I had the car scheduled for a diagnostic with the manufacturer, and after the initial test drive, the service manager, immediately confirmed that there were in fact several issues with the vehicle. Carmax Laurel, did not offer to do a diagnostic test on my vehicle before I cancelled my contract. I was told that because the other store emailed the paperwork for return, that it was their mission to process the return and help me find a new vehicle as quickly as possible. 3 hours later, I began test driving new replacement vehicles in hopes of finding the right car for me. The first vehicle that I test drove, had low tire pressure lights on when I started the car to drive. The second vehicle had not been cleaned. There was in fact a half smoked blunt (filled with marijuana) in the passenger door. There was also, broken glass in the trunk of the car. I was outraged! How unprofessional and wildly inappropriate is it for the car not to have been deeply cleaned and detailed? Also, can you imagine if I would have been pulled over? The management team was apologetic. They offered to buy my lunch for up to $25 and they provided me a Lyft to my destination. The following day, the salesman I was working with never called me with an additional apology, he never presented me with any other car options that would meet my needs, and to date he hasn't said a word. I did hear from the service manager Debbie, and one of the sales managers, Steve. They both expressed apologies and offered to help me find another vehicle. I still don't have a car. I am waiting on a transfer from another store. At this point the level of unprofessionalism and the fact that cars are not serviced, or cleaned makes me want to walk away from Carmax all together. I am outraged and very disappointed in my experience.

(Quick back story) we had spend hours the day prior (Saturday) at another dealership and received a low offer on our trade, we put a 4Runner on hold and decided to wait to look at a BZ with the intent to return Monday since that dealer is closed Sundays, which gave us time to get an appraisal. Sunday we decided to get a CarMax appraisal just to feel more prepared with numbers and saw Sheehy across the street and open. Now, back to Sheehy Toyota; Moe was outstanding, when hubs and I walked up, we expected the typical salesman intro, not with Moe, he was personable and fun right off the bat. We went in to test drive the BZ to get a feel for what an electric car was all about, we weren't disappointed. We also inquired about a better model 4Runner they had and gave that a test drive also. We decided to proceed with both! So, onto the dreaded negotiations part I think we all dislike, right? Well, with Moe it was refreshingly short and simple. Moe explained they work offers based off carmax so we pulled out our appraisal which was accepted without issue, Moe and his manager provided great incentives and ultimately got us to a place where we felt comfortable moving forward. I've purchased a lot of cars and this purchase stood out from the moment we walked onto the lot to the warm muffins offered to keep the hangry away. Every interaction was pleasant and without ever feeling pressured to add on products and the atmosphere was fun (as fun as a dealership can be) Hats off to Moe and everyone involved, we love our new vehicles!

Found this out days afterwards and then had to go back to fix and the person could not drive the car due to this error. Second, no registration or the sticker showing information, for the windshield. Son had to go to MVA to find out that Sheehy Toyota has these items. NEVER did Sheehy Toyota call to let us know and the waiting period is a day away. Again, they don't proofread. Check your VIN against the paperwork they give you!!! This could have been on purpose since the first issue was dealt with the manager and a free tank of gas for the distance. Just saying.

    Shoutout to Charlie, Brent, and team! These folks are amazing people. Not only did I get a…read moremaintenance appointment scheduled for the very next day, I also was able to drop off my truck the day before. I ordered 4 new tires that had to be ordered and delivered the following day. But wait there's more, I also had to go Philadelphia for a family members surgery and could not be back until the following week... they said no problem! They kept it on the lot for me. Brent even called me and asked if I wanted to save @$65 on my Bridgestone tires by opting out on the "Bridgestone" lettering not being white. I didn't even know that was a thing!! Then he explained that the best thing to do in addition was an alignment once the new tires were installed. Our Red Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star is already blacked out so these tires went perfectly. We just ordered the same tires to replace our old ones with the white lettering. Genius and we saved money! Thanks to Brent! And a little secret, I had to have the team get out a space saver hanger out of my bumper!! It's the king that has two hanging hooks on both ends so that when it hangs down, it space saves. Well, I got one caught up in my tail gate after hauling stuff to my storage unit and because of the double hook detail it was stuck. So it wasn't able to pull up it up from the tailgate hinge, so I pushed it down thinking it would fall through! Wrong! Since I automatically panicked knowing it could possibly make a rattling noise if left in the tailgate which would drive us crazy... I was also thinking it could affect wiring or safety issues. Though I asked the team to try and remove it, I asked for them to keep on the DL and I would confess to my husband after the removal. Jesus teased me by pretending he was going to announce the task on the overhead speaker so the entire crew could hear it in the service bay and sales floor. I told him he was funny and that I was going to keep an eye on him from then on. The team did a great job with everything! And the carefully placed the rescued hanger on display on the passenger seat for me to appreciate. It literally was on my service ticket. The surgery also went smoothly! God is good! Now as my family member recovers, so will my truck be able to from the hanger removal. Thanks to the excellence of the Surgeon at University of Penn Medicine, the service team at Fred Frederick, and God's Hand on us this entire week!

No. But - they're scrupulously honest and do quality work that they stand behind 100%. We've had them tell us that something another shop told us needed to be fixed actually didn't and found the problem to be something small and inexpensive. Bottom line? I trust them. If they tell me it needs to be fixed, we get it fixed. I'd recommend them to anyone!

I was looking…read moreto buy the car off my dad to use as a commuter car but if you know Maryland you know that state inspection can be a hurdle so before I committed to the car I wanted it inspected and passed. The car failed with a belt issue. As far as I know it's the original belt, so for a 13 year old car to only be dinged for a belt I was really happy as I was expecting a laundry list of items to be wrong with the thing. The service advisor even brought the belt out and showed me what was wrong and it was definitely frayed, cracking, and dry rotting. I confirmed I wanted the belt replaced and they said it should be done in a couple hours. For circumstances out of their control that didn't happen (thanks parts store :D) but they quickly offered to valet me to work. They then picked me up at the end of the day to pick up my car. All said I paid roughly 450 for inspection and a new belt which was a big positive for me. As old as the car is I was expecting several items to be out of compliance and had a budget of 1500. As far as if they are above or below cost of other places I don't really know. The belt job may have honestly been a touch higher than I would've wanted but the valet, expediency and general vibe of honesty is worth a premium. I'm not even sure if the price really was "a touch higher", I'm blessed to not spend tons of time at an auto shop getting repairs all the time to really be able to do comparisons on price. I'll definitely be going here from now on as long as I live in the area. I magnet'd the business card my service advisor gave me to the fridge and told my roommate if he needs a shop to go here so I think that's pretty decent praise.
