I've been coming here for years. I love the salon and Aveda products are the best around. It's hard to find a good salon, as some are uptight, some aren't friendly, but this place is the best of all worlds. It's a very family friendly environment and you feel like one of the gang. Can't speak for the lady cuts, but they seem happy when leaving. The salon always gave me a great trim and cut; even though lately it's an easier cut due to my choice be more aerodynamic and simply shave my head.... but it's still better going to the salon, than cutting it myself. I hate giving a business a low mark. If they would have worked with me, even thrown in a shampoo I would have been happy. I bought a group on. I am growing out my silvers and thought I would get some highlights to help with the transistion as I was coloring my hair every 3 weeks. The stylist (I think was Dena) suggested low lights. I explained to her my plan of getting a little color in my hair every 4- 6 months. She suggested low lights. It looked beautiful the first day. Little did I know that low lights fade ( into the color I have been trying to grow out since July). They claim they are a permanent color and you need to redo them every 4 weeks. So it's like starting over. After I explained to the manager that this defeats the whole purpose I asked her what can be done about this. And she said nothing. You need more low lights. I feel low lights should have been explained better to me. read more

I was referred to this salon by a friend I walked in and the receptionist with blonde hair was extremely rude I was asking her if I could schedule an appointment for a mani and pedi and this lady was rolling her eyes at me while I was looking at her all I wanted was a mani with shellac and a pedi with shellac she was making it impossible for me to even schedule with poor service of being a receptionist and then rolling her eyes at me very unprofessional so I decided to get my nails done somewhere else where I was respected as a customer I won't ever step foot in this salon for anything read more

Excellent service! Every stylist I've had has done a great job and I've been to 4. The salon uses aromatic Aveda products. A haircut is $10 less than my previous salon (Bocci). I appreciate that everyone is down to earth and not hoity toity. read more

For hair this is a great salon by both appointment and walk-in. It is the only place I trust for my simple hair style and have never been disappointed. I like the fact it is an Aveda salon as I used an Aveda salon exclusively when I lived overseas for awhile. So some of this is a comfort issue. It is clean, bright and never smells like a chemical induced salon. However, it is a bit small and can be crowded especially near a holiday. I don't get my nails done there because it is a cramped location right in the middle of the hair area which doesn't make it comfortable for me. If they moved to a larger location with a separated nail area I'd get my nails done there as well because all the beauticians are professional and friendly. read more

Went in seeing the sign "Walk ins welcome" but they were a little busy. Friendly receptionist though; penciling me in for a little later. Came back for my appointment, to a very nice, friendly stylist. For once, someone got my hair right. Even my regular stylist and good friend couldn't do that. Will definitely come back again; seeing's they are just down the street, and the service was great. Took really good care of me the whole way. I noticed a few bad reviews on another site; of which none were about the stylist, or the hair cuts. Those all got 5 stars. Update on another attempt at follow up visit. Disappointment again. As I was setting up the appointment, I mentioned I wanted to use freshly purchased groupon and was told by receptions (Melani again???) that they will not honor that because I already used a group. I said the previous group was expired when I used it so I did not get promotional price. She said this new groupon is for new customers only. So, ciao bambino, I set up appointment at another salon. I have moved around the country a lot in the last several years and have always looked to Aveda Salons for my cuts and highlights but I am sorry to say that I tried two different stylists at Salon Indigo and decided to go elsewhere after the 2nd person botched my highlights. The first stylist placed the highlights so far from my scalp that upon leaving the salon it looked like I had a month of outgrowth. I might have given her the benefit of the doubt had she made pleasant conversation with me during my appointment but she did not. I actually felt uncomfortable and awkward sitting in her chair while she did my hair... The second stylist I tried at Salon Indigo was much more fun to chat with but made a nightmare of my hair. Not only did the highlights turn out completely clumpy and uneven but along my temples, she didn't get anywhere near the scalp! I had giant dark spots on the sides! There was no possible way to part my hair to cover the mess until I went back to have it fixed. When I did go back for a correction she popped a few more highlights in to "fix" the problem areas but still left me with a mess that will take several more rounds of highlights to recover from! I hate to trash anyone on Yelp but beware of highlights at Salon Indigo :-( I realize they were picking up a new head of hair but these issues were so technical that I feel fair warning to my fellow yelpers is due! read more

It took me many years to find a stylist who understood and could handle curly hair. Stephanie is wonderful and I am always pleased with her work. I have also had mani/pedi's and up-do's at the salon. I tried salon indigo after purchasing a groupon for highlights and a haircut. I've always loved Aveda salons and products, and was excited. My highlights turned out just OK... too far away from the root and a slight hue of orange in color rather than blonde, but compared to the cut it's really not that big of a deal. This was the worst haircut I've ever received. I've actually never written a review on yelp before until now, but I feel like I had to warn other people. I actually had to attempt to even up my hair by myself when I got home so that I could get through the weekend until I could make an appointment elsewhere. I guess I should have known when she did my entire haircut sitting down, and kept going back and forth a million times to try and even things up that it was going to end up well. I felt like a mannikin that she was practicing on, and frankly could have done a better job myself (drunk and blindfolded) A lot shorter than we originally decided on and totally uneven. While driving home, on one side the hair was resting on my shoulder, and the other it wasn't even touching my shoulder. wow. and her so called "texturizing and layers" only compounded the problem leaving me with missing chunks in random places. I'm sure other stylists here do amazing jobs... but I wasn't impressed that they were making fun of customers as soon as they walked out of the salon and I was the only one there. I almost wish I could have given this place zero stars, one star is far too generous. read more
