We stopped here after shopping. We order 2 quesadilla burgers that come with unlimited fries and a brew pub pretzels. We were brought out fried very soon but they were cold, hard and dense. My quesadilla burger was replaced 3 times because it was cold. My pretzel was totally forgotten and brought at the end of the meal. I was approached by 2 managers and all that was done was the pretzel was taken off our order. The restaurant itself was dirty....stuff all over the floors. read more

I've been here a few times hoping that the customer service will get better each time but it actually got worse. We were on a triple date and all three guys squished on one side of a 4 person booth (mind you they're tall and bulky) while the girls were on the other side, it was uncomfortable to say the least. So we moved to a bigger booth that was too big seating about 8-10 people. A table in the back would have sufficed, as I have seen them and they were available. The waitress obviously went back and talked about us to the other staff because we received nasty looks during dinner AND a manager came up to us and was very rude about the seating situation. I've worked in restaurants before and I'm positive that this isnt any way to treat people who you're serving, supposed to be getting tips from and who will be writing reviews about you. Each time I've gone, we were not greeted, and given water/beverages for about 10mns. I'm sure there's training protocol regarding a 45 second wait to greet/acknowledge your table, not a 10mn wait. By far the worst Applebees I've ever been to. Makes me hesitant to go to any others! Please work on your customer service. read more

Worst service I've had in a long time. Server forgot to give us menus, took 10 minutes to get a drink (bar was practically dead), waitress smelled terribly of B.O, and to top it off, the waitress also forgot to give us one of our boxes. Needless to say I won't be going back. read more

Last time, we were there, our food came out absolutely cold (tacos - we had them before and they were usually excellent). Meanwhile our waitress never came to the table, so we signalled another waitress, that ran back and we think the manager came instead. We told her my tacos were very cold, she stuck her finger inside the taco and confirmed that. She took the plate back and took an eternity to come back, our waitress still no show. The manager comes with my tacos and stands there until I've tried them and they were piping hot because they were of course microwaved...she was just standing there ackwardly, after she finally left, I simply couldn't eat anymore. We were always cordial, polite and understanding but we were not going to tip well, I think I shouldn't even had to pay for the tacos, actually. We paid our check (since our waitress was still missing) with their on the table system, and left the minimum tip (should have been nothing). The waitress came back and gave us a crinkled receipt. We're never coming back. read more

Just... why would you eat at this chain when there are so many great local restaurants in Eau Claire? I tried. I tried to be open, and it was just as terrible as I thought. It's over-priced for what you're getting. I got a salad and it was just bad. We also shared sweet potato fries. In the words of Gordon Ramsey, "IT'S FROZEN!" Not only that, but you can taste it. The waitress wasn't much better. The atmosphere just feels... Sad, dead, empty. I will not be coming back. To any Applebees, for that matter. read more

Came to the Applebee's eau Claire for the first time in a while because everytime we come it's horrid service. They had a wait, but the entire back section of the restaurant had open tables and no one sitting back there? Got told 25 minutes went and waited in our car for 20 minutes came back in and they hostess didn't even take our name down and know that we had been waiting. Anyways we sit down they have the $1 lemonade cranberry vodkas for the November special. Our table of 4 ordered 4 and then the waitress came back went to get our refills and came back to inform us they ran out of pomegranate so the drinks can't be made? It says nothing about pomegranate on the post on the doors on on Facebook. So 7pm on a Friday and the monthly special runs out? Not impressed. read more

Hey. Thanks for giving me food poisoning twice. If I ever need to drop a weight class for a wrestling match that I'll never participate in, I'll come back. If I ever have the urge to puke and shit at the same time just so I can call in sick to work, I'll come back. If I ever want to break up with someone in a vicious way, I'll come back and make sure she orders a three course meal. But if I ever end up in a zombie apocalypse and am foraging for scraps of food, I'll probably just cut my own leg off and dine on Korean bbq over an open flame. read more

We had a gift certificate from Christmas. Dinner was very delicious. It was busy, but the wait staff were excellent and very polite.

