I have an iPhone 13 and the battery has been failing lately so I made an AppleCare appointment at the Clarendon location a Friday evening. Definitely recommend making an appointment as they were pretty busy! Check in with seamless and they had all the data from my pre-diagnosis ready to go. I was helped by Ashley who was super nice and explained my options. I opted to replace the battery for $89 and a little less than 2 hour wait. Great location if you need to wait because there are plenty of restaurants and stores in the area. Everything went fine with the repair and since new batteries aren't charged, they even provided me with a charger to charge it up in store before by Metro ride home. And now my battery is back to 100% capacity! read more

Right upon entry, I was greeted with a warm smile and assisted by Gabriel who helped throughout the whole process from browsing to purchasing. He was very informative and answered all my questions. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at the Apple Store in Clarendon, Arlington, Virginia. On June 13, 2026, I visited the store seeking assistance with an iPhone that was experiencing both software and hardware issues. During my appointment, the employee assisting me performed diagnostic testing and informed me that no issues were detected. I explained that the problem only occurs when receiving phone calls and suggested that the device be tested under those conditions. As I attempted to explain the issue, the interaction became increasingly uncomfortable. I felt that the employee was speaking to me in a dismissive and confrontational manner. When I expressed concern about the tone of the conversation and requested assistance from another employee, I was told that would not be possible. I then asked to speak with the store manager, Keith Aiden. Rather than helping to de-escalate the situation or finding a solution, Mr. Aiden immediately defended the employee and suggested that I was likely responsible for the disagreement. At no point did he attempt to understand my concerns or investigate what had occurred. When I asked for his name, he became visibly frustrated and ultimately informed me that my phone would not be serviced and that I needed to leave the store. I was shocked by this response. I came to the store seeking technical assistance for a device that I rely on daily, and instead of receiving support, I was denied service and asked to leave without any attempt to resolve the issue. This experience was especially disappointing because it is inconsistent with the excellent service I have received at other Apple locations. Later that same day, I visited the Apple Store at Pentagon City, where the staff handled my issue professionally and courteously. I have also consistently received outstanding service at the Tysons Corner and Georgetown Apple Stores. Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience at the Clarendon location. During a previous visit, my elderly mother was attempting to purchase an iPad and was having difficulty understanding the technical explanations being provided. Rather than receiving patient assistance, she was directed to read product information on another device. When I raised concerns at the time, management appeared more interested in defending the employee than helping the customer. Apple has built its reputation on exceptional customer service, professionalism, and inclusion. My experience at the Clarendon store fell far short of those standards. Being denied service and asked to leave after respectfully requesting management assistance is something I have never experienced at any Apple location. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate attention be given to the customer service culture and management practices at the Clarendon store. The first three Apple Geniuses were totally terrific when assisting me at today's scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, the fourth Genius assigned to me was dismissive of my question, interrupted me when I attempted to complete it. Then she stormed away. She consulted with her Manager Tommy who advised me that I had slammed down my phone (not true) and I had cursed (also not true). Going to this class at Apple for my 16ProMax was such a great experience. I even went back to take a class on the Mac books to see if I'd like to go all in on Apple including my laptop and or desktop, I was just a little nervous about the office suite. Disappointed and frustrated with Apple's handling of my MacBook repair -- poor communication and no accountability. I've been a loyal Apple customer for years, but my recent experience with Apple and the Clarendon Apple Store has been extremely disappointing and stressful. My service request was created on July 11th, and I shipped my MacBook Pro under AppleCare+ on July 15 -- it left my hands in perfect condition. On July 16 at 6:03 PM, I received an email from UPS stating that the package had not been updated in over 24 hours and might be considered lost. They asked me to forward that message to Apple and request an investigation. I immediately called Apple and spoke to a Senior Advisor named John, but he refused to start any investigation until July 22. I've sent 12 emails to Apple's CEO and the Executive Team asking for help. No action has been taken. Then, on July 22, another Senior Advisor named Ben put me on hold for a couple of hours while trying to locate my MacBook, as he couldn't find any information in the system. He also told me that after hours, Apple didn't scan the device until July 18. I still didn't hear from Apple until July 24, when I received a vague message saying, "We need to hear from you." Around that same time, a representative from Apple's Executive Relations team called me, not to help but to push me to pay for alleged "screen damage," even though I had already provided clear photos showing the MacBook in perfect condition before shipping. Honestly, it feels like Apple sold me a defective, customer-returned, or refurbished unit without disclosing it. I paid full price for a brand-new MacBook Pro, but it has been nothing but problems from the start. Even worse, this was the 4th repair in just 2.5 years of owning this MacBook. The second repair was done right here at the Clarendon Apple Store, where I personally dropped off the device -- so yes, I am a local customer of this store. I called the Clarendon store and spoke to Will, who told me this "isn't a store issue" and that managers "might not talk to you." I insisted on speaking to a manager but was told they would only call me if they wanted to. This is how Apple is treating a disabled veteran, under AppleCare+, who simply wants fairness and accountability. My device was damaged after leaving my hands, during a period when it was with UPS or Apple, with no transparency, yet I'm being told I have to pay. Apple used to stand for quality and customer care. But this experience has shown me otherwise. I am beyond disappointed. The device originally had flickering and horizontal lines on July 11, and by the next day, it had completely crashed. Jessica from Apple's Executive Relations kept insisting that the photo I sent wasn't clear -- saying there's some brightness or reflection -- and asked me for new proof. But I had already provided multiple photos: front, back, screen, keyboard, and touchpad before I shipped the MacBook. I don't understand what more she was expecting, especially since the MacBook was no longer working. It feels like they're just trying to shift blame instead of helping a loyal customer. What exactly is she hoping to see on a screen that no longer works? This is not just unreasonable -- it's completely absurd. If Apple has insurance or internal claims processes, why not handle it directly with UPS or the service depot? Why shift the blame onto a customer who followed all instructions? Why is a disabled veteran being made to suffer after paying full price for a product that should have been reliable -- not a lemon that's been repaired four times in just two and a half years? read more

