This restaurant is a joke! The staff is so rude and not very kind or intelligent. I was visiting family and went with my California ID. The bartender took my ID and said "I'm calling the cops I think this is a fake ID." Then I had to wait almost an hour sitting there for the cop to come and tell her she was wrong. The people at this place are pathetic. I talked to the manager and they had the gall to ask me if I still wanted a beer I said too bad so sad you treat your customers like crap. Me and my brother were looking for a Sunday night hang out and we found it here! At first glance, you might think this place is just a college bar and Menomonie has a lot of those. But the food is great, the drinks are cheap and good. Not a lot to complain about! Plus they are open late on a Sunday, which can't be said for a lot of the bars downtown. We ended up just playing darts for an hour or so and hung out. Would recommend and go back! read more

Was here for the first time ever on 11/19/2020. These are Covid times and the pictures u will see prove this place is above it and Covid friendly. They take care of staff and take care of the customer still serving up- above-par food at a great price. I don't get out to see y son often. I have been like many not going out and staying home. But dang it, it was time to get out and social distance and give this place a try. Check them out when u stop into Menominee. You will love the ling row of bucks on the wall(The place used the be called Bucks). Wisconsin is serious about Deer, beer & and cheese. Get the cheese curds. To die for. Great customer service. They were very attentive the moment we walked into the door. We ordered right away and they brought our drinks out within 5 minutes. What a gem! The service was excellent. There were 3 in our party and we all had different cocktails and different burgers and we were all happy with our choices. The burgers are seriously good here! The bill was not more than I expected. This place strikes me as a regular's bar type place with warm wood tones, comfortable outdoor and indoor seating, and the music was set just right. I am a regular at the Silver Dollar in Menomonie. I am very satisfied with the overall great service and food. BUT! I am very disappointed to say the least. My absolute favorite food to order has been taken off the menu:( the street tacos are to die for but they were gone too soon. The Silver Dollar is always enjoyable. I have yet to have a poor experience there. The menu is fairly limited, composed mainly of hot dogs and burgers, but the items they do have are very good. A personal favorite is the Stout Knapp and co. Burger. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. During the warmer months they open the front doors of the restaurant into a patio on the front sidewalk making for an open feeling which is very enjoyable. Good bar with good food. They have a nice selection of beer on tap, and their food is decent. My wife ordered the Friday fish fry and thought it was great. My kids got kids meals and seemed to like them. I ordered the BBBLT, which is supposed to be a blt with triple bacon. I honestly felt it tasted like a normal blt with not much bacon, which was disappointing. I also paid to upgrade to the garlic parmesan fries. And while they looked good, it was basically just dried parm sprinkled on top of dry fries. I'd go there again, but will hope for better meal outcomes next time. read more

We met family on a Friday Night. The hostess was extremely friendly and even suggested we pull a chair up to our table for our extra person. The food tasted amazing--the fish fry offers both lightly breaded and breaded fish. The fish tasted fresh and we were offered generous servings. The fries are the best!! My only complaint was our server, Sam. He continually brought our bill and appeared "put out" when we asked for more food/drinks. We tipped at 20%, but when we left, it was painful for him to say goodbye. You will enjoy your experience at Silver Dollar if you have any other server. Look. The previous owners really screwed this place up. Don't let that other review from three years ago fool you, the Silver Dollar (aka the buck) recently came under new ownership and just re-opened like two months ago... it's an awesome place to hang out. As far as bar food goes, this place takes the cake. Really good burgers, apps, and hot dogs, and with twenty beers on tap and many many more in bottles/cans, it's hard to be disappointed. It's a nice place to go for lunch, and then it's where all the Stouties hang out after 10pm. I invite that other reviewer to come back and give it another shot. The Buck has like six tv's, a jukebox, and a whole game room in the back (darts, foosball, pool, buck hunter). There's talk of live music starting next summer, but we don't know if those are just rumors yet. Bottom line: under previous ownership, I wouldn't even tell people I hated to go here. Now, it's just incredible. Don't let that other review fool you, this place is awesome. It's good to have a classic Menomonie staple back up and running, and running well. read more

Never went to the place while under prior ownership. I believe they are now under the same ownership of Jake's on the north end of town. This place can turn around a table faster than some fast food places. They have a smaller menu of standard issue pub grub which they cranked out amazingly fast when I was there with my family. This is one of my top picks in town for lunch. The Rueben is the best in town in my opinion. Another dish that I highly recommend is the buffalo wings, they have amazing flavor and are not the typical wing you get at most restaurants in town. My boyfriend and I usually stop in on Wing Wednesday because it's 5 decently sized wings for only $3.50 and you can get as many orders as you'd like: the service is quick and the staff is super friendly. Excellent service! Eggs Benedict was yummy. Prices are reasonable. Potions are generous. They open at 10 am for breakfast. I arrived 15 minutes before opening time. Everyone was very friendly. I was told to come on in and take a seat. The server almost immediately asked if I wanted water and something to drink. This used to be my all time favorite place in college, which was less than a year ago. Now we went back and a bunch of the menu is gone, the fries were soggy, and our sandwiches were not good. We waited an hour for three burgers and an order of fries on Sunday after this place was strongly recommended to us. I knew something was wrong in the kitchen when the wait staff apologized for the long wait after only 10 minutes in, which was then followed by lots of excuses about how busy they were in the back despite us being only one of four tables. After several table visits and nearly 45 minutes later, the wait staff stopped visiting. At the 60 minute mark, we asked them to check on the food, indicating that we had to leave shortly, but we were told, sorry . . . it was still being prepared. We finally got up and left, and then had to settle for MacDs. Big let down. Horrible experience and we will never return. read more
