Recently needed a new MacBook - I ordered it through Apple's app and selected this store for pick up. I was able to choose what I wanted, like color, size, storage, etc. and the date/time when I'd pick it up. Check in was smooth when I arrived, and I was even able to add on an Apple keyboard to my pick-up order. I was in and out quickly -- they had my new MacBook waiting for me in the back and grabbed the keyboard too. The place was busy, which is to be expected for an Apple store. Convenient location but it can get super busy, so bring some patience if you need to stop in. I went in for a charger and did not realize there was a separate line (or check-in for quick purchases). I wasted a lot of time waiting to be seen only to be told I needed to go check in with someone else. I went in on a July 15 2025 for a battery replacement with no one telling me in 3 weeks my phone would not have access to the apps I need due to its age. Then the "Customer Service" goob tells me that they discussed a replacement with me based on the replacement agreement...NO THEY DIDNT!!! Took $69+ of my money, refused to refund and now I have a phone I will need to replace because it doesn't do IOS17 updates. I've been an Apple customer sine the beginning and have never been so shoddily treated in my history with Apple. For $69+ dollars...bad bad customer service. Walked in regarding a bug in my phone. They scheduled to see me in 1 hour. After 30 minutes got a text to let someone know when I arrived. Checked in, was told to wait in the "bullpen". Still waiting and it's past my appointment time. Sure, I could have called, opted to be seen in person thinking it may end up being more productive. Not so sure. We purchased an iPhone, but were given the receipt of another persons purchase. Called and called to get a receipt emailed since we live far away. AI answering system asks what the call is about, then tells you all employees are assisting others but to hold and someone will assist. followed by a beep, annnnd disconnection. How great is that? 15 calls later, and even apple itself couldn't get through! What a huge hassle for something that could be handled so easily. read more

Shopping under the current coronavirus restrictions is not easy; one has to make an appointment in advance to even walk in the store, and many were turned away while I waited. The overly structured and slightly creepy vibe of an Apple store is only increased by having to be in masks, but if you're going to spend money on something new it seems to me a worthwhile exercise to go and see in in person first, and in 2020, masking is life. But having made it in, I was able to experiment with what I wanted, and ultimately buy a snazzy looking and probably useful device. read more

My daughter wanted it to be fixed so she'll have her information back. Next day we took the phone back to the store for a repair. But they changed their words. They said that they can't repair it, so they gave me a replacement iPhone 12. But the replacement iPhone 12 doesn't work properly. It has an awful background sound when I made phone calls. I've taken a class here at this particular location. It was a late evening class so it was a bit quieter. I highly recommend signing up for the classes. It's usually straightforward but you can learn a few tricks along the way. I enjoyed how interactive it was with just a few people surrounding a table and an instructor. I've also stopped in to purchase an item or two. I prefer ordering online and doing a pick up. This helps with not having to wait for someone to help me. All I have to do is -- check in and someone brings it to me. DONE! This is the only Apple store within this particular area so expect a wait and a full house, especially when the store opens on the weekends. Good luck! read more

This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We waited for an hour just to get helped by someone, only to be told we were put on the "incorrect list" and assured we would be helped next. Another half an hour goes by and we're STILL waiting to get helped by this guy, meanwhile he's walking around helping other people instead who JUST walked in. All we wanted to do was buy an iPhone and a case. We ended up walking out without anything TWO HOURS later. I understand that it may take more time to get to people when the store is busy, but we were still not getting helped at all long enough for a new wave of people to come in. Maybe growing up near Apple's HQ in CA gave me a false sense of the quality of Apple's customer service. Even the Advisors on Apple's call-in team were shocked at how terrible this place was. Multiple people, including an employee at the store, described their service as "unacceptable." I wish there was another hardware company that competed, I'd absolutely switch brands. I took my MacBook Pro to the Apple store for the second time this month because of charging issues. My second visit in particular has been stellar. Mario was really compassionate and super helpful in helping me get scheduled for a same day Genius appointment. My Genius Bar/Mac Technician Constantine was extremely polite, resourceful, and was able to answer all my questions about chargers, Apple care, and my previous repair. I left the store with a fixed computer and more knowledge than what I came in with! read more

The customer service at this store is extremely bad. Buying an iPhone is a very painful process at this store. They made us wait for almost an hour when there were clearly employees just standing around doing nothing and there were barely any customers at the store. I had to over ask a couple of times to employees for one of them to come over to help us with the iPhone. The actual purchase of the phone was an another painful process. They said the phone I wanted was in stock and we start the purchase process, at the final payment step , the sales rep tells me that they can only the ship the phone out, I cannot just pick up the phone. I asked to speak with a manager, manager comes out speak to the rep, tells me that they can only ship the phone and walked away, no explanation. I am aware that Apple is known for its products and not service but this is a new low. read more

