These hard working folks deserve an updated review. I live in the valley & because of early appointments in town have stayed here twice in the last year. It's a modest motel with a pool & a jacuzzi. The rooms are clean, microwave & frig with separate freezer & small coffee pot. Plenty of brochures about the area & is in a great location. Within walking distance of restaurants. The staff is always pleasant & aim to please. Not sure what more one would expect at the reasonable cost for a room. read more

Nice remodel, clean, loved knotty pine, but AC was not strong enough to reach the second bedroom and could not sleep coupled with a refrigerator that was malfunctioning and made a loud ticking sound all night. Staff gave us towels to mop up refrigerator and a fan for the 2nd night. Manager claimed there was nothing wrong with frig - he should try and sleep with it. Unsatisfactory. Would not mind staying again if they fixed the cooling problem and the noise from obviously faulty equipment. Management attitude adjustment would be needed. Staff was great. The room was great, all the amenities were amazing even customer service when we got locked out of the room after hours he got up and helped us. The only thing me and my friends had an issue with was an older looking dude smoking a cigarette and drinking maybe beer across the pool. We didn't mind him smoking or drinking but he was STARING HARD at my friends ass. We even started back at him and said hi to let him know we saw him and he kept going the whole time we were at the pool EVERY. SINGLE. TIME he has no shame. Beautifully maintained small town motel. The location is PERFECT. The room looked comfortable and spacious upon arrival. The bathroom has plenty of towels. We could tell the room was prepared with attention to detail and pride. It has a beautiful little pool with a hot tub, again you can see the love the property manager has in maintaining this lil gem. Found this gem traveling from Oregon to Canada! We checked in around 6pm and the father at the front desk was so sweet and generous. Felt totally safe and the room was very clean and put together. As a budget traveler, I would 100% recommend this place to someone looking for a cheaper, low key motel. Don't expect anything fancy for $80/ night, but this place was a great stay. read more

Rating 0! This was the Worst motel I have ever stayed in! No other hotels or motels avail otherwise we wold have left, but we trudged through 1 night. I got 0 sleep. Was up looking for bugs. Initially when I got there seemed ok. Turned on a light and then saw something run on the table. Smacked it. Took s pic. Looks like a roach. Found another on the ceiling in bathroom and it ran into the light; amongst others. This along with black mold on the ceiling a lot! See pics as well as the sink and bath tubs did not drain. We stayed at Apple Inn, room #19, on a Monday night and paid $120 after taxes. I understand it's the start of the summer season, but it was way overpriced for what we got. The room hasn't been updated since smoking was allowed and it REEKED. It didn't feel clean at all. The bathtub was poorly patched up and water continued to come out forcefully from the faucet even when the shower was running. I had a raging headache in the morning due to the smell. Until they renovate all of their rooms, I'd avoid staying here if at all possible. read more

The room was not nearly as nice as the pictures indicated but it was clean. The amenities very basic and the towels older and thin. My stay was adequate at best. The room I was given was not ready when I checked in so we had to wait outside until it was ready. After arriving home I received an additional bill. When I questions the extra charge I was told that they found makeup on two of the facecloths! Totally ridiculous! They were used for the intended purpose and it was just regular make-up. I have traveled all around the world for over 40 years and have never once been charged for anything like this. I did not receive any notice and they just charged me without my knowledge or authorization - terrible customer service! Ran out of daylight to make it to our camping destination so booked a room last minute here. Front desk was welcoming and extra helpful with an expedia.com booking gone wrong. BED BUGS - DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL, ROOM #44. A friend and I stayed at Apple Inn Motel July 25-30, 2021. My friend requested a few more pillows on the 3rd day and by morning she was covered with what we thought was BED BUG bites. When we arrived home she went to the doctor and learned that she had been bitten by bed bugs. Now we both need to deal with washing all our clothes in hot water/dryer, leave our other belongings in our garages for days, etc. Evidently bed bugs can live for months, so we could be dealing with this problem for a long time. When we called the motel to tell them what the doctor had diagnosed the bites as, they said they have never had this problem. No apology, refund, or that they were going to deal with it. I just looked back into previous comments on Yelp and they have had this problem before. DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

We stayed there for four night. Comfortable and quite. Reasonably priced for a place to sleep. Pool was clean and refreshing. The staff is very friendly. They provide a shuttle to the Lady of the Lake dock. If I had to say anything negative it would be the window blinds don't darken the room very well and the coffee they have in the room is tasteless - we had to drive round and find and place to get a good cup of coffee each morning. read more

