Ribs, brisket, pulled pork as proteins. French fries, baked beans, Texas toast, coleslaw and Mac and cheese for sides.

Great bbq in Miami. This is probably one of the best bbq places I have been to. You can try a little of everything if you get a tray as you. There almost always is a wait here, but it's normally fast. There's plenty of seating inside and it has a solid bbq place vibe that you would expect from this place. The meats were all juicy and flavorful. The service was great since there were many servers working.

Taste is very personal and opinions may differ, I always try to respect the hard work behind the dish and be respectful. I give 5 stars for the staff, very kind and attentive. However I will give a 3 stars for the food. Did not pleased my taste. I found the chicken dry and coleslaw bland. Fries was the best dish.

I am a regular here every single week, me and my girlfriend always come for the $1 wing specials on Wednesdays and we always end up getting more than just wings lol, but everything we ever have here is always mind blowing. The lunch specials for the weekdays is great, the Brisket Chopped Cheese and the Cluck Norris Chicken Sandwich are great for the lunch special price and honestly you can't beat it. Service here always makes you feel at home, you come more than once and they instantly remember you and will welcome you back and it really makes you feel like you're apart of a family over there and that's something I definitely love about it here. Ambiance is nothing short of a big ol family dinner party vibe, all around fun with great music playing. Apocalypse is my second home and me and my girlfriend always have an amazing time here!

I want to start off this review on a personal note and big statement for myself. I do not care for BBQ typically, but this is the BEST BBQ joint I've ever, yes, EVER tried. My group of 3 walked up to the outdoor hostess, we gave a name for our group, it was about a 30-40 minute wait. It was expected since word of mouth was passed along that this place usually has a wait to be seated. Once we were sat on a booth, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiter, sad to say, I don't remember her name, but the customer service was all the way there! When I scanned through the menu, I wanted to dig all the way in. Keep in mind, I was a bit skeptical since I am not the biggest BBQ fan. For starters we ordered their brisket bacon, brisket wings, and a brisket empanada. We were also told there was a daily special, pulled pork mac & cheese french fries so of course we got an order. Their menu has changed since my initial visit, but it was all a la carte style; we created our own "platter" consisting of Mac and cheese, cafecito ribs, sausage, brisket, corn bread, coleslaw, elote, and maduros. Ooo weee! That's a mouthful and it was damn good. Their brisket meat is smoked to absolute perfection, has a crisp and is still extremely juicy (we ordered lean style). The flavors are all the way there and just explode in your mouth, you can't go here and NOT order their brisket, like cmon. I was very impressed. Now, I'm a carb junkie, so I was a major fan of their Mac and cheese and corn bread. I even took some to go, it was that delicious. You will be in the best food coma after all of that, I know I sure was! Though the food was phenomenal, I have to give up to the front and BOH. The real MVP's. You really see the staff work as a team, it's a sight to see. Our waiter, expos, and manager walked over to our booth throughout our munch time and asked if we were good, how our experience was, etc. The attentiveness was present- that's a lost art in Miami lol, so bravo! Great ambiance, food, and above all things customer service!

I arrived in Miami one day before my cruise & my friend highly recommended recommended this restaurant! We arrived around 6:45 and there was a 20 min wait, it didn't take that long & they offered free beer & water while we waited. It was off to a great start! Our server was kind and polite however it took her forever to take our orders and come back with the checks. She told us after we'd order that there can only be three checks which is fine but I wished it was communicated sooner. I'd never in my life been so irate with poor/slow service. It was insane!! It wasn't even that busy. The food itself is 5 stars!! I sampled the loaded fries with mac & cheese, & pulled pork. It was to die for! The brisket & cheese empanadas were delicious. My entree was the half rack of ribs and loaded mac & cheese it was everything!! SN: they don't do online or call in orders, just a FYI.

I would also see this place being promoted online and decided to check it out to see if it was worth the hype. Let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Our server explained the entire menu to us and manager even visited our table to ask how everything was. Note: wait time to be seated can be long. Make sure to sign up in advance for their wait list on yelp and let them know when you arrive. The waiting area is in an outside tent with a fan and benches. They do provide free water and beer while you wait for your table which definitely makes them different. I really liked that they did that

Food was great as always. My wife got the brisket. I tried the Wild Boar burger. The burger came out cooked perfectly MR. This was the first time I've had it. It was amazingly delicious. The Cowboy Candy on it was absolutely delicious just the right amount of spice and sweetness! From the host to the management everyone was very nice and friendly. The restaurant is always well kept with the amount of foot traffic, they do a great job keeping the place clean. Jean was our server, he is very knowledgeable of the menu. He answered our questions without any hesitation. And was truly trying to make sure we order everything we needed.

The ribs and pulled pork as well as the corn bread were super good. I didn't love the brisket, it was very salty to my liking.

