Antoine is so experienced and goes above and beyond for his clients and his pricing is SO reasonable when he could be charging what those bham salons are. They have the most AMAZING staff. everyone knows what they're doing & I would recommend Antoine to anyone looking for someone who knows hair like youve never experienced before. you don't have to worry when you're in his chair. Also, if you need your brows done or lashes, Ursula is the best I've ever been too as well. I would not recommend this business. Pricey for the service they provide and ruined my skin above my one eye because the wax was too hot and it burned my skin and ripped it off. Hair cut was simple and nothing special. For quick hair cut and eyebrows wax (40 minutes or so total) I paid $80 plus you can pay tips only with cash so I paid atm fee inside of salon to get cash. $90. Once again Antoine has saved the day for me. Today is the second and last time I will ever have my hair done elsewhere. My hair had an orange hue and it was uneven! I absolutely love the end result, but they burned my scalp so badly. They straightened my hair with the foil still on, so the straightener was clamped to my scalp for many seconds. The pain I felt during and immediately after my appointment was unreal. I had to take a pain killer when I got home and my scalp had welts all over the next morning. A few days later, and my scalp is covered with dried liquid from the welts exploding. I am so sad because I haven't had my hair professionally done in about 10 years, but am scared to get it touched up. I love the color, the woman helping me was incredibly kind (there were two helping me) and the salon was very clean, but the pain I felt with my scalp and the discomfort I have felt since my appointment justify my review. I am very thankful for the woman who assisted with my hair, but the owner who actually did it was unpleasant. He was speaking poorly about others and I felt sorry for the people he was speaking badly about. I'm sure things were said about me, too. I got a mani-pedi and the experience was very nice! The back area where you get your pedicure has a really good massage chair and the woman who helped me was very skilled. I didn't have any pain when getting my calluses removed from my feet, which happens at some other salons. The fingernails aren't flawless, but they are pretty close to it. The only qualm that kept me from a 5 star rating was that it isn't absolutely obvious how well sanitized the tools are. They don't come out of sterilization chambers that I saw and weren't wrapped in cellophane before use. She also used the same foot file on me and my friend, which I didn't mind but others may. Definitely a nice place to go and have your hair done, nicely decorated, clean, as soon as you get in you are welcome by a bunch of cute girls and you are immediately help, offered a sit and a coffee or glass of water while you wait. Walks in are always welcome, but they do encourage you to make an appointment. Antoine, the owner, is always there and when he's not working on a client he's making sure everything is perfect. They have all the services available and a great selection of hair products (sometimes they suggest you products, but they're never too pushy) They have average prices (men's 35+ women's 45+, plus tips) Unfortunately i have had a couple of not so pleasant experiences there. First, my husband and walked in, we had no appointment, but that wasn't a problem, the receptionist was trying to see who was available to take us, and right there in front of us there was this girl whispering "not me, please, not me!" by whispering i mean she thought she was whispering, but basically she was speaking out loud. Right in our faces. The receptionist lady kind of noticed the "situation" and asked Antoine something, Antoine turns to the girl and there we go again, "noooo! not me not me please not me!" right in our faces again. For some reason the girl was anyway assigned to cut my husband's hair, and he obviously felt really awkward, but then the girl did his job (btw she gave him a terrible haircut while trying to be chatty and posing a fake smile). It bothered us, we felt very uncomfortable. The other situation was: On my second visit i called ahead to make an appointment, the receptionist on the phone wasn't very amicable, but i can live with that. So i got to the salon, the hair dresser did a plain good job, i went back for three or four more times, but i just don't love it (needless to say hubby hates the place). The two hairdressers that have done my hair are both nice and chatty, but they do a plain job. I like the kind of hair dresser that, if you ask, gives you suggestions or tells you what's fashionable or what fits your face shape and stuff, but that also sticks to what you ask (if i say don't cut it too much, then don't) Sadly i haven't found that at Antoine Salon (I've asked for suggestions and gotten none and i have had my hair cut more than what i requested) So, yes, very nice, welcoming (besides the rude "not me!" girl) elegant place, just not the right for me i guess. read more

