Apple Store showing us new products on the big screen
Jeannette S.

What went well was the easy ability to schedule an Apple appointment through the Apple support group at the 800 number after I got help troubleshooting what may be wrong with my MacBook Pro laptop. Albert & Jerold checked me in efficiently with the repair team. I was told 5 to 6 days potentially before it would be complete. Ugh!! Now keep in mind I wasn't exactly happy with that news as this is my work laptop and the original price on the laptop through Amazon prime date was 999 for a 13 inch MacBook Pro. To fix the screen was gonna cost me almost $600 (more than half of the cost of the original 1yr old new laptop.) Warranty was exhausted 90 days before this happened. I have a complaint for Apple in general regarding the cost for this fix, but I don't blame the people at Hillsdale. Kevin was exceptional in getting it done for me within just over 24 hours. The service level at the Apple Hillsdale store is exceptional as well as the telephone support. The policies and cost of Apple parts and replacement is robbery at its best. Some form of waiver or discount would change my opinion. But that would mean they'd have to actually read this and listen and do something. The four stars are for the Apple staff. They would've had five except for the Apple costs for repairs and service.

Awesome team!!

I walked into the store fully expecting a long process to diagnose and fix my battery issues. The help was provided quickly and efficiently with incredibly competent and friendly service. The three people in the photo all deserve kudos for their great customer service.

Even the HDMI message disappeared after I checked and double-checked all my cables and connections. I took my desktop tower to Central Computers, not knowing whether the monitor, the cables or the computer were at fault. Pedro quickly determined that the computer was fine -- it was NVIDIA trying (with no warning) to update a driver that brought my system to a halt. He and Stirling monitored the update, then NVIDIA started a second one, which seemed stuck. Stirling downloaded the update directly from NVIDIA and finally got the job done. The wait (about 2 hours) was well worth it to regain my sanity. Pedro and Stirling were very kind, explaining everything and chatting with me when I wasn't browsing the aisles. This is now my go-to place for computer help.

Took my machine into the shop, and after initially discussing replacing the fan with many reasonable compatible alternatives, shop owner quickly recognized that a single particular power connector had come unplugged. I thought, surely not, that I missed that. But yes, we confirmed in shop that this simple solution got my machine up and running. Confidence in shopping at a computer store starts with this level of honesty and awareness, will come back!

I came in looking for some help upgrading my current rig, and he was incredibly courteous, polite, and patient with me while I asked what probably felt like a million questions. I'm pretty computer illiterate when it comes to a lot of this stuff, and he took his time explaining everything without ever making me feel rushed or like I was bothering him. This is actually my third time coming back to this Central Computers, and experiences like this are exactly why. They've helped me build my NAS, they've helped me repair my rig, and now they're helping me upgrade it. Every time I've come in, the staff has been kind, helpful, and willing to take the time to actually work with me. It's just nice having a computer store where I know I can walk in, ask questions, and get genuine help from people who know what they're doing And not feel like I'm some kind of bother or they don't know what they're talking about. Thank you again, Antonio. I really appreciate your patience and all the help today. God bless.

When I called them, they laid out all the possible paths we could take, as well as an honest assessment of whether the phone was worth saving. The staff was super nice and explained every step clearly. My phone was stuck in a boot loop (constantly turning on and off), making it impossible to perform a backup. I had very important photos that weren't saved to iCloud, so I paid the initial $79 diagnostic fee for them to open it up and assess the damage. A few days later, they managed to get into the phone and even sent me a picture of it working! They successfully triggered an iCloud backup, and I was able to see all my saved photos on my new phone. They gave me a completely honest breakdown: because of internal corrosion, making it fully water-resistant again would be costly, so they suggested just keeping it as a backup device. The Apple Store quoted me $600 for a replacement unit and refused to repair my device or recover my data. YeaMac charged me the $79 diagnostic fee plus $200 for the repair/corrosion cleaning, saving my data and saving me money. 10/10 customer service! I'd choose them over Apple any day.
