I tried Antonio's a couple of weeks ago with a friend. We were craving good pasta and this place came highly recommended, so we decided to give it a try. We got there right when they opened on Friday and their service was excellent right from the start. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. I ordered the pappardelle bolognese and aside from it needing a little bit more seasoning, it tasted pretty good! The place can be a little tricky to find, so make sure you head up to the second floor of the building (elevator or stairs). Got away for the weekend with my girl, and after walking/wine sampling through Winter Park, we decided to grab some Italian food from Antonio's! Going in, we were unable to sit upstairs, but were able to order from downstairs. For starters we had the table served bread with herbed oil, and Caesar Salad. For entrees, we got both the cheese ravioli, which one was served in the original tomato sauce, and other with ala vodka. Moving on with this review, the food was excellent! Enjoyed for starters the crusty and fresh made white bread, and the herby oil had garlic infused inside making addictively delicious. The Caesar Salad had been dressed nicely, and a home made taste. My favorite part, the ravioils of course, had a nice soft texture, and great ricotta cheese filling. Both sauces were great, one being more tomato based than the other. In addition, prices were reasonable at raviolis being around $15 per plate. Moreover, service was very attentive and friendly. First time here for lunch! Ambiance is 4 stars and I don't give 5 because the elevator is filthy! Service was 5 stars. Our wait person was great: cheerful, helpful, and attentive! Everything after that was disappointing! The coffee was good but the cups it was served in are not intended for human fingers. The bread was so hard it cut the roof of my mouth. I checked the fresh bread on the way out through the deli so the upstairs restaurant must be the way they move yesterday's stale bread. The salad could have benefited from more tomato or a bacon crumble. The chicken Marsala was dry and rubbery, the gravy too salty, and the vegetables were totally unremarkable. Then came the chocolate cake which was old and dry! So another once good restaurant gets stricken from my list! My suggestion.. charge more but deliver better quality in both preparation and ingredients! Food was 2 stars. read more

4 Stars for some pretty legit pizza! I'm half Italian, so I'm pretty picky with Italian food. This place is so close to where we live and I'm so sad we didn't try it sooner! We only ordered to go, which I ordered online. The online ordering was pretty straightforward and gave me an estimated wait of 40 minutes. After waiting around 20 I decided to pop in. The space downstairs is more of a little store with many different types of Italian treats and food explore. The counter was a little busy, I had to wait a good 10-15 to pick up my order but it was ready before my estimate. I was iffy about getting anything crazy on our first visit, so we just tried the 14 inch cheese pizza. I have to say they did a great job and the crust was so nice, crispy with a little bit of breadcrumbs! I'll definitely be back, it's hard to find good Italian restaurants in Orlando. I LOVE Antonio's! They have an awesome market downstairs where you can shop all things Italian. You can also grab a bite to eat down there as well in a less formal setting. Upstairs is their bar, as well as their more upscale dining area. I've eaten at the bar and the upstairs dining area thus far and both have been fantastic! They have some great happy hour deals on drinks, as well as some bites to eat. Because I'm a creature of habit, and because the first time I ate this meal here it was fantastic, I've only had their chicken parmesan with a side of fettuccini alfredo so far. The chicken parmesan is perfectly crispy, topped with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. It normally comes with a side of spaghetti, but I upcharge (I think it's only $3.00) to the fettuccini alfredo and the side you get could be an entire meal! I also love that they plate the alfredo separately so it does not get mixed with all the red sauce from the chicken parmesan. They have a great selection of wine to choose from. The service here has always been exceptional. I will definitely be back to try out some more menu items! Everything I have seen come out of the kitchen looks delicious! read more