I made an appointment for 2:30 pm to have my iPhone battery replaced. I arrived on time and had to wait fifteen minutes to be seen by a technician who told me that they could replace the battery but the wait would be two hours. What is the point of an appointment if there is a two hour wait? But it had to be done so I left the phone and asked to be texted (on my Apple Watch) when the service is complete. They could not even do this! The tech said that they only have a "land line". Um, ok... Anyway, I returned two hours later and was given back my phone with a 6% charge! The tech (different person than the tech who took my phone earlier) said that all batteries are delivered dead to the store "for safety reasons". Um, ok, fine, but why not at least put the phone on a charger so the customer doesn't get it completely dead? I had to sit an additional fifteen minutes to get a partial charge so I would not have a dead phone the rest of the day. Poor experience overall. read more

Was sent to Clarendon Apple by Tyson's Apple. Got there near close, and despite at least 5-10 Apple employees hanging around, had to wait. Finally someone came over to see if we were being helped. We were not. So, they took our phone, and told us that the phone would be ready for pick up at 10:40am the next day. The next day, we came in, also near close, and the same situation happened. Then, when someone did find the phone we were "just supposed to pick up" after it's repair, they tell us "sorry, it had water damage, so we can't fix it, but we placed an order for the replacement phone, if you want to pay $99 for the replacement. Replacement should arrive in 3-4 days. Further, we were told at TYSONS that there WAS NO water damage! My issue was not being ignored on arrival, or, that I had to pay $99 for replacement--BUT if they weren't going to have it ready by 10:40am, and the phone couldn't be repaired, WHY DIDNT THEY CALL ME. AND WHY did Tyson's say there was no water damage and Clarendon said we DID have water damage? I asked this, and they said they don't typically call people, they prefer to speak to them in person if there are options for us to decide. Then, I said, what if I upgrade the phone to one you have in store--can we do that? They said YES, but we're about to close, so I'd have to come back again. It seemed not matter what I did I was going to have to come back again. They said they actually opened the phone and that's how they saw the damage. They said Tyson's likely didn't open the phone. This place is 30 minutes away and there is paid garage parking. I didn't want to come back. I was upset that nobody bothered to call. The tech tried to say they didn't have my phone number either, and IF they had had my phone number they could have reached out. WAIT. HOW do you NOT have my phone number. Then when I pressed the issue, he flipped a few more screens and there was my phone number. I pointed that out and he that they don't typically call. I asked to speak to the manager who offered NO resolution, and said that he'd share my feedback that I was pissed that nobody called. WELL THANKS. I still wasted my time. He didn't even offer to validate my parking. Very mild apology with ZERO resolution. That was Monday. We still have no replacement phone, and I don't expect a call when it comes in. As a nurse, if I didn't call someone if their appointment was cancelled, the patient would be LIVID if they showed up and were then told their appointment was cancelled. Against my better judgment (after reading other reviews of terrible "genius" bar experiences) I came to this location for their "genius" bar services. After 3 visits I ended up having to get an entirely new device because they weren't able to replace the battery on my old device properly. I also ended up losing ~2 years of data because they didn't handle the data transfer from the old device to the new device at the store properly. In addition, they acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me a "new" device. I was more than satisfied with simply replacing the battery on my old device and continuing to use that... 0/10 do NOT recommend this location for any of their "services". *The one (and probably only) redeeming thing about this location is the associate with pink hair named Kate I believe (or Katie). They (Kate/Katie) were pretty kind throughout the unnecessarily difficult 3 day process. read more

