My android cell phone had lost connectivity to a wide array of icloud products and services, and an​ enormous ten year collection of photos. The person who greeted me guided me to resuming full functionality in less than ten minutes. Also there to replace a ten year old MacBook, he took the time to listen to my computing needs and discuss, without any pressured sales pitch, the possible pros and cons of various models, and even the peripheral equipment I might want to consider. We made an appointment to demo the Vision Pro VR headset. We were able to check in quickly, and Ross gave us a very thorough explanation of how it worked. The vision pro was fitted to my prescription, and he was able to walk us through all the settings and capabilities or find someone who had more information. At the end, we got a recap of the features. Though we didn't buy that day, the demo really helped us understand how it worked in a way watching videos didn't. I think it's a good service they offer and was done efficiently. Whenever I do come to this Apple store, it's always packed, but there is enough staff that you aren't ever stranded waiting on help. read more

Apple Store at Willowbrook Mall is super busy. My visit to this location took place at least monthly before we had a Cheesecake Factory in Queens! My daughter was usually with me and we stopped in occasionally on weekdays when this store isn't as busy. They were always professional answering my questions. I was planning ahead for the new devices when they came out. They don't pester you if you are just looking. If you frequent the mall or live nearby you should check it out. Went to the Apple in Willowbrook Mall for an appointment to fix our phone. We arrived few minutes early but the associate checked us in right away. After a few minutes, a specialist came and ran diagnostic on the phone. They determined it needed a hardware repair for the camera. We got a 2 hour window to come back and pick up the phone. We came about 2 hours later and the phone was ready for pick up. The camera blur issue was fully fixed. While the diagnostic took place I wandered around the store. It has all Apple products on display, excellent inventory. The associates are very friendly, constantly asking customers if they need assistance. I also saw an associate doing an open session for doing drawings with Apple Pencil. I was really impressed with this store. read more

The techs are easy to talk too and are proactive to get you taken care of and out of the store. I always end up getting an extra item even if I'm just in for maintenance. I experienced a warranty issue that required a portion of my device to be replaced. The Apple Genius Rep by the name Juan, assistant me. Juan was very professional and thorough. He ran a diagnostic and found that my Apple Care coverage via my carriers protection plan had expired and the repairs would not be covered. He went the extra mile to seek assistance to resolve my issue be engaging technicians in the back. Came in because time machine was not downloading/saving to my external drive anymore. Took almost 2 hrs to be seen. Once I was finally able to be seen by the "genius" bar, they proceeded to tell me that I had to purchase an external drive from them. They did nothing on my laptop, didn't even touch it, before suggesting that I need to purchase their external drive. All they want to do is make you spend more money. This wasn't quite as packed as another Apple Store I popped into earlier that day, but service still was slower and trying to find someone to check me in wasn't the easiest thing. They didn't have someone standing there checking everyone in and I hunted an associate down. Once I was being helped, there was no sense of patience and get me out the door mentality with the device that I was picking up didn't really give me any comfort that this was the right place to get help or service. I didn't even give me the box for the phone I was getting replaced. I sort of wish there were multiple options for star ratings. Because ultimately my rating is toward Apple. However, the staff at this store were excellent. That said, the staff are not really empowered to solve problems for your equipment. Not anymore. That is not their fault. Apple does not seem to be concerned with what their updates do to their equipment and their warranties do not cover (especially after they've expired) the effects of their updates. The recent update seems to have bricked one of my Ipads. The staffer only plugged it into a laptop and tried to let the laptop reset the tablet. That's it. No diagnostics, no further attempt. Now this is simply an entry level diagnostic...after which I got, I'm sorry there is nothing I can do aside from replace it. Which mean I would have to buy another one. Why would I buy another one if your own update damaged it? I got a semi-scripted answer that the update resolves issues... There were no issues with the tablet. It's used by a 6 year old, it's clad in a massive rubber and plastic case, and all she does is sit and watch youtube kids with it, she doesn't even play games on it. The rest of the time it sits on a stand connected to a charger. Why would there be issues? After the update killed this tablet before completing installing itself. I turned off updates on the other tablets to prevent the same issue. The assumption from Apple is I did something to it. This is irritating. How is it possible to determine it's my fault when they didn't even do a proper diagnostic? It isn't. Therefore such a statement is utter bullshit. I will commend the young man who looked at my tablet, he at least listened and tried to help me. I asked him to speak to someone who would be in a position to escalate my repair because it was Apples update that caused the problem. And if they took it to a service center and ran diagnostics they would conclude that as well. He initially argued his hands were tied but after I gave him the analogy of when taking a car into a mechanic for required maintenance who is responsible for the car if the mechanic breaks it? At first he didn't agree and then understood and tried to get a manager to come out. Another issue we discovered is that the tablet was a year older than the date I received it because it was a free Ipad from Verizon as part of a buy one get one. No big deal but because it was 1 year older they argued my warranty was out of date...sort of cheeky if you ask me... The Apple staffer gave me an option after speaking to his management to bring my purchase receipt and they could then change the date and I would be able to get a replacement. More legwork and time for me to go back and forth. At least I have a potential solution. Sure. Good and done. Right? But again, this rating is not necessarily for this Apple store. It is more for apple as a whole. They are anti-right-to-repair and they create scenarios which now cause you to have to buy again. My Samsung devices (as an aside)...have never broken down. But I have 5 kids...they want Apple devices. Where I would rather not buy Apple devices. While the staff member eventually acquiesced, their mandate is to get a customer to pay for something else. Or buy into something else because the ecosystem keeps you buying within Apple's sphere or gadgets and services. In that regard, I no longer appreciate Apples experience. And I no longer appreciate the lower quality of their products and the level of planned obsolescence built into everything they sell. I think these are the last Apple products I will ever purchase and slowly get my kids to adopt other products in the long run. read more

