We enjoy it so much it too has become part of our Fathers Day golf outing tradition. It wouldn't have gotten that way if we had ever had a bad experience. It's actually a fairly good-sized restaurant considering it is located relatively out in the sticks. Clearly, the owners are trying to offer the best meals in the area and that commitment shows through everything they do. Known for their steaks, they still bring out a massive platter of various raw, cuts of steak for you to choose your own by looks and size. The old guy running the grill once again got all of ours cooked exactly as we individually requested. Another nod to nostalgia is the bar cheese and crackers that arrive at every table before your order is taken. They are a perfect complement to a pre-dinner drink from the bar. And the salad bar (extra cost with a meal) is worth the trip. I tried it and found some good homemade potato salad and a pot of home-cooked baked beans in addition to all the normal stuff. In summation, when you are this far from what most of us call civilization these days, it is comforting to know that places like the Redwood still exist and still offer everything that is good about small town America.

The mushroom soup was just okay. There was too much pepper in the soup. The hot toddy was a good drink. The elk meatloaf was just okay. The bbq sauce was a little too sweet. The mushroom pasta was not good at all. It was so unbelievably bland. Over $40 for the most bland pasta I've ever had. I am not sold at this point in coming back. Again, the service was amazing! The food was not worth it for the price.

We have been dining at Bennethum's for 15+ years based on all of these. The best upscale, (but not pretentious) option in the Gaylord area. Josh and his family go the extra mile to insure their guests feel welcome and receive great service. On our most recent visit, I had the Perch, a menu staple. Always fresh, lightly dusted and flash fried, nice portion and great flavor. Accompanied with jasmine rice and green beans. My wife had the BNI Blue Wedge Salad, blue cheese dressing , applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, onion, with shrimp added for protein. Shrimp were plump, juicy and flavorful. And a meal is not complete without a loaf of their BNI bread. :) Great cocktails, warm ambiance. Be sure to check them out when in Gaylord area.

Wow. Just wow. We…read morespent the day at the lake and planned to go to the Mexican place across the street. They were short staffed and had an hour wait. We worried that we might be under dressed, casually in jeans and tanks. Yelp said this place was great. It was. We dined with 3 kids who all jammed out on the kids meals, spaghetti with homemade noodles, hand breaded chicken tenders and pizza that was SO good. Adults had salmon x2, scallop risotto, eggplant Parm and the almond crusted halibut. Everything was amazing, we were passing forks around like covid never happened. The clam chowder, Devine. I am so impressed. First time in , likely won't be in the area without stopping back. Our service was PHENOMENAL and our waitress knew the menu, made great recommendations and was amazing. Cheers Rochelle! We love you!

The bread was soaked in what I assume was maybe garlic butter but it tasted like it was from a popcorn machine. Everyone ordered something different and the consensus was everything was sub par except for the lasagna. Perch was filled with bones, pizza was super oily and saturated from the pan it was on, shrimp was just okay. We were really excited to try this place but probably won't be back. Give it a chance if you're in the mood for pasta, I suppose.
