Aoki definitely didn't serve us Wagyu beef and basically robbed us and for those who ordered that dish. It's just impossible to compare it to the competition. Although service was great and our chef was fantastic, this restaurant has been my least favorite of all the Teppanyaki. The ingredients were fresh and well prepared by the chef, but the quality was not premium, the flavors and combinations are ok, the miso soup is good, the salad ok, the rice kind of basic, i am not the biggest fan of sweet potato combine with other vegetables so the veggies were just ok...the filet mignon was not that tender. We had to wait a whole hour for the chef to come to our table and the prices are kind of expensive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is attentive. Very overpriced and very small portions with sub par taste. We ordered the Gyoza pan fried and they were fully fried. The wonton wrap was white and stale looking. The food was delicious and our waitress was very accommodating even after in the middle of our hibachi order our son decided he wanted a kids order of food. I knocked off one star because the portion size on the lunch was really small maybe I was just over hungry but the salad and the food seemed to be much smaller portions but the flavor and the food made up for the size. Definitely will be coming back and don't forget to do the check in for your free desert. Just one tip if you order lunch maybe order an appetizer if you are really hungry! We sat outside, they are a very nice lounge area with adequate shade if it's too sunny. The menu had a great variety of options to choose from. It's dodgy at best for some to go out to dinner and be seated next to complete strangers, but that's the roll of the dice with teppanyaki. However, if we knew the stakes were going to be this high, we never would have left the house. Having an 18 month old, we normally stay in anyways, which is why any outing is usually a treat in and of itself. After being first sat at the table, we were then accompanied by a single man dining alone. We placed our preliminary orders, and then when our food arrived, the additional guests were sat next to us. It's not fun to prejudge others, but I assumed by the heavy eyelids that perhaps the new guests and their child were vision impaired. This isn't designed to be a slam on a very clear and sad problem affecting this family. Had my own son been older to recognize what was going on, we probably would have left then and there, but we decided to not be assholes and soldier through. The woman seated next to us clearly was high on some sort of opiate. Throughout the dining experience, she frequently was nodding off, sometimes practically on top of me. Half the experience of dining out is ambiance, and this never should have transpired, allowing in someone so clearly under the influence. Honestly, I feel worst for the child involved, but he seemed blissfully unaware of his mother's condition (or sadly used to it). We expressed our irritation to the staff, of which they initially offered a 10% discount. I wish this was only a 10% setback to ruin the evening. After much deliberation, they only would discount 25%. Mind you, this was so uncomfortable, we took all our food to go after Aijun finished his brilliant display of dexterity. read more

We were greeted and quickly seated by the host staff. Our waitress, Rainn, was excellent she checked on us for drinks and appetizers very quickly and throughout our visit. Both managers Jorge and Alvaro checked in on our table throughout our visit and made sure that we were satisfied with our food and service. Pierre was our chef for the evening and he was excellent. The food was delicious and flavorful. I shared an appetizer of the crispy pork ears with my girlfriend. I ordered the teppanyaki combination of the Ny strip steak and shrimp, with chicken fried rice. Was in the dadeland area and decided to catch dinner at this cool spot with amazing happy hour specials that range from Sunday thru Thursday. The prices are amazing at this time the menu includes the drink specials and food. I tried plates that most likely I wouldn't order because I was on a budget and why not lolol!! Our server was really cool he helped us choice from the menu and showed us their top sellers. My favorite was the Ahi poke it was fresh and delicious. The service here was awful and Karen was extremely slow. It took 50 minutes for a yakisoba order to come out, 30 minutes after the other food was delivered and it was because we asked for it. I'm guessing she forgot to put the order in. Not once did she come back to check out us for anything, or refill the drinks- and she was no where to be found. I prefer this to Samurai/Benihana's. There's never a wait here so you are seated rather quickly. The chefs are usually friendly and do some type of funny set while cooking your food. For example today, the server was disappearing it would take 15-20 mins to ask for a refill, and she wasn't a server who would offer a refill when your beverage / water was low. The food is always great and fresh, lunch portions are generous and for a great price *even on weekends*. Try also the miso edamame's.
