper distancing. The pizza was a definite no. Crust was perforated flat tasteless I'm not sure it was a yeast dough at all. We ordered sausage green onions and mushrooms. The toppings were diced very fine and would have fit in a 1/4 c measurement. read more

A good stop for pizza for a large group. Service was great even if they had some issues with getting glassware. The pizza options were good. We tried the supreme, sausage and pep, Philly cheese steak, and buffalo chicken. The crust is thin and the pizza is a bit greasy- but in a good way. If you are on any type of health conscious diet, you probably don't want to visit Kipplee's. This is somewhat of a fried food haven. My friends and I were in town and wanted to watch a basketball game before heading to our hotel and then out for the evening, so we landed at Kipplee's. We tried a variety of appetizers to start (all of which were fried if I do remember correctly), and they not only filled us up, but they were inexpensive! Yay! The Dough Dogs, basically mini-pigs in a blanket, were a favorite at our table. They also have drink specials, which worked out perfectly as we watched the game. By halftime, I was ready for real food. I had a burger, which hit the spot. Nothing fancy, but it's a sports bar, so I wasn't expecting that. Additionally, there was plenty of space and TVs readily available to watch the game. There's actually a restaurant side and a bar side; we sat on the bar side. The bartender was very kind and let us turn up the volume for the game we were watching. (Though at one point my friend scared him... or he scared my friend. I'm still not sure, but that's another story.) Service was fair, but prices were ALL veryyy inexpensive, which you can never complain about. We left with a win and full bellies (haha)... so I'll drum that up to an A-OK experience. P.S. I've talked to a few folks from Evansville after going here, and they all spoke highly of Kipplee's, if that helps with anything. read more

Sat at the bar area because it was my grandma's birthday and she really wanted pizza here. Had the WORST experience at a restaurant. The server/bar person forgot to put in our food (which was only 2 pizzas) and we waited nearly 2 HOURS for them to come out. While other tables came and went that ordered pizza. After saying something to our server, he went back to the kitchen asked us what our pizzas were then plugged it into the computer. Still waited another 20-30 minutes. He told us we would get a discount for waiting so long but he only took off 5$ and our bill was still 100$. This was a terrible experience for my grandma on her birthday, and I suggest people go to the family room instead of dinning in the bar area. Unless you are cool to wait 2 hours. If you're looking for a restaurant that is no frills and just a typical Evansville/Southern Indiana bar experience, Kipplee's is your place. I hadn't been here in many years until coming here this past weekend with my dad when we were in town for Easter looking for a place to watch the Final Four, and I was THROUGHLY impressed with the atmosphere, food, drinks and friendly service. If I had to pick a stereotypical "dive bar," this place would hit the nail on the head. I was amazed with the prices - I guess I am used to Indianapolis prices but I was like... "$4.39 for half a stromboli and side?! WOW!" The half was plenty by the way. I couldn't even finish that. I can't imagine attempting to eat the whole sandwich. Okay, so the food obviously isn't the healthiest or the fanciest but it is SO. GOOD. I had the buffalo stromboli and my dad had a grilled chicken sandwich. We shared fries and both agreed that all of our food was really good. Kipplee's also had good drink specials. We were there on a Saturday and 22 oz. domestics were $2.99. We left happy, full and not at all thirsty. I'll definitely be back here my next time in Evansville. read more

I remember when this place was Larry's Stadium Inn and if you were leaving, but still had not finished your cocktail, they would put it in a "to go" cup for you. Wow, things have changed since the 80's. As for the food at Kipplee's, it definitely isn't gourmet, but with the low prices, one cannot complain! I am a Sunday regular, sometimes the bar, sometimes the family room. Normally we have superb service. And I mean superb 30% tip, superb. Wow, today, did not compare. Maybe it was just an off day, but my order was written wrong, they took it back and made the correct order, but by that time the correct food came (20 mins later) everyone was done. I ended up putting my lunch in a to-go box. I get it, it was a mistake, but please, compensate me somehow. But no, our server just began snatching stuff off of our table. She did apologize, but I didn't eat lunch and I'm taking my entire lunch home. I think it only fair to be acknowledged. Send me home with a free coleslaw or take $5 off of the bill. Instead, we got attitude from the server. We will wait until 4 next week and go to Turoni's. read more

Great place to watch a game and drink a few beers. The bar area has lots of cozy wood booths, and they have drink and food specials every night of the week. There is also a family room for those under 21. The food is good, I especially like the soups they make daily and the pizza. Love the servers, they are friendly and fun. Stromboli is amazing and we love the fried cheese cubes. The table at the booth where we were sitting was so wobbly our drinks sloshed over. It was annoying that everytime we moved the table wobbled. I thought maybe the staff was just unaware but when I looked under the table, there was a huge stack of napkins under one leg in an attempt to keep it from wobbling. They have great sandwiches that are all under $5 that come with chips. The bar area is none smoking which is a great place to hang out with friends. Their drinks are also cheap and they have 99 cent beers on monday and $1.99 well drinks on wednesdays and $4.99 pitchers on sundays. read more
