Loved the hibachi here! Portions are big, chef was interactive, staff was nice and restaurant was clean! Came with my office and we were sat along by request (and we were in a but if a hurry). We appreciated that they accomodated to our requests and exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, and the lunch prices are prettt good! Dinner is quite expensive but every hibachi place is. Plenty of parking in the garage that is attached to the food hall. Easily accessible and you can shop at Dadeland after, how perfect! read more

I enjoyed Aoki Teppanyaki. It's not the best restaurant I've been to, but it's not the worst either. They had a great selection of Happy Hour drinks and Happy Hour sushi rolls. The Wagyu sliders were amazing and the drinks were delicious and tasteful. My sushi wasn't terrible but I've definitely had better! Wish the sushi had a seared finish but honestly wasn't great as well. The servers were very attentive and continuously checked on us to ensure we were having a good time. I went for brunch, and have the Oyakodon. It's rice served in a bowl, topped with a mixture of eggs, green onions and mushrooms. It was pretty good, and was a decent amount of food. Server was really nice, and music wasn't too loud. As I'm writing this review at home, I realized that as per the menu, they were suppose to give me grilled vegetables which I never got. Coming to Aoki was a culinary experience that I will not forget. We came to celebrate my wife and a few other October babies' birthdays this past Sunday, and it did not disappoint. Our server, Daniel, was very nice, attentive, and made a lasting impression on us with his vast knowledge of the menu. The chef was super personable; he made sure to ask if anyone had any allergies, which was amazing since a friend of ours was allergic to shellfish. The chef was very careful not to mix the food. The show our chef put on did not disappoint at all--it was very entertaining overall. The Jidori chicken and striploin I had were very good. Usually, when you eat at Samurai or Benihana, the proteins are good, and the food leaves you satisfied. However, the food here left me speechless. That chicken and striploin were the most tender, most flavorful proteins I've had in a while. (And if you know your meat, striploin is a bit tough.) The fried rice was a smashing 10/10--no complaints about it. To end this experience, I had to try the brownie tempura with vanilla ice cream on top. Such perfection on a whole plate. I've never had this before, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. It's basically a fried brownie with ice cream. I felt the crunch, softness, and warmth of the brownie along with the cool, creamy texture of the ice cream. 100/10--it was bomb. We were surprised by the staff singing to our birthday crew and bringing complimentary ice cream. A very nice detail to end our day. Overall: For the price of everything, I think I got my money's worth. I would definitely return to try more of their amazing menu. read more

Nothing to say good about this place. The food is mediocre. We never got our house salads. We never got our edamame. We asked for cold saki. We got hot saki, and when we asked to exchange it, we never received it. We got our house salads when we're about to pay the bill. We declined. It's been a long time since we ate at Aoki located in Dadeland Mall, we decided to be brave and try it during Valentine's. After a short wait we were seated at the outside tables and not at the Hibachi tables. They had a great Valentine special which included house salad, filet mignon, shrimp, lobster tail, and their house fried rice. Our great waitress brought out two sauces for dipping and we were impressed how tasty all the food was. We had the BEST experience with our server and cook. We came on a Wednesday for the lunch special for my boyfriend's; Maria was fantastic. She's attentive, patient and so sweet. Soooo I'm not sure why this place has such a low rating when I'm honestly happy and satisfied with it every time I go. Every time we go, we get a little bit of everything and honestly the price for what we get is pretty good too! During lunchtime, it's pretty quiet and no wait time. They have a pretty good happy hour and lunch menu with menu items ranging from $10 to $20 per person. The staff is so friendly and the food is good every time I go! Let's admit it that part of the draw is the Teppanyaki show in the grill! I went with a friend and we were given to option to sit "just" for dinner. Don't! I don't care if there's an up charge but our chef Robert and one at an adjacent table we overhead were amazing and hilarious. We first enjoyed the mixed green salad with a delicious ginger seasoning. The greens were fresh and the dressing a mild kick. Then the show started. The eggs, the rice the scallions. My rice bowl was perfectly sticky and generous enough I had takeout for lunch this morning. Then the fire-fire-fire..the volcano onions, the grilling of delicious wagyu, chicken and mushrooms. I wasn't feeling their "yum yum sauce" (garlic mayo) but loved the spicy ginger along with the sriracha ketchup we ordered. The beef was tasty by itself, but the spicier sauces gave it an extra oomph. We didn't try desserts, but would definitely check them out again next time I'm in the mall. read more

I realize now that I have a love/hate relationship with Aoki. Service has not been consistent enough for me to earnestly give them 4 stars anymore. I'd like to start with the pros. I always enjoy my food and drinks when I visit Aoki. I also always love the decor and availability of parking at Dadeland. Now onto the reason for my updated review.... Service was definitely not there. Our waitress was Aura and although she did come fairly quickly to our table to get drink orders that was about it. She wasn't rude, but she was definitely inattentive and the other members of our party felt there was some disparity with how she treated our table versus other ones. We had another (cute) waiter named Javier who did help in compensating for her inattentiveness. I will say he was super nice and accommodating, but the members of my party were already super upset because of the absence of our primary server. I kid you not there was a party that arrived after us and had left before we had even gotten our check. Our chef was also super courteous but wasn't very entertaining which is disheartening because when getting slapped with automatic gratuity if service is inept, you want to at least feel like you're being entertained. Team could definitely benefit from more training on entertainment while cooking, even/fair distribution of good services, and de-escalation/compensatory strategies. Manager was notified and did validate my parties grievances, but that was about it. Don't feel like much was done to really alleviate things. Would not likely return unless things are rectified. read more

Me and my friend went for happy hour and tried almost all their happy hour items. I would give it a 7/10 there was some hits and misses. The drinks were 9/10. For the most part for the price it was good. Wouldn't choose items like pork buns or the tuna. The rice was really good and so were the chicken skewers. read more
