Monkey Business

Very small store, and there isn't any seating available, so it's more of an order-and-go kind of place. The staff was super friendly!! I really wanted to like this place since the reviews were so positive, but the Monkey Business latte just tasted a little too much like artificial syrup to me.

One of my favorite matchas in SoCal... top 10 for sure!!! It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Place is in a random strip mall, and it's a tiny spot with a few outdoor tables, but the employees are always great!! They will bring your drink out to you if you're outside. I love that. Coffee is also solid but I definitely come here for the matcha.

I called ahead to see if they served decaf coffee drinks, and they responded with yes they're able to serve all their drinks decaf. But when I go in they weren't able to serve most of the suggested drinks decaf. And then when asked to just have an iced decaf espresso with the same toppings as the cloud ape, they said they couldn't add that because it was a seasonal drink (it was just sweet cream with cacao powder). Overall the space was small and dark and the experience was not very pleasant.

What a hidden gem! The espresso flavor is outstanding. I came for the first time a couple of days ago and had to come back again today. I've had the brown sugar iced latte and the monkey business iced specialty drink with a warmed Almond croissant. Absolutely delicious. The croissant is nice and crisp and flaky on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. While ai was there, a staff member offered a sample taste of a ham and cheese croissant dish they were testing out. That also was delicious! I hope they bring it to the menu. The location itself is a smaller interior with seating outside on a covered portico outside the shop. There is a little refrigerated section for grab and go options as well as some yummy sounding food items on the lunch menu. The staff was very friendly both times I went. Highly recommend checking them out!

Service was great and we found seating right away. However, there's not a ton of seats available. Just 4 tables I believe. I got a matcha latte and an egg sandwich. The matcha latte was made with ceremonial matcha, whole milk, and had a banana cream top. Very good drink. The sandwich was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. Overall, I would be back for the drinks and maybe to try a pastry.

Amazing and super friendly employee!! Now this is what I expect at a coffee shop. Friendly staff and tastey drinks ! Definitely will become a fav spot of mine.

Ape coffee is something I crave on a regular basis and it's because of their Monkey Business drink. This location is small, with to-go ordering only. Parking is much easier and the wait is shorter compared to their Orange location. The inside is sleek and tiny with really friendly service. Monkey Business 10/10 - perhaps one of the best banana coffees I've tried. The banana foam complements the coffee so well, with real banana flavor and a nice drizzle of caramel. This drink is pretty sweet but you can still taste the espresso. Highly recommend checking out Ape Coffee. Their matcha is also great as well. Overall great beverages all around.

Incredible Ape Matcha - Oat Milk

First time trying Ape Coffee after following them for a long time, and I honestly didn't even know about this Placentia location -- a perfect grab-and-go spot. I ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha with oat milk, and it did not disappoint. Taste-wise: very banana-forward, super fresh, and not overly sweet -- just the right amount. Balanced, smooth, and easy to drink without feeling heavy or sugary. The space itself is very small, so it's definitely more of a to-go location. They do have three tables outside with six chairs total (two per table) if you want to enjoy your drink there. Service was super friendly and accommodating, especially as a first-time customer. I placed my order and had my drink in about 6 minutes, which is perfect if you're on the move. Overall, great vibes, quick service, and a solid stop if you're in the area for quality matcha or coffee. Will definitely be back.

I loved this place!!! I came yesterday for some coffee and it was so good. Service was amazing very friendly. My mom loved it so much I had to go back and get another coffee. Highly recommend!

Christine helped us we both ordered the banana matcha, the matcha is smooth and light. Christine helped us choose since we didn't know what to get today. But my bestie has never tried this place so we finally got to go together yay. Love this cute coffee shop, the vibe is nice the employee's are friendly. They have a lot of items to choose from, pastries, food and delicious coffee and banana matcha. Thank you for helping us choose this delicious matcha we got it with oat milk. We will be back again Christine was so awesome and sweet, thank you for excellent customer service and our delicious banana matcha. Thank you Sanny for the recommendation on that :) Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

Went to ace hardware and I saw ape coffee in the shopping mall, but I'd go in and try it. I ordered a hot latte with half-and-half. Their service girls were very friendly and took my order promptly. It is a very small place with no seating inside only outside the latte was very good. I'll be back.

Seriously never was interested in banana coffee until I had it at Ape Coffee. I have been here a few times now. Their Monkey Business ALWAYS consistent. There was one time when I returned a 2nd time on the same day for more. My nephew kept praising the strawberry matcha. He really liked it. Recently, he even asked me to return to get it. So of course I took him lol They had cute merch for sale as well. I wanted to get it, but they only had shorts. I wanted sweatpants...boohoo. There was a discount as well. Huge parking lot Some seatings out front

Friendly staff and creative drinks! I ordered the Tiramisu Latte and Monkey Business -- both were delicious. The Tiramisu Latte was sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Monkey Business is a latte topped with banana cream foam, which added a fresh and unique twist that I really enjoyed. The shop is very small, so there's no indoor seating, but they do have a couple of tables right outside. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks, which was a plus. I'm excited to come back and try more from their fun and unique menu!