Upon leaving my Macbook Pro for battery service Alex had recommended at Apple Clarendon, I had trusted my computer was in good hands. But, Once I reached home and turned it on, there was no Wifi, Keyboard backlit was off, and the SD Card reader wasn't reading at all. I took my macbook back to the location and met Jose. He took my computer, and was only able to fix the keyboard backlit, but couldn't fix Wifi and card reader issue, and he told me to hold onto the computer and he would call me once he get a hold of his technicians and service team. I insisted him to have my computer inspected by the technician once again, but he refused and told me that all the pictures of the computers are taken, and there is no need to inspect. I then returned home and got a call from Jose telling me that I need to spend $600 for the fix. I immediately declined since the computer Wifi, keyboard backlit, and card reader was all functional before I took it to them for battery service. He said he would call me back after talking to his service team. I got a call from the lead service Manager of the service team. Instead of resolving the issue, he suggested I buy a new computer and offered me $250 off. His reasoning? It's an old computer which seem to have just started giving problems and it happened to be the exact time it was brought for the service. I knew something was fishy and simply not right. It seemed more like an attempt to deflect responsibility. What I found was rather an unbelievable act by them. The technician had bent the IO cable pins while handling my MacBook Pro, resulting in a non-functional Wi-Fi, and card reader issue. To add insult to injury they have done, Apple's solution came with a hefty $600 price tag! Fortunately I am tech savy who can build computers. I took matters into my own hands and fixed it myself by ordering the IO cable from Amazon for $8.99. Four multiple visits and no solution! Such unpleasant experience lets me think about the competence and fairness of Apple service. Not the customer service I expected from Apple! This computer was my first Apple purchase in 2015, and unfortunately this will be my last Apple purchase. read more

I went in for a phone replacement due to broke camera. I was paired with a technician that basically rushed me out. She erased my old phone without the eSIM being properly transferred to the new phone and I even asked her to wait before deleting the phone to ensure proper recovery her response "oh it takes 15-20 minutes for it to properly transfer and if it doesn't go tmobile". she continued to erase the phone and now I am missing a lot of data off my phone, and I did have to go to T-Mobile to rectify her mess up. I understand that I came in later but it is Apples job to PROPERLY TRAIN their employees in customer serving and care due to her unwillingness to do her job right I'm without data on my phone. read more

Four total visits for a simple issue... I needed a battery replaced and made an appointment. Went in, waited, and was told that they did not have a speaker that needed to be replaced with the battery. News to me but I have to trust the geniuses. Was told to come back a week later when the parts would show up. Second trip was to get the work done - work is done. Get home and my bottom speakers did not work - they were working before the battery was replaced. Third visit - to have it sent for repair, this time it would need to be sent in to another location. There were a lot of calls and shady things by Apple during this time, but I will leave those out because they were not directed by this store. Fourth visit - picked up my phone and it finally worked the way it was supposed to. After many years of good experiences with Apple and Apple Stores, this was not one of the good ones. read more

My new Apple TV stopped streaming. Spent time with Apple online help support troubleshooting, resetting, etc. They said I needed to take it in so they could do hands on troubleshooting and they would fix or replace. They made me an appointment with the Clarendon store. Showed up and explained the issue and troubleshooting performed. They never touched it - said it needed to be replaced but they were out of stock. I asked if the could just mail me a new one. Nope, I had to take the broken one home and wait for an email to bring it back. I asked to speak to the store manager. He confirmed that they didn't have any and I would have to take the broken one home and bring it back later. Got home and checked online to buy a new one. Yep, I could buy and pick up at the Clarendon store. So, they did have them in stock and were not honest with me. Called Apple support, they didn't believe me, called the store to confirm. Came back and said they had inventory available for sale, but not for warranty replacement. Said they can't do anything to help because the store makes their own decisions. So both the store manager and Genius Bar person lied to me. Sad and disappointing. 2 days later and still waiting on the email so I can spend another hour or two on this issue. read more

