I had an appointment at 7:30. I showed up at 7:20. I was greeted immediately with an smile and checked in. I was then escorted to the Genius Bar so they can take care of my phone. The Apple Genius came right over and began to ask me what issues I was having. She took control and diagnosed my phone. She then took action to repair my phone. Once the repairs were completed she installed the new iOS update on my iPhone 6. I was walking out of the store extremely pleased and on my way home at 7:45. The best service I have had at this Apple Store. read more

I absolutely detest coming into this store. There are always so many people, yet they don't have a really efficient means of being sure that people are not skipped. The staff is just okay, feels like mostly burned out retail folks. Service always late to keep appointments at least the last three times. This time I was early could not check in, had to come back and check in on time, then waited 20 minutes for them to even talk to me: After making an appointment two weeks earlier? Then they wanted to go through everything again another 15 minutes and my repair promised in an hour was then an hour and half. First apple store I went to that wasn't jammed... I went around 7pm and the place had a lot of people. I went in for some assistance with Keynote and was looking for a sleeve for my mac with retina disp. They had a couple of sleeves, but not the color preferred. They helped me with the Keynote, relatively quickly without a prior appt. Usually I have to wait a while or reserve a few days before. Seriously this place was packed. I had my doubts that we were going to be able to get service but I checked in and told him the problem with the iphone and he gave us an appt time in 20 minutes. You can also make an appt through their website too. We checked out a few stores in the meantime and came back at the appointed time. We ended up waiting beyond that and really I wish there were places to sit. They just tell you to go stand "over there" and you kind of wonder if they will forget about you. Luckily they did not and the woman that helped us was very competent and friendly able to diagnose the problem quickly. We were able to get it replaced free of charge which took only about 10 minutes. They saved the day for sure. This place is busy. You can pretty much show up at any time and the place is just swamped. I don't think this is specific to this particular store, it's just an Apple thing. I've purchased quite a few things here but have yet to use the genius bar. I've found that they're so busy that it's usually hard to just pay for your item and get out of there. When I head into a store I generally know what I want and just want to grab it, pay and go - so when I have to sit around with the item in my hand waiting to complete step two, I can get a little annoyed. read more

I had an incredibly passive-agree experience with a certain worker there named Eric. My buddy and I went into the store to get his broken camera lens replaced, and were told we'd be accompanied soon. We were then approached by Eric who seemed somewhat on edge, to say the least. His initial remarks set the stage for our future interaction as he put on a bland face, lacking of enthusiasm, as well as a monotone voice to match. He didn't seem enthralled with the fact that he had to deal with us, as the atmosphere of our entire conversation seemed to be rushed. In here a lot lately for service and repairs for a new mac laptop. Everytime Ive been misquoted horribly for the time it takes to make the repair. Management is half caring, sometimes willing to correct the issue and speed up the repair, but sometimes not. Parts are never in stock for repairs, always they have to order anything. Even for brand new devices. Been in a few times to buy peripherals. Normally I just grab what I need and grab a tech to check me out. Whenever I cant find something though, the staff half the time has no idea what Im talking about. So evidently the "hard to find" items no one can find. read more