This is my friend's favorite restaurant and we were celebrating his birthday so we decided to all meet for lunch at their outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area downstairs is dog friendly so we were able to bring our pups. The doorstairs, I learned, has a slightly different price point and you can get bottles of wine for normal retail price and just pay a $5 corkage fee. It was nice to be able to go into the market inside, pick a bottle, and then bring it to the table to drink. For an appetizer we tried the burrata but asked for it to be made with bresaola instead of Prosciutto since I do not eat pork. They did this no problem and it was delish! Under the beautiful meat was a huge yummy burrata ball with tomato and balsamic. It went great with both the crispy bread and the fresh soft bread they had brought to the table. For meals I ordered the penne vodka. Even though it lists salmon, they allow you to customize it however you want, so I got shrimp. The shrimp were HUGE! I liked how it was a bit different than I've had before coming with artichokes and capers - really made it something special. My partner ordered eggplant Parmesan and added sliced sausage and loved it. For dessert I got a cappuccino and a slice of the coconut bomb cake. The cake was so good. My friend got a slice of tiramisu for his birthday. Very good as well. Our server was super nice and full of knowledge about the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly inside as well. There is absolutely NOTHING bad to say about Antonio's. It's authentic Italian food in a beautiful and pleasant setting with exceptional waitstaff. We were lucky to have Jennifer as our server tonight and she was just amazing! She helped us make our menu selections since we grappled over all of the delicious sounding options. Up first was the Caesar salad. I always order a Caesar in Italian restaurants when dining in for the first time. It's a good indication of what's to come. And guess what? This salad was right on the money! It was dressed perfectly and had all of the flavor and ingredients that good authentic Caesar dressing should have. Bonus- they sell their dressings and lots of their sauces in the downstairs deli area. Win win! Entree round included the linguini scampi and spinach stuffed ravioli. Both were excellent! I loved the lightness of the scampi wine sauce. It went nicely with the shrimp and arugula. The spinach stuffed ravioli was another winner. The blush sauce was rich but the portion was appropriate. Of course we saved a bit of room for dessert but couldn't decide between the lemon creme brûlée and coconut pie. So we ordered both! I can't play favorites so I'll just say that both were delightfully rich and creamy! I'd happily dig into either one of these again. But then again, there were so many tempting options on the menu that I might have to try something new next time. And yes- there will definitely be a next time for me. And it won't be soon enough. PS... if the Florida weather cooperates, request an outdoor balcony table! Space is limited but if you can snag it, you'll enjoy a beautiful view of nearby lake lily. read more

A beautiful restaurant but overall unimpressed. We were a table of 7 coming in for a birthday dinner. The waiter was rather apathetic which doesn't make dining as enjoyable. The sweet man who brought the olive oil interacted with the two young kids at the table which was nice. They brought our fresh warm bread and olive oil for dipping along with to butter if you wanted. The bread was soft on the inside with the perfect crust. The oil had seasoning to it which made it perfect for dipping. As for most Italian restaurants I tend to split my meal as portions are quite big but here the portions are small and not made for splitting. The spinach and cheese ravioli had a delicious creamy sauce that complimented it well but for $19 a dish, you get very little. While the food was good, it was nothing special. During dinner reservation, a birthday in the group was mentioned but nothing complimentary was brought out. There is a pizza cafe downstairs which seemed appetizing. I took a quick stroll through the Italian market as well that had Italian wedding cookies, bottled sauces and pasta. There is a good size parking lot so parking isn't an issue. Reviewing both the market and dinner: Market - Adorable little set up downstairs with a pretty decent selection of fresh meats, cheese, and wine. We picked up some fresh prosciutto and pepperoni with the help with one of the staff members there, bless her soul... This was (very clearly) our first time in an Italian market so we had no idea what to pick up. She gave us a couple recommendations, and all turned out to be great! Dinner upstairs: Service was great! We ordered the calamari to start, veal parmigiana, and the braised lamb. The calamari was delicious! A bit oily, but tasty nonetheless. My braised lamb with risotto wasn't the best though. It looked so tender and fell off the bone, but ended up being very dry. Some spots had no flavor, and others were really salty. Risotto was the same thing, almost like it wasn't mixed properly and I bit into a spoonful of salt. Overall though, I wouldn't mind giving it another try the next time I'm down in Orlando! read more

Antonios is a cool little spot. The lower floor is an Italian deli and more casual restaurant, but if you take the elevator to the second floor you enter the quintessential Italian restaurant - where the color palette is a bit muted and the lighting is low. We had a large party and we were well taken care of. Service at Antonio's is phenomenal. Our waiter was on hand almost constantly to fill water, take drink orders, appetizers, etc. when food was ready it all came out at the same time almost like a dance. All of a sudden there were multiple servers carrying dishes and placing them before us. The food itself is out of this world. I tried the angel hair pasta with pine nuts, sundried tomatoes, and parmesan cheese and it was perfectly cooked pasta with so much more flavor than you might expect for a pasta with olive oil sauce. My favorite part of the whole meal was the cannoli. Most Americanized Italian restaurants make them with cream cheese or even marscapone which is not right. True cannoli is made with sweetened ricotta and citrus zest. Antonio's knows how to make cannoli and if you've never had true Italian cannoli, order one from here, you won't regret it. read more