Stayed overnight Tues, Oct 11. This is a great post-war motel. $53 plus $5 tax for an off-season room with queen bed. The room was very comfortable, well decorated, warm in both ways. I was very chilled by the time I checked in so I cranked up the forced air AC/heater, had the room up to 78 degrees in about five minutes. Had everything I needed: excellent flat-screen TV (32"?) with about 90 channels and a DVD player, fridge/micro/small coffee pot, iron and ironing board. Everything was immaculate. Motel is about six blocks from "downtown" and the beach, a short walk west to the Apple Cafe (umm umm good!). For being an excellent representative of "Ma and Pa: motels I give it five stars. read more

It was a week night during the off-season so we got a 2 queen bed for $56. It was a great deal and the hotel is very clean. Here are things that stood out: You have to remove the hot tub cover and put it back on after use. An elderly person couldn't do this, nether could a small adult. We couldn't find a button to the hot tub so the Jets do not push that much water. Great view. Pool was closed. The room was updated with a flat screen, new carpet and some other new items mixed with old. Overall it was nice, smelled good. One thing I did not like was the lack of curtains. The shades did not keep out light. The beds were very soft, not the best, not the worse. The bathroom door didn't lock. The toilet was low to the ground. Had a mini fridge and coffee maker. Bring your own coffee grounds. The ones they gave you. ...bleeeaach. everyone complains about the pillow situation, but if you call the front desk they can get you more. It is a little funny that there is a cat on the office and no pets are allowed in the rooms. They need to install something on the entry doors to prevent them from slamming. Hearing it over and over again was a bit annoying. All in all way worth it for what we paid. If we paid the seasonal rate we would have expected a bit more. read more

The only biff I have with this place is the Keurig coffee maker not coming with stronger [more expensive, perhaps?] coffee pods [the Chai latte is to die for, though]. Perhaps I would make the bed covers less flowery and riotous too. Other than that, and for 71 dollars a night [tax included], you can't do better than this. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the hot-tub does really address the aching joints. Netflix wasn't connecting, however often we tried to, and our channel choices were either real-life crime shows or soap-opera. But then again, you don't go to Lake Chelan to watch TV [do you?]. You go there to savor the view and sample the wine. read more

I checked in mid Feb 2019, the room they gave me had leaking shower and window heater with broken thermostat. I got another room, this one had dead phone, ran out of hot water in the morning and weak/non existent Wi-Fi. This place needs a lot of maintenance. read more

Apple Inn has definitely improved since the last reviews. The rooms have been renovated (we last came here in 2013 and remember the old bedspreads, etc). The hotel rooms are simple, but clean and neat. Pool and hot tub are great. Also, the staff were very kind and helpful. I came into town on a motorcycle and was anxious to ditch my gear. They wound up letting me check in early because my room happened to be ready. My friends and I were a bit slow getting going on our last day - and again, didn't want to be stuck w/ my motorcycle gear at breakfast - and they let us check out 30 min late. This is pretty much the only place I will stay in Chelan, because it's reasonably priced and you don't have to book it a gazillion years in advance. read more

Amazing water pressure in the shower (great for us long-haired gals to rinse out the chlorine after a day in the pool) - yes, they have a small pool and hot tub. By far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, the service was absolutely horrible and all the staff members were rude and disrespectful for no reason. I would rather sleep in the trunk of my car than this place. The room and bed smelled disgusting so my only option was to buy sleeping bags and blankets to set on top on the bed. They tried pulling "only 2 people for a room with 2 beds" just because it was Memorial Day weekend and they didn't want extra people there, but wanted the same amount of money even though it said "4 people" on the receipt. This was honestly the worst motel I have ever stayed at. All of the staff was incredibly rude and bitchy. If you are planning on staying during Memorial Day Weekend beware that they will change all of their policies without telling you and no where is it posted on their website. They turned away paying customers (that had payed months ago) saying that they only allow one person per queen bed no matter how many people your paid receipt said you had. They also have "security" at the front of the motel that will check your car and your arms for a wristband they make you wear the entire weekend and will be fined for if lost. I would never recommend this hotel to a friend and will never be staying here again. Also if you stain the towels they charge them to your room. I have never been treated worse by such a hole in the wall motel. read more