This place takes on way more than it can handle. Was told phone would be ready in an hour. We decided to stay at the mall instead of run other errands since it was only an hour. Now I understand things come up and take longer than expected but not 3 hours when u said 1 hour. They ended up giving a new phone instead of fixing the old one since there was a hardware issue. Which is what should have been done as soon as I walked in instead of wasting a whole afternoon. Stop making so many variations of the same phone and you won't have 100 people standing around clueless as to what they want. Also parents you need to watch your terrible children! I will never return to the Apple store in Willowbrook, Wayne New Jersey. Arrived at 10:30 AM and was told to stand on line in the mall until 11 AM when they opened. When the store opened I was told I'd have to wait until 11:40 to get in because people made appointments, The genius who came out to the line asked "why are you here today?" I explained that I need a new battery for my iPhone, and she immediately went into sales mode to try to "upgrade" i.e. sell me a new phone. Since I had over a half hour before they would let me in the store, I walked around the mall and found an "ifixit" store with No wait! He installed my new battery for $10 less than Apple charges! Had such a positive experience at this location of Apple. I came in for a new iPhone and was in and out in thirty minutes. I'm always in a rush, so this was very much so appreciated. While the store appears crowded there are a ton of sales reps on deck. Totally wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped me - this five star review is mainly for him! He was extremely helpful and consultative and did not rush through our appointment at all. After helping me transfer everything over to my new phone he then took the time to walk me through how to use it. I had a bunch of (probably annoying questions) and he answered them all with a smile! In general, I'm learning that it makes more sense to get an iPhone directly from Apple instead of a service provider. For the same price Apple care is included. The sales rep told me that I literally didn't even need to buy a case - I could drop my phone and just come back in for a repair. It's nice to have that kind of reassurance when buying such an expensive item. No doubt the phone is pricey, but can you really put a price on something that you use day in and day out and for your job? Definitely not! read more

So I go to the Apple Store Tuesday night because the back of my phone is cracked. They check me in and tell me to come back to drop the phone off the next day because it's late now and it will be ready within an hour and a half tomorrow. All I would do is drop my phone off and go shopping. So I do just that, I come back and a wretched witch tell me it's too late this time and I have to come back the next day. That is absolutely ridiculous. I took off work early and I was waiting for 30 minutes before someone greeted me. And they tell me I'm too late. I got there at 530 and the mall closed at 8pm. Horrible customer service. Worst in the region. The customer-facing employee, so-called "Stephanie" (I doubt that it is her real name) but big fat woman with a lot of tattoos, refused to let me verify my email address she put in. This store is very hit or miss. Your service and sales experience will vary widely depending widely depending on whom is helping you that day. Store manager - please take note. My friend and I showed up yesterday because she had just returned back to the US and the touch screen on her iPhone6S was no longer working. She also had a strange flickering bar at the top. We weren't sure whether we should get a new phone or make a Genius Bar appointment to attempt to repair it. They advised to try to repair it first. We did so and were told to return in an hour. Upon receiving a text to turn to the store, the tech told us the phone was not under warranty. It would cost at least $325. We were given the option to buy another 6S or a 7. Considering that the same thing could happen again, we explained that we wanted to buy a 7. (This is key, BTW) The tech said, OK and pointed us to the "concierge" who would then connect us with someone in sales. We waited more than a half hour for someone in sales. Eventually, someone arrived and apologized for the wait. My friend explained her dilemma and he winced. Why? The store HAD NO iPhone 7s IN STOCK. Why did they make us wait? We had also made it clear that she needed it that day because she was leaving the country again the following day. The only reason why this store is not getting 1 star is because the sales associate was genuinely horrified by our experience, and worked assiduously to find us one in stock in a nearby location. Do yourself a favor and buy online. They put you on a waiting list for a sales person to speak to you. If you go rogue and ask the sales person on your own they will tell you to speak to the "receptionist" even if that sales person appears to be standing around not doing anything or assisting anyone. Guess who will come to help you 20 mins later, that same sales person. (The guy literally waited to be told to help me.) As others stated, the place is overcrowded during the weekends. However, the above situation happened to me on a weekday afternoon. So when is the best time, really?
