Wait 15 minutes and still no help so we decide to go to a different location just for the manager to try and help us on our way out. I was trying to do an upgrade on-line and decided I wanted to go with a different phone after doing all of the paperwork on-line. ATT customer service said my only option would be to take the phone when it came and take it to my local store to return. Well that was the. Best experience ever! Our experience was very lacked to say the least. When we walked in we weren't greeted, the staff looked around at each other before we were serviced. We also witnessed them not greet anyone that came into the store. We moved forward with upgrading our phones but the internet in the store was sooooo slow that we had to finish at home. What really irked us the most is that we were told that due to us having a business account our upgrade fee would be waved (the staff member confirmed that with the manager in the store, in front of us!) but it ended up on our bill. After calling a few times to get this removed, I was told today that the request was denied! Let's just say if you can avoid this location, please do! read more

Generally, I don't like to write 1 or 2-star reviews. They can really hurt a business or a reputation. However, what happened to me, needs to told. I purchased a new iPhone-7 at this location. The manager, RYAN, helped me select this phone. As soon as I took it home, people were telling me I sounded distant and garbled. I went back a few days later and told Ryan of this issue. He told me; "It's probably just a sim card issue." Later on, Apple iChat, they ran thru several tests to determine the cause of poor audio quality. (finally isolated the issue). So without doing a SINGLE mic test, I was given a new sim card and sent on my way. Right. The problem remained. I only had 3 more days under the 14-return policy, I came back to see Ryan. Here is where it gets interesting . . . He agreed that it was defective and told me to go to the Apple Store at Southpoint to exchange it. (This made no sense to me.) Further he explained; "They don't like to return them, but if you go to the Genius Bar, you can exchange for a new one. *NOT quite true. He went on ; "Younger staff don't know this, so just be persistent and show them the return policy on back of receipt. ** He adamantly showed me where it was on my receipt. So, being the good soldier I am - drove over to the Apple Store. Sure enough, the young man who took my issue, listened and looked at the receipt. He said: "I am not sure we can do this return/exchage.?!" Ah Ha! Ryan was right. I'm being 'dissed!". They don't want to help me out! Finally, I asked to speak with the store manager - Tim, Great guy !! He told me yes, they could exchange it for a used iPhone 7, but it would only come with a 90-days manufacturers warranty, not a YEAR. I asked him why they would send me over here to exchange or return a defective phone. I won't tell you all he said, but he ended with: "If you purchased a defective lawnmower at WalMart, would you go to Target to return it?" Good Point. Drove back to AT&T store. I was quite upset. Ryan would not see me. I was told he was in back eating his lunch ..( he didn't even have the courtesy to come out and speak with me to try and make things right.) I was finally able to exchange it for a new phone . . . which they had ALL ALONG !! And to top that all off, Ryan charged me $45.00 for a restocking fee, which I will dispute with AmEx. ** Their policy states defective phones are excluded from restocking fees. I can deal with a lot of things but being lied to isn't one of them. The store employees here, are the BEST ! Very helpful and courteous. I will give this store 5-stars, but for their new manager, ZERO! ** Post Note; AmEx did refund the $45.00 restocking fee. read more

Came in to explore options for my husband's iPad, ended up trading it in for a good deal and getting him a 3G one in our family plan! Walked in, quickly greeted by our sales associate Robbie; super friendly, super helpful, really funny and personable. After we told him what we were kind looking for and asking for advice, he promptly pulled up our account information and listed out several feasible options, with us picking the one I mentioned up top. He did everything for us, from finding us a military discount, to loving all the iPad info from the old one to the new one. It DID take a bit of time to do the transfer as set-up, and for coming in to explore our options, we were there a lot longer than our anticipated 15-20 minutes. Granted, it worked out and we knocked it all out, so can't really complain. Nothing I can think of to knock down any stars. Robbie absolutely made out AT&T experience a breeze (and fun)! read more

