He questioned whether I had properly formatted my phone, despite my having done so, and then accused me of dropping my phone based on what he claimed was a "dent." It turned out to be nothing more than a piece of dirt that I wiped off with my finger. This was particularly frustrating given that it was my third visit to the Apple Store for the same unresolved issue, and at my previous appointment, I had been instructed to reset my entire device. When I explained that I felt I was being wrongly accused and that his approach was coming across that way, he chose to deny everything rather than acknowledge my concerns or offer an apology. The interaction continued to deteriorate when Joshua began contradicting himself regarding the battery consumption issues I was experiencing. When I pointed out the inconsistency in his explanations, he responded by saying he no longer wanted to help me and proceeded to leave me alone during my scheduled appointment. I understand that technical issues can be complicated, and I don't expect every problem to have an immediate solution. However, I do expect basic professionalism, respectful communication, and a willingness to help customers who are seeking assistance. Really disappointing experience. I came into the Apple Store specifically because I wanted help transferring and setting up my new iPhone. I'm not tech savvy, and if I wanted to figure everything out myself, I would have just picked up the phone and done it at home. The employee never explained that I had different transfer options or the differences between a direct phone-to-phone transfer and an iCloud restore. He chose the iCloud route, and I left with my phone still syncing data in the background, Messages repeatedly pausing its iCloud sync, and additional setup issues I then had to troubleshoot myself. What made it worse was that while helping me, he became noticeably distracted by another customer who arrived after I did, moved over to his table, and even started offering him fruit snacks while I was still trying to get my new phone sorted out. Apple needs to train employees to actually explain the setup options and make sure customers understand what's happening before taking their trade-in. That is literally why some of us take the time to go into the store for help. It's so beautiful, big and spacious with lots of areas to sit while you wait. The trees all around and reflection on the glass ceiling is amazing. It's a great place to learn, they even have classes! I highly recommend brushing up on your computer skills! I always have a great experience at any Apple Store I go into. I got a new iPhone a few weeks ago, a 17 to replace my 13. I put it off for a while, in part because I didn't understand the whole trade-in process, or whether I could get better value at the Apple Store or through Verizon. I took the easier path and went to the Apple Store, where I knew I could buy one (1) iPhone and have an employee walk me through everything. My husband was unimpressed by the trade-in value I received, but it was a few hundred bucks for a phone with a cracked screen, no questions asked. (I did spring for Apple Care this time around.) The trip went smoothly, and I did indeed get excellent assistance, from the first employee who noticed me loitering in his vicinity. He helped me choose my replacement and set up my trade-in, then got everything from my old phone onto my new one, so that I was more or less ready to go by the time the purchase was done. I did have to walk to the Verizon store to activate the phone number, but that was because I was missing some log-in information that I really should have had handy. I was able to figure things out at Verizon, then came back to the Apple Store to buy a couple accessories--a case and a magnetic wallet attachment, a major upgrade in my day-to-day lifestyle (I've spent the last few years leaving the house without an ID or credit card like 70% of the time). Service was great all the way through. My only complaint is that the Apple Store should really validate. I didn't enjoy paying for parking after spending all that money on a new phone. Even so, I'll probably keep using this Apple Store for any future Apple Store needs. read more

To be clear the 5 star review is for Eric S and Eric S only! Eric S. and Richard (an older Caucasian man, description due to not knowing last name; he was terrible) were the main staff I interacted with during my visit to the Apple Store on 1/1/26. I arrived right when they opened, so that I could have my phone repaired. Eric S. greeted me right away and checked me in. He handed my ticket to Richard and sent me to the back to wait for further assistance.Once Richard had my ticket, everything went downhill. He never spoke to me, just took my ticket and walked around the store, completely ignoring me. I sat there feeling uncomfortable, and had to ask another team member what was going on. I've honestly never experienced such bad service. When I came back to pick up my phone, Eric S. checked in with me. I told him about what happened, how I saw Richard walking around with my ticket and not assisting me. Eric went above and beyond to help me, even though he was heading to lunch and didn't have to stop. He really saved the experience. Huge thanks to Eric S. for being professional and kind. With it's glass doors, 70 foot ceiling and rows of live trees it looks like a combination of a human terrarium and a temple to the coexistence of nature and technology. Now, I'm am most definitely an Apple person: I'm not a zealot, but my MacBook and iPhone (and various other devices over the years) are essential tools to me. A few days ago, my MacBook had a problem with the screen. I have no idea what happened, but the entire screen was dead. So, I brought it to the Genius Bar. Now, I've brought devices to the Genius Bar before...my old Macbook gave up the ghost after four good years and I was able to buy a new MacBook and have all my data transferred in a day. Until this visit, I'd always visited the Apple Store closest to me: the one in Glendale Galleria. And I'd never been disappointed. However, here the repair took four days and even though my device was ready at 1pm today, I wasn't informed of it until after 6pm. And I had been looking at my phone hourly to see when I could grab it. So, while this place looks great, it's Genius Bar could use a little work. read more