Antonio's is a great date spot! My BF and I went for Magical Dining a couple weeks ago. We were a little confused at first and then realized we needed to go upstairs vs downstairs in the market area. Once seated we each got a cocktail and an appetizer in addition to the Magical Dining menu. During our confusion downstairs, one of the employees recommended the stuffed artichokes so we decided to get that as an appetizer. The artichokes were stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto, it definitely was something unique and it was delicious indeed! For appetizers aside from the artichokes we got the smoked salmon and calamari. The salmon had a great smoky flavor and the calamari was tender, not chewy at all. Our entrée servings were extremely generous, I had a huge swordfish steak and my BF had the 14 oz steak. Some places that offer Magical Dining make their portions smaller but Antonio's definitely did not skimp on their entrees! For dessert we got the Valentino and the coconut pie. The Valentino portion was a little small but it was tasty. I forgot to mention that Antonio's Old Fashioned is made with their own barrel pick, our server said it was 120 proof (I could be mistaken but it was over 100 proof). This was a great spot that we otherwhise would not have known about had it not been for Magical Dining! read more

Antonio's I am not usually the biggest fan of Italian restaurants, but this one left my mouth watering and with the desire to return again and again. We came with a bigger group to celebrate a retirement, and knowing this, they placed us at a table in our own private room. That made it much more intimate and relaxing. Service was impeccable. Our waitress was very personable without being too "in your face", great knowledge and recommendations were given when asked, and we never had to worry about our wine or water glasses being empty. For an appetizer, we tried their version of a caprese salad with the addition of eggplant and their smoked salmon crostinis. Both were delicious one-bites, but the caprese was out of this world delicious and inventive. Who knew you could make a caprese any better, but the addition of the eggplant and homemade basil pesto did just that. For dinner, I ordered the lamb shank with sweet pea risotto. I've had lamb shank at a number of different Italian restaurants and this one was by far the absolute best. It fell off the bone and practically melted in my mouth. So much flavor, and the risotto it came with made for a delicious side to complement. I devoured it. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan, which was almost bigger than his head. I didn't taste it, but he said it was one of the best chicken parms he's had, and since it's his favorite food and he orders it almost anywhere, that's saying a lot. I did get a small bite of the veal my sister got and was impressed at how tender and flavorful that was too. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and this raspberry and chocolate mousse tart. Of everything, the dessert was my least favorite, but that's not to say it wasn't delicious, it just means the food was even better. They have a wonderful selection of red and white wines, and some really great Italian varieties that are affordable for the quality wine you're getting. Full bar as well for all those non wine drinkers. Ambiance over the lake in unbeatable. Romantic for couples, classy for bigger families like ours. We have found our new favorite place for Italian food. Antonio's is comprised of a downstairs Italian market and cafe with a more upscale dining experience upstairs. We dined upstairs for our first time and were in love. Immediately the host and server were extremely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is formal but classic. We got the bruschetta and some salads to start out the meal. For entrees we got the spinach ravioli and the lobster ravioli. The portions were just enough and it then usually mountain of pasta in other Italian restaurant. The bread served with the meal was delicious, warm and accompanied by flavorful olive oil. We decided to check out the marketplace downstairs for dessert. We purchased a slice of coconut cake and bread pudding. There were so many other enticing ingredients and things that we will definitely have to try for future purchases. Overall we have decided this will be our new go to place for Italian food, which is also our favorite cuisine. It is definitely a gem in the area and we are just sad we didn't know about it sooner! read more

First time trying this place. The market downstairs was amazing. Will definitely shop there again. We had dinner upstairs. Food was decent. Service was solid. But I worry about their attention to detail and cleanliness. We had to send three of our four bread plates back to request replacements that were clean. Not a huge deal but as we were leaving, I stopped by the men's room and snapped the pic below. Paper all over, dead (maybe dried?) flowers, dirty walls. Makes me question how the kitchen might look. I wanted to send this feedback to the restaurant directly vs. going public with it but they didn't have an email address on the website so I decided to use this forum. I hope management sees it. We sat at the bar to dine for lunch. The calamari was lightly fried with a yummy aioli. Caesar salad was good but the lettuce tasted a little old and wilted, I didn't finish a lot of it. I was really there for the salmon pasta. It is sooo delicious! It's salmon, pappardelle pasta, and peas, in a cream sauce. The only bad part about it is if you don't finish it there and take it to-go, when you heat it up at home there is a lot of butter or oil left on your plate. read more