I drove 3.5 hours from Wilmington to make my appointment, on the way I ran into multiple accidents and arrived 15 minutes late. Waited in their line to check in for another 10 minutes and when I finally got to check in I was told I was too late and my appointment was canceled. The only option they offered was to come back tomorrow or wait in the general que. Being 1 of 2 apple stores in a 100 mile radius they need to consider leniency with their appointment times as you can leave with a 1 hour buffer and still encounter unforeseen complications. The incompetence at this store is beyond anything I have ever seen. Ordered a MacBook Pro on March 06, it was delivered to the store on June 02. I went to pick it up and they could not locate it. How is it possible ? Did it fall off the back of the FedEx truck, or maybe it just walked out of the store by itself ! Apple ended up ordering a replacement that supposedly will be delivered by August, another three months, for a total of 6 months wait time ? No apologies or explanation offered. I don't care what anyone says. Apple is THE BEST ever. I stand by their products but most of all their customer service is unparalleled and NEVER disappoints. I had a Genius Bar (tech support) appointment two days ago. I fooled around and left my charger after the appointment. Since the appointment was to repair a bad battery, I definitely needed the charger. Because I was traveling so much I didn't realize I didn't have the charger until a full day passed. By sheer luck, the day I went back was iPhone X release day!! ‍‍ I walked up to the front door (feeling guilty for coming with the bs at such an inopportune time). I wasn't met with derision and no one questioned me for ulterior motives (like trying to skip the line at 11am on release day). Instead, I was welcomed inside and the employees patiently attended to my concern. Not only was my charger unearthed, when they realized the wall plug connection was missing they automatically gave it a new one. When it came out I realized it didn't have the long cord that was originally attached. When I shared that with the gentleman and asked if I could buy one since I work abroad and often have to stretch the cord long distances. He said, "One second, I'll be back!" and returned with a beautiful new cord just for me. What more could one ask for. I could go on and on about all the times Apple has saved my natural behind in cities all across this great nation (Seattle, Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Richmond, etc.) but I'll spare you and tell you instead that if you're questioning your decision to spend (what is truly a lot of money) know that the purchase of any Apple product is a worthwhile investment that is valued by this great company and they will take care of you anytime, any place. I pledged my allegiance to Apple more than 10 years ago and I've never looked back. In fact I get pissed that the rest of the world hasn't caught up and realized PCs and Androids are not user friendly and cause headaches. One day they'll realize. Just moved here from LA and as nice as most people are here in the Triangle, the pompousness and ignorance on display with some of the staff of this store is baffling. I am still shaking after I got out off the store. It was SO BAD. we came here because my phone started to have green screen and then stop working last night, we tried talked to the online apple customer service team, but since it is too late, after trying everything they told us, I decided to come to the store to check. we had no problem with the people who make the appointment for us, but when the staff came, we told him the store and really trying to see what will be the solution they can provide, the only thing he mentioned is they see the fog on the camera and immediately told us, it has water damage, they can't fix or swape it due to that reason. We told them there is no reason to get those water damage and the phone stop working due to the green screen. And he grabbed another staff in the back (he claim his name is Craig C. and he refuse to provide his last name), and then the drama started. He keep telling us there is water damage, they can't do anything, and we can either pay for a new phone or we can leave the store. There is no customer service what so ever, they didn't even try to provide us a solution or give any guidance. At one point he even aggressively mentioned "we are done here, nothing to discusss further, you are free to leave." I was shocked by how unprofessional that is. Unbelivable. I never leave reviews, but I really hope someone in the Apple will see this and reevaluate what value matters to you. If it is not your product, as least training your staff properly so they don't damage your branding overnight. read more

Mixed experience. I've been here a lot over the years, and always find the store crowded, loud, and bad-smelling. But sometimes you just have to go, you know? The following is a detailed account of my experience yesterday in the Apple Store at Southpoint. I had really good customer service from the two reps I met with yesterday. The first one was super excited about the brand and new product offerings. She helped me figure out which iPad to get, including pointing out why she likes the black border more than the white. She showed me her favorite case, and even pointed out search terms I should include if I were to search for a better price online. She also mentioned how I could bring back my current iPad and get a large chunk of money back- her instructions were so detailed and accurate that doing this a few hours later was a breeze! The rep who helped me with this trade-in a few hours later was awesome as well- a seamless transaction that put a chunk of change back on my credit card. They even helped me recycle my 10-year-old MacBook that had been serving a very important function of paperweight in my house. The reason I saw mixed is because while I was being helped by the young man in the afternoon, he was interrupted quite a few times. Not with urgent questions, either. One fellow employee came over and excitedly asked him how the wireless charging for the new iPhone worked. Not even a glance in my direction as my rep was busy entering the serial number of my iPad. Then another employee came over and started quizzing him about how comfortable his shoes were- this is as my rep was entering in my driver's license number. You can imagine that this made me a bit nervous- I really didn't want him to make a mistake that would affect my cash trade-in. Maybe this is some sort of Apple Store training- try to distract the employee who is actually doing his job by asking him ridiculous questions! I was shocked by the unprofessionalism of these people. I almost spoke up and said "Can't you see he's busy helping me?" but I didn't. Everything worked out from my perspective, but is it any wonder that I much prefer the online shopping experience? If you go to this store and want to brave the smell, I'd suggest not following my example- speak up and ask the unprofessional reps to give you some space if you feel your rep might be getting distracted. I know I will if I ever return. Maybe some training on how to behave professionally from the customer's perspective is what they need. read more

