This is a hidden gem in Evansville! Honestly, I went there because of the restaurant of the same name at Animal Kingdom. But, they aren't the same! That's good news!! All the fantastic, perfectly spiced, flavorful, home made food you can't get at Disney. The garlic naan was amazing with crushed garlic and butter on it and lightly grilled to perfection. And the butter chicken is amazing with just the right amount of warm spices and just the right amount of "heat". I went with a 4 on the heat level, I would try a 5 next time, but be ready beyond that! The food is amazing and I will definitely be back when I'm in town again. read more

What a great place! We were in town for the night, found this restaurant and thought it looked interesting. I'm so glad we drove the extra few minutes here. It's a smallish, pleasant place with warm walls, booths and tables. Our server was prompt and efficient, we had an appetizer, my husband got lamb saag, and I had the sampler copper plate with lamb. Everything was hot and delicious. We had lots left over. The menu is a bit overwhelming so don't hesitate to ask questions. Choose your spice level carefully, even a 2 or 3 is pretty warm. read more

Delicious Himalayan/Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Evansville! The menu is huge with tons of options. Everything is ordered with a spice level on a scale of 1-10. Level 5 was perfect for me. I had never tried yak meat before, and the steamed yak momo were so delicious. Super moist with strong flavors of ginger and garlic. The dipping sauce was a great addition. It wasn't the best chicken korma I've ever had, but it was still delicious. The portions are generous and come with a big scoop of rice. The service was great. The servers were welcoming and helpful! There's a small parking lot out front, but it can get full during peak hours. read more

Terrific little place in a strip mall on Lloyd, in E-ville. We were in town for a weekend, and facing a huge amount of casual dinner choices. Yak & Yeti sounded good & was rated well on YELP, so we dropped in. Very clean, smelled yummy, lots of take out happening & the place filled up. Service was quick and efficient. Menu offered much choice and was a good value. We had a beer and a glass of wine, momos & chicken chowmin.... Excellent fare all around! Excellent value as well. I had never tried Himalayan food, and didn't even know that was an option before I tried this on a recent work trip. The shop is located in an out of the way strip mall, and the interior small and cozy. I was greeted with 30 seconds of arriving and the server was super attentive. I tried the Momo Dumplings for an appetizer, and man did they deliver! The texture was perfectly steamed and chewy, while the filling was scrumptious. I asked the server for a recommendation on a dinner item and was told to try Chicken Domo. This place offers 1-10 stars, of which I ordered a 6. The meal was totally delicious, but the heat was more than expected, which was a pleasant surprise! Go here and you won't be disappointed. read more

When I looked at this restaurant in Yelp it looked great. I was excited while reading the menu and love northern Indian food. That said, while the food looked enticing it was pretty average. I ordered spicy chicken domo and chcken tikka masala. I asked for it to be hot, it was mild, I hoped the masala sauce would be rich, it was light and watery. The naan was also pretty average. This is Himilayan cuisine which I felt had heavy influences from Indian food. We tried two appetizers- the fried spinach is crazy good! The entrees were so plentiful and filling. Did not try dessert this time like we usually do but I'd say overall, you would not be disappointed in your experience. Detoured off the interstate after reading reviews, and were glad we did! Clean, bright decor and prompt, attentive service (with a smile!) prices very reasonable for generous quantities. I apologize for not recalling all of the dish name correctly, but we had two appetizers: Everest chat (plenty to share) and the fried spinach 'chat'-- enough for four or five! The photo in the menu is deceptive- it's quite a large bowl! For my entree, I ordered a tandoori chicken with green salad (I think it was on the Appetizer listing, and could've fed two), and my companion had the lamb Rohan Josh, spice level 8. For both, the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. My companion said spice level delivered as ordered. Rice accompanied the lamb. Garlic naan completed our table, and tasted homemade. We did our best, yet left with two go-boxes. If we are passing this way again, we will definitely stop at Yak & Yeti! read more

Had to give this establishment a try and omgsh! So fresh, delicious, and with the theme, made you feel like you were in the Himalayas!!! Service was good, but I did have to ask for more water. Ordered the chicken Tikka Appetizer and it was delicious! My husband ordered the chicken Biryani which looks like a pot pie in a copper pot stuffed with chicken & basmati rice, served with an amazing yogurt sauce! I ordered the chicken Vinadaloo and some garlic Naan for us both. It was amazing! The yogurt sauce by the way, goes with about everything! Make SURE you know how much heat you can handle. They offer 1-10 heat levels and we settled for 2. It was the equivalent of the heat of a medium buffalo sauce, in my opinion & I like spice. I highly recommend this establishment.