I've dined here several times and have enjoyed my meals in the past but my most recent experience fell far short. First, a dish of oil was served to accompany the bread but unfortunately it did not seem to be olive oil. I don't know what it was. I ordered the rosemary chicken as my entree however there was not even a hint of rosemary. It tasted more like smoked chicken. As time for 2021 Magical Dining is running out fast, RUN (or at least speed walk) to Antonio's, even if it means taking a dinner reservation at 4:30 (cuz they are BUSY!) Dinner last night was not 10/10 - I mean, the calamari I raved about last year has become HALF the 2020 MD portion size, and just about half as tasty - but that main course though! My oh my! We began with a bottle of Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio (great summer wine, cuz it's summer still here in central Florida, right?), and a good price at $25 a bottle. I'd also brought a bottle of Tinazzi Ripasso to keep up with "tradition" (we had a Ripasso last year too!) My wife went with the veal Marsala that we both loved last year, but I decided that a 16 oz. boneless rib eye upgrade at $7 was worth it. When our dinner plates arrived at our table, a wonderful aroma enveloped us! I blurted out "What is that unbelievable fragrance!" with a big grin on my face. The chef/cook happened to be walking by, and chimed in with "It's your steak!". I didn't believe him at first, but one bite convinced me that he was right. My rib eye was more smokey than the burnt ends of a brisket in a burnt-out building! They must have done it in some kind of smoker on steroids (menu says "from the oakwood grill"), since I ordered it - and it arrived - MR! Interestingly, one of our friends had the 14-oz. NY (great value too, with no upgrade price-tag); she let me have a bite to settle my curiosity, and I swear it was not half as smokey. Our waiter assured us that they were done the same way. One of life's mysteries! But if YOUR steak (regardless of cut) is as good as mine was last night, it will be well worth your trip, Magical Dining pricing or not! read more

I visited Antonio's during Magical Dining Month last year. This is a nice restaurant with a cafe on the first floor and fine dining upstairs. For Magical Dining, they served a 3 course meal with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I opted for the calamari, the New York strip with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables, and a tiramisu for dessert. The 3 course meal was absolutely delicious. The calamari was fresh and lightly breaded, the steak was the perfect medium rare and very well seasoned. The tiramisu was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. My party thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Antonio's is wonderful and I would definitely return to try their regular menu. read more

My husband and I stopped by here on a whim yesterday after being out shopping and him having a craving for Italian food. The inside store area hits you as soon as you walk in and seems to have a huge selection of really well priced food items from garlic to cake to cheeses and meats. It was incredible. The staff is INCREDIBLY sweet and very quick to make sure you are helped. We were told we had a 45 minute wait but we're actually seated in about 5 minutes on our outside patio by the parked cars which didn't bother us. The food was good, the garlic knots where wonderfully crisp with enough garlic to really give you that good hit of earthiness and while the sauce was sweet and lovely it was in our opinions pretty thin and watery so it was very hard to dip or use with the knots My husband got a sausage pasta dish which he raved about all night. The sauce was packed with flavor and I was impressed I ordered the rosemary chicken and was sadly pretty disappointed. There was no rosemary flavor (and looking back no rosemary seems to be on it at all) it was lacking in any seasoning at all even salt. The potatoes were okay but the cauliflower was undercooked by a lot. Prices are fair and we would consider coming back in again. I would just get a different dish if I come back. read more

Well, the food & wine were good but being humiliated at the host stand kinda set the tone for the evening. So, with that being said, we went to Antonio's in Maitland last night. The place has been in the same location next to the lake....drive past it 1000's of times but we decided, yes....tonight let's go get some Italian food! We quickly pulled off Orlando Ave with great excitement we headed upstairs. Of course I used Yelp to make our decision, but don't recall anything about a dress code; in fact according to the information provided here, it's a pretty casual place. I was wearing shorts and a t shirt...even had shoes on! It's one thing for there to be guidelines (albeit completely unspoken) but to humiliate someone in front of the restaurant is, well, just horrible. As I got the side eye looking me up and down by who I presume is the owner or manager, I was told that "YOUR attire is not how are guests dress". No profanity on my shirt, clean shorts and like I said I even had shoes on. We were given the option of leaving or taking the walk of shame through the bar to a table more appropriate for someone with TATTOOS. Alas I took the high road and said sure that's fine you can hide us in the back corner of the bar. Why was I singled out? That's a good question because as we sat and watched a couple groups of people come into the bar prior to being seated. Would you believe the dress code was relaxed since we arrived?!!! Well, these fine gents were wearing....shorts and t-shirts, BUT NO TATTOOS. Oh my I think we are finally seeing what the "appropriate dress" is and that means if you have tattoos that you're clearly a convicted murderer AND couldn't possibly afford to eat there. Aside from being treated like a 3rd class citizen by whoever provided us with our less than welcome judgement. I can't even imagine what commentary he had after we didn't run away as he expected. On the upside, the bartender / our server was really nice. I could tell he thought we got treated pretty crappy at the door and he really provided us excellent service. The food was good and the wine was reasonably priced. Unfortunately the experience at the door dominates my recollection of the evening other than I spent near $200 to eat in a corner hidden out of sight.