I purchased my 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro directly from Apple in 2016. Rather than replace it, I recently spent about $300 through Apple to replace the battery because the computer still met my needs. Only days later, the tip of a headphone adapter became lodged in the headphone jack. Since the Mac thinks headphones are permanently connected, the internal speakers no longer work. I came to the Apple Store at The Grove expecting someone to evaluate whether the lodged piece could be removed. Instead, Jose took the computer upstairs, returned a few minutes later, and told me the only solution was a $598 logic-board replacement because the headphone jack is attached to it. When I questioned whether there were any other options, I felt the conversation became dismissive rather than informative. I then asked to speak with a manager. Edgardo identified himself as the person over the Genius Bar, but the answer remained the same. After leaving the store, I called Apple Support hoping to speak with someone who could discuss the technical side of the issue. Instead, I was told there was no one available with that level of technical knowledge, and the only option presented was the same $598 repair. What disappointed me most wasn't the price. It was the feeling that preserving a computer I had just paid Apple to repair wasn't really part of the conversation. If Apple's policy is simply, "We don't perform this type of repair on older Macs," I would have respected that answer. Probably waited 1 min to get seated then got helped by Julian and Jose within less than 5 minutes. I really appreciate Julian and Jose with all their knowledge and due diligence in helping me out. Whenever I run into companies that have a certain politic and hire to reflect that I am always worried that I might have to get into an ideological argument while at someone's work but I never have to worry about this because they can't ever do their jobs professionally let alone actually get the job done. They sat me alone at a table next to a bunch of charger cables and made me wait for over 20 minutes and even helped walk ins before my appointment. Then several of the employees after making me wait walked directly at my periphery from several directions while looking directly at me each became visibly upset when I didn't react. Then they had another employee who was "giving a presentation" walk several loops around the table I was sitting at glaring at me. This was after they made me wait 30 minutes and then told me it would be 3 minutes and then made me wait an additional 20. These people can never get their job done I don't have to argue or say anything else even about how they are always hyper obsessed with race. This time their behavior was so bad that other customers literally registered disgust while I politely ignored several apple employees doing everything to try and bully and harass me except their actual job. Like always with people like this they think other people are stupid and don't notice what they're doing and as always no apology and no attempt to make it right. They can't even get the job done so of course they can't admit when they behave badly I think they might be incapable of trying to fix any of the bad things they've done. Not one person who ascribes to the same political leanings of this company has once been able to get the job done let alone try to make things right when they falter. Take the drive to any other Apple Store or an affiliate store. The employees have enough of an old boys club attitude that if one of them decides they have no problem wasting your time and worse they try to bully people. They seem to think because their old boys club looks diverse from the outside (the kind of diversity you see when bigots are trying hard to prove they aren't bigots) that they can now behave like unprofessional bullies. This store wouldn't be capable of making things right so even if you call them out there will be no good of it. Avoid this place like the plague. Imagine how they'd treat your kids if one of the employees didn't like him or her. Came in yesterday because my phone hadn't been charging well, and they helped clean out some lint that had found its way into the ports. They were super helpful, and the location is absolutely gorgeous too. My only hang up was that I did wait about an hour to be seen for what turned out to be a super simple fix/issue. The employee herself told me that next time I should just ask for a "port cleaning" on my device and I'll be seen much faster. That being said, it was on the verge of being chaotic picking up my pre-ordered iPhone at the Grove Apple Store. I set up a pickup time online. I showed up a few minutes early. There was a well-organized line to check in, and a very kind and personable young lady orchestrated my getting my phone that I had ordered and escorted me to the area where they said they could help me set up my new phone. This is where it lags, literally. A gentleman started helping me set up my phone, but he kept getting interrupted by other employees asking him questions, so he'd help a little and then go away, and then help a little. It was super annoying. On top of that, I think they must have a DSL or an old-fashioned dial-up modem for wifi because it was ridiculously slow. Other people trying to set their phones up were also stuck in download limbo. I gave up and took my new phone home and set it up myself. I suggest you do the same if you get a phone there. The band is actually UNRAVELING on the right hand and is SHARP. I went to Santa Monica to get it fixed and they said they were going to replace it but I have to come pick it up. I told them I wanted to pick up at the Grove. Then I realized what a pain it would be to have to drive there, park, pay for parking (they don't validate) and told them I wasn't up for it because I was not feeling up to. Now that I feel better and am ready to fix this before my travels, they told me the repai order has been closed and I have to come in and ask for a replacement AGAIN! Phone screen: after waiting 5-10 minutes, they told us the phone would be ready in 3 hours. We could not wait for it or return to pick it up. He should have told us that at the beginning of the appointment. Watch: 15 minutes after my appointment time, I asked what was going on, they said I was 3rd in the queue. What? I went in on 8/22/2026 around 1pm to get an Apple Watch, and as I was looking at a watch on the display case a female presenting late 30's-40s with gray hair and a pixie cut comes up and says "I'll take that" and removes the watch from the case and walks away. I was left standing there wondering what happened. Perhaps she was going to get the watch for me to try on? I sat there for a few minutes feeling awkward and unsure of what just happened, and then I see this same person helping another couple. I asked them if they were going to bring the watch that they snatched out of my hands to look at, and they said "no, we remove watches that are not on the case properly" and then said "I can get someone to show you the watch". They didn't say any of this when they took the watch out of my hands as I was looking at it while it was on the display case. I told them it was okay and I'd be taking my money elsewhere. This employee left me feeling like I was doing something wrong, and was very rude when they snatched the watch out of my hands. I won't be returning to this store. read more

