Do not trust this company!!! I called Apache Moving and Storage several weeks before the move to get a quote. I spoke with Terry, the owner, who was very friendly on the phone. We mentally walked through each room in my house, and he asked me about furniture in each room. He gave me a quote over the phone. It was the best quote that we'd been given, so I arranged to have Apache move us from one house to another, about 10 minutes apart from each other. We had great follow up from Christy (an office person?), confirming the time and date of the move prior to our move date. On the day of our move, the movers showed up about 30-40 minutes late to our house. We didn't receive any calls stating that they were running late. I called Christy, and she explained that one of the guys was running late. A courtesy call would have been appreciated. Moving is already stressful enough without having to worry about movers showing up. Once they arrived, the supervisor of the crew, John, looked around at our items, and let us know that boxes and all of our household items were not included in the quote. When I originally spoke with Terry, and explained to him that we were moving, he only asked about the furniture, and I stupidly assumed that boxes would be priced in the quote. What family doesn't move boxes when moving an entire house?! It turns out that the quote Terry gave me ONLY included the pieces of furniture that I spoke with him on the phone about, but of course, he didn't mention that. I called Christy in the office, clearly very upset about being misled during the quote process. She quoted me $1.00 for each box, and $2.00 for each box over 50 lbs. At the VERY same minute, John was at my house quoting my husband $2.00 per box, and $4.00 a box for any over 50 lbs. Why was he quoting us double?! Total dishonesty. Christy also mentioned to me on the phone that they charged us for anything that they put their hands on, which absolutely was not explained to me during the quote process. I explained that their process was very dishonest, and she explained that I could've gone with their hourly rate (although she said it was too late to switch at that point). Terry didn't offer me any hourly rate while on the phone with him. All in all, they tried to charge us an additional $230 more than their original quote, and that still wasn't for everything that we had to move over. I didn't want to give them anymore of my money for their dishonesty, so we just had them move the furniture, and ended up paying more than our original quote, and had to move all of the boxes and other items ourselves. I fully admit that there were a few pieces of furniture that I overlooked when giving our original furniture list to Terry, and I was fully prepared to pay extra for them. The movers themselves were not careful with antique items. They leaned an antique hutch over on its two (already weak) legs, and when I mentioned that he please be careful with it, I got a small smile and "It'll be fine..." Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Also, in our brand new (newly built) home, there was a scratch in the sheet rock and paint after they left. For a moving company that has been in business for 18-19 years (according to Christy), they have very poor ethics. I cannot tell you how upsetting this move was. read more

Recently, I hired Apache Moving & Storage to move my family from a single-story home to a two-story home within the same neighborhood in Round Rock. I had recently suffered an injured shoulder/rotator cuff, so lifting heavy objects made it very painful and uncomfortable for me. Not to mention that I have had a bad back for decades because of my days in the military and my current line-of-work. Apache Moving & Storage saved my life a few weeks ago by sending SCOTT and SAMMY, and I had the best "moving experience" that I have ever had. First off, these guys were extremely professional and were very respectfully of my family and my property. They must have called me "sir" a million times it seems like. They wasted no time and got right to work, working as a team to load my belongings. My move, which I estimated to take about 5 hours, ended up taking about 2 hours longer than expected, but it didn't stop these guys--they kept trucking along until the job was done and I was completely satisfied. Like I told them that day, I simply don't know how they can keep their level of service so high--day in and day out--their job is far more physically demanding than what I am capable of on a daily basis. Arranged my move a few weeks before my moving date. Melinda in the office was very friendly and helpful and even called a few days to confirm the move and double check if the inventory had changed. I would not recommend Apache Moving on any level. They made my move the worst ever. It started with miscommunication between John, Christy, and Terry. The move was always scheduled as a partial pack and nothing less. The move was scheduled at 830am but since the original driver called in, it started at 1130. The guys showed up with no boxes, no paper and were immediately had bad attitudes because they were told something different! I had to go buy boxes in which they thought would be enough.....of course they ran out of boxes and paper. Needless to say.....the move wasn't even close to being finished. None of the closets were packed and lots of other things around that needed to be packed! I would have rather paid $150 an hour than the crap I had to deal with. If this place had decent owners/managers......this would have NEVER happened! This company is poor on every level. read more

I used apache for a recent move. I originally had a higher amount of Utes I needed them to move, but I was able to move a lot of it with help, thinking I would save money. The movers were nice, came early and where professional but the price barely got adjusted and only 5 items were moved, which cost me $193.50. I reached out to apache and was told I actually should have been $11 more and was told i got lucky with that, but my deep freezer was broken in the trip, so I don't see how I'm making out better on this deal. I'll just be gathering friends for my next move because it was way too expensive and now I have no deep freezer read more