Apocalypse did not disappoint! The dining area is very large and we were seated within a couple minutes of putting our name down. Our server was very friendly and constantly checked in on us throughout the lunch. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and thought that some of the standout items were the spare ribs, brisket, and the corn bread. The flavor on the spare ribs was spectacular and very different from what I'm used to when it comes to Texas style BBQ. The brisket was very juicy and tender. The corn bread was the perfect texture/sweetness and I loved that it came in a skull shape. I definitely will be back especially on a day that they are doing beef ribs!

Sofi D.

Apocalypse is just as delicious as the rave (and long line) makes it out to be. Expect a long wait that will be very much worth it the second you get a bite of the ribs, or the brisket, or the corn bread, or practically absolutely anything on the menu. There's not a single thing I can't suggest on their menu because everything we got to try was absolutely to DIE for. Our server was Fabio and he was incredibly kind and helpful, the food came out quick which was great cause we were starving, and the food was an absolute dream I see every time I close my eyes. I asked for a cornbread with a candle to celebrate my Dad's birthday and they were super kind in accommodating. One tiny disclaimer, if you're celebrating a birthday expect for them to make it a very very loud occurrence (which made for an incredible video of my introvert Dad). Overall I truly can not wait to be back and have a million wings and three whole cornbread all to myself.

Pulled Pork Tostones

I had been hearing about Apocalypse BBQ for a while, so I was excited when it worked out that we were in the area and hungry for lunch at a super convenient time where there was not yet a line! We had a great experience. Our server was so friendly and went out of her way to be kind to our 4-year-old and make sure she had a good experience too. The food here is BBQ with a latin twist. For appetizers, we had the Pulled Pork Tostones and the Empanada. The Tostones came with two pieces that were loaded with pork and pickled onions. It was a ton of food. And the empanada had a brisket and cheese mixture that was so incredibly delicious. Highly recommend both these appetizers. For our meals we chose to share the 2-person platter which comes with two meats and two sides. All of the portions were huge, so this was plenty of food for both of us and to share with our 4-year-old as well (whom we also ordered French fries for). I understand the fries usually come with garlic on them, but we ordered them without since it was mostly for our child. We ordered two portions of the Cafecito Ribs. As much as we liked the appetizers, these ribs knocked it out of the park for us!! They were so flavorful. Our server had told us they are more sweet than coffee flavored, as some had expected, but I actually found them to have a really good earthy flavor that complemented its sweetness so well. These were absolutely delicious. I believe the ribs were smoked 6-8 hours I believe. They were soft and fall off the bone, and, honestly, we'll probably order the same thing next time haha. For sides we had the Abuelita Beans and the Elote corn. The platter also came with four pieces of Texas Toast. The Abuelita Beans were interesting because they had a definite latin flair. My husband, who is Puerto Rican, didn't care for the beans, but I think it's because they were so different than what he expected. I thought they were good despite the fact that I do not care for Chicharrones which they had mixed in. There were small pieces and larger ones - I accidentally ate a larger one, thinking it was a potato, hahaha. They were good.. you just have to expect the flavor. The Elote was delicious but a bit salty. The ambiance was cool too. It was inside a long rectangular building. They even had strong air vents and fans outside to keep it cooler for those waiting inline. The inside has an elevated diner feel because it's shaped like a stereotypical long diner but with updated and sophisticated decor. They also have a bar, so cocktails and beer are on the menu as well. I had a Corona). Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely to back. You can add yourself to the waitlist from the website which I imagine would be incredibly helpful too!

The food was amazing. Best miami style barbecue I ever had. The service was friendly and helpful and always looking out for your needs. The space is very old school with enough seating for families and groups.

This was my second visit to Apocalypse BBQ, first to new location. Thankfully, there is now a waitlist to join before you arrive at restaurant. The online tracker is accurate and improved the overall experience. Mickey the server was on-point. All staff appeared happy and productively busy. Great music filled the air along with the delicious smell of food. Cafecito wings were best in Miami. Ribs fell off the bone, smoked perfectly and tasted ideally. Asked for three sauces, mustard, coffee sauce and a jalapeño mayo sauce. Pulled pork was fantastic. Beans were perfect with crunchy pork rinds within. Beer was cold and well priced. Finished meal with two fresh Cuban coffees!! All in $120. Happy to recommend.

Least busy days and times?

If I have to guess, I would say right as they open during the week day. I went on a weekday at 6 PM (after work) and we barely had a wait time and got our food right away. It got busier once I left around 8 PM.

Many reviews say the food runs out quickly. Is there a number to call or message to check what's available before heading over to the establishment?

I tried looking for a phone number everywhere with no luck. If you find it please share. Also I believe they dont do takeout on the weekends.

Is take out available and if so do I just call and order ahead when' is least busy time to dine in please?