My Ipad Air locked up on me about 10 days, i was trying to update it and it just froze up, i tried calling apples help line, we were on the phone for an hour before we finally realized i needed to bring my device into an apple store. I had a noon apointment today and the place was a madhouse full of customers but they got to me quick. I scheduled an appointment to have some item checked. I arrived on time and was told that I would be assisted in a few minutes. Sat in the area I was told to sit and waited for about 10-15 minutes without any help. People walked in and got help with tech support before I finally received any help. When the tech arrived everything went real smooth and quick. I just didn't see why make a schedule if you arrive and then you have to wait for help. I was literally robbed by Apple. I had a macbook that had stopped working. In February 2020 I brought it in with my parents. We were thinking of replacing it with a new computer, but we wanted to get it looked at first. The man at the genuis bar looked at our computer and recomended that we not buy a new computer, because our version was not sold anymore and was a really great model. He instead recomended we refurbish it. My parents agreed and we paid $1,200 to replace the keyboard, screen and battery that had water damage and we were told we had a warranty. I returned a few weeks later to pick it up. Everything looked good, it was working fine. Then I took it home and within 2 weeks it stopped working. COVID happened and the store was moved so it took us like 4 months to come back. I made an appointment and came in. The genius man assured us we still had a warranty, that they will keep it and call us when they know the problem. A few days a very rude lady called me to tell me there was no point fixing the computer because there was water damage all over the battery. I swear on everything, I never EVER spilled anything on it after it was fixed. I try to tell this women and she cuts me off saying sorry but because since it waswater damage our waranty won't work plus our warranty was expired after 3 months. I tried to tell her the man said we did have a warranty and she said nope he must of got the dates wrong. I said I wanted to come get my computer and she was suprised I still wanted it? I don't usually leave reviews but I have never felt so robbed in my life. Like just thinking about apple makes my stomach sink. I can't believe we paid $1,200 for nothing. read more

I found myself needing a usb to c adapter for my laptop and called the Apple store to see if it was in stock. I was connected to a sales rep to say it was in stock and I could head over and pick it up. I asked if it would be ready soon as I was in route. She said no problem and took down my information. When I arrived it was not ready and I was told I would have to wait for an email or I had to call customer service and cancel the order I had placed and buy one off the shelf or be double charged. I find this unacceptable. I do not have time to wait for an order to be processed when there are a multitude of sales people on hand who are incapable of filling and order I already purchased. I got to the store about 15 minutes before it opened and there was a line but employee were outside checking everyone in. I was there to get a new battery for my iPhone 6. Very shortly after I got inside the tech greeted me and got my information and gave me a time that my phone would be finished. Had trouble getting inside the store as I am a disabled veteran. Upon finally making it inside with help from an exiting customer, I flagged down an employee for help. She was short (in demeanor) had tattoos, and bright red hair. I believe her name was Danielle. She was absolutely the rudest customer service person I have ever dealt with in my life. She cut me off several times as I was trying to explain what I was looking for, and seemed generally distracted when she did let me speak. Finally upon making my purchase from a DIFFERENT person, I witnessed Danielle and another employee giggling as I struggled with exiting the Apple store. Like most Apple Stores this location can be very busy. I have visited the Apple Store at Southpoint on a Saturday and could get very little service. That said, I know it comes with the territory. Most of the time I plan to visit I will schedule an online appointment at the Genius Bar. If you want to just browse and see the latest Apple produce that are out this is the location I would suggest. There is a Barnes & Noble right next door and you have all the amenities of the Southpoint Mall. Hope over to Zinburger and grab a bite to eat. read more

This was the worst experience ever for my mother and me. I work during days so my mom who is 65 and doesn't speak much English went to the store to change the battery on hey iPhone. I told her to call me and put me on the phone with a representative if she doesn't understand something. She called me being very anxious that the customer service representative that was "helping" her would ignore her direct request to talk to me to explain the situation. He would just continue explaining the same thing over and over again and ignore my mom's requests to talk to me. He wouldn't even say something like "I can't talk to your son for such reasons", he would just continue repeating his words like a robot. Again my mom is 65 and she speaks very limited English. Eventually I told her to put the phone on the speaker and started talking directly to the guy, and only then he explained everything to me. My mom was extremely upset with this experience - she came home crying and being confused why people would treat her like this. She was shocked how rude people can be. Needless to say we will do our best to get rid of every apple product that we have at home - it's simply not worth it. When they want to sell you something they are extremely motivated, but when it comes to providing support for older products - they simply don't care. read more