Service was terrible. All of the advertised offers were not available to AT&T customers. They made zero effort help paying customers. They treated me and my wife like they already tricked us into becoming customers and even though we showed them better plans and deals at Verizon, they did nothing to retain us as customers. I'd recommend bypassing this AT&T store at all costs. Stopped into the store to replace an AT&T brand iPhone charging cable that broke after 2 months of use. I had the original receipt, of course, but they acted like it was an imposition to them. It took forever to make an exchange. This Jessica person took off to the back with the broken charger for about 10 minutes. She didn't really give an explanation just that she'd be right back. Finally, I asked another employee to find her but she said she wasn't allowed back there. Well, that seemed odd. When Jessica finally returned she brought some man with her who for some reason got involved so that he could say that they could only exchange it not give me my money back. First of all, I never asked for my money back. In fact, I said I may buy some other accessories when I first spoke to Jessica. Second, I had a receipt for the purchase & I stated that if I wanted my money back I would get it. He of course wanted to argue about it but I dismissed him & his attitude because he clearly doesn't know that whether he gave me my money back was irrelevant. All I have to do is contact my credit card to tell them the store refused to refund my money for a faulty product that surely has a 1 year warranty. Further, neither Jessica or this other female employee working tonight were knowledgeable about the accessories they sell because I was told "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" a lot. There seemed to be very little interest in selling me accessories actually. The unnamed employee also felt the need to argue with me & give me an attitude. She even said she didn't care. It's amazing to me that during this time of COVID when people have lost their jobs that people like this arrogant, snarky & unprofessional person is allowed to have a job. It never ceases to amaze me how stores like this can stay in business when a customer is treated with disrespect with not one but 3 employees. Traded an 8 iPhone for a 12. A few days later I get water on the case and go in to this AT&T location. The same woman who sold me the phone and the manager gave me a paper about the insurance I bought and that was it. This was after they told me I had to wait 30 days to use the insurance, which I later found is not true. I told them, "So, basically you're giving me a piece of paper and not going to help me." The manager said, "There's nothing for me to help you with." My phone wouldn't work so I couldn't call the insurance place. I ended up having to go home and call with my iPad. The new phones are supposed to be water resistant, but the at&t stores seem to know nothing about this. There is a huge disconnect between the Apple product warranties and the stores that sell them, such as AT&T. The stores seem determined not to help with replacement. I have been an AT&T customer for over 12 years but will probably change companies. read more

I've been maintaining a phone for a friend. She's elderly and just wants a simple flip phone so I had one on my Verizon account for her. The phone failed recently and I replaced it with an ATT GoPhone which I ordered online. I also requested the number transfer from the old phone and provided my Verizon account info. The phone arrived with a SIM card already installed. Since the online order process claimed to have transferred the number and since the SIM was pre-installed, I expected the phone to be ready for adding prepaid minutes. It wasn't. I called ATT and the person I worked with on the phone said there was a problem with the SIM card and told me to take it to an ATT store and they would install a new SIM at no cost. I made an appointment and went to the ATT store and saying I was helped would just be incorrect. The lady who worked in the store directly with customers asked me rudely if I followed the instruction. I tried to explain what I had done to that point and she rudely interrupted me and told me, "Look, I'll activate this for you for $10 or you can just do it yourself by calling the number in the instructions". I explained I had done that and the person I spoke with instructed me to come into the store because they had a problem activation the SIM, She wouldn't hear it and just became more hostile. I had no choice but to call the number again and luckily the person I spoke with knew what was wrong and got the phone activated and added the initial funding from a refill card I had already purchased. I have 2 smartphones with data voice and txt which I had been considering moving to ATT because of better coverage in one specific area in Durham. As a result of this one interaction with the woman at the ATT store, I have ruled out ATT as a wireless provider for anything beyond this GoPhone account for my friend. I went in to check on prices for switching from another carrier. They were super busy but the manager kept updating me on the wait time. Once I was able to speak with a consultant, they were very knowledgeable and got me the plan and phone I wanted. My monthly bill is actually less than what they quoted me. The only reason that I'm not giving 5 stars is because I believe that ALL cell phone plans are overpriced. read more