Applebee's your friendly neighborhood waste of space. Never had good service and food is always just average. Hopeful it will close so we can get something better in its place. My recommendation is to go elsewhere. read more

Two of us ordered different burgers. Both were dry! Egg on the one was over cooked.was looking forward to running down burger didn't happen. Fries were not freshly cooked and way over seasoned. Plus the floor and window where we sat were not clean. read more

Terrible service. Waited for 15 minutes to get my order taken. No greeting or niceties. Also then waited for food for a full hour-for one person. No refills were given or asked about for my water. Will no be returning and suggest others to steer clear of this restaurant. read more

I am a vegetarian. For about 10 years I have always ordered the oriental salad, in both salad and wrap form. I always sub a side of fries for the chicken I don't get on the salad. This is the first time in ten years I have ever been charged for this substitution. Quite annoying. read more

Sat at the bar and had the sweet potato fry with dips for an app, very good! Had lemon plank chicken and it was also good! Service was quick and friendly! read more

My wife and I stopped by for a casual lunch on a Sunday afternoon and wasn't disappointed. The food was very good with sizable portions of ribs, shrimp, tenders and fries. What impressed me the most was the service provided by our server Rach. Great understanding of the menu, great attitude, and charming personality. She engages in conversation and makes you feel very welcome in the place. Very attentive and always coming back to see if there's anything more shed could do. For a casual dining place, she exceeds the norm. I give her an A+ for her service and A+++ for character and personality. Good luck on your intended career. read more

Ate here last week. A customer was upset with her server and demanded to talk to a manager as we were waiting for a table. Not a good first impression right as we are walking in. Once we got to our table, our server took forever to even greet us. We ordered the artichoke dip, wasn't horrible but wasn't great either. Everything else was just average, I probably won't eat here for a long time. read more

The entry to the restaurant smelled like bad seafood. We walk into the restaurant to a group of four people waiting to greet us. AWKWARD! The service was so-so. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was in styrofoam(obviously not oven cooked as I remember from past visits). Our entrees were timely. The garlicky spinach needs to be cooked. Raw garlic with wilted, warm spinach didn't go well. My husband ordered dessert, which took a little bit of time. However, the server brought the check before he received his dessert. She dropped the check off and promised that the dessert will be out soon. We won't be returning... read more

A group of friends and I stopped by for half price apps. Definitely a good idea. There were plenty of vegetarian options- I had the crispy green beans with horseradish sauce. Delicious and a large portion. read more

Went out with a friend and had a great time! The food was amazing and came at a steady pace, not to long of a wait. The drinks were also amazing. The waitress was polite and outgoing. The experience was a very good one :) glad I got to spend it at Applebee's. read more

After deciding giving this place another try I found plastic baked along with my French onion soup order will not reccomend eating there.

Got seated immediately. Friendly waitress, refills kept a comin on drinks. Atmosphere was bad however, you could hear everybody and for some reason they decided to blast the football game to an unbearable loudness. Ordered an app of mozz sticks - came out fast and were pretty good. Meal itself was Iffy. Boyfriend got cowboy burger and I got a chicken sandwich. Started off pretty good but the aftermath was horrible. I felt sick the rest of the night. Service A- Atmosphere D Food C Come if you want decent greasy food that is served with a smile read more

We went here last week and had a 2 for 25 dollar meal. Mine was way too sweet (chicken tenders and macaroni) and my brothers was way salty, he had the penne and grilled chicken. Goods good, but wouldn't say great. read more

Went there with my family and had not a great experience. First of all, the host wouldn't wash our table well when we ask if they can wipe it down a little. They would come over and have a big attitude about it. Bad customer service!! The food took a long time to get to our table. It was not even busy in the restaurant at the time. Our waiter was good, came and check on us couple of times. Also, had a positive attitude. Reason for the one star was the first impression of the host, not too good at all. Overall the food was alright, could of been presented better on the plate. read more

Fish and chips with a side of coleslaw? Wow. Three tiny strips of fish and a little coleslaw same size as the tartar sauce rip off for 10$. Fast food fish on a bun is a bigger portion. Lame. read more

Applebee's Grill + Bar - American Near Me - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

When I was seated my table was a little bit sticky. When the waitress took our order she stayed back and had a mask on as this is protocol due to COVID, however, I had a hard time hearing her. When I said "what" she very loudly repeated herself--but with an attitude as if I was wasting her time. My friend got a salad but no silverware and the waitress did not come back to check on us for about 15 mins. Another waitress brought us our food and got us silverware. The original server walked past but never checked on us and I had an empty water for approximately 20 mins before she came back to refill it. That was the only time she checked on us. When she brought us our checks there was a mix up. We waited another 10 minutes for her to come back so we could explain the mix up so it could be corrected. She grabbed the receipts off of our table and crinkled them up, not saying one word, and walked away with them. It took a few minutes for her to bring the corrected receipts back and when she brought them she set them down and didn't say one word. I have never had such a rude waitress anywhere I have ever been. read more

