Love Salvadoran comfort food, the tamales, frijoles fritos, crema, etc. This is a good GO to spot! I give 4 stars because pupusas could be better but still far away from home, it reminds me of my #domingdepupusas

Very authentic. Everything made to order so hope you're not in a hurry. Staff very pleasant. Area it's located in is kind of scary. Salsa is the BEST. However food is like eating a brick of salt. I could not eat the rice or beans. 2 stars for the salsa and staff.

Wow!!!! At last, I found a legitimate Honduran/Tex Mex spot!! Holy cow. I was afraid that moving to Austin would be the end of my taqueria days, but I am wrong! I ordered a to-go order. I got 2 pupusas de frijol y queso (bean and cheese). The best part is that the cheese is a great quality white cheese that just tastes like home. It really tastes as though I'm eating my grandmas cooking. Omg and the salsa! Shoooot. It's so authentic and definitely homemade. This brown girl smiled until the last bite. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for AUTHENTIC Honduran food.

It's always a treat to eat here after being picked up from the airport. The best pupusas in Austin, TX. Being half Salvadoran, I know what I'm talking about. I got the revuelta (mixed) one with a side of beans and scrambled eggs. Make sure to put the sauces on top of the pupusa. It's tradition! My family also ordered a side of platanos. Get the cream!

I have been looking for a closer to North Austin, location for pupusas, and fried plantains. (usually hit up El Sunzal) We had two breakfast dishes, 4 pupusas, and shared a mexican coke. Was about 23 and some change. I love the hole in the wall Mom & Pop places. Because damn these Loroco and Cheese Pupusas are delicious AF. The cabage comes with tongs, and the tomato sauce is SO YUMMY. The migas were covered in cheese and chopped jalepenos, with a side of beans and crisp edged potatoes. The chips had a good bite and slightly soggy from the cheese. They were great. I would highly recommend this place. It's small, but the food is what you come for. Waitress was real nice, and took our order and only asked us once about the food (Which had no complaints, and appreciated being able to eat without questions : p) I definitely can't wait to go back!

Best pupusas in Austin hands down. We have literally tried every place, every food truck. Closest you can get to the ones in El Salvador

Awesome place to eat. Maybe there are better places out there for pupusas but I have only eaten here so I'll say this is the best

There's too few pupuserias in Austin! Overall a mediocre food experience, but if you're in the mood…read morefor papusas, not much choice for us here. Met up with friends and one of them loved the authentic vibes. When we're the only non-Hispanic people in a relatively full restaurant it's a good sign! Usually "authentic" when on the cheaper side means that it's cheaper quality but full of flavor, as people with lower incomes know how to make great tasting food that's filling for a lower cost - hence how ox tail and po'boys got created and has becomes staples. I can definitely attest it's authentic, however the taste and food quality is a tad lacking. Carne Asada - my friend said... I'm still chewing it when I asked how it was. Definitely low quality piece of beef, however not made any better by the flavor or the way it was cooked. Fried Fish - definitely the star! Slightly overcooked, but still juicy and tender, the fish had an excellent flavor. Warning it can be a lot of work to avoid the bones! (one friend had a tough time, while the other had it eaten in just a few minutes) Papusas - Mediocre. Good enough to fill the craving, however not the best showcase for the famous El Salvadoran dish. Good amount of filling and with ok taste. It could use more salt and be cooked a little crisper on the outside. Make sure to ask for the cabbage topping in case they don't bring it out - it was nice to see that the container for the cabbage had a prep date. Chicharron - Overall a little overcooked, but I feel like this is typically the case every time I've ever had it at any restauraunt. Chewy and overall good flavor. Tortillas - Thick!! And homemade! Yucca - I wish now I had known they had fried yucca, as it's harder to find than one would think in Austin. Make sure to ask for this fried treat, as it's 10x better than French fries!

Two are our friends order the fried fish. One dish had a lot of fish bones while the other did not. Overall it had good flavor but slightly overcooked. My husband ordered the papusas which he was craving for. It was prepared well however slighly bland. As a signature El Salvadoran dish, it was ok. The cabbage topping was a helpful flavor enhancer for this particular dish. The chicharron was slighly overcooked, dry, but had a good flavor to it.

It was pretty packed inside so a server had us wait outside on the porch until a table opened up. Soon after, we were seated and looked through the menu. We decided on two pupusas with a tamale to share. We got one revuelta and one chicharron & queso pupusa. The revuelta was hands down our favorite - the meat was so tender and it was amazingly flavorful. The chicharron & queso was good too but we would probably just get 2 revuelta orders next time. I was not too impressed by the tamale and next time would probably just order a third revuelta instead! Our server was kind and attentive throughout the meal. We mostly spoke in Spanish so would just be aware of that if you visit - would help to be able to place your order in Spanish! The room was moderately sized and good for either bigger or smaller groups. They had some really cute Salvadoran decor. I would certainly come back here when I'm next in Austin!

I couldn't not try all three, and they were each delicious in their own way. The curtido and salsa were the perfect accompaniment to cut the cheesiness of each pupusa, and to top it all off, they had passion fruit agua! I can't forget the chips and salsa... normally, I don't have any reason to write about either, but the chips were fresh and the salsa was really unique, chunky, mildly spicy, and extremely flavorful. I had to add some on top of my pupusas as well! The service was fantastic - the food and drink came out in a very timely manner, and the server was super friendly, making sure that everything was delicious. The interior was very comfortable with booths, tables, and high tops. I really enjoyed Delmy's, and as it was my last stop before leaving Austin, I arrived home in Florida still full and with good memories of a final meal!