I called and confirmed a day and time for these guys to come and move my stuff out of my apartment and into a storage unit. They were supposed to come between 2-5, but didn't show up. Didn't even call. Not until 7 pm, when the mover told me he "didn't see me on the schedule." I rescheduled to the next day, and they were 30 minutes late, unsurprisingly. Luckily they were quick and friendly, and I got a $20 (not enough in my opinion for wasting my time) but this place seems poorly organized. Will not be using them again when I move out of the storage unit. read more

Prior to moving from the Austin area to east of Houston, we did plenty of review reading and met with 6 different moving companies for a walk through. The reviews weren't super helpful as there were great reviews and awful reviews for each company. Some bad reviews came with cool pics of bad and unnecessary damage to clients items. Scary. After 6 walk throughs the decision was down to two companies. We had decided to pack ourselves except for items that hung on our walls, tv's, computers and monitors. Both companies came in with similar competitive pricing, however one would require we rent a truck in addition to theirs in order to keep the price down. We decided to go with Apache. Great decision. From the walk through with Terry the owner, the phone calls with silly questions I had for the office, the actual moving to the final check to make sure the trailer was empty, we had an incredible experience. Donavynn, Noe and Joey were a great team. Dare I say Dream Team?? They were for us! Each extremely polite. Each careful with our items. Really treating them like their own it seemed. They worked so very hard and utilized their time wisely. I'm pretty sure we ran them ragged on loading day. Then came the next day unloaded. Not one thing was damaged. Nothing. The price came back right on with our quote too. I would hire Apache (if we were guaranteed the Dream Team) again without hesitation. Sometimes the best deal is the best overall too! Thank you guys. This is my experience: I was contacted by James via a website I had selected via signing my lease. James made a record of my items and I put $100 deposit down. I did add more items to the quote before moving, I also took off items. They called me at the delievery time and said they had not left and we're waiting on one more quy, this was fine. They were 2 hours late, still okay. Day before I moved my apartment was switched from 3 floor to 2nd floor, thought this would change the price as they said it cost more for the 3rd floor but apparently not? Ok. Then they did nickle in dime me for a few extra pieces ...okay $200 more, no proablem. This is where it really became not okay! Maybe because my quote was by the item and not hour, they were incrediably careless! They litterly were running into walls! They broke my media console(which was my grandfather's), a chunk of my footboard as well as the wall, wow! 4 large black marks on my dining chairs, and almost all of my great grandmother's China!. You might be thinking maybe she didn't pack the china well. All bubble wrapped then wrapped in newspaper and in a plastic locked tub. They managed to break all but 5 pieces. Look I'm not a monetary person but some of these things had sentimental value. I emailed James soon after and asked how to submit a claim. Thought he had been quick to respond before .... Now not a word. I emailed two more times asking for help in this matter... Nothing. This company just wants your money, does not care about your items and will not allow you to make a claim if there is damage. Yes they were a decent price but beware of what you pay for. The guys themselves were very friendly and seemed hard working, just careless. I would urge you to look for another company. I have already talked to my apartment about no longer permoting them. These guys did an outstanding job!! My two (Logan & Cameron) movers showed up on time! In Leander at 8AM, on 6/17/17, and loaded everything I needed, followed me to my new house in LIberty Hill, and unloaded everything in neck & heat breaking speed. They went out of their way to breakdown our reclining couch for bulk trash day. Which worked out to our advantage since UHAUL failed to get us the truck we needed and my husband had to transport in his outback. My moving guys did a great job for us. After my extremely bad experience back in 2004, I was not looking forward to using another moving company ever again! You changed my mind! I need furniture moved to my house in the near future and I WILL be calling again. I absolutely loved your professionalism and personalize care. LOVE LOVE These Guys!!!! Used Apache to move from Austin to Houston back in May. I did all of my own packing and covering my furniture with pads and cushioning material. The guys that did the move (don't remember their names) were FAST and courteous. PROS: Competitively priced compared to other services. Fast loading and fast move to Houston. Customer service at the main office is top notch, they're very responsive. CONS: Due to their expediency the guys were not as careful as they could have been. A desk got a nice big scratch because the guys were loading and unloading as quickly as possible(happened during unloading with a dolly). I believe I avoided more damage because I packed and protected my furniture very thoroughly. Overall though, I would definitely recommend and would use them again. read more

Terrible. Over an hour late from the scheduled time that they gave me. Was only moving a few pieces of furniture. After leaving the first location it took them 2 hours to show up to the drop off location. Just across town. Over 4.5 hours for moving a few pieces of furniture 30 minutes away. They're rate was only 20 dollars less then another company... I wish I would of gone with someone else. read more

