Great little local bar with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always pleasant, the…read moredrinks are reasonably priced, and it has that comfortable small-town feel where you can relax and enjoy yourself. It's the kind of place where the locals make you feel at home, and you're always likely to have a good conversation or meet someone new. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area!

We came in for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is pretty small. It was clean, and had a…read morenon-traditional vibe for a BBQ place, but not in a bad way. Hipster-kitschy, if that's a thing. Plenty of light in the place, about 20ish places to sit. The prices were very good. $8-10 for a pound of meat seems pretty good. They had various bottled soda options, but most were oddballs...no Diet Coke, but they did have Butter Beer. The cash register guy was cool. The food took a long time for meat that would seemingly be cooked already...it's not like they're making pulled pork to order. When we received our pound of brisket and pound of pulled pork, they were smothered in sauce. Proper BBQ serving etiquette is to serve these two meats without sauce and allow the patron to sauce accordingly. Too much sauce, though it was decent flavor. While we're on sauce....any decent BBQ place should have several to choose from. Give us a traditional, a hot, a Carolina, a Kansas City to choose from. They had one sauce. ONE! I also had the pulled pork fries. Bad dish. Nothing redeeming about it. Just a pile of food. If it was melted cheese it might make sense. If I had a metal fork it might make sense. I couldn't even stab the fries with the plastic fork. The dish didn't work at all. In the future if in the area, I may try a sandwich. On the whole it's just an ok place, but in a place like Lewiston, ok is serviceable.

We have been annual diners at The Villager for ten plus years. It has always been a great stop for…read morebreakfast. But for the last couple of years and particularly this year Audie and Daryl, owners, have stepped up their game catapulting the food, service, and atmosphere at The Villager into outer space!! Service is always warm and friendly. The diner is always immaculate and the buzz in the room is lite and friendly; you can feel it. The food is exceptional!! Coffee is fresh brewed and hot. Any food item off the menu will be delicious and prepared to order. On this experience my wife had the country fried steak that included white gravy, hash browns, and two eggs with diner-baked sourdough toast. She loves country-fried steak and has ordered it from many diners and restaurants. But when she tried it here from The Villager exclaimed it was "the best I've ever eaten!" I had the Denver omelette (diced ham, green peppers, onions, mushrooms) sautéed into a couple eggs with cheddar cheese into a fantastic omelette. It's served with crispy hash browns and two slices of homemade bread. My favorites are rye or sourdough toast. As I was ordering my omelette Stephanie, our server, suggested adding cream cheese along with the other ingredients so I agreed. This was the best tasting omelette I have ever eaten!! Thank you Stephanie!!! Watching all the associates at The Villager working together AND enjoying each other and their work is special and not necessarily witnessed in other places. After breakfast I walked to Audie to compliment her and the amazing meals we had just eaten and she passed along my compliments to her servers and chef deflecting my praise to them! Audie gets IT! She is a tremendous person and I know The Villager will be a home run for as long as she and Daryl own it. If you're near Lewiston, Michigan Audie and Daryl's The Villager is a must-visit place to eat!!

Good food, nice people, let it be your morning happy place! Been coming here for years, usually…read morefor breakfast.