This place gets half a star for super friendly staff (and cat), and another half star for proximity to downtown, cleanliness (well, as clean as they can get it, considering), hot shower, and flushing toilet. The rest would get negative stars from me, if it were an option. My husband and I had the misfortune of staying here for two nights in mid-September because pretty much everywhere else was sold out. Let's begin: this place is old and dated with much deferred maintenance throughout. The wood paneling on the ceiling with exposed beams was a modern-romantic touch, but the orangey fence-top planks on the upper two feet of walls all around was a definite 70's overkill. Linoleum was peeling on the bathroom floors in our unit, shower constantly dripped and had a good deal of calcium buildup to impair water flow, shower drain cover was cracked and falling into the drain, and the caulk between floor and wall tiles was dried out and crumbling. The entry door is hollow and provides zero noise dampening from the outside parking lot and busy road. We could hear cars zipping by and people talking and arguing in the parking lot all night long, both nights. The office closed at 11pm sharp, so there was no one to complain to about it. And then the bed... WORST.BED.EVER Where there are firm and extra firm mattresses, this one was ultra rock hard on one side of the full size mattress (clearly never slept on due to being on the window side and away from the night stand), and had only marginal give on the other side. The literal pain of sharing this mattress with another person and waking up on top of each other because it was physically impossible to sleep on the ultra rock hard side is unimaginable, unless you've experienced it on your own back. I don't understand all the positive reviews of this place. You couldn't pay us enough to ever stay here again. We would rather sleep in the car or on the ground and shower at the nearby state park than ever stay here in the future. The pain is just not worth it. read more

We rented a king mini suite and it far exceeded our expectations. Impeccably clean and nicely appointed. The bed wasn't the best, but adequate. We bring our own pillows so no prob with that. We stayed here for two nights at 100.00 per night, not bad. The beds were ok, and you did only have a pillow for each person and luckily I brought an extra pillow. Didn't bother to ask for more. The front desk clerk was nice. Asked how many people were staying and our car's license plate. Thought it was odd till we came back for the night and saw how many cars were there. The room was clean and the bathroom was too. All in all we got what we paid for. Can't complain. Thought I should put a good review on here because I was scared to come after reading the reviews for this place. If you are going for the experience of the lake and everything and you just need a place to crash this is a good place to go. read more

On September 28, 2018 my husband and myself checked in to the Apple Inn Motel around dinner time. We left our luggage in the room and left immediately for dinner. I have to admit that when we entered the room it smelled badly but we thought we could tolerate it because we were only there for a brief time. We left the windows open and then went to dinner. We returned and were relaxing on the bed when we noticed a few bugs on us. I did not recognize them so I looked them up and found out they were bed bugs. we inspected the linens and found adult bed bugs between the sheets and by the mattress tops. Needless to say we left immediately!! We notified the manager and they refunded our money but that was not the end of our troubles. When we arrived at our next destination we told them of our experience. We did not want to spread the infestation. Long story short, we ended up having to throw away our luggage, backpacks, purse, leather briefcase, clothes, anything that could be infested and not 100% guaranteed debugged. A major loss on our part of our personal belongings and much time and stress. Our vacation was ruined on many levels. Please do NOT stay at this hotel and ruin your vacation as well. read more

Great motel for the price, about $100 a night. The front desk attendant was polite while she asked questions like how many people were with me and what the make model and license plate number was on my car. I was a little off put by the questions but after looking around I realized why, the parking lot is very small so they probably have had to deal with a lot non guests parking in their lot. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but it was expected. We only were given 2 small pillows, I'm not sure if we could have had more if we asked. The bathroom was clean. There is a small pool open until 10PM. All in all in was a good place to stay for the price. read more

We stayed last summer, rates were good for the summer, but staff was horribly rude! Manager was a very crusty old lady. Gave us a hard time about having children with us. Don't use a hand towel, or get anything on it, they will charge you. They charged us. The experience was not pleasant, so we were hesitant to stay again, but decided to give it a chance. Staff is even ruder now! Again gave us hard time about having children, would not let our family of 5 stay in one room, tried to make us get 2 rooms, and pay for the rooms in full 2 months in advance. When we said no, we don't want to make the reservation, they ran our credit card anyway. When I called to ask them to reverse the charges, they did not even have a reservation for us. Still have not gotten the credit, and our bank is in a fraud dispute with them. DO NOT stay at this motel, there are far better places to stay in Chelan. read more

We stayed two nights here, the person checking us in was great, loved the Motels cat. Did find it funny that they had a cat in the office but did not allow cats in the hotel rooms. The rooms were clean and well kept, a good value for the price. $100 per night vs $250 per night a half a mile a way in downtown Chelan. Has a pool but there was an apple core floating around that I took out before I went in In off the lake but that's what makes it less expensive. Air-conditioned which was important when we were there because of all the smoke from the Chelan fire up the lake. Nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room. read more

We stayed in one of the older cabins that haven't been remodeled. It was pretty gross. The room has some sort of mildew/old smoke smell. You can see mold under the bathroom floor and the shower was pretty old. My husband had to hand tighten the shower head to keep it from spraying everywhere. The AC unit taxes the power in the room as each time it comes on the lights dim. I'm sure the remodeled rooms are more up to date and modern but the cabins leave much to be desired. read more