I am giving Apache two stars because our first move with them back in 2013 was excellent; however, the move in August 2014 deserves zero stars. This is based on the movers themselves and not the administrative staff. They were very helpful and professional for both moves. The reason for the late review is because we just moved our entire household out of storage yesterday, so I didn't get to see all the damaged items. Unfortunately, I had to work the day of our move, so my wife "supervised" the move. By the time I got off work, the guys were almost finished packing the storage unit. It didn't look like anything was covered or wrapped. Hard plastic and metal boxes were stacked on wooden tables and shelves. There were glass tops all over the place with no wrapping or covering for protection. I watched one guy slam a box into my 55 inch flat screen and said "oops I'm sorry." I was somewhat in disbelief based on my previous experience and the fact that my wife went to high school with one of the movers. This was the first time ever that I didn't tip the movers. Fast forward to yesterday, glass was chipped, legs broken on tables, scratches on pretty much everything that was wooden. I haven't plugged my tv in yet, but I sure hope it works. I do not plan to file a claim since it's been a. Few months since they moved me. Plus, I doubt I even have receipts for most of the stuff anymore. I am just washing my hands of the whole thing, and I will not use them again. The owner and administrative staff are a joy, but the people they hire are less than desirable. Sorry guys. read more

Definitely want thank Anthony and Brian for their hard work (and I mean it too). I had a difficult entrance to my apartment (couch wouldn't fit through the door). So the owner Terry came out and him and his crew came up with a plan to bring couch up through my balcony and they got done with no damage to the balcony or my couch. I'm hard-pressed to leave a decent rating, but timeliness is just as important as quality of the service to me. I used Apache movers a couple weeks ago and will never use them again. I recommend you don't even consider them as well. I was given a timeslot of 2-5 pm. Great, I can take the afternoon off from work and wait for the movers to show up. I requested a call an hour before arrival. Got a call at 445 saying they were running behind. Mike, my mover, didn't even know what time it was and said he just moves people from 630 AM till late at night. I asked when he would be there, I was told two hours, so around 7/715. I get a call at 7 pm saying they're finishing up and should be at my place within 30 minutes, so 745 pm ish. On comes 830, I call the apache moving office, voicemail, call the number back that had been calling me - Mike, get voicemail, leave one. At this point, I feel like I've been abandoned and would need to take another day off from work and find movers. I get a call at 915 saying they're going to head to me now. They show up this time, finally around 930. Note, I only had two objects that were way too big and too heavy for me to move myself, and I was just going down the hall. Simplest move ever. Took them ~15 mins to do. So they did eventually show up, 4-5 hours after the promised window and took $30 off my bill. Mike and his partner were nice, but that doesn't make up for being so late. tl;dr, movers showed up 4-5 hours late, I care the same about timeliness as I do quality, don't use apache movers. read more

Even offered to come back and help me put my new patio furniture together. Despite a delay due to the person moving into my complex before me, they still managed to get things across a parking garage and up some stairs efficiently. They never arrived for a confirmed move! I scheduled a move a week in advance with the manager over the phone and through email. I was contacted by them the day before to confirm their time of arrival. One hour into their arrival time on the day of the move, I received a call from them asking if I had ever scheduled my move! I told them that was waiting for them and the employee (Randall) acted surprised and embarrassed and said that my name sounded familiar. He said he would call the truck and call me back. When he called back he said that they were very behind schedule and would not arrive until 6:00-6:30p.m. At 7:00p.m. I had not heard from them and their office was closed so I could not reach anyone. At 7:15p.m. Randall called me and apologized and said that they were still running behind, but he would call me the next morning at 9:00a.m. At 9:30a.m. on May 28th I hadn't heard anything, so I called their office. I spoke with the manager, Terry Oliver, and he said that he wasn't aware that my move had not been completed the day before, but they would fit me in that day. They never showed-up and I never heard back from them. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I had to scramble to try to find a mover to replace them since I had to be out in three days. It was also the end of the month so most moving companies were already booked through the weekend. I was fortunate that I had an extra day, otherwise this would have resulted in further complications and costs. read more