I have to say she is absolutely amazing at what she does. I've never been to a salon where the owner greets you as you walk in and knows my name...pretty much everyone else who works in the salon as well. Terrible Terrible Terrible! I had to give this rating a one star but if I could have given anything even less than a star like a minus star that would explain my frustration! This salon is terrible and the owner antoine is extremely rude. doesn't listen to what the customer wants and does what he thinks is right. I went to the salon asking him to maintain my hair as blonde just a little darker shade and he completely colors is BLACK!! My baby hair thats naturally blonde he made it black! He charged me 110 for nothing! my mom and all my friends were shocked with my hair! they also thought it was terrible. whats worst is his customer recovery. I went back the following day explaining my frustration he says" c'mon! it matches your eyebrow color" ( who told you I wanted my hair to match my eyebrow color!!), he says "woman you're giving me a HEADACHE!" and he didn't offer to work on my hair right away he said come back later in another 4 hours i'm too busy now! So i walk out of there so frustrated and I never came back, i'm very frustrated for the money I lost I cant even ask for a refund. Instead I went somewhere else got it fixed but of course you can just imagine all the chemicals that my hair had to go through in the process of fixing my hair. NEVER EVER again! Ok so I called a day or two before my event and said I needed an updo, and also told the woman that I did used to go to Antoine like 10 years ago when he was in somerset--- so she made an appointment for me with him. I arrived promptly, and he was ready and waiting with a smile. The atmosphere was fresh, new, and clean, very beautifully decorated. Antoine asked how I would like my hair, I told him half up and the rest curly, and he proceeded to twist, curl, and pin my hair into a beautiful waterfall of curls! So why four starts instead I five, simply because my normal hairdresser I would consider a 5 star, and this wasn't quite there. I have been seeing another stylist at this Salon for awhile now and ended up getting scheduled with Farah Joy because my stylist was not in on the day I needed to come in. I'm pretty sure she was the person I talked to on the phone because she has an accent and I remembered it when I heard her in person. How convenient that she scheduled me on her own books. I was honestly disgusted that she spent a good part of my appointment trying to convince me that my hair was colored/cut wrong and she even offered to "do a better job". I've been getting my hair done with my original stylist for YEARS and I always get compliments. This girl (Farah) has no class and if I get scheduled with her again, I am walking out. I hate to give a bad review for the Salon because of one person, but this is such vile behavior and I'm sure I'm not the only person she has done this to. read more

When she finally had someone else wash off color, woman let water run down my back; sweater was wet; left me there with wet towel on my head. I have been getting my hair done at Antoine's salon for the past 7 years now, and it has been nothing short but amazing. Antoine (the owner) has been doing my hair, and I have received the most compliments about my hair since he's been styling it! I always get my hair cut from him and he creates great layers in my hair. I also have gotten both keratin and hair Botox treatments from him. I started off with keratin but he introduced me to hair Botox which has been amazing for my hair. It reduces the frizz and makes my hair very shiny, and it utilizes natural oils and zero chemicals. I moved to Indiana in 1999 then to downtown Chicago in 2007. I tried many other salons from $60 haircuts to $200 haircuts (not to mention a highlight added another $100-$200 onto the haircut), and I have to say they never compared to the superb hairstyles/highlights I received from Antoine. I moved back to the area in Oct 2014, and the first thing I thought was OMG I have to find Antoine (last time I lived here he worked at Somerset). Long story short...I found him, walked into his salon, and after 15 years he remembered me!!! I sat down so excited (almost in tears), and knew he was going to make me look fabulous once again. Yep, I was right. He totally did. I do not know how I survived so many years with such bad cuts and color. Erseila is the best brow shaper! I travel and live in Washington DC area. Often, family and friends bring me to Troy area. I always make time for Erseila to do my brows! She is excellent!! I have been seeing Antoine for haircut and color since he was working at Heidi's at somerset. It has been over 10 years. In the meantime, I have tried quite a few stylists in the area, have paid more at high end salons, but I always end up coming back here. The highlights, even when growing out, always blend well and I can go for 5-6 months with his cut. The best part is appointments are fast and efficient. Laura Sweis in the last week I went for a root touch upand highlights with the owner Antoine. I was so excited and it great spirits but he was very rude and hurting me during the blow-dry. I wasn't even upset and was trying to make light of it. He then has his assistant blow drying me too in the opposite direction of him and I just cloed my eyes trying to get through it. He got his brush snagging on my hair and it hurt so bad that my body couldn't help but follow his brush, I thought he would have used his hand to pull the hair out so that it didn't hurt but he ended up pulling it completely. I told him in a jokingly way since he seemed irritated anyhow that it hurt me and he walks away saying "you have such a sensitive scalp I can't even blow dry you", then have twonof his assistentndry and style my hair. I just had my hair bleached and it was very tangled and course and maybe I am sensitive scalped too Indont know. It if that is the case he should have been sensitive to the fact was really hurting. I walked out of there with tears in my eyes my feelings were so hurt. What an arrogant disrespectful and miserable person. Will never go back. read more

I am surprised at other's bad experiences at Antione Salon. I have only been there twice, but have been very happy with not only the staff, but most importantly, with the service I received. Bouriana was the stylist. She did my daughter's hair. She gave her a Brazilian Global Keratin treatment and a hair cut. The salon is clean and well decorated. It's a comfortable atmosphere. They offer you coffee or water upon arriving. The receptionist is very sweet and bubbly. My daughter felt important when she got the treatment done today. She had both her stylist and the owner blow drying her hair at the same time. They got us in and out of there in 2 hours. Which I am hearing is very quick for a keratin treatment. The end results both times have been PHENOMONAL! Shiny and healthy, and the haircut was beautiful too. We will be coming back to Antione Salon from now on. We are both very happy.