We know what we're getting into with this motel - we come because it's one of the (if not the) cheapest places to stay in Chelan in the summer. We've done it a few years in a row now and somehow I'm still surprised and grossed out when I see a roach crawl out of the kitchenette sink or across the bathroom floor. There are bugs, and lots of them, every time. There are signs noting that you must pay for any stains you put on the towels, yet the towels they give you are often stained! The shower doesn't get much hot water and the pressure is low and the drain gets clogged easily. The beds and bedding aren't the most comfortable. But, all that being said, it is (relatively) inexpensive for the area, and there is a very sweet and sociable front desk cat. The management was shady and rude while I stayed there. For Memorial day weekend, my friends and I booked a 4 person room. (I understand Memorial day weekend is an insane time for Chelan and rules change to accommodate crowds, but this was an extreme case.) We arrived to find out they were limiting 2 people to a 4-person room over Memorial day weekend, giving two of us wristbands at check-in, and leaving the other two with nowhere to stay. This 2-person-only policy was never written down or mentioned in the online booking process. The women at the front counter continuously insisted that we had "heard about the 2-guest-limit over the phone" and that it was concrete enough of a policy change to just mention it during a call. Other groups of guests were facing similar problems as they were arriving expecting a 4 person room and only 2 in their party getting wristbands. The owners of the Inn aggresively escorted people off the property who had no wristbands. The management only changed their tone after a guest from another group confronted them about their illegal implementation of a policy in order to get people to book rooms for cheap (split the cost between four instead of two) and then tell two of them they have nowhere to stay. We were immediately brought back into the Inn and the other two guests were given their wristbands by the front desk women, who clearly had their tails between their legs. If the person had not stood up to them and threatened to inform law enforcement I doubt we would've been let back in. The entire time we stayed, the owner of the hotel continuously watched us like children and bothered us for no reason, reminding us of "quiet hours" and doing walks up and down the halls looking for a reason to kick us out. It was just an uncomfortable experience over all. The Manager also told me to turn down the Allman Brothers on a sunny day during memorial day weekend...how un-American is that? read more

We stayed in a kitchenette during the height of tourist season. Rates were the same as for any other motel in Chelan. Management was very friendly (as seemed everyone else we met in Chelan and Cle Elum, incidentally). The appliances look like they date back to the 60s or 70s! Painted metal latching cupboards and shelves, cute little range top electric stove and fridge. Nothing except the carpet and furniture looked like it'd been replaced; everything else looked like part of the original motel. Even the dishware was 70s. That said, everything was functional. Green, efficient or the best quality, no; but functional. The fold out sofa bed was uncomfortable for anyone above their teenage years, and the queen bed is a very petite queen, so I am not sure how this would sleep 4-6, it barely sleeps 4. Everything was very clean. However, I would wear shower shoes in the bathroom, I don't know how you feel about 50 year old tile, but I was suspicious. Not sure I'd come back if I have other options until they do a little remodeling, but it was not bad at all. read more

Stayed here over memorial day weekend and I can honestly say this was by far the worst service I've ever received at any hotel in the past 20 years. Front desk staff was completely bitchy and rude, they made you wear a bracelet all weekend like you were at an amusement park and fined you if it fell off or lost it, had security working the parking lot and wouldn't let anyone in at all hours of day and night who did not have a bracelet, they attempted to change their policy on us without any type of notice on their website or warning that they won't be letting anyone who is under 21 stay even if you already payed AND tried to claim that they have a "one person to one bed" rule and would only let 2 people stay per room EVEN AFTER YOU PAYED AND HAD 4 PEOPLE LISTED ON YOUR CONTRACT FOR A TWO BED ROOM WHEN YOU BOOKED MONTHS AGO!! If you like to be treated like shit and be taken advantage of I'd recommend to stay at this place but if not, literally stay anywhere else. read more

I booked this motel several months in advance on the advice of a local, since we were coming for a wedding. We checked in and I noticed dirty stuff on the sheets in one of the beds, I decided not to worry about it thinking maybe they'd put the pillows on the floor and didn't see that it tracked stuff up on the bed. We left the 2nd day for breakfast and went to a store before coming back to get ready for the wedding- returning to our room, we found the door to our room wide open, no one around, the bathroom had towels on the floor with what I assume coffee spilled (not by us) nothing cleaned in the bathroom nothing restocked , so I called the front desk to complain... they sent some man, said that the cleaning staff had already left and did I want more towels??? Are you kidding me? Of course! He seemed surprised when he saw the floor, but didn't clean it. He handed me the towels and left...Nothing else, just left- never again will I stay here, and honestly you shouldn't either! Oh, btw- nothing was missing from our room, but my son in laws backpack (he's Army, so Army issue, was ransacked and the American flag was scratched up) He was pretty angry- read more