I had an appointment and was the only guest not allowed in line. I was told to stand away from the line and they would tell me when I could enter. Purchased a new phone in April, signed a contract to receive $700 in credits from AT&T. Was not able to turn the old phone in at the time as I had to have IT at my job verify all data was erased. Was told, it was no problem, just bring it back within 2 weeks. Returned in less than 2 weeks with the phone as I was instructed and signed that I returned the phone. Three months later, still no credits from AT&T. Come to find out, Apple should NOT have instructed Me to bring the phone back, it should have been returned to AT&T. Now I'm screwed out of $700 that I signed a contract for, AT&T won't help as it wasn't their error, and the so called management at the Apple store doesn't even care that their employee gave Me the wrong information and screwed Me out of my credits. I was told to contact Apple support to see if they could do something. REALLY??? I did what I was told to do, was given erroneous information costing me hundreds of dollars and the best I get from The lack of Management at Apple is "oops"??? I'm sure if this had occurred to one of their family members, they would actually care enough to fix their error. Only positive note to this BS is that Chris DOES care and went above and beyond to try and get someone to help Me. He even went so far to deliver the news that his Management team wasn't going to do anything to rectify the situation. He is a true Professional. read more

I ordered and paid for an Apple watch with a custom band and set up an appointment for 5pm. I stood in 55 minutes waiting just to pick up a prepaid watch. Whats worse is they didn't even put the watch together. They just threw the watch and band into a bag and handed it to me. In contrast I have ordered and prepaid several items from Best Buy then just walked in and picked it in 5 minutes. Do yourself a favor and buy your Apple products from Best Buy or Amazon. A like-new condition iPhone 7 needed a battery replacement. Apple confirmed they like-new condition before I left it for repair. After waiting one hour, the sales associate said the screw was stripped and they could not replace the battery. Instead, they offered to replace my phone for $300+. I declined the offer and now have a phone with stripped screw that does not seat flush with the phone exterior. In short, Apple damaged a like new phone in an attempt to extort a phone sale. read more

Today, I brought in my iPhone 7 for a battery replacement because the battery was sluggish, but otherwise, the phone was working just fine. While my appointment was at 1:30pm, they didn't actually have me to a rep for another 45 minutes. At that time, they took my phone and told me it would be 90-120 minutes until I got it back with the replacement battery. At this time, they did NOT tell me that the phone might be returned in worse condition than it was provided. There was no reason to think my phone had water damage (and that is noted on the report). I returned 2 hours later, and I was told that my phone had had water damage. I couldn't know this, and the phone itself had never been submerged. At worst, I used it in the gym and sweat near the phone. Water resistant, I am told, but there was nothing that suggested it had been compromised so why would I anticipate what happened next? When I was told this, I was essentially told I was expected to pay 350 for the replacement device. Now, I have insurance on the phone to cover things like that - and the insurance replacement was less (150-200). Also, the phone was working fine, so I opted to take my phone home and assumed I could just deal with the sluggish battery until I upgraded in the coming months... But no. I got to my car to find out that the home button didn't work. (Since then, also the screen doesn't work.) I went back inside and made it clear they needed to put my phone back the way it was provided. The only thing I asked was a battery replacement. With the phone being compromised (which I also now doubt because the incompetency of the staff was just extraordinary), the floor rep now told me that they weren't responsible for the fact that the phone no longer works. So, if I understand it correctly, if I bring a phone in to get a battery replaced and the phone has an issue due to something I could not have known. Then, they can't make the repair, which I can deal with. But if I don't want the proposed solution, I get a phone that's destroyed so I am forced to buy another? By this time, I have already had to move several phone meetings and one new client call, and I am irate. They take the phone in the back and get the accessibility home button on my phone (and as I said, now the screen itself is no longer responsive) and they floor manager basically says I am making the cheap choice because I want to use my insurance because they literally broke my phone and wouldn't repair it and I didn't want to pay the Apple premium when I was already paying for insurance from my cell carrier. I have the replacement phone coming tomorrow, but I cannot express how angry and disappointed I am in this store, its staff, and I am considering what other avenues I have available to draw attention to this. The only reference made to the fact that I might get a more broken phone back was in an email that was sent after surrendering my phone (when I don't have a phone to check the message!?!)... Just disgusting. And it really felt like I was being railroaded into a purchase I did not want to make. I am a creative professional, and I have a lot of Mac products in my mix. However, this not only poisons the idea of superior customer service, it suggests a far more nefarious strategy in handling and standing by their products.
