My review is for the iHop side of the combined Applebees and iHop restaurants. Upon my arrival, I had to wait to be seated for about 5 min (place was not busy). The ambiance was what you would expect. I was seating and my drink order (OJ) was placed. The OJ was from concentrate and tasted bitter, like it had some grapefruit mixed in. I ordered the steak omelette and when it arrived (see photo) it was large and looked good, but when I tucked in, I found it to be greasy and the steak might have come from an old donkey. The gal serving me only checked on me once, and the second time was to bring my bill. Overall, not impressed. 2 stars at best. read more

We have been sitting here for over an hour. People are complaining on standing for over 40 minutes - not being seated. 75 percent of the tables are open. We say at the bar, and have been waiting for over 35 minutes for food. Over heard another table stating they have been waiting for almost an hour for food. There seems to be plenty of waitstaff as they continue to walk around not serving food. Do not come here unless you want to wait for over an hour. Waited 10 minutes to be seated with no line, with multiple servers that walked past us and ignored us. Finally got seated, then waited another 20 minutes and was never even served a water before we left. Multiple servers had walked past us and saw we had no waters. When asked by a waiter if we had been served yet, we said no. She then walked away to grab our waiter, when our waiter finally came around, she proceeded to ignore us and help the table next to us, in which they already had their food. read more

The food was good, exactly what I would expect to get at every Applebees I go to. staff was friendly and accommodating, and our server did a great job! but I have to absolutely RAVE about the manager (I'm sorry I didn't get your name, but young man with long blonde hair) and how he handled all the entitled, stuck up, rude ass holes that walked in. table by table, people came in with shitty attitudes and took it all out on the servers and especially the manager, expecting life to hand their fat ass egos free stuff. I don't know what was up with Eau Claire, but having just stopped through, you guys are entitled ass holes that need to learn some manners and respect on how to treat people. Thank you staff for doing a great job despite the negative people that have nothing better to do than make people feel bad because they're sad in their own lives. My friend's 21st birthday was yesterday and we decided to make the jenk decision to go to this Applebee's for her special day. We had a lot of excitement to come here for the $1 drinks during half apps time. We were very disappointed to hear the news that she could not be served because her license was still horizontal on the hologram, despite her being 21 and the date of birth being right smack on the ID. This place is rancid! From a former employee's standpoint, this is a really bad environment. Hands do not get washed, food is still being used after falling on the floor, and the new management is unforgiving and discriminant. There were several employees with disabilities, including myself, that have worked there for quite some time and were all let go once new management took over. read more

Hubby and I stopped here on the way back from MN. Hubby loves Applebee's southwestern salad. I had a soup and salad combo. He said his salad tasted like it had been put on ice. My soup and salad was ok... Something you would expect at a chain. The soup tasted like spaghetti sauce. It was tomato basil. Meh. No bread when we asked. It's only for people that order pasta dishes. See photos of our dishes. There were about 5 or 6 wait staff for 10 tables and they still took their sweet time. Our waiter was lackadaisical. Hubby's salad came with a 'schmear' of his sauce on the plate showing they didn't take the time to wipe it in the kitchen. Sounds picky, but just an example of their attitude. If you are traveling southeast on 94 and are hankering for something at Applebees, go a bit further to Black River Falls. The yelpers give that a better rating. Applebee's have had their hit and misses with their entrees, but tonight I was impressed after not eating there for awhile that they actually have healthy choices in their menu along with the calorie count. I was looking for a lower carb meal and they actually had just a grilled chicken breast that came with two sides. This helped as I was able to pick two veggies instead. I had a low carb meal. The grilled chicken was juicy and tender. I had two choices of the garlic green beans Nice to see a menu with calories and if heat smart. So many people are watching what they eat and this helps. This will be a restaurant if choice for when I want to go out to eat but still want to eat on the healthier side. read more