Is there seating inside / access to outlets to charge my laptop?

As of today, they have added 3 "bar top" chairs inside that connect to 1 table top but it's a very small space inside and not the best place for working in my opinion - it's usually busy with many DoorDash & to-go orders. I am not sure if they have…

There were other folks around trying to get work done. Music level was pretty moderate. I got to place my order right away and it took only a few seconds to be ready. I got an espresso tonic, which felt like a refreshing option given the weather. Parking wise was moderately busy as it's located in a plaza; it does share the space with other businesses and felt crowded at the time. American Express is accepted here.

The café has a bright, cozy, and minimalist atmosphere with warm wood tones and soft pink accents. The space is clean and well maintained. They also have a nice selection of pastries and breads, including different kinds of croissants and salt bread. I ordered The Usual, their cream-top latte. The cream was very thick and heavy, almost like whipped cream, so I think it may be a matter of personal preference. The coffee itself was decent, but I didn't find the flavor particularly unique or memorable. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I didn't find anything particularly special about the coffee itself.

It's a very nondescript location, you could drive by it 10 times before you noticed it, but once you walk in, it has a very warm homey feel to it. I'm always greeted with a smile and a hello and they seem to have quite a few regulars, because they call them by name when they see these customers walk in. Service - The staff (who I am assuming are the owners) are super friendly, again, greet everyone, and always open to making suggestions. If a place has breakfast burritos, I'm always down for that...so that's what I went with the first time, and every time after. When I asked about their Bfast burritos, the owner suggested that I get it with a spinach tortilla, a totally new option to me, but boy was I happy with it. I have gotten it every time since then. Parking - lots of parking available...it's very strip-mall-ish, but doesn't seem to be too busy. If this place was much closer to home, I'd come way more often than every other week or so! Yum Yum Yum!

In both cases they were unable to prepare the food well. Last week I had eggs Benedict and the egg yolks were solid and The English muffin was not really toasted and was cold. I sent the Benedict back but Asked to keep the rest of the food because I was hungry. The girl ignored my Request, Took my entire plate and did not return with the other food on it. I literally waited 10 minutes for them to redo the eggs while my partner finished his breakfast and I had nothing to eat. The Hollandaise sauce was Very Good, but ham on the Benedict was incredibly thin. I've had many eggs Benedict and this was unusual to offer A slice of ham comparable to a thin deli slice. My partner's omelette Was quite Brown but had good veggies in it. His hashbrowns were barely cooked. Today We both ordered a veggie omelette with chicken in my partner's. I made it very clear that my veggie omelette should not be Brown (= overcooked) . The girl read Back our order and she wrote My request very clearly. What arrived at our table was quite a shock! My omelette was definitely Brown and my partner's omelette was dark Brown. My brown omelette had chicken (his order) and his omelette was actually my order and dark brown! I've never seen an omelette served that was that overcooked! How could they possibly ignore the instructions and mixed them up? Add to this that his toast was burnt. Really? You can't prepare Toast properly? When I brought it to their attention one of the girls she said I could see how you might think that as I showed her the burnt toast. She said we have already put everything away in the kitchen and so I don't know that we can do anything about it. We said it would be fine if it's an English muffin but, something that's not burnt. She disappeared into the kitchen for quite a while. Eventually when she resurfaced she brought the unevenly toasted bread, (But not burnt) and proceeded to tell us the following: " If you would get here earlier (We arrived 40 min before closing) we could serve you better" ( I later realized Those must be words from the owner). So if I arrive earlier my food wont be overcooked?Or if I arrive earlier they Have time to correct their mistakes? I knew the kitchen closes at 1:40. Waiting at the counter To ask about soup, I stood for 5 + minutes watching 5 employees move about. Finally I was able to ask and waited another minute or so while she went to go to the Back to ask. Now in line to order the man before me was trying to order (before 1:40) a vegan omelette. The girl said it was too late. He explained he had driven all the way from Riverside and it was still within the timeframe to order. She went back into the kitchen and a woman came out. (the owner? ) . The woman proceeded to chastise the young man for coming in late and trying to order a vegan omelette. She told him he'd done this before and he should get here earlier. He explained that he had not actually ordered but had tried. She said several times that she would make an exception this time but it can't happen again. And she continued to chastise him. Who treats their customers like this? .I literally watched the minutes tick by, wondering if I'd make it before the cutoff. More people entered. . Ah oh, do they know about the cutoff in 1 minute?? The girl behind the counter announced that no more orders would be taken after 1:45. Aw, they were being generous by allowing five more minutes to order. But there's no way these people could get their order in within the next five minutes. Will they say, too late, After they've been waiting in Line? Why not say instead, our kitchen is closing but we will be happy to take your orders. And why not hang a sign on the door that says the kitchen is closed at 1:40 But still accommodate diners's needs? The omelette tasted good but the experience was so negative, Such unkindness, Completely lacking in hospitality.