Hi. I went to the Apple Store at the Grove and the woman figured out what I needed and was gonna help me, but I needed to go back to the car and get my glasses first which I did. When I came back a couple minutes later, she said she would find the right person to help me and had me go sit at a table at the other end of the store where I waited and waited and waited and waited while Apple employees were walking around and talking to each other and finally after at least 1520 minutes or more I don't remember exactly how long I went back to her where she was talking to another employee and asked her what was going on. She said I was waiting for the right resources or something. I don't know. It sounded like double talk to me and then the guy she was talking to. She looked at and said oh maybe you can help him. I said never mind. I'll go to another Apple Store. Oh no, no no no he can help you well why wasn't he helping me before? Why did I have to come back and ask what was going on after all that time? Why was were they just standing there talking and then all of a sudden he was available while I had been sitting there waiting I said no thanks I'll go to another Apple Store. read more

I went to the store on the night of 12-31-25 because my iPhone was having startup issues. Orion was the person who was my "genius" throughout the time I was there. He was a nice guy but I could tell he defintely wasn't one of their best workers. Although I like authenticity, he was too authentic for a Apple employee. who amongst various responsibilities has a responsibility of selling products for apple and representing the company well. That comes from me, who is someone who has worked heavily in sales since he began working, and currently works in marketing. We had casual talk throughout the time he helped me. Quite a lot really, and although I didn't try to bait him into severely downplaying products Apple sells, I did ask him questions that gave him the opportunity to severely downplay apple products and that's exactly what he did at times. He had a hard time at various times commuincating what the strengthens of specific apple products such as casings and iPads after he woukd commuincate at the weaknesses of various apple products. Also when he went on his break he told me he would he'd be gone for fifthteen minutes and was actually gone for about forty. No one came to speak to me about the long wait and when I was speaking to another customer about the wait, another "genius" inserted himself into the conversation and said in a carefree tone that he'll check to see what the hold up is, he never did nor did he have someone else do it. When Orion finally came back he was talking to me about the food he just indulged in that his manager had provided for him and his coworkers. He did not mention the extra wait I had dealt with. Sucks to know while I was waiting after the 15 minute mark, that Orion was chilling and just eating. When we resumed working on my phone I had to ask him many technical questions because he wasn't being clear with me on how the remedie work he was doing on my phone could affect my phone, even if the remedie work made it operatable again. He was trying to be confusing so he could avoid accountability if the remedy work severely damaged my phone which based on would he said, was very likely going to damage my phone. He had said he had worked for Apple for 11 years too so his knowledge of Apple products and the remedies did not match the experience that someone who has been employed by Apple in the position for 11 years should have. We managed to get my phone to be operatable again and he told me that I needed to buy additional iCloud storage for my phone. So I proceeded to buy the storage. The phone starts being difficult again, when it comes to trying to make the purchase and I let Orion know that if we don't need to do the purchase then I'm fine with not doing it. He didn't say much in response to that so I clarified with him; if it was neccessary for me to buy the phone for it to operate and he said no, and that the purchase of the storage really is only being done so I can have spare storage since my phone didn't have much prior to the remedies being performed. So Orion had lied to me, because he told me beforehand that I had to have the additional storage and could only get it via buying a Apple gift card. It became too late to just not do the transaction because by the time he told me I didn't have to buy the gift card, it was bought and the money was loaded onto my iPhone. I asked him if we could just reverse the transaction so I could be refunded and he said he had to ask someone else because he wasn't sure. After he goes to ask, he comes back and tells me I'd have to speak to customer support about since the money is already loaded on my phone. Generally speaking my customer experience was good because the Inital Apple employee I spoke to upon walking in was very pleasent to talk to and very helpful and also because my phone was operatable when I left but Orion is what made the experience very sour. Of course I recommend if you go to the Apple Store at the grove instead of other nearby locations like the ones at Century City Mall & the Beverly Center that you clarify your "genius" isn't Orion. read more

Why is it impossible to get anything done/fixed on your first visit. All Apple Store are trash but this one seems particularly useless.