Yes take out is available. Best time to go is before it opens which is 11 am I'd go before that

Came Saturday 7/22 at 5:15pm. Not taking any guest, closed for private event. Came last weekend and they ran out of all smoked meats. We drive from Downtown so it can be disappointing. Since no phone # is listed can you put updates on your website?

Hey Jean, we keep all updates on our instagram page - it’s the easiest and fastest way for us to communicate what’s going on. Sorry about the confusion, please send me a DM via IV so we can chat and I can make it right with you!

Why does this categorize as a food truck?

They started years ago as a food truck. They opened their brick-and-mortar location not too long ago.

Do you offer takeout?

Hey how are you, we do offer takeout Wednesday and Thursday, we are Dine-In only Fri-Sun. Hope to see you soon!

Are your wings smoked?

Yes

Smoke & Dough... I Went Looking for BBQ... and Found One of the Best Pastrami Sandwiches in South…read moreFlorida Back in my day, going out for BBQ wasn't something you did every weekend. It was a special occasion. If you grew up in Miami, you probably remember The New Hickory on Coral Way. Then there was Uncle Tom's on 8th Street. Great food... but let's be honest... everybody was just a little nervous eating there because it was right next to the cemetery. You'd be halfway through your ribs thinking... "¿Tú crees que ese ruido vino del parking... o del cementerio? Later on we graduated to Luther's on Bird Road and 117th Avenue, and of course, Shorty's, the undisputed king that's been feeding hungry Miamians for generations. These days it seems like a new BBQ place opens every other week in South Florida. I recently tried one of the newer spots in South Miami... except when we got there they were out of half the menu. Nothing kills your BBQ excitement faster than hearing, "Sorry... we're out of brisket." That's like walking into Versailles and hearing they're out of croquetas. So when our friends Ana and Henry invited Betty and me to Smoke & Dough in Kendall, I was ready to get my BBQ on. We walked into this unassuming strip mall, I grabbed the menu, ready to order ribs or brisket... ...and then I saw it. The Pastrami Sandwich. Now THAT got my attention. Finding a really good pastrami sandwich down here isn't easy. Roasters 'N Toasters has a very good one. Lox of Bagels (what many of us still call Lox of Lox) makes a solid one too. But this one... This one beat them both by a mile. The meat was warm, juicy, incredibly flavorful, the cheese perfectly melted, the Thousand Island dressing was just the right amount, and the bread held everything together without falling apart after the second bite... a miracle in itself. And it wasn't one of those fancy little sandwiches you need a magnifying glass to find on the plate. This thing was substantial. I shared it with my wife... ...and I was full. ¡Y yo soy tremendo comelón! Our friends ordered the brisket empanadas, a quiche, and brisket sandwiches that looked absolutely outstanding. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked like somebody back there really cared about what they were serving. The atmosphere surprised me. Instead of feeling like an old-school BBQ joint with picnic tables and sauce bottles everywhere, it feels more like a cozy neighborhood bistro that just happens to know its way around a smoker. Comfortable, relaxed, and the kind of place where nobody is rushing you out the door because another party is waiting. They also have what looked like an excellent selection of wines and craft beers, which gives the place a slightly elevated feel without being pretentious. Now... everybody has been telling me about their famous **Smoked Flan Apparently it's slowly cooked on the barbecue pit for about five hours, giving the creamy custard and caramel a subtle smoky flavor. Believe me... I wanted to try it. But after that pastrami... Game over. There wasn't enough room left. The owners came over, introduced themselves, shared a little of the history behind Smoke & Dough, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Those little moments still matter. You leave feeling like they appreciate your business instead of treating you like the next number in line. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Good food. Great company. Friendly owners. A relaxed atmosphere where you actually want to stay awhile. After our last dining experience at another restaurant where we practically felt like they were timing us with a stopwatch, this was a refreshing change. Will I be back? Absolutely. Not just for the BBQ... I'm coming back to see if that smoked flan lives up to the hype. And maybe... Just maybe... I'll order ,another pastrami sandwich.

While the meats were awesome that corn bread needs star billing. Neat place where you order at the counter but very attentive servers bring the food to your table. A hidden gem in West Kendall allows folks not to take a long trek to Wynwood or Brickell to eat quality bbq in a wonderful ambiance.

