Great place for a drink, their homemade infused vodkas are top notch- though not as strong as you would think that they might be. Though still, totally fair price for them, and delicious straight up on the rocks. Very chill atmosphere with friendly staff. The only thing that I have second thoughts about this place is its location, because how often I am ever deep in the heart of Brooklyn like this? I was here on a Tuesday night (yesterdya). There was live music (a guy was playing the guitar) and although I wasn't much of a fan (he sat next to me and sang literally in my ear) it's nice to have live music in any venue. My issue is really with the food. I had the wild mushroom ravioli and it was honestly lousy. I don't think there were any mushrooms in my plate, just a vingeray goo inside the small thin ravioli. In the middle was a green heap of something that looked like kale. The smell was also rather unappetizing. I tried to call the waiter over to question him about the ingredients but I culdn't get a hold of him at all. The black currant martini was excellent, their drinks in general are very good but I suspect that chef was not in last night and they used some can food. read more

I might of been expecting more than I bargained for when I walked in. Very nice looking place, very neat & polite staff, terrific young lady singer backed up by a gent on acoustic guitar. With all of that said, this place is not for me. I'm an older gentleman but I love music and couldn't find a jukebox. No TV, and drinks were pricey. Did not try the food, but stopped by here with a friend on a very cold wintry night to grab a vodka flight or two and warm our bones. I liked the vibe a lot. Felt like we were tucked away in a side-street in Europe. The staff was attentive and it was very chill. It was a Wednesday night so I'm sure its a different scene on the weekend. I've gone to both locations a few times, and there are some pros and cons to this place. Pros: good food/good drinks. That would seem like it would be enough to give the place a perfect rating, however, there are some serious drawbacks to this place. Firstly, they allow smoking inside of the cafe. There's no less appetizing addition to your dinner than a face full of smoke. This place also seems attract the chain smoking variety of smokers, which makes the problem even bigger. Secondly, it's always loud, and the staff is consistently rude. If you're with a big group, its easy to ignore these things and have a good time. However, I would not go here for any intimate affair, like a date or what not, not the best place to get to know someone. read more

The live music gets annoying when all I want to do is chat and drink-up Russian style. What is drinking Russian style? Not too sure...I think it's ordering lots of vodka infused drinks along with some salads and praying to God you won't run into someone you know because the Russian community is obnoxiously small and they all hang out in the same places. Came here for a birthday dinner had 15 people with us ordered a bunch of food, food took a while to come but tasted decent the restaurant was totally empty just had about 4 people at the bar at the time the music was blasting so loud that you could not here the person next to you we asked our waitress if its possible to lower the music she said sure and comes up to the bartender and tells her, the bartender whos name is Anastasia screams at her and says no that she will not lower the music so i come up to her and ask her nicely again the restaurant is empty we have a big party here can you please lower the music she says with an attitude no the music will Not be lowered your not the only one here and rolls her eyes i dont know who hired her and why she is still there but she definitely does not know what customer service is and if the owner doesn't want to see his business keep going down should probably fire her. I will not be back here neither will any of the guests that were with me and i will make sure none of my other friends or family come here so enjoy your loud music in your empty restaurant. read more

The service is not that great and so is the food. Only thing I can recommend is their fired Calamari and that's about it. They only have a couple of beers on tap so if your a beer drinker not your place. Not a place you would want to come eat. They have good live singers and chill environment that's all. Really cute place... Good for a quick drink and bite to eat. Not so formal but still very nice atmosphere to be apart of.

