The food was delicious and made fresh to order. We got here around noon and they had ran out of plantains and Salvadoran sour cream. They did add extra side items to make up for it from our breakfast platter. Their pupusas were better than any other Salvadoran restaurant I've had in the 11 years since moving to Austin. Had a great cheesy pull and came with a side of curtido and salsa roja. One downside is their lack of keeping their tables clean/tidy. We also saw huge outdoor roaches roaming around and mosquitoes galore. If they pay attention to keeping their seating/eating areas clean and put some roach traps or fumigation it would attract more clientele. I did start to wonder if this is how dirty their place is then what does the inside of the food truck look like? Last downfall was the lady at the window taking the order. I'm fluent in Spanish and she just didn't seem to focus when I was placing my order. I had to repeat myself a few times and it was because she was zoned out or mid-order she joined in a different conversation with her colleagues without excusing herself or apologizing. I haven't had Salvadoran food since I moved to Louisiana after the rebuild and my coworker use to make the best Salvadoran tamales ( sooooo different) these were exactly the same but were nonetheless delicious minus the one chuck of chicken in my tamale lol I let it slide because it was so good. They serve other dishes here like plantains and tamales but of course I ordered their pupusas. They're around 5" in diameter so I ordered 3: pork, squash and spinach. Came here for lunch on a Sunday evening. There was a bit of a crowd but not too long a wait to order. Everything is made fresh so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're in a rush. There is a decent amount of seating, but it's a fairly tight space and there were fair amount of flies. Space was comfortable enough for us to enjoy our meal, but I can imagine the ambiance not being for everyone I went for this chicken, shrimp, and pork/beans mixed pupusas. My partner tried the loroco and beans/cheese pupusas. When most of my order was ready they let me know the shrimp wasn't available and at that point asked me what I wanted to replace them. Understandable they might not have everything listed, but they were on the disorganized end of things. I appreciated that they threw in an extra cheese pupusa with the corrected order I thought everything we tried was really good! I especially liked that that the chicken ones had the outside coated in caramelized cheese. Highly recommend adding some of the d olancho hot sauce they have on the tables. I tried a little of both vegetarian pupusas, I really liked the loroco one. I hadn't tried that veggie before, it has a nice tang to it but is also more rich than you'd expect from greens in American cuisine. The beans/cheese one had a bit of an odd texture, it seems like they use some kind of beans/cheese mix instead of the two individually. I still enjoyed it, but would highly recommend giving the loroco a try. We also had the fruit juice which used marañon (cashew apple) as the main ingredient and really liked it. The juice was super refreshing on a hot day. Overall this is a good spot to get a cheap filling meal. Since there aren't a ton of pupusa places in town I can see myself coming back here when I'm craving them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here if you're visiting from out of town. Great latin food. I'm not from El Salvador, but I always enjoy good food from mi gente. This is the same food truck that was in North Lamar for years. I'm glad we are getting more choices in Pflugerville. I have tried the pollo con tajadas which translated means chicken with plantains, the pollo frito, and the chicharrón con yuca frita. This is an awesome food truck with freshly made Papusas @ $3.50 each. They had a variety of them. All were very delicious! My favorite was Loroco with queso ,which was the first time I had ever tasted. Slight language barrier but was able to get my dozen Papusas order correctly. Service was great & staff friendly. Ambiance very casual with several food trucks in same parking lot. I went at off time so parking was good. Food truck is on Dessau Road, a little bit hidden but was able to find. Fire pupusas! I have only ordered pupusas from here but they are amazing probably the best I've ever had. They take a while to make so you know they are super fresh. Their curtido is delicious as well as their sauce. Definitely my go-to spot. Just fyi, last time I went it said it closed at 10pm but they were closing up at 9:30pm finishing up the last already ordered orders. They accept card and there is plenty of parking. read more