First time I buy from this store, it will be the last. The store was not too busy, or it appeared to be almost empty compared to my observations from other times I have walked by it. I looked to find someone to take care of me, no one greeted me at the door. One employee, let us call him #1, told me I needed to wait for 20 mins. He took my name and description, told me to wait and someone would find me. I waited patiently and employee#2 asked how he could help. I ordered and paid for I-Phone XR . I asked employee #2, who was very friendly, if they would help me setup my phone with contacts and other basic items. He answered positively. I expected to walk out happy with my X-Mas present, a workable phone with at least my contacts synced. Employee#2 took me to #3, who handed me the phone box and asked me to open it. Employee#3 told me that employee#4 would help me set my phone. At this point I could not remember who was who... Employee #4 was in a hurry, did not listen to my clarifications on the ICloud ID and proceeded to force me to create a new ID. At this point I was getting a little impatient. Once the phone was configured with my Security ID he told me we are done. Then I asked, what about my contacts, answer: "you add them one by one in your contacts app". I told him this was not acceptable and he responded that he was busy and multitasking. Now I am furious. Manager #1, also said that he was busy, to please tell him the story quickly. So I told him, that I was also busy I did not have time to tell him the story. I stormed out of the store and Manager #2, at this point I have had contact with 6 people, he was apologetic. I thank him for his words, but at this point the experience had been so horrible I could not find joy inside me anywhere. I walk out of the store furious, with no joy, purchasing my x-mas was the worse experience I have had in a long time. My older model iPhone rapidly developed a battery problem - it would not hold the charge. I made a convenient appointment same day online, drove to the Apple Store at Southpoint, checked in, and was helped earlier than my scheduled time. The Apple employee identified the problem, explained it to me clearly, explained the options clearly, and told me how long it would take to repair (again, same day, about 30 minutes). Turned out the battery connections broke off when they tried to take out the battery, so they gave me a new phone, same model, at the cost of the battery, set up the phone, wiped my old phone, and I was all done in about an hour, most of which was the repair time. read more

The staff around iPhone table seems todiscriminate foreign customers, and kept saying my phone was from 3rd party enclosure so that it couldn't be traded in (which actually is not true and with no evidence). Because I've just come back from the Apple Campus at Silicon Valley with an appraised price and hope the new phone would cost a lower tax in NC. They even asked me to try another store, stating the policy at Southpoint just went what they said. Do you think I haven't seen you two whispering and tried to give me the same response?!?! I've pressed the home button several times and it doesn't respond. me: Wait a sec.... Yup, it was a fubar'd home button that kind of ruined my Xmas present ordered online via apple.com. No fear tho, this is where your local friendly Apple store saves the day with (still at the time we visited) red-shirted[1] employees, slick 27" Mac displays, Airbooks, iPads, walls of Apple accoutrements, and Genius Bar all to boot! Having come here several times already during the holiday season, I was secretly dreading the lines and the hordes of people here, much less the horror stories from previous Yelp reviews. In reality, on an early weekday afternoon even the week *after* Xmas, it was super manageable. No real crowds and no hassle tracking down anyone to help us out. It was weirdly surreal as we walked in - almost like a scene in Westworld[2]. I was half expecting Yul Brynner to sashay up the aisle from the Genius Bar...insert bad Spaghetti Western music.... Luckily, it was just a red-shirt guy and not some maniacal, malfunctioning robot hell-bent on killing us. He tried a few things (OS reset, etc). Within literally 2 minutes he said, "well, that's not a good sign" and he happily suggested to just exchange our malfunctioning one for another he had on the back shelf. 10 minutes later, we had a brand spanking new exchanged iPod, a Yelp check-in[3], and our receipt emailed to us. I do have to agree that on other days like weekends...it gets harried in here and you literally do feel like a salmon swimming upstream to that damn front of the store.[4] During the holidays, it feels a gazillion times worse...think swimming upstream in lake of Karo syrup. I do have to commend them for having a "kiddie" station area for older kids - it should come in handy when ours outgrows his Apple iPod touch "babysitter"[5]! ;-) Overall, a convenient location and good solid service for those times when you need to interact with a local person. I think apple products are great. They are well designed and innovative even if they may have tons of glitches. But the apple stores...omg, these people are jerks. I have never gone into an apple store and received any service of any kind. The place can be packed or totally empty, same result. Is this because I am a woman or because I don't look like a loser?