After purchasing a pair of AirPod Pro's less than 3 months ago thinking they'd be the greatest thing of all time, I was sadly mistaken... Really wish I would've had a review like this one before throwing down a few hundred bucks. Anyway, Apple is clearly having major supply chain issues, yet it doesn't phase them one bit, as they are willing to jeopardize their morals and ethics. They will keep anywhere from 10-20 people in blue shirts on the floor at one time selling promises they have no intentions of keeping and they certainly won't tell you that they are having supply chain issues. If they vocalize that they have no supply, effectively there would be no demand which ultimately would affect their stock price. Bottom line is that my AirPods stopped pairing 2 weeks ago. Walked into the Arlington based Clarendon Apple store and the young lady who took my scheduled appointment which are also near impossible to get these days... When I explained to her that my pods stopped pairing and the light sequence was opposite of what it should be along with the right earbud not working, she took the case and pods to the mystery backroom and returned 10 minutes later came back and said that her tech team had verified that the case and right airpod were defective and eligible for replacement. I guess anyone who has a negative gut wrenching feeling might imagine what came next.... She said they didn't have any replacement units in their inventory, which is when I questioned, "so you mean if I was a new customer today and wanted to buy new airpods, you wouldn't have any in stock?" and she said "no the Genius Bar has their own stock" which I'd imagine are all returned and refurbished product. She checked all of the stores in the region and their Genius Bars didn't have any either. Seems to me it's almost by design, so that they can save the new airpods for their new customers. She told me that the faster approach would be for her to order them through their Genius Bar and have them shipped to me. Naturally I asked what they would do with mine. She notes "they just use them as spare parts." Meanwhile back at the ranch.... She took mine and sent them to some 3rd party service center in PA. Later I kept receiving status updates talking about how they were being repaired. I spoke with 2 employees and 1 manager at this location and both assured me that replacements in their system were often noted as repairs, yet they would be definitely be replaced by Saturday. Little did they know I had taken a picture of the inside cover of the case and screenshoted the serial number before leaving them behind with hardly any reassurance. The updates continued to tell me that they would be received by Tuesday of the following week. Once received I was utterly disappointed as they were the exact same AirPods I had dropped off at the Clarendon location the week before. Two days later I am sitting here with a similar issue and the right ear bud won't pair. I answer incoming calls and no one can hear me. What a time suck this entire customer experience has been. We are a cardiology services company no less and have a corporate account with them, yet their since of urgency is lackluster. If your in the market for new wireless earbuds, do yourself a favor and go with the Jaybirds. From a servicing and delivery standpoint, Apple is overrated. Apple advertises that they have a great product, yet after paying a decent amount and they break even while under warranty, buyer beware they'll simply suggest that your 3 month old defective AirPods are deemed replaceable yet the replacement is actually the same janky pods you left them with from the beginning. Unfortunately, I own their overpriced stock, which based on experience have already placed a sell order at tomorrow's opening bell. Nothing worse than lying to one of your investors. read more

Oh, Apple Store, you offer so many smiles from so many oh so friendly employees, staff members so willing to help that I am certain that I've stepped into an Apple Cult. Yes, it is all so pristine and friendly that I must be in a cult. I mean why else would two employees swoop in to help me switch out my iPhone 6 battery? Suspecting a potential up-sale pitch, I block any attempts to put me into a new iPhone 10. "I'm really happy with my iPhone 6," I say, only to hear my tech duo chime in unison: "That is fine. Your battery should be changed in about 35 minutes." It is all so easy, so friendly I tell myself that there must be some sort of catch. Any moment now Tim Cook will most likely pop out from behind one of their hidden walls channeling Steve Jobs: "Join us. Apple makes life easier. Apple is your friend." And as my battery improved iPhone is returned to me some 30+ minutes later, I find myself nodding in agreement, "Apple makes life easier... Apple is your friend." I was struck by some rotten luck resulting in a cracked screen on a relatively new phone that not even an Otter Box could save. I made an appointment at the Clarendon Apple Store to get a consultation and see what was covered under my limited warranty. (Note: Unless you have insurance/Apple Care, not a lot is covered :(.) I've been to Apple stores before, but this my first time visiting to see a tech. When I entered the store, they had employees greeting customers at the door and doing intake. I arrived 40 minutes early for my appointment. They checked me in, and a technician came to help me about 15 minutes later. While I waited, they had a training presentation going on in the background to teach customers how to use functions on their Apple device. I also overheard the technicians prioritizing their workflow - "this issue can be resolved quicker than this one" - which really helped for a smooth customer service experience. My technician was friendly, straightforward and professional. She understood that I was just there to get information and figure out my options. She ran some diagnostics on my device, explained the pricing, and didn't pressure me into making any decisions then and there. I appreciate that she didn't try to push any sales. She answered all of my questions - what my warranty covered (and what it didn't), risks of using a third-party to fix my screen, the price to buy a new phone, etc. Despite the busy atmosphere, I never felt rushed. It costs $129 for an out-of-warranty screen repair (consistent with the website). They could fix it same day, in two hours. This wasn't the answer I was hoping for - I was hoping that my warranty would cover it - but I accept it and will take this information for consideration. On my way out, the employees at the door wished me well and told me to have a good day - which is always a plus in my book. read more