What a nightmare! My move was scheduled for Friday (I even took off work!), received a call mid-morning, they said the truck broke down en route! They will call me when they get a mobile mechanic out. Never received a follow-up call, I waited a few hours and then called them. They inform me that they will not be able to do the job, I asked for first thing the next AM, they say they are all booked and would try to fit me in! Anyway, they found time for me in the afternoon the next day "sometime around 3 or 4" never heard from them again until 7:00 PM!!!!! the driver calls to let me know that they are on their way. Needless to say, I told them to forget it!!! who the heck wants to move at night?! not me!!! To this day, I have not heard from them with an apology or anything. Very unprofessional!!! Do not use! They charged more than the quote!! They did not move everything. We had to make 3 more trips from Boerne to Austin to get what they left behind. They were in too big of a hurry! They didn't move clothes, boxes without a lid and did not tell how they wanted everything before hand. There were closed tubs in the closet the left behind etc.... I used this company for my move in early 2013. I moved my things from the 2nd floor in my parents' home, to a 3rd floor apartment. I had less than 10 pieces to move, including furniture and a few boxes. But, I did move over 45 minutes away. It cost me about $300, which I didnt find to be completely unreasonable considering the distance and the fact that I was going from one upper floor to another. However, when we arrived at my new apartment, and they had unloaded everything, my dresser was chipped and broken. All of the tracks are messed up, none of the drawers are usable and they are also lopsided. When I mentioned this to one of the guys, he just said "I dont know what happened to it." (I believe it broke when he dragged it up the stairs on the dolly by himself, without help from the other guy that was there.) It was late, and I was tired, so I just let it be. When I went to pay, they conveniently didn't have any change and I ended up "tipping" somewhere along the lines of $27 or so. Maybe it's just me, but I think if you are in a business that accepts cash, you should be able to provide your customers with change. Especially if, when you called earlier in the day to confirm my appointment, I let you know that I would be paying cash. All-in-all, I'd only recommend them if you are looking for something quick and relatively inexpensive. No promises that they're going to take care of your things, or hold themselves accountable for it. Also, be prepared to "tip" if you're paying cash. read more

I went to their website and filled out for a moving quote. The quote fit my budget so I scheduled the move for Wed. morning between 8 and 8:30 am, since we closed on Fri. They called and rescheduled for Thurs. at the same time in the morning. Come Thurs morning finally around 9:30 am they show with a trailer that was way too small. Spoke with the owner Terry on the phone and he said the price would go from $1400. to a max of $1700. due to the amount of stuff and needing the larger trailer. 2 movers left to go get the trailer while one stayed behind to help me move my furniture and boxes to the driveway to have ready for the trailer. They finally returned around noon. When they returned they said the boss had decided to now charge $2245. but that price was an estimate and could change as they load the truck. By this time I was getting upset and asked to talk to the boss again. They finally got Terry on the phone again and I told him we needed an exact quote before loading, his price had gone up over $800. and was not firm yet. He said we had 250 to 300 boxes and they would be $1.00 each on top of the $2245. ( we ended up having only 162 boxes. We have video, audio, and photos to prove the facts. I told Terry, you have my hands tied and I will pay what ever you wish, I just have to get moved or be sued by the buyer that was moving in tomorrow. I told him I will let everyone know what he does to his clients by designing a website and witting reviews. He stated he had this same issue before and was going to refuse to move me. He then instructed his guys that the move was off. He said he would have them put my stuff back in the house. His guys said they needed to call him and see and went to the truck to do so... started the truck and drove off. Leaving an elderly couple and my disabled wife with half their home in the driveway. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE... DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THEM FOR A MOVE. I too chose Apache Moving after getting quotes and they were the cheapest, but that is after a 20% discount that they DO NOT extend to anything extra. The drivers are paid by the amount of the move and therefore charge an outrageous amount for anything extra. The entire move was $800.00 and the extras were $400.00. The owner is a big, loud bully of a man that basically laughed at me also. The driver double charged me for items that were in the original quote. They moved and charged me for empty boxes and items that were in shoe boxes. There were things on the original quote that they did not do or did not move and did not give me credit. DO NOT get fooled by their CHEAPEST QUOTE SCAM. That is just to hook you. This company is dishonest and there is no recourse, because the owner is the dishonest person who passes it on to his employees. You cannot win. Be smart cheapest is not always the best bargain. read more

Movers: Sammy, John, Eddie , (and later for the addt'l things, Scott): thanks very much. They worked very hard, professional, fast, courteous, and NOTHTING damaged. I had a high end piano and furniture. GREAT JOB! Why I did not give the fifth star : The original moving assessment was way under assessed in price and timing of the move. Only 3 men were sent out to move a 8,400 sq ft home. 2 weeks prior, a walk through assessment was done and I was told the move would be completed in 2 days. It took four. It took 3 men working until very late each night, (except the 4th) and once an additional mover came to help at around 10pm on the 2nd night.. It put me in an out-of-contract situation with the new owners. Since I had to leave town on day 3, I couldn't be there to direct movers and show them where things go. They did give me a free 2-hour time, where Sammy and Scott came back to move things where they belonged. Much appreciated. The cost assessment: The original assessment was approx. $3,200. This jumped up to $4,200 after they realized they needed a smaller truck to do many runs vs a larger truck. I understand this and it is ok. Then after the move, $4,200 turned into over $5,000 - (Why? extra boxes? I still do not have a receipt ...) and there were not enough men to move the grand piano upstairs. (5 days later I hired Cobra Piano movers for $250 to have 5 men move it upstairs ) Summary: I realize this was a big move. Kudos to the movers! Improvement needed on assessments in move time, nr of men to do the job, and price assessment. read more
