My experience began with a disappointing call to Verizon's phone customer support, which unfortunately didn't resolve my issue and still required an in store visit. This five star review is specifically for Jullian at the Verizon store in Milbrae. While there was one other employee present, Jullian was clearly the one running the store, handling about six customers waiting back to back and doing so with calm, professionalism, and focus. Even though my transfer PIN request required a corporate office, he went above and beyond trying to find a workaround rather than simply turning me away. His multitasking, critical thinking, and customer service were outstanding. I purchased a new iPhone and needed my carrier to transfer existing information from one phone to the new iPhone. Melvin at the Millbrae Verizon outlet offered to help me. Even though chronologically we are decades apart in age, Melvin conversed with me about upcoming Mother's Day plans to what kind of case I wanted for the new phone (unfortunately this store was out of stock in the style that I wanted. What I found engaging about Melvin was that he didn't have to make any effort to talk, we could have both sat there in deafening silence while "things uploaded". Instead he made it enjoyable and therefore I will not only return to this store if I need assistance but also recommend this Verizon store to all of my friends. read more

First of all, the ratings are very funny. All 1's and 5's. The only 2025 review was removed and was a rant against Verizon in general and not about the store itself. First of all, setting up and switching cell phones takes a lot of time (including moving data over to the new phone) - not by their choice, but by the corporate process. They like it less than you do, be assured. Secondly, if you've ever worked with the general public (GP), store workers really accumulate a lot of the anxiety of impatient people day after day. I offer this as a generic observation and defense. That being said, my wife and I waited about 20 minutes for our turn for Julian to help us. He was polite, relaxed, professional and capable. He asked a few questions to guide us to the product that would best fit our needs. Not only did my wife end up with the phone that best suited her, I ended up getting a free upgrade phone as well. I went to the Verizon store to switch my plan from an old one to the new Welcome Plan. I spent over an hour with a customer service representative, carefully confirming the change for each line and even requesting a physical printout of the changes made to my account. Despite this, to my shock and frustration, when I received my next bill, only half of my lines had been switched to the new plan, while the other half remained on the old plan. When I called the store, another representative incorrectly told me that switching the remaining lines would cause me to lose my iPhone promo credit. I decided to contact Verizon customer service directly, and the representative I spoke with resolved the issue by updating the remaining lines to the new plan while keeping the promo credit intact. I never thought I'd say this, but if you're planning to switch from a grandfathered plan to the Welcome Plan, you're better off calling Verizon customer service than visiting the Millbrae store. read more

I typically avoid going to Verizon stores because in the past, I feel like I'm going to get overwhelmed with a sales pitch or I'm going to be completely ignored. Thankfully, this is not the case here. As soon as I walked in, I was acknowledged and very quickly had someone help me. (I was looking to update my phone plan, consolidate my wife's plan, and potentially upgrade my phone.) Michael, the associate who helped us, answered all of my questions patiently, never pushed us to do anything, and was very professional. I had to come back on a subsequent day to follow up and again, they did a great job acknowledging me as soon as I came in and helping me out. I purchased a defective $50 screen protector. It chipped and cracked in less than 24 hours while safely in my purse. I attempted to return this faulty product and was told repeatedly that it is not returnable because it has a lifetime warranty. I tried to explain that do not want this product for a lifetime. I asked both of them to leave since we had to come back again during the week in Spanish and then the sales rep got really violent and started saying he knew how to talk Spanish and knew what I said. This is a huge, spacious store and every single time my husband and I pass by, we're mystified by how they manage to keep their lease because it never seems like anyone is in there. Though when we recently went a few days ago to inquire about coverage (we've had Verizon but thought of switching to either AT T or T Mobile), because here we are living in the thick of Silicon Valley, but get the shittiest coverage. But anyway, this place is super convenient and parking is a breeze because it's in front of a larger shopping area which has Trader Joes and Safeway, so there's tons of parking for this strip mall type place. When we walked in, the line was almost non existent, which is the great part, and the folks were super helpful in answering my husband's questions. The interior is spartan, super clean, and no joke: the floor is clean enough to eat off, definitely cleaner than my kitchen, and so shiny it freakin gleans. Is this a trick? not sure how they manage it. It's an off marketing strategy, though it might be inadvertent, because it kinda did beckon us to go inside. Very friendly and helpful people, though you might have to ask to speak to the manager (as we did because the first guy didn't really seem to know what to do with us). read more

When the company that makes her device fell behind the latest phone upgrades with their software, she was cut off and became extremely frustrated. I took her in to Verizon in Millbrae Square and between Anson, Kristopher, and Manuel, three separate visits and many phone calls to the device manufacturer, my daughter has now been restored to full communication. I waited almost 2 hours just to set up the phone and transfer data, which I could've have easily done at home, but I had to wait until the agent helped the other customer while it was being transferred. They also charged me a hidden nonrefundable Device Set Up (pretty much the labor), which any one can easily do. Be wary of this store! If there is a promotion on the Verizon website, go through them as they will not charge you any hidden fees! How this place gets so many positive review is a mystery, it is a total rip off. It is NOT a Verizon store, just an "authorized retailer", though if you go to the store you would not know that, and it's clear they keep it as hidden as legally possible. I signed up for a prepaid plan, and paid $20 for a SIM card, $35 "Set up" fee. Guess how much Verizon charges for those things"? ZERO DOLLARS. Now I know, after going to an actual Verizon store. I left this store having paid $60 (add tax of course) and I still did not have a functional SIM card, I still had to sign up and pay for actual service by ummm, calling Verizon. Verizon, as per usual, is the absolute worst. So we went in on Black Friday for the iPhone X deal, and great, got that. We were also offered the newest iPad Gen. 6 for only approximately $200. Cool! BUT we were told this deal came with unlimited data, and overall, our monthly bill would only increase by $10 for the new iPad's monthly service fee and then some for the new device monthly payments. Now you might be thinking "oh this dumb girl didn't ask about any additional charges"-- but we explicitly asked how this would affect our monthly bill, and like I said, we were told it would increase by $60 or so dollars. Come time our bill arrived, the amount had actually doubled. I understand that part of this was due to the device payment upgrade fee (which seriously, Verizon? You have to charge a payment upgrade fee and a device setup fee?) and some other things, but surprise surprise, the iPad's monthly service charge turned out to be $20, and the new unlimited plan is a banging $45 per device per month (~2x what we were paying for our previous plan). No discounts, no credits, nada. Called customer support and they couldn't do anything about it, but thankfully, they were able to revert us back to our old plan. In short, Verizon's workers are always a bunch of liars who tell you things just to make you buy things so they can get more commission. Don't EVER expect anything otherwise. read more

BEWARE this authorized reseller. I went in to switch to Verizon and buy a new phone. The sales person sold me "up" a model by telling me I qualified for a $300 trade-in promotion on my old phone. When the promotion wouldn't go through on the computer, he told me that they'd been having this problem and he'd have to put through a paper request - but assured me I'd get the trade-in. I'm not sure if he outright lied to me to get my business or if he was just incompetent, but when I called Verizon I was told my purchase did not qualify for the $300 promotion. When I called the sales person to complain, he told me he'd put the paperwork through a second time ... fast forward a week, Verizon doesn't have a record that he's done that.