One thing about me is I love to have BBQ fresh off the smoker, but I do like that this truck is well equipped to keep everything warm, soft, and juicy. We tried the ribs and they were BUSSIN. Soft and amazing. In my life, I've never had ribs that soft before. They were seriously incredible. The pork sausage, though, was a HIT for me. I'm a girl who loves sausage, any kind, and the way this was so juicy just hit a spot for me. Matter of fact, I'll stop cooking sausages at home and simply come buy them by the pound here. The pulled pork was good. It's my fault for putting Sweet Heat BBQ on it without trying it first because LORD JESUS. I don't know what I was thinking. I underestimated the heat, and usually I love it hot, but LORD. I think my bread absorbed all of it. So, tread lightly with the hot sauces. For me, next time I think playing with a regular BBQ sauce and adding little dashes of the heated sauces myself would be the move. BUT IF YOU LIKE CRAZY HEAT, THEY GOT IT. The mac was good. The beans were FIRE. Perfectly sweet, and they actually have protein in them, which I can't say for all BBQ bean spots. Overall, it's worth the money. The service is respectful, and honestly, I will be coming back. I'll be ordering less food next time because LORD, I bought too much, but I'll definitely be back for a fresh brisket straight off the smoker. I can't lie. All in all, they're great. I like BBQ that tastes like hard work. Frankly, I want some love put into my BBQ, not just something that was simply cooked, and here they definitely have that. Only a true master can get sausage the way they do it here. 10/10. All juicy, all good. I'll be back. I can't recommend enough that you need to pivot your Thursdays through Sundays and try this place, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S FRESH OFF THE SMOKER. Real BBQ isn't about the presentation. My car, my hair, and my clothes all smelled like I rolled around in a smoker, which is exactly what I want from my BBQ. P.S. There are many photos on the wall of people in uniform, including a few movie posters, such as Tom Cruise in Top Gun, as well as badges of various military, police and firefighter branches. The first good sign for food quality is when we placed our order and was asked, if we want the brisket moist or lean. Different people like their brisket differently, no wrong answer there just preference, and I'm glad we are given a choice. The brisket is moist, as we like. the cornbread though was too dry, and the collard greens too salty. They offer six different sauces, and my fave is the Florida one with mango. The green bean salad comes in one size as an add-on. Okay first, the owner is clearly magic, because there isn't a grill in sight. I had no intention of ordering wings, but these are seriously the best wings I've had anywhere, in a long time (100/10). The rice and beans (10/10), and the rice smelled like it came from abuelita's kitchen. The slaw, oh my goodness (100/10), so simple, and yet perfect! I thought the chips were unnecessary . . . NOT! Every table she assisted she referred to our table as being the problem where the tables would then be staring at us and our kids the whole time. Every ask was met with a forced smile, and rolling of the eyes as she walked away. She then went to the system to enter the orders and was pointing at us - She clearly was annoyed of having to serve a large group like ours and made the experience terrible despite the food. I understand it's inconvenient when a high number table arrives but there was still a level of service and respect that should have been present. We will never go back.

One of My Two Favorite BBQ Spots in Miami!…read more Excellent BBQ, no question about it. I have two go-to BBQ spots in Miami, and Hate Mondays is one of them. Everything I've ordered here has been on point. The brisket is tender and juicy, the ribs are fall-off-the-bone delicious, and all the fixings hit the mark. The beef short rib looks absolutely incredible, and it's next on my list. In fact, writing this review is making me hungry, so my next visit might be sooner than expected! The portions are seriously generous, so come hungry. They also have a great beer selection, featuring local breweries alongside familiar favorites. Add in the laid-back atmosphere and old-school hip-hop playing in the background, and you've got the perfect setting for some seriously good BBQ. The spot itself is tucked into a small warehouse space, giving it that unpretentious, neighborhood BBQ joint feel. It's cozy, but somehow they always manage to get you seated quickly. Karl, aka the El Bearded Chef, is almost always on-site and makes a point of ensuring you're taken care of. That personal touch makes the experience even better. The only thing to hate about Hate Mondays is Monday itself because they're closed. Great food, generous portions, good beer, and a vibe that keeps you coming back. Can't wait for my next visit!

It's Friday happy hour, and we were in Kendall looking for somewhere new to try. While searching on…read moremy phone, I found Hate Monday's Tavern and was intrigued by the unique name. The location made us curious since the area is mostly commercial warehouses and apartments, not the typical setting for a bar and restaurant. When we arrived, we found the tavern in a small warehouse complex, with a full parking lot and BBQ smokers outside filling the air with an incredible cooking aroma. We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and directed to a bench while we waited. Seating is limited, but we were seated within about 20 minutes, and it was worth it. The place was full of locals who clearly knew each other and welcomed us as first-timers, sharing their favorite menu items. The atmosphere felt authentic and inviting. The restaurant was clean, and our waitress was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and a big part of our experience. We started with ice-cold local beers and chicharrones with spicy sauce, which were delicious. We then shared the chicken wings and brisket with coleslaw, along with a side of tostones. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Hate Monday's Tavern is a true hidden gem, and we're glad we decided to try it. If you live in Kendall or anywhere in Miami, I highly recommend stopping by. Just remember: don't go on Monday, they're closed! The owner really does hate Mondays! Five stars from us. We'll definitely be back!