I had a meal this night with my lovely family, but there was not only food on the ground right next to our table, it was hot in the restaurant, plates all over empty tables, and then when we got our food my dads burger was cooked to be brown, the bacon was burnt, the salad was no more than romaine lettuce and seasoning, the waiter didn't punch in my moms order so we had to wait for her food to come out, the waiter didn't refill our beverages and my dad even had to get up to refill my moms. My husband and I were at Applebee's in eau Claire, wi last night. Never eat at Applebee's in Eau Claire again. The manager was completely rude to us, someone took Mike's wallet - he accidentally left it sit on the table and the manager claimed to have cameras but would not even let me ask if he would check the cameras. He just kept cutting me off and asked me for a contact phone number. I kept asking if I could ask him a question and he kept talking over me and kept asking us for a contact number. Jeffrey is the name of the manager who was extremely rude. Do not go to Applebee's in Eau Claire. We both got up and went to the bathroom, he left the wallet on the table or the booth seat and forgot it. The manager claimed to have cameras but would not even let me ask if he would check the cameras to see what happened to it. We had to call the non-emergency police number and file a police report so maybe the cops can check the film/camera footage. Never eating at the eau Claire one again, and that WAS my favorite place to eat. The way things are cleaned and sanitized now, they would not have seated anyone unless it was properly cleaned and sanitized. So the next people in the booth were very unlikely to have found it. The officer arrived there and was told that the camera does not point toward that table. So we found it odd that he brought up the camera footage to us at all and said that he watched it... Applebee's has been my kids favorite place to eat lunch for many years. Sadly, this is no longer the case. This location has gone down hill dramatically in the last 3 years. Bottom line, It is filthy. The carpet stinks like it hasn't been cleaned properly in 10 years and makes the entire restaurant smell like stale grease. Every visit, our table is sticky and makes my skin crawl. I'm afraid to think of the cleanliness of the kitchen. I have given them many chances to turn my opinion around and I'm done. At our last and final visit, we should have turned around and walked back out the door. There was only one other person at a table. (Not a good sign during lunch hour. I'd guess the words out.) You could have heard a pin drop. Not one TV was on, no music, nothing. We were placed next to the other women (poor girl could hear every word of our conversation as she was trying to relax with a drink, and appetizer) and when I asked if we could turn a TV on or at least some music the waiter told me the sound system hadn't worked for a week or so. So we all sat there in an awkward silence until the obese dishwasher waddled out from the back and plopped down only to carry on about how tired and exhausted she was in her soaked, filthy, food cover shirt. It was repulsive. The poor lady sitting next to us finally whispered that she had a bad feeling when she walked in. She said she was going to order a meal but decided on a quick appetizer so she could get out of there. She was as disgusted as we were. Our food was fine but not worth returning for ever again. I got a job here a couple days before the lock down, during my interview I had mentioned that my last job was sketchy with paying me for the hours I worked. I was told "oh that won't happen here" I had to leave when the lock down hit, NEVER got paid For the hours I wasted in that shit hole. I have been back multiple times asking for a manager to get me my pay she claims all of our checks were sent out.. but I never received mine. weird. i Had someone give the manager my phone number, I finally received a call from her which turned out to be a butt dial i answer excited to finally speak to someone & she's just screaming at her husband/kids.. I am here for business and the hotel recommended several local restaurants but when you travel a lot, sometimes you want to feel like you are in your neighborhood! I looked at Yelp and wasn't impressed BUT the reviews were all old and I decided to give it a shot, I am so glad I did. I was greeted right away by a friendly hostess, I wanted to order to go and was directed to the bar. Molly (bartender) was awesome. She was interacting with everyone and doing her job making and serving drinks all at once! I ordered the Lemon Cedar Chicken, my favorite, and a house salad. I had a gift card from Christmas to use, and my son was in town so we went for lunch on a Friday early afternoon. Initially, the host said it would be a 45 min wait, then the manager informed her to just clean table 45. The place was busy, it is understaffed, and the manager just kept walking around in circles, doing nothing. The host, completely out of breath and can hardly walk, some sort of medical condition, but trying. The server, trying her best, but overbooked. My chicken bowl was alright but my son wanted a steak...totally disgusting! The steak was about a half inch thick so really, he couldn't get medium rare like he wanted. The side of broccoli was completely bland (maybe a little salt and butter) and the Mac and cheese was terrible tasting like liquid smoke was added?!? We stopped here after shopping. We order 2 quesadilla burgers that come with unlimited fries and a brew pub pretzels. We were brought out fried very soon but they were cold, hard and dense. My quesadilla burger was replaced 3 times because it was cold. My pretzel was totally forgotten and brought at the end of the meal. I've been here a few times hoping that the customer service will get better each time but it actually got worse. We were on a triple date and all three guys squished on one side of a 4 person booth (mind you they're tall and bulky) while the girls were on the other side, it was uncomfortable to say the least. So we moved to a bigger booth that was too big seating about 8-10 people. A table in the back would have sufficed, as I have seen them and they were available. The waitress obviously went back and talked about us to the other staff because we received nasty looks during dinner AND a manager came up to us and was very rude about the seating situation. I've worked in restaurants before and I'm positive that this isnt any way to treat people who you're serving, supposed to be getting tips from and who will be writing reviews about you. Each time I've gone, we were not greeted, and given water/beverages for about 10mns. I'm sure there's training protocol regarding a 45 second wait to greet/acknowledge your table, not a 10mn wait. Last time, we were there, our food came out absolutely cold (tacos - we had them before and they were usually excellent). Meanwhile our waitress never came to the table, so we signalled another waitress, that ran back and we think the manager came instead. We told her my tacos were very cold, she stuck her finger inside the taco and confirmed that. She took the plate back and took an eternity to come back, our waitress still no show. The manager comes with my tacos and stands there until I've tried them and they were piping hot because they were of course microwaved...she was just standing there ackwardly, after she finally left, I simply couldn't eat anymore. We were always cordial, polite and understanding but we were not going to tip well, I think I shouldn't even had to pay for the tacos, actually. We paid our check (since our waitress was still missing) with their on the table system, and left the minimum tip (should have been nothing). The waitress came back and gave us a crinkled receipt.