Not to mention the area is located in a chill spot with a few surrounding stores to kill time if needed. I was early for my appointment but was seen less than five minutes by the representative. Everyone was very friendly and attentive! I had to come back a few hours later (not sure why it took that long for a battery replacement) but it gave me a chance to explore Clarendon a bit and headed to D.C. afterwards. The gentleman that had my phone was extremely nice and quick. I had to stay a while to restore my phone and everyone seemed very helpful even while currently helping others. Apple is ALWAYS packed and that's a fact but I was lucky to have had a smooth experience yesterday. p.s. Parking is horrible but there is a nearby garage that is free for two hours with a self validation from Whole Foods across the street. read more

Hi I just wanted to share my experience at your store in Clarendon and if you could help me schedule an appointment. Just a little back story this evening : Had an appointment for 4:20PM today. Waited 30 mins, followed up, 15 mins later, nothing. 6:05PM someone finally comes up to me. Runs diagnostics for 10 mins and says they can't take me. Jose comes our, refuses to give me the GM or RM name or number. Literally walks away when I asked him why he gave me a paper that had apple Clarendon and the phone number. Long story he sent me away. A few employees apologized for his bahvior . Not fair honestly because I would have been sent away if I kept them waiting over an hour. read more

This Apple Store is located in a nice area, Clarendon. Being located here has its pros and cons. Pro: Nice area. Other stores (and restaurants) within walking distance. Upscale feel. Cons: Parking is a bitch. You have to pay either way, either for garage parking (0-1 hr. costs $6) or street parallel parking. My parents and I didn't remember to ask the Apple Store if they validate tickets, so for all we know, garage parking could be free. Still, finding parking is a pain. Upon entering the Apple Store, my parents and I were greeted by one of the employees. She was helpful enough, but she could be warmer. She helped us by informing us about the products even though she was stationed by the door to greet and guide people, but I wish she had been more personable or warmer with her communication style. It would've improved my overall experience here. She told us someone with more expertise on the products would come join us shortly, and within seconds, a gentleman greeted us. He addressed our questions and concerns on one of the iPads, then redirected us to another gentleman, who provided us with even more information. It was clear that the employees here knew their stuff, but I can only give this place 3 stars because I wasn't exactly blown away by their customer service, and I did not like their location. Also, they were not very accommodating of my disability. They could've opened the door for me as I entered or exited with my knee scooter. One parent was too weak to hold the heavy glass door open, and the other parent was trying to push me in. The employees could've held the door open as I entered to help me and my parents. read more

Took phone in for repair a/o evaluation because it was shocking me when I touched the screen. Same experience when I took it to Geek Squad and they directed me to Apple. Other than when I dropped off the phone it was a terrible experience. I received a call to pick up the phone and could not get any further info. When I went to the store they simply suggested not to use phone while charging or warning against static electricity. The representative was condescending and the sales manager, Kahleeq was dismissive. Requested a call from the store manager but they would not provide a name or a time/date when they might call. Extremely disappointing from a brand up until now I loved and thought was different. read more

I have been to many apple stores and this is literally the only location I come to. At other apple store locations, the customer service and friendliness was lacking, that is why I only come here! I am fortunate enough that every time that I had to come here for my iPhone issues, that the technician makes sure that they take their time with assisting me and makes sure I am well taken care of. There was this one incident I had with the phone and the manager at that time helped me, and I truly appreciated it! They are also good on timing, whenever I make an appt, I am always seen at the appropriate time. As soon as you walk in, they check you in and advise you that someone will be right with you. It is located in the Clarendon area across from the Whole Foods. They have a few free parking spots in front of store. Tip: Meter street parking in that area is free after 6 pm Monday thru Saturday and free on Sundays. read more
