I discovered this little gem very recently. I've been driving by it for quite a while, and thought nothing of it until one day! If you haven't been, you really should! I finally made it up to Apothica today! The vibe is relaxed, truly crafted for one to sit a while and enjoy. I had the strawberry shortcake latte. It was creamy and refreshing, with the perfect balance of strawberry and espresso. 10/10! I wasn't going to get food, but how could I resist trying a GLUTEN FREE everything bagel??? Seriously. This bagel had the best chewy texture, without the consistency issues that accompany anything GF. The gentleman behind the counter was quite wonderful, offering options to accommodate my allergy. Truly amazing! I have quite a few food intolerances I've been navigating and this place makes me feel like I'm able to enjoy some things I miss so dearly like a bagel and cream cheese. First time I had it I was a little concerned the gluten free bagel tasted so real but they assured me they source their gf bagels from NYC. The dairy free cream cheese is amazing too! Apothica is hands down one of the best cafes I've ever been to. Right from the moment you walk in, you can't help but notice the cool space, filled with plants and cool art. The menu is unique and I really feel like you can't go wrong, everything I've ordered has always been delicious. On this visit, I stopped by with my dad and I tried their seasonal Almond Cherry Latte, which was great, and my dad got their cardamom vanilla latte. I also had a sesame bagel with their garlic and herb cream cheese which is out of this world. Seriously, if you love garlic, this is the food for you. Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, I would do it over and over again for Apothica (especially for that garlic cream cheese). read more

Apothica is clearly a local favorite because it was very busy. One thing I learned is that it is best to place your order and pick it up if you want your food to go. Otherwise, expect a long wait. I was told the wait for food was 20-25 minutes but it took 40! Also, be aware that parking is a challenge. They don't have a lot so you have to find street parking - which is scarce. I had to park over a block away. Upon entering, it is a nice quaint place with a lot of traffic. They also must double as an evening lounge because I noticed that they serve spirits from a local RI establishment Rhodium. But of course, it's all about the food in the end, right?! I ordered the Waffle'nator. It is a quarter Belgian waffle with egg and sausage and cheese. It comes with maple syrup on the side but you truly don't need it. The sandwich was absolutely fabulous, albeit small for the $15 price. For that price it should have been 1/2 a waffle in size. I also ordered a vanilla lavender latte and a brown sugar almond latte. Both were solid but had too much lavender and almond flavors, respectively, to be anything other than average. The flavors overpowered what would otherwise have been excellent coffee. If they pull back on the flavor just a bit they will have winners. I'll likely return just on the strength of the waffle sandwich, and next time I'll make sure to call ahead! read more

It's changed hands time and time again. How do I know? I have passed this building I am sure thousands of times! Now, it's in my neck of the woods. It's been on my list to try but i got the push i needed. The Cumberland Library is running 1,000 books before Kindergarten. We spent 11 month working toward completing the program (reading 1,000 books) and we did! As a part of the reward, parents for helping the kids received a gift certificate and I choose Apothica. So thank you to either Apothica if you supported these efforts or Cumberland Library if they spend money on these! Saturday on our way home from the gym- it was Apothica time. On street parking (touch in this area during winter due to snow and ice) but I climbed over that mound of ice to get to Apothica! Immediately I was impressed with the quaint decor inside. Very modern, sheik. Think crushed velvet stood, dark wood, plants, etc... Immediately the smell of cinammon hits you! And the HUGE cinammon buns were the culprits. They looked amazing. I will say the art work on the walls was like a Halloween display. Ehh I could do without that but I do appreciate their appreciation of art. Super nice folks working here. I went with an iced coffee for my husband and i went with a strawberry iced matcha. Let me tell you fellow Yelpers- TASTY!!! I am not used to flavored match other than just sweetened or not. There were about 5 other flavors that I am excited to try. This may be a problem with it being pretty close to my house but as matcha is high priced that will hold me at bay. I have to say this place has the best tasting coffee beans I've