The food is average, tastes like it's frozen and microwaved. The servers and host were quite awkward. Our waitress seemed annoyed the whole time. read more

Where to begin... we waited 20 minutes from being seated to place our order so the apps would be half price, and it took 15 of those 20 minutes to get 2 limeades. Then once we placed our order with the waitress, Taylor, it took 55 minutes for our food to arrive. We asked Taylor several times what the hold up was, and all she would do was give excuses about them being busy. The restaurant was maybe 85% full at that time. My father went and got the manager, who proceeded to give us the same excuses as our waitress. He did not handle the situation appropriately at all. There was no discount on the bill and the apology was insincere. The food was mediocre and cold by the time we got it, and the limeade refills took 20+ minutes. We generally like Applebee's, but this particular restaurant will not get our business again. read more

Great restaurant! The unlimited amount of buns were so goo! They had a lot of new appetizers and entrees which was a nice change from other places. The service was tremendous and on top of things throughout. The environment was welcoming and very nice to look at. read more

Would give it 0 stars. Did not get greeted, when they did notice us. They turned around and just started walking us to a table. They took our drink order, got that. Put in our food order... took 45 min for a raw hamburger, mushy kids Mac and cheese (and spoiled yogurt) and a flavorless shrimp fajitas with stale tortillas and undercooked rice... considering I'm 6 months pregnant I was pretty annoyed. Oh and the waitress was extremely slow. Definitely took her time. Saw her talking to other co workers a lot. (I Felt bad for the girl she was training) Anyway. The manager came and apologized which was nice and made my husband a new (better) burger. But we just took it to go and didn't replace anything else. Still ended up paying $26.80 for I don't even know what. And the waitresses attitude was just getting worse and worse. So I definitely recommend you not wasting your time and money which sucks. Because I've always liked Applebee's in the past. But this experience just definitely ruined it. read more

Decided to eat out on New Years Eve 2012. The two young ladies running hostess duties had no idia what they were doing. For example they told everyone the wait time was 20 minutes, yet at any one time I could count no less then 3 and up to 5 empty tables. Also tables sat for a very long time before being emptied and cleaned. To add insult to injury the table we were seated at sat empty and ready the entire time we were waiting. I thought these two should have ensured all tabels were cleaned and ready in a timely manner and they did not. They continued to operate in their own little world, customers were leaving because of the delays and they continued to call names for people no longer at the resturant. Drinks from the bar took a very long time, it always seems like the bar is understaffed. Training, training and more training would correct this problem. read more

This was not a good choice for me for dinner. There were a swarm of flies around our table that buzzed around our food and faces. We were waving them away constantly. This was inside! The food was mediocre. I had the salmon and it was dry and tough. The garlic green beens had clump se of congealed garlic butter on them that was a weird texture. I've been to Applebee's before and never expect too much from them but the flies put me over the edge. It was not pleasant. read more

My wife, child and I just went to applebees for lunch the other day. Everytime in the past no concerns ever. This ocassion was different. Our server clearly just got off training maybe that day. We ordered our drinks it took about 15 mins. Then when we were ready to order my wife ordered deep fried shrimp, they were out. Then our server grabbed a menu gave it back so she could choose somthing else and he just stood there! So out of impulse she ordered strawberry salad... out of strawberries. Ends up getting the fajita roll. 40 mins later the bartender brought us our hard as a rock blt and cold as ice fajita roll. After we attempted to eat and stopped I asked for the check he brought it back and THEN tried to ask me about my day and small talk. Im sorry I have worked in the food industries for 9 years and watching this poor kid fail during the slow period and in his section was only us and another 2 top.. I think you guys need to make sure they are fully trained before sending them out on their own. read more

I am trying to figure out how this restaurant is still open. I heard that the servers classify you...so...I did an experiment. I dressed down and took my kids there for dinner. The service was terrible. Needless to say the server earned her tip (TIPS INSURE PROPER SERVICE). Of course I complained to the manager and he sent me the total amount of what I spent ($60). When we went back (dressed up) the server was all about waiting on us...until he found out I was using a comp card. It was all down hill from there. I tipped this server because I know having to put up with his coworkers lack of customer care must have blown...but he didn't earn it whatsoever. When my niece came to visit from Medford for dress shopping, I told her not to go to Applebee's. She didn't listen. They waited almost 2 hours for their food. Told ya so! Won't go back...but the one in Albert Lea, MN is amazing! Totally recommend that one for sure! read more
