Take-out menu from Feb 2021. Note scribbled on back from when I got wrong order Nov 27th '21.

Have lived around the Media area my whole life. Family has been going to Apollo Pizza since the early '70s and it was my #1 go-to pizza shop. They made excellent pizzas & cheesesteaks ,and their Cheesesteak Strombolis were to die for! I even used to buy strombolis to take with me when I visited old friends out of state, just so they could have a 'taste of home' again. They were always a welcome treat. Once ownership changed hands in the early 2000's it just really went downhill fast. My last time there, Fall 2021 iirc, I had ordered 2 Lg 16" pizzas--one with extra cheese and one with extra cheese, pepperoni, and green peppers. So,four toppings total ($$$) The shop had really started to skimp on cheese around that time ,so you had to order extra just to get the proper amount on the pizzas. When I got there and paid the counter guy charged me the correct amount (*see last paragraph for more on that) ,but gave me somebody else's order (with a similar name) of 2 Lg 16" pizzas that only had 2 half-toppings on one pizza; so I got ripped-off 3 full toppings! The other customer that got my order made out like a bandit! In my opinion, the quality of the pizza mainly started going downhill as soon as the shop installed one of those godawful conveyor ovens. The old school Bakers Pride (or were they Blodgett brand?) ovens that they used to use at the shop made a perfect pizza every time. The ingredients might still be there, but they're never going to get the old Apollo's flavor with that cheap new oven; sadly, a lot of local pizza shops are adopting those things. Another issue with this place; Between prices in the take out menu, the prices posted in the shop itself and what they ring up on the register--it's anyone's guess how they arrive at the total that they charge you. During the Pandemic,I vividly recall they would sneak in a extra service charge of $5 on top of their prices.I think it was such a profitable thing for them, they never dropped it. Could be wrong...but just running rough numbers in my head when I would place an order, it always ran about $5 or $10 more than I had guesstimated.

I remember the pizza as being more delicious than it was recently. The crust is good, the toppings very good, and the price okay but the sauce is too sweet.

I was very pleased with my Cheesesteak Royal. I wish they would have told me my cheesesteak was done especially since I was the only one waiting for my order. It came with fried onions, mushrooms, peppers, sauce and pizza cheese melted on top. The roll was toasted. It had a very good amount of me. I don't think I loved the meat but it was good. The extras added a lot of very good flavor. The sauce added flavor and juiciness. There was a lot of cheese melted on top. You definitely needed bite discipline to make sure you got cheese with your steak and extras.

It was good, only complaint is that we wanted hot buffalo wings and they weren't hot in flavor. The wings were hot in temperature, well cooked and the sweet and spicy sauce was spicier than the buffalo sauce. The pizza had a good amount of toppings and the crust was good too.

This was my goto spot in the 1980's and 1990's. Sadly the crust is nothing like it use to be.

The gentleman that took my order was friendly & was the one you made my pizza! I ordered a small Detroiter- cup pepperoni, with jalapeño & hot honey - what a great combination of sweet & hot! I can't say enough! This was my first time but will not be my last! If you're in the area - please show ICON Pizza some love! They have a few stools with a counter to eat but primarily a to-go spot!

Last night, I had the pleasure of indulging in two of their signature offerings: the Motown Pizza and the Greek Detroit Style Pizza. Spoiler alert: both left a lasting impression! Motown Pizza: First up was the Motown Pizza, a delightful homage to the Detroit-style pizza that's been making waves. The thick, rectangular crust was a sight to behold, perfectly golden and crisp on the edges while remaining fluffy and airy in the center. Each bite offered a satisfying crunch that's hard to resist. Topped generously with a rich, tangy tomato sauce that has just the right amount of sweetness, the flavor profile was elevated with a blend of savory spices. The cheese--oh, the cheese! A blend created a gooey, stretchy experience that paired harmoniously with the sauce. To top it off, the pepperoni was perfectly placed, slightly crispy around the edges and bursting with flavor. Overall, the Motown Pizza is a symphony of textures and tastes that will have you singing its praises long after the last slice. Greek Detroit Style Pizza: Next, I ventured into the Greek Detroit Style Pizza, which was nothing short of a culinary revelation. This pizza took the classic Detroit style and infused it with vibrant Mediterranean flavors. The crust maintained that same delightful crunch, but the addition of olive oil gave it an extra layer of richness. The toppings were a feast for the eyes and the palate. A generous layer of feta cheese added a creamy tang, while Kalamata olives brought a briny punch that contrasted beautifully with the sweetness of the tomato sauce. Fresh red onions rounded out the toppings, providing a refreshing crunch that made each bite feel light yet satisfying. What truly stood out was the balance of flavors. The Greek spices harmonized with the traditional pizza elements, creating a unique fusion that's hard to find elsewhere. It's the kind of pizza that makes you rethink your typical toppings and inspires a desire for more adventurous pairings. Final Thoughts: Rating 5/5 Pricing for the pizzas were very inexpensive and the quality was outstanding. Icon Pizza in Springfield, PA, has truly elevated the pizza game with their Motown and Greek Detroit Style Pizzas. Both offerings showcase a commitment to quality ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Whether you're a pizza purist or an adventurous eater, you'll find something to love here. I highly recommend stopping by Icon Pizza for a pizza (or two) of these delicious creations. You won't be disappointed! The service is exceptional my husband loves the owner and could not stop raving about him.

Food was not worth the price point. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, buffalo chicken salad,…read moremozzarella sticks, Old Bay fries, double decker fries, hot poppers, chocolate cake, and a milkshake. The poppers were the best thing by far. The pizza didn't really have any flavor and was tough to chew--not overcooked, just that weird play‑doh kind of chew. The mozzarella sticks were burnt beyond recognition; I would've had better luck chewing the bottom of my shoe. The double decker fries were packaged upside down, so when I got home all the cheese, bacon, and ranch were stuck to the container. The milkshake was okay, but the tiny two‑bite sliver of cake wasn't worth $6. The croutons in the salad were soggy before the dressing even touched them, and the Old Bay fries were cold with either way too much seasoning or barely any at all. Louis is cool and tried his best to make sure my order was right, and I appreciate that, but the quality for the price is ridiculous. This is only my third time getting their food -- the first time last summer was good, but these past two times have not been it. Last time I got an inside‑out and it had me sick with the runs all day the next day. This time wasn't as bad, but my stomach has been mildly upset all day and I still had the runs for the first half of my day. I'm not saying it was definitely them, but both times this place was the first and only thing I ate, expecting no trouble, yet somehow still ending up stuck on the toilet. If you want good food for the same price, places like Sorrentos on S. 55th Street in Philly or Pizzaz Pizza in Chester are way better options.