tried in the area. Strong enough but not over the top. Their iced and hot lattes are delicious. Went back for another after the first. Their seating arrangement for a coffee shop is 100% the best I've seen so far. Great aesthetic, with plenty of seating. Would be a great place for studying or go for a date. Third time here. I love it! Delicious breakfast sandwiches and amazing coffees! This place is vegan and therfore all dairy is vegan. But it doesnt taste fake, you wouldn't know. The banana bread iced coffee (See pictured) tastes just like a bite of yummy homemade banana bread. They do offer decaf options for coffee. I did mine half decaf , half regular. They also offer loose leaf teas. The breakfast burrito ($13) is stuffed to the brim with beans, vegan cheese, vegan scrambled eggs, lettuce, tom, onion and a hash brown. The atmosphere is welcoming. Its a bit tight in front when it's busy, but there is an entire additional room with space and tables just past the front room. Just check around the corner. Local artist sell artwork, stickers, mugs and tshirts. Great places to throw back some mimosas or cozy up with a coffee and a book. Staff is chill and friendly. A bit pricey. My large coffee and breakfast burrito came to $23. But you are paying for fresh ingredients, supporting a local business, and food and drink that will leave you feeling full and satisfied for the day. Their breakfast options are tasty (I usually get the waffle "egg" sandwich or a "sausage, egg, and cheese" in a gf bagel. Always tasty. And sometimes they'll have a GF baked treat in their pastry case. The drinks are always delicious. I love that they have so many caffeine free options. All that about the breakfast/brunch being said, their dinner is AMAZING. I don't know why there isn't a line out the door from 5-9 Fri-Sun. I've been three times now and each time it gets better. Currently the Mediterranean dish they have on the dinner menu is worth the drive from anywhere. There isn't much room inside for seating, but it wasn't super busy when I went, so it wasn't an issue for me. I went midweek and the menu mainly consisted of coffees, protein shakes, lemonade, breakfast sandwiches, and a few pastries. Everything is vegan. My daughter got a bagel and a cookie, both very good. I desperately wanted a latte, but decaf wasn't available, so I opted for a Cookie Monster protein shake, which was amazing! I thought the prices were reasonable. Service was quick. We were intrigued by the only fully Vegan restaurant option for Providence Restaurant Weeks; so we went, and we were beyond impressed. I had the "Crab Cakes" and Cassava Crepes while my husband had the Buffalo Chickpea Toast and Squash Rigatoni. All of them were excellent, but we were absolutely floored, in a good way, when we got the Black Forest Cheesecake. That dessert was beyond decadent, and we enjoyed each individual morsel. WOW! My husband and I stopped here today for a warm coffee drink after hiking in the snow with our dog in Lincoln- we saw the notice online that they allowed dogs. From the moment we entered, we had such a warm and welcome greeting and feeling from the staff. We checked if it was ok to bring the dog in before doing so. It's cute inside with a nice bar and tables. They also have food but since it was mid-afternoon we just chose a huge and delicious cinnamon roll to have with our wonderful cappuccino drinks. This place is very cute I must say. However, it is very tiny lol. It's very aesthetic and it has a legit coffee bar. Everything here is 100% vegan so the prices are $$. I just moved into the neighborhood and I wanted to check it out here mainly because they have handmade pop tarts that they call hand pies. Since my daughter took so long getting ready this morning I missed out on the opportunity to try one. Lol so I will definitely be coming back next weekend to get one. The staff move very fast, paced here and are super busy because they have great product! Their sandwiches are freshly made in the back and are good sized. Parking is on the street. Apothica Cafe was on my list to visit after seeing food pics on Instagram, (and I didn't want to be disappointed as it's a 40 min drive). Now here I am with a 5-star review because it was delicious!! The iced lattes/coffees were perfect - not overly sweet, but flavored to balance with the espresso/coffee flavors. We got a few sandwiches, including a breakfast burrito - the taste and amount of food was perfect, good value for the prices. Lastly, the staff were friendly as they worked quickly on a busy day. I've been left standing unnoticed in plenty of coffee shops before, but not here - they seem to greet everyone and are happy to give recommendations. Indoor seating includes two swings!!! Herbs and vegan options. Spices most places don't carry!