Bars aren't known for great food, but you'd be surprised what you'll find here. I love the chicken and shrimp ceasar, the mushroom ravioli, the lamb shank. The baguette that comes with every meal is always warm and fresh, while the butter for it, you can get full just on that simple sandwich. The menu is on the pricier side, about $15 for the shrimp caesar and $13 for the ravioli, but it's worth it. Appetizers and deserts are generally good too. If you want to avoid the smoke, leave before 11pm, but the fun's starting only past that time. Friday's rock guitar is my favorite for music at Anyway. The violinist is great too, I've seen him Sundays & Thursdays. read more

I would rate this 3.5 stars. The atmosphere here is really nice, feels like being in a cafe in the city. The lights are dim, they have candles on every table. The food is ok. They have some great lychee martinis. They have a large bar with many different kinds of martinis. The food is nothing special. I've tried the ravioli before. It was not bad but nothing special either. I've had the calamari, that was pretty good, nice and crispy with sauce on the side. The portion was not huge, but ok to share for two as a small appetizer. Tried the mozzarella and pesto and olives sandwich, was ok. Sandwich was just piece of mozzarella with pesto on Russian black bread. Price was descent, 7 dollars. Also tried the avocado salad, was tasty, comes in an avocado she'll with sweet pepper and onion. The best thing is their bread and butter garnished with dill. Also every night from 9-12 they have live music which is what makes this place special in addition to martinis. Although I was quite disappointed when I came at 11pm on Saturday night thinking Id hear live music and there was maybe a total of 10 min of live music from 11-12 and the rest was just music off of a radio or iPod played off the restaurant speaker. I love coming here! Good drinks, good food and of course the live music! I think the best thing on the menu is their steak and of course the grilled Caesar salad is a must try. Service has always been great, the staff is welcoming and helpful. The few times that we came on the weekends, tables weren't available, so I'd recommend to make a reservation. Anyway would make a great lounge for Manhattan, so that makes it an amazing lounge for South Brooklyn. The area is quiet and residential, so it's a perfect location for locals who enjoy good food, drink and music. The wine here is top notch, and the food is pretty damn delicious. I might be biased because it's close by and making its way as historical for those of us who have lived within walking distance for quite some time, but they do well in business because of their friendly staff (which is rare in the area), welcoming and intimate ambiance, and stellar selection for food and alcohol. The live music is usually pretty good, too, and they choose primarily impressive musicians who happen to also be bilingual so they appeal to the local residents (i.e., me and mine). It's the kind of place you can bring a date, a group of friends, a significant other, or acquaintances. The clientele is agreeable and laid back, which is also a plus. Good food, great drinks. Nice and cozy atmosphere. I've been coming to this place ever since it opened (I believe it was 2001 or 2002?) - for over 10 years. Since the location was out of my usual way, I had to designate a day to go there. However, once I had a French martini (my usual back then) and tried their salmon ravioli - I had to come back at least once a week. Over the years, I tried every item on the menu, and most of them not once or twice. Pros: 1. Drinks: Wide variety of martinis. Since I used to bartend myself, I'm always interested in this stuff. What I like from day one is that even for martinis they used good stuff - not cheap house vodka like Giorgi or Gordon. Nowadays, I prefer not to mix my alcohol - whiskey or cognac, of which they have an impressive selection as well. I'm not a beer person, but I can see how others can be not too happy with the selection of beer on tap. However, this spot is more of a martini place. I heard that they have Anyway - "beer bar" as well. 2. Food: as I previously mentioned, this is why I kept (and keep) coming back. First it was salmon ravioli, then I discovered chicken-mushroom julienne (especially good with that complimentary bread and butter everyone keeps mentioning). After a few years - I went through the whole menu. Of course, like all of us, Anyway has its bad days and good ones. There were a few times, when the food I ordered was not up to my expectations. But, again, this is because my expectations grew exponentially with every dish I tried. Overall, the food is consistently better than most of the places I've been to over the years (both city and Brooklyn). 3. Ambience: this is one of the reasons I'm still a regular after all these years. The place is very cozy, laid back, and good for a drink/dinner with a friend, or just to sit by the bar (which is a masterpiece in itself I think) and observe others:) Also, since this place attracts an older crowd, you won't find too many pretentious or noisy college grads, which is a big plus in my book, since I like peace and quiet while enjoying my single malt and a conversation with a friend. Cons: Since they have live music (which is a Pro in itself), the performers can get very loud. I usually try to leave before they start (usually around 9-10).
