If you are a black or hispanic person I promise you are NOT WELCOMED HERE. The staff will look at…read moreyou and walk away. They would rather tend to their people who are white and prioritize them. This place acts in a very racist manner and I had the feeling that they were ignoring us because they didn't want us to stay. They seated me and my boyfriend in this corner and the table next to us was also a black and hispanic couple. The white people were allowed to sit anywhere and at this moment I had the worst feeling in my stomach. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with this location. I always go to red oak in bay ridge and the one time I decide to try out another spot, my boyfriend and I were racially discriminated against. I will NEVER come back to this establishment. We also ordered a margarita and a soda. The soda was a glass bottle but it was about 6oz. They charged us $5 for two sips of coke. The margarita was good. The truffle fries were good and their "buffalo chicken wings" were fried chicken with buffalo sauce on the side. We tried to order hookah but we waited for 30-40 minutes and nobody came to help us. We asked for help ordering the hookah several times. They will also hold on to your ID and card to "keep a tab open." Upon asking the waiter for our card back the pulled out a folder that had at least 20+ cards in it. She was looking through that folder for a few minutes before giving my boyfriend his ID and card back. I can only imagine how many people went and was never given their card back. The staff was walking around helping other people who are white and ignored myself and my boyfriend as well as the black and hispanic couple next to our table. The staff will talk amongst themselves and laugh behind the bar and by the registers. The table we were seated at had a call help button. The staff saw me press this button multiple times and still ignored me. I heard their work devices ring every time i pressed the button and I was still ignored. Please DO NOT waste your money on this establishment if you are black or hispanic. They WILL discriminate against you. My review is not the only review that mentions this behavior. Also, in the women's bathroom there are 3 stalls. Two out of three stalls were out of order. The bathroom smelled like musty toilet water. There was a little bit of toilet paper in that one stall and no napkins in the bathroom. My experience here was horrible and I regret coming here.

I used to admire the food and atmosphere this place provided, however yesterday's experience completely shattered the warm feelings that I had towards this establishment. The dining experience was horrible, starting from the waitress who could not get the order straight, to the extremely long times we had to wait for the food to arrive. We had to remind the staff about the order quite a few times and correct the deficiencies, yet the impression we got was that they simply did not care. Additionally, there were very few patrons inside, roughly six, not including the three of us, yet the wait time and overall quality of the service was extremely lacking! To make matters worse, the food did not taste authentic, the drinks were watered down and it took multiple trips for the staff to finally bring us a meal. The overall wait time between the order placement and the first plate appearing at the table was over forty-five minutes! Would anyone agree with me that such poor service is completely unacceptable?! Once again, the place was not busy at all and the food we ordered was nothing special or extravagant and therefore did not require thorough preparation. To top it all off, the neighboring table was filled with a group that were extremely rude, loud and constantly using profanity in front of other guests, taking away from the enjoyment of other patrons! The "icing on the cake" was when I asked that my meal be reheated and the staff refused to satisfy my simple request, all because their chef was under a pitiful impression that his "masterpiece" creation should not be subjected to the customer's desire to consume a decent-tasting meal. When we made several complaints regarding the subpar service to the manager, not only was the matter was not taken with the appropriate degree of concern, the attitude of the staff took on an even more dismissive tone. It was almost as if our patronage to their establishment was a nuisance and we were treated as pests. The final straw was the forceful addition of a sizable gratuity to the bill. When I asked for a replacement and the removal of the sum, I received the same exact copy, forcing me to manually write in the total amount, which I will ensure that the credit card company processes. It was almost as if they were mocking us! The ill-mannered and completely unprofessional attitude of the staff, coupled with poor food quality left a bad taste in our mouths in both, a literal and metaphorical sense! Do not give these folks your time and money, I highly recommend that you take your business elsewhere! read more

If I could give 0 stars, this would be the place! Customer service horrible beyond belief. There is one waitress/hostess (all in one) to care for the entire cafe which isn't small. And on a Saturday night?! thats ridiculous. I went here with my girl friends and we waited maybe 15 mins to finally put in our orders. The food was not good at all, disgusting compared to their location in Manhattan beach (where i'm a loyal customer and adorn the place). My friend's drink was too strong so we waited for our waitress to come by to return it to the bar. She never did instead she was chitchatting it up with the bus boys so at last when a bus boy ran by we asked him to take it back to the bar. Done with our food, we're waiting for her drink to return and its been a good 20 mins now, so my friend approaches the bartender and explains what happened so he hands her a new drink. The waitress FINALLY comes by and she's furious that we spoke to the bus boy instead of her. um maybe if you did your job right, we wouldn't have to! She ended up charging us for an additional drink even though we didn't even have the first one. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WARNING! read more

Seemed cool and nice....until, they asked us to be quite. In all the bars i have ever been to never did anyone say be quite! Its a bar with lots of folks who drink, talk loud, laugh hard and try to unwind after a hard day of work, their music was loud enough for our party to speak loud. All was good until this four eyed ass.... came in. To spend all this money and at the end (by the way this was after 4 hours of us being there) he said we were loud. Another thing to point out to the stupid bus boy, when someone laughing hard and leans again the wall and slips and falls (wasn't really a fall) instead of running to the manager to tell him there is a drunk person on the floor, maybe consider asking the actual person what was wrong (yeah you did ask if i was ok with a smirk on your face) but i didn't fall because i was drunk, if you stuck around you'd know that! In conclusion the place just sucks and only because of the people who manage it and some of their employees. Will not recommend for people who like to unwind and speak loud, if you like the library experience this place is for you. Will not come back, ever. Sincerely not. read more

We had a party there. - Stuff was professional and friendly, that's we like definitely. - Life music is a big plus. But sometimes they were too loud, so we had to rise our voices. Now let's talking about food. Definitely-definitely recommend Julienne. Everyone who will come to this cafe should try it at least once. That has really amazing taste; we ordered it twice for everyone. Next. Some of us ordered Sauteed Shrimp with Dill Cream Sauce and Pasta. Well, it wasn't bad, but there were only 5 shrimps, so we had to fill stomachs mostly with pasta. That was disappointed. In the Braised Lamb Shank was too much of soy sauce. Actually that was the only you can taste in this entree. Can say nothing about their burger (didn't try) but french fries??? (potatoes slices) that came with it were burn. But Home-Smoked Salmon Filet with Lemon Spinach was good. So if I will come back there again, it will be just to eat Julienne . Or two of them. read more

I've been going to the other location of Anyway cafe on Manhattan beach but since they close that location down we've been coming here and every time me and my friends say it's the last time, we give them another chance but unfortunately that's it. We are not coming here anymore! The staff is very rude, absolutely not friendly, they do whatever they want, do not pay attention to customers. By law there is no service charge should be added on the bar, but they still add it even for party of two. Classic ocktails are made with wrong recipes and when we asked about ingredients which are not specified on menu Liza rolled her eyes as if she is doing us a favor and not her direct job!! On the top off all their weaknesses is Cash Only, so they won't clam any service charge or tax!! read more

I love this Place. Plain and simple. The food is outstanding, particularly their uniqe flavors, they really create something different and actually tastes good, simple food, but difference between many other places whatever you gonna order there will have unique aftertaste and mouthfeel.